Craving for ice cream tonight I head over to Amy's ice cream at hill country gallery again. So on my way the line was very long it's a Saturday night quite busy. Seems everyone has to have amane's ice cream. I ordered my favorite Vanilla Ice cream caramel sauce and pecans. I decided it's a hit or miss At Amy's ice cream. So tonight was a hit. This was creamier than most ice cream I've had here it also was more flavorful and definitely delicious. This reminded me of an old style ice cream when I was a kid. It was absolutely perfect so whatever their recipe is it is beyond amazingly perfect. One thing I noticed was people weren't picking up their cups and tables were sticky. You can't go wrong with Amy's. Coffee ice cream with chocolate sprinkles (jimmies) was excellent. I got a jar of pecan praline sauce to take home. Everyone was super sweet and the lobby was clean. read more

We visited Amy's while in the area for the Addams Family play at the Hill Country Galleria Amphitheater. The window paint was utterly charming. They even had Addams family flavors! The staff was very hospitable and talked about the show with us. I love seeing the community supporting each other. The ice cream was delicious as always, we got the mexican vanilla, cookie batter and dark chocolate. All tasty flavors that kept us cool until sunset. read more

I have certainly had much better. Sadly, what you get looks nothing like the photos they post. It was a weekend and fairly busy. What was pretty annoying is given how busy they were, not all the staff were working. There were three people, but only two were helping customers. The third just stood behind the counter and just observed the chaos. And the people who were working, didn't seem to care very much. There is a sign stating if you were to guess a trivia question, you would get a free topping. The server who took my order, I asked her three times and she just ignored me. When I finally made it very explicit I was trying to guess the trivia question, she told me she didn't know what the answer was. I'm happy to pay for any toppings, but what is the point of having this "trivia challenge" if the workers don't even know the answer? When I received my cup of ice cream, it looked like it was mostly melted - if you look at the photo, you can see I took this at the shop as I received my order. I honestly had a few bites and ended up throwing it away. I did also purchase a pint of their Mexican Vanilla which was quite good. When you visit the website, the pictures look amazing. In celebration of a week of beautiful weather ahead, I decided ice cream was the way to go. Not just any ice cream, but Amy's vegan Mexican vanilla bean ice cream. As I walked up, you could see several families outside enjoying their cones and cups of ice cream. I walked in and more families inside at the tables enjoying an ice cream treat. Waited in line until it was my turn. I just get the vegan, so I never really pay attention to the other flavors. But they seem to have a little St. Patrick's theme ice cream. Showing support of SXSW. Austin named ice cream, Zilker, and Congress. Amy's is pretty iconic to Austin. After placing my order of a pint of vanilla ice cream, I paid with the cashier. Amy's was delicious! Grabbed a Mr. Milkshake today and it did not disappoint. The hot fudge made it thick enough to eat with a spoon. The Andes mints were finely chopped by the blender and added a nice, minty flavor to the fudge and Mexican vanilla base. It was thick, chocolaty, and delicious. The store itself is fun and funky. New in the area and still finding my way. My husband and I had a date night and he is always looking for ice cream. I've seen the Amy's Ice Cream shop in the Austin airport and never have a chance to order anything as I'm running for the gate. There is a location in the Hill Country Galleria and we stopped by for a treat after our meal and he had the oreo and dark chocolate. I took a spoonful as my meal sent me over the edge. The flavors were amazing. Creamy, chocolately and extremely delicious. Next time, I will make sure I save room for my own dessert! I have visited Amy's twice. Once while walking my dog and once while attending a show at the Galleria. The first time I ordered an ice cream for myself and the doggy bowl for my Yorkie. The dog ice cream bowl is HUGE. They would benefit from either making a couple of size options or make the one option smaller. There are multiple ingredients for your four-legged friend like peanut butter, ice cream and cool whip. My dog is only 5 pounds so he doesn't need as much as the original contains so I had them dial his back. He loved it! My ice cream was so good and I looked forward to another visit. For my second visit, I ordered online while waiting for a show to start at the Galleria. My friend and I shared a mini ice cream cake. I would not advise you to order one without the proper planning. We didn't plan ahead and it made for a bit of a mess. The Oreo ice cream cake was pretty good, but I would have preferred one cookie crumbles for the middle layer instead of chocolate cake. Now don't think for a second that I didn't finish my half, cuz I definitely did. It's just not my favorite for ice cream cake. It may be for you. So maybe try it. read more

This was my first time to any Amy's, so a new spot near me was a nice addition. It's a little tucked away near Ledgestone, so it's not obvious from the road that it's there. That being said, it was later on a weekend night, not too crowded, just some young folks coming in for some ice cream. The ice cream is great! The young kids working were super nice and accommodating, knowledgeable, and good employees. Very friendly kids, and that was great. I know it was fairly close to closing (30 min) but there wasn't an ounce of pressure, and I even had to ask if they were closing soon so I wouldn't be an annoyance and they could go home. 5/5/24 Don't get me wrong. Amy's ice cream has amazing taste and flavors. But y'all seriously should reconsider who you choose to be the face of your business... aka the servers. I went in with friends at around 8:30-9 and was greeted with the most annoyed and rude worker I have ever experienced. Upon requesting my ice cream, she mixed my ice cream with a dirty area of the table and got unwanted things like strawberry's and what I'm hoping was cookies. But that's not the worst part, because I'm not immature. I received my cup with ice cream all on the side. Not a little drop. She saw the glob and proceeded to throw it on the top counter and give it to me, rolled her eyes and continued with a disgusting face to the person after me. After a yummy sushi dinner my hubby and I had a craving for ice cream and decided to try Amy's Ice Cream Shoppe in the Bee Cave Galleria mall. We ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream cup. We noticed the girl took a waffle cone and tried blending it into the ice cream. There was no cinnamon taste or toasted flavor. We both took bites and thought, "wow this is some bland ice cream." We ate a quarter of the cup and then threw the rest away. Next time we will be going elsewhere for a more fulfilling. On a positive note the servers were cute young girls and very nice. read more

Worst customer service i received in a while. I was doordashing and tony C's said it'd be another 15 min. So i let customer know immediately another 15 min before food was ready. In the mean time, because i was craving ice cream so bad i went into Amys for the first time literally 10 min ago. But because the service was so bad i'm taking a break from door dashing and had to write this. First of all i dont know where to order no one acknowledges or says hi. The store is not that busy. A family comes in and she is super friendly to them having all sorts of conversation. So i walk behind them patiently wait. No problem. N this family is so nice they are like hey please cut us if u know what u want, i politely laughed and refused saying imm figuring it out too. Well i had figured it out shortly after. After the family had ordered (keep in mind out of 4 girls not one employee had said a word to me) the girl asked the family if they wanted anything else, the lady as asked no but i think u can help him. So she confirms oh are u with him? (First time my existence in the store had been acknowledged) she said no but he might be ready to order. So their own customer checks on me before any employee does and even then still took another 2-3 min before the girl in purple hair said something like "i didn't forget about ya man".. well i appreciate finally being acknowledged but ya so nice to know cuz i truly thought yall did. Anyways 10 min had gone by and still hadnt had my order taken so I left. Def a huge let down... i had to watch a whole family get delicious ice cream. To management. Train ur staff to say hi immediately. It takes 2 seconds and will keep them from losing their patience as they wait like I did. Unfortunately this is like really bad customer service. Like really bad, so unfortunately a 1 star for now. By the way i really am a nice guy and i hate writing reviews like this but i'm upset cuz not only did i not get my ice cream but i wasted 10 min just to be ignored by the staff 4 girls with 4 total people in the store.
