I have certainly had much better. Sadly, what you get looks nothing like the photos they post. It was a weekend and fairly busy. What was pretty annoying is given how busy they were, not all the staff were working. There were three people, but only two were helping customers. The third just stood behind the counter and just observed the chaos. And the people who were working, didn't seem to care very much. There is a sign stating if you were to guess a trivia question, you would get a free topping. The server who took my order, I asked her three times and she just ignored me. When I finally made it very explicit I was trying to guess the trivia question, she told me she didn't know what the answer was. I'm happy to pay for any toppings, but what is the point of having this "trivia challenge" if the workers don't even know the answer? When I received my cup of ice cream, it looked like it was mostly melted - if you look at the photo, you can see I took this at the shop as I received my order. I honestly had a few bites and ended up throwing it away. I did also purchase a pint of their Mexican Vanilla which was quite good. When you visit the website, the pictures look amazing. It's too bad what you get doesn't even remotely resemble what is in the photos online. It's just ice cream!

In celebration of a week of beautiful weather ahead, I decided ice cream was the way to go. Not just any ice cream, but Amy's vegan Mexican vanilla bean ice cream. As I walked up, you could see several families outside enjoying their cones and cups of ice cream. I walked in and more families inside at the tables enjoying an ice cream treat. Waited in line until it was my turn. I just get the vegan, so I never really pay attention to the other flavors. But they seem to have a little St. Patrick's theme ice cream. Showing support of SXSW. Austin named ice cream, Zilker, and Congress. Amy's is pretty iconic to Austin. After placing my order of a pint of vanilla ice cream, I paid with the cashier. I do have a punch card, and she punched the card for me. Quick and easy. And I was off to sit in traffic on the way home. Haha. IYKYK

Lots of yummy stuff up there!

Amy's was delicious! Grabbed a Mr. Milkshake today and it did not disappoint. The hot fudge made it thick enough to eat with a spoon. The Andes mints were finely chopped by the blender and added a nice, minty flavor to the fudge and Mexican vanilla base. It was thick, chocolaty, and delicious. The store itself is fun and funky. Very chill vibe, very Austin! Staff was friendly and quick. Service with a smile! Highly recommend Amy's!

Very attentive service. Variety of flavors and mix ins or toppings. Fresh. I was a bit thrown off while eating my ice cream of the actual chunks of ice. But overall decent experience. The cost though was a bit much. My tiny size was over 4 dollars.

The ice cream is always amazing especially the Belgian chocolate with a cookie . The waiters always give you a nice big scoop of ice cream even if you only order one scoop! The tables are always clean and never dirty. Please go there and try it!

The second time I was here, I modified the Turtle by switching the praline pecan with just plain pecan nuts and OMG... it sure did hit the spot! Again, I cannot say enough about their Mexican Vanilla ice cream! Yummmm!

After a yummy sushi dinner my hubby and I had a craving for ice cream and decided to try Amy's Ice Cream Shoppe in the Bee Cave Galleria mall. We ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream cup. We noticed the girl took a waffle cone and tried blending it into the ice cream. There was no cinnamon taste or toasted flavor. We both took bites and thought, "wow this is some bland ice cream." We ate a quarter of the cup and then threw the rest away. Next time we will be going elsewhere for a more fulfilling. On a positive note the servers were cute young girls and very nice.

The ice cream and staff were great but this store front has a serious gnat and fly problem.

I'd definitely come back because the quality of the gelato was excellent. The only area that could use some improvement was the customer service flow. When we walked in, there was one employee working, a customer with three young children who was taking quite a while deciding on flavors, and another customer who appeared to be waiting to pay. I don't know how long he had already been waiting, but by the time he finally paid, he had nearly finished eating his gelato. While the family was still deciding, the customer herself kindly told us to go ahead and place our order so she wouldn't keep holding us up. We appreciated that gesture and stepped up to order. I ordered chocolate and stracciatella. When I asked for chocolate, the employee asked if I was sure and whether I'd had it before. She did offer me a sample, which was thoughtful, but it caught me off guard since I wasn't expecting to have to justify my flavor choice. I also asked if they had cones, and she said they didn't. She then asked what size cup I wanted. I replied that I'd like one scoop of each flavor, not realizing the scoop count and cup size were separate choices. It took a couple of exchanges before I understood what she meant. A little more explanation upfront would have made the ordering process much smoother. After our gelato was prepared, I expected we'd be able to pay and move on. Instead, the employee immediately went back to helping the family continue sampling and deciding on flavors before ringing us up. By the time we were finally able to pay, my husband had almost finished eating his gelato. The employee was genuinely friendly and patient, especially with the family, and I understand it's not easy managing everything alone. I just think some additional training on balancing multiple customers--such as quickly checking out customers whose orders are already complete before returning to someone who is still deciding--would make the experience much smoother for everyone. Overall, the gelato was delicious, the shop was clean, and I'd happily come back. I just hope the service flow improves because the product itself is definitely worth the visit.

I had a fussy 10mo and needed something to do inside as it's very cold. We've never been to Almost Grown and it seemed like a good way for my kid to let off steam. This is a very cute cafe and ice cream shop with a play place in the back. It's a $10 admission per child, parents get in free. The admission here is $8 less than Pikopye's and you're able to just walk in. Love that. As some yelpers have mentioned, it is a bit chaotic as there are so many toys around. There are lots of tables to sit and eat at within the play area. There are different play areas such as a doctor's office set up complete with little scrubs, hats, and stethoscopes. There's a firefighting area with fire fighter gear. As well as a farmer's market area with tons of toy produce. All the toys from each play area are scattered amongst the entire play room. I'm kind of wondering how often they sanitize all the toys/costumes/tables etc. as there are a lot of kids with runny noses here. Overall it's a good place for kids to come and socialize/burn some energy.
