If you struggle with acne - reconsider this place. The 1st time I came here I had a SMALL breakout..PMS. The woman did a 2 hour acne extraction on my skin (that was VERY painful), and my skin has not been the same since. I've suffered from the most terrible breakout in all the areas that she picked and poked and tugged at. After a few months of going to them, I saw no improvement. I went to another esthetician and she told me their form of treatment is absolutely terrible for skin. I'm not saying their method doesn't work.....But if you have a life to live, do not go here!!! I got scammed out of $1995 by Amy. She talked me into getting the peel membership. After my first treatment my skin got really bad and the pain was horrible.. she told me it's normal to be patient. I did that. After the second treatment everything got worse she then told me the same thing again. I listened and tried to be patient. One of the lady at her spa pulled me on the side and told, this is a scam. Your skin is never going to get better with this treatment if anything it will get worse save yourself and stop this Green Peel. I was very suspicious after that but wanted to trust Amy but after the 3 led treatment and my skin was getting worse, I told her I no longer want the services and wanted a refund for the treatments I ddnt use .. which is suppose to be half. She wanted to give me a $70 refund after I paid $1995 .. I am not rich I worked hard to save that money to make my skin better and AMY Heartlessly stole that from me. Please stay away , it is a trap. I gave this place 5 stars because I received nothing but excellent customer service. I was referred to this place by a coworker of my sister who is a fan of the Green Peel. Well, I sat on my gift certificate for months before finally scheduling my free consultation on Thursday, July 30th. Background about me. I have old acne scars that I hated on my face. With a little makeup, the coverage was fine. I have very sensitive skin & I can't wear everything. I had done my research on chemical peels to get rid of the scaring. With me being African American, I was doing extensive research about different peels that are good for African Americans. Well, I decided to see Amy. When I came for my consultation, I was greeted once I walked in, & I was offered water or wine while I waited. The place is absolutely beautiful & very welcoming. Well, Amy sat down with me to talk about my options. I decided on the Green Peel being that it was all natural. I asked her about me being African American & surprisingly, she has many clients. A lot of Nigerian ones. Me being half Nigerian myself, that put me at ease. The pictures I saw after a few treatments were absolutely amazing. As we discussed my issues, I literally started crying to Amy. I've been dealing with this since I was a teenager. I've gone to Dermatologist but none of the creams or pills worked for me. Most dried out my skin. Well, I signed up that day and I got a microdermabrasion and the baby Green Peel. Fast forward to today, Tuesday, August 4th, I am so happy with my results. The spots aren't gone, but they have lightened a GREAT deal. I'm comfortable without makeup. A few more treatments will help. My face did peel, especially on Day 3. I'm a current client getting laser hair removal on full face and neck. I'm halfway through my package of 6 treatments. I initially went for a consultation and met with Amy. She is very knowledgeable and had been in business a long time, and what sold me is that my package would not expire- I'm trying to get pregnant and knew I would need to stop treatments when that happened. The place is very clean, smells amazing and you are always greeted promptly upon entering. I wanted to start right away, but alas, I had used retinol the night before so I wasn't allowed to. That was fine, I definitely don't want to mess up my skin. I was told I could come back in four weeks and not to use any retinol products. Yay! Excited to start, shaving your face sucks. In four weeks, I came back and was told four weeks wasn't enough time and I should go at least eight weeks without retinol. Ok, that was irritating. Why schedule me for four weeks if I had to wait eight? More shaving :( Once I started the treatments I noticed significant results after two treatments. My hair growth is drastically reduced and I'm thrilled with the results. They also offer discounts if you end up getting another body part lasered. My only other issue has been that you have to wait a significant amount of time for the technician to come to the room even if you are on time for the appt. I'm not sure if it's just because I come on Saturday afternoons when they are busy, but I've had to wait at least 20 minutes each time. There are always at least a couple of people there when I am and they offer lots of treatments, so it's honestly just a minor inconvenience. I definitely recommend them though! read more

My bother gave me a massage Groupon for my birthday. Needless to say I was very happy he had gave me such a great birthday gift...GoOoOoO brother!! I called the morning of the day I wanted redeem my massage, and I was able to schedule an appointment with no problems. When I arrived, and I walked in the door I smelled nothing but bleach. I was happy that the facility was clean, but it takes a way from the serenity of the environment. Smelling bleach reminds me of Saturday morning cleaning, not a massage haven...not a good mix. I proceeded to the front desk, the representative greeted me by name (nice), and then she took me to where my massage would take place. The room, dimly lit, seemed very serene, but again smelled like bleach. I tried my best to ignore it, then got lost in my massage. The masseuse was awesome. I paid $800 as a deposit towards laser hair removal and then was transferred