Travis at An Affordable Plumber has expertly completed a long list of jobs at our house over the last 3-5 years and we've been impressed and grateful for the quality work he's done on each of them. Among them, Travis has fixed leaks, replaced outdoor spigots, serviced tankless and traditional hot water heaters, replaced sinks/faucets, installed a complete Halo water filtration system, replaced irrigation back-flow valves, serviced/replaced our sump pump, fixed valves on our main line, installed new toilets in all bathrooms...the list goes on. He has always left our house's plumbing better than he found it and we appreciate the expertise he has as a Master Plumber which noticeably distinguishes him from other plumbers. Kelly worked to quickly understand the plumbing issue we had and told me that I would have somebody out there that day to figure out what was going on. Within 20 minutes of talking with her I had a phone call from Travis letting me know he was on the way. If I could give NO stars I would. Affordable Plumber is terrible. They certainly don't match the name of their company. Extremely expensive!! Also they are so unprofessional and disrespectful to potential customers. I would never recommend this company to anyone ever! The service was excellent; the technician very skillful, professional, personable. I'm giving this company a 3 because we were charged $455 to change the wax ring of our toilet. I just looked on Home Advisor and changing the wax ring should cost about 50 - 200 dollars. It's our fault for giving the technician the okay to do it. Then he (with our consent), checked our water pressure and said it was very high, not up to code, and would cost $685 to fix. We found out later, it was much lower, well withing code requirements. read more

In the middle of the night it started "raining and steaming (like hot springs!)" in our basement behind a completely enclosed wall with no access. We called Travis the next afternoon and he came the same day in just a few hrs. Nice guy. He diagnosed and fixed the problem, in I'd say under an 1.5 hrs (it was a 10' long hot water copper pipe that started spraying everywhere). The tricky part was that he had to cut through the wall to get to the problem. It's lovely to have a silent and dry basement and running water again! Definitely recommend. read more

He did an awesome job replacing our sump pump, installed a loop so our house bib could have unsalted water, and moved 2 lines over from our humidifiers so they could also have unsalted water. When a crew came to install our new fridge (there hadn't been one there before), they found that the copper pipe that supplies water was leaking. After shutting off the main, we called a few places and Travis was able to come by first. He did an amazing job replacing the water line, adding a valve & shutoff. I called Affordable plumber to find a water leak at my rental as we could not trace the source of the leak. When I called for an appointment I was told they come to the house and give you a free estimate. When Travis arrived at my house he called me to tell me that he charges $250 an hour to look for the leak. I told him I thought you gave free estimates. He said that was his estimate. I asked him why did they not tell me that you charge that per hour when I called since it is a fixed price. He said that they do not give estimates on the phone. Anyways I told him I did not want him to do any work for me as I felt that they should have told me upfront that is the fee. He kept asking me how much did I expect to pay for someone to find the leak and that he would have to put holes in the sheetrock in order to locate it. read more

Honest. On time. A good guy who knows his stuff. That's the experience of working with Travis. He came to our home to fix a toilet that wasn't flushing quite right, made some small adjustments in the tank and, once he was done, said to consider his visit as if he were stopping by to provide an estimate (no charge) since the work was so minimal. The Yelp reviews on Travis and An Affordable Plumber seemed sincere and legit. Unfortunately we did not have such a good experience as the others. We purchased 6 faucets with 5 costing us $70 each and the sixth at $250. Travis quoted us $2,800 to install them, which is about $467 to install each. We were not expecting that at all so we politely declined. We then immediately called 2 other local plumbers for price quotes, which both came in under $950 and also included removing and installing new water lines as well on all 6 sinks. Travis did not mention installing new water lines in his quote. We of course went with another plumbing service due to the major price difference. A few days later we received an email asking to write a review on our experience with An Affordable Plumber, so we gave them a low rating and explained why. Last night at 9:40 pm we received an email/text from Travis offering a 10% discount (not to exceed $100) for any future plumbing services. He was apologetic and polite, which we appreciate, but basic math still applies here. Look, Travis may be a quality plumber, but we wouldn't know because of his extremely high price quote. We wrote this review only to inform future customers that sometimes its worth spending some time to quote around. Our new faucets look and work fantastic! read more