to another state with my job before I could schedule the services. I called to request a refund because I'm living out of state and will not be in Texas to schedule services. I was told no refund would be provided but when I'm in town I could use my $800 credit towards ANY services they provide. I was upset but whatever moved on with my life until one year later I'm visiting my family in Houston and call and use my credit to make a massage appointment with Amys. I'm told they arent accepting new customers and I cannot use my credit for a massage because their Massage Therapist is old and about to retire and can only handle one customer per day. Ummmm? Not my problem! I ask AGAIN for a refund an told the owner would call me but I've never received a call. This business STOLE $800 from me and now I'm forced to contact an attorney for fraud and theft. My sister is a news anchor for a popular Houston news station and I'm also bringing this to the news to expose this business for lying and stealing money from customers without providing services. I was driving by yesterday and saw a man outside with a sign advertising skin tag removal. So I called and was told that I need to come in for a consultation. They made room for me 40 minutes later for a consultation what I thought was great. In the exam Amy told me that she would charge me $350.00 dollars, but said that this price is better than what she normally would do. Which is $35.00 for the first one and $10.00 for everyone there after. I told her that with a young family and me going back to school that I could not afford that. She then told me that because she was the owner she would give me a better price of $200.00 for everything. I guess in that moment you don't sit there a count the ones you want done then add it all up. I guess because I'm 33 and look it she ask me why I am back in college? I told her that I was transitioning form the military to civilian, I needed and wanted more education. That when she offered $200.00 price and I thought she was doing me a favor. I was really nervous about it. However, I let her do the job. The process did not hurt it was uncomfortable, mostly because her and I did not discuss how the procedure was suppose to happen. I must mention that when given this outstanding price. I promised to take my wife there for a message and anyone else that I knew that had the same problem that I have. Now a day later, I checked my wounds and counted 16 skin tags that she removed. The moment after the procedure I was not thinking about how many she removed. I did notice that I still had one more on my neck, however its not big or a problem for me;Then another one that I just notice and never seen before till just then, on my under-arm/back. At that time I did not care because, hey, I was getting the hook-up, right? Now, lets do this Math. 16 skin tags the first one is $35.00 and the rest of the 15 would be $150.00 dollars. $150.00 +$35.00= $185.00. I paid $200.00 dollars!! Also, was originally Charged $350.00. I only see two skin tags that remain on me. If they were done I could of and should of only paid $205.00 dollars. Amy is a Liar, Cheapskate, Unprofessional, Un-American, person. Now, lets be clear. I am glad they are gone. I wished she did the last two. It did not hurt. The price she set of $35.00 for the first and $10.00 for the rest. is good. She did a good job removing the ones she did. However, she is a thief. Trying to take $145.00 from me, But, did take $15.00 from me. I guess I can see it as a tip. However, someone like her she not receive a tip. I will not honor my promise, by taking my wife there. I will never endorse the place. I would rather go to a place where they treat their customers with more respect! Tried this place. Finally after 3 years we have found a great skin care place for my teenager. She has acne and products and doctors have not helped much. Amy is very caring and direct. Beware I had an allergic reaction to their products!!!!! I had an allergic reaction to their oxygen facial. I went back the next day with hives all over my face, back, and neck. The owner (Amy) came in the room to look at my face once she seen it she ran out! Never asked me if I was okay or if there was anything she could do. I asked that she return to the room to discuss my condition and had to wait an hour. When she returned she was not apologetic nor did she show any concern for my condition. All she said was she had an emergency as if my condition was not urgent. I went in for a facial based off their advertisement on FB for their green peel service. When I arrived they had all these sale pitches to get me to purchase a $600 service. When I said no they sent another sales person in. When I told her no Amy herself came in to try to sell me on the service I declined more than 4 diffrent times prior. To make matters worse I found out during my consultation that they falsely advertised their results. Come to find out pictures they have up on their FB page claiming results after 1 treatment was actually 4 to 5 treatments. Bottom line worse facial I've ever had. Very disappointing experience! I found Amy's through a Groupon for eyelashes. I've been going there for several months and fell in love with the gal doing eyelashes and the salon itself. Seems my great gal left but Amy's lied to me multiple times and was not honest that she was no longer there. I won't go into grave detail but this is hugely unprofessional. When given the opportunity to let me know the situation, they opted to lie instead of being adults and professionals. Well I was certainly wrong about that as I have since been a recurring customer. Amy's Skin Care is fantastic. On entering, you're greeted to an immaculate environment that makes you feel like you're in a heavenly spa. Amy has top of the line equipment and I feel completely rejuvenated after her facials. I've tried quite a few different types of facials, from hydration to peels, and I truly cannot say if any is better than the other because each one was amazing. Amy is a sales person she won't see what you really need. she'll just put a price to something you don't need. The consultations are complimentary and they ask you what your concerns are so in order to get the best advice make sure you are honest and address all your concerns during your consultation. It's a little pricey and I gave it four stars because I came in on a Saturday and they were super busy. I am here on a Monday and Amy took her time to talk to me once again which I really appreciate it. It's also nice to see that the employees have such beautiful skin. I received a facial and massage gift certificate for my birthday for Amy's. I got a wonderful massage from Maria. She did an awesome job of explaining why certain muscles/areas were bothering me. You can tell that Maria loves her job and helping others. I recommend her for an amazing massage experience. I got the oxygen facial after my massage. This is about my 5th time getting this facial. Sarah was very nice and facial was relaxing and she did the extractions with minimal pain. I did notice that after the facial I have a slight rash on my neck and on some areas of my face. So I suggest that if your a first time customer with sensitive skin you let them know to avoid this issue. I never had a rash in the past so I'm assuming new/different products were used since my last visit. Overall this is a great spa with very friendly and attentive staff members. read more

This is going to be a thorough review on this place since the only reviews here seemed pretty biased (some from people who haven't checked in the place.) This is my first time coming into Amy's and as we all know, first impressions matter along with the actual service given. First of, the smell of the place when you first walk in is fantastic. However, the people receiving the guests could be warmer. They all seemed slightly bitchy.. Like they didn't get to have lunch or something (this was at 1:30) so that quickly wiped off the smile on my face. I was quickly handed over to Amy and she immediately pitched the most expensive service they had. Which was OK, a little sales pitch doesn't cost you anything but I already had something else in mind since I usually get facials anyway. I ended up getting the Oxygen Treatment for $85 which was pitched to me as uber purifying/declogging/detoxing. I made sure to ask if there were going to be extractions (which I sorely need right now because of my oily/combo skin and a long overseas trip that has left me with just a cleanser and moisturizer routine). They assured me that it was the "perfect" option for detoxing my skin. Then a sales pitch for an extra $30 for a foot massage.. Ok I took it. The process was like this: I was left 15 minutes alone in the room to take my clothes off. They turned on the steamer and put it on my face and left me there for 20 minutes (I peeked out of my soaked and thin eye patch that, by the way, did not block any light.) Not only that but they left the door open!! They came back to put my feet in hot water. So here I am: in my panties, lying down, with my knees propped up, and the blanket not offering any bit of modesty (it came down to my knees...) They should have paid me for my panty show! Then a lady started working on my feet and my esthetician started prodding my face for extractions which was OK. You're supposed to prod. HOWEVER!!!!!!!! The extraction process was minimal. Poked the side of my nose and my chin. I started getting anxious because I was under the impression that it was going to be more than that (flashback to the uber detoxifying statement) and it was just that. That was it. Put a mask here. Wash it off. Put another serum. Massage it in (very awesome stuff hence the 3 stars) Put moisturizer. Done. With that service I felt like I could have just asked for a regular facial that would have cost me $65. It wasn't worth it. The treatment sounds cool but I came back to my hotel room, looked at my face close up and found it still clogged. Sigh. I'm sticking to my regular spa from now on. All in all, I felt like their services were upsold and promoted to you as something worth their price but like I said, just go and get their regular facial. There's probably no big difference in the process. They'll just use a different can of cream named a different name. It's a nice place but I didn't particularly love it. read more

I found this salon via Yelp reviews. Upon entering the salon you are greeted with wonderful smells of aromatherapy and a very professional receptionist. I was offered something to drink and asked to complete two forms. After completing the forms I had my consultation with Amy. She was very thorough and took her time to listen to me. She then reviewed some of her clients that had the same or similar issues as mine. Which made me feel at ease with my decision to complete my appointment. I was running a few minutes late and they were very accommodating and didn't rush my oxygen facial with enzyme peel (I think that's what it was). I've been going to Amy's Skincare for over 4 years now mainly for microdermabrasions but I have also had micro-needling. They always do a wonderful job and my skin looks very glowy and fresh for 60! A few weeks ago I had my second Green Peel with Amy and my skin looks and feels so smooth. It had been 3 years since my last Green Peel and I am reminded that I need to do this procedure yearly because the results are remarkable. In addition, I had "planing" done before my last microdermabrasion to scrape my facial hair off with a sharp blade and this made the microdermabrasion even more beneficial.
