I absolutely hate cleaning but unfortunately I do love a clean house. Ana's Maid Service continues to be reliable and provides fantastic and affordable service. I've used them for the past year and they consistently provide a product that goes above and beyond the $65 they charge for a one bedroom apartment. The people employed by Ana's are mostly prompt (in the morning, they tend to be maybe 10 minutes late, but let's be honest worse things have happened) but always provide exceptional service. Furthermore, the appointment that I had was set up within 24 hours of emailing Ana's Maid Services on a Sunday afternoon, which I greatly appreciated, particularly during this holiday season (this all took place days before Thanksgiving). Examples of Ana's service going above and beyond are (once again) cleaning the inside of my coffee pot, an exceptionally well-made bed, a dishwasher run and clean by the time I arrived home, and a lovely clean (but not at all overwhelming) smell when I arrived home at the end of the day. I'm not a typical maid serivce person- I'm a grad student and intern, I'm living off my savings. Maid service is a pretty extravagant thing for me to have in my situation. I've used Ana's off and on for almost two years. After a couple fantastic cleanings, I randomly tried some others (ok, i had a gilt city deal and a groupon). I couldn't stand either of them. There were always things not completed and they took way longer. I went back to Ana's and even signed up for bi-weekly service. They are super fast and my place is always so spotless. One time they even completely reorganized my scary hall closet. And they're very friendly- whoever answers the phones is so nice. This week I had a last minute change to my work schedule, and they were able to change my usual thursday service to tuesday (tomorrow morning). Update: I had to cancel service with them. They clean my apartment AMAZINGLY. But there have been some scheduling issues that I just can't understand. i.e showing up to clean my place because I had bi-weekly service, but informed them over a month ago that I would be out of the country for that time and I would call to start service again. I have no idea if they showed up when I was gone. There have been other issues with scheduling as well. Other than that, they're great. But it just got to be a little too frustrating. read more

Unreliable and unprofessional. I booked a move-in cleaning with Ana's Maid Services and was told that a crew would be at my home at 9:00 a.m. ready to get started. When 9:15 came, I called the first time to find out the status of the crew's arrival. No call back. When 9:30 came, I called again. No call back. At 10:00, I called for the third time and still never heard back. It is now almost 2 weeks later and no one has called back to offer an explanation/apologize for the crew not showing up. Not to mention the complete failure on the day-of to respond to calls. A move is stressful enough, DO NOT use Ana's Maid Services if you are looking for a reliable company to clean your home. read more

We were referred by our realtor and used Anne's Maids for approximately 2 years. The many times they did a great job. Recently, many things were left uncleaned including light switch covers, stove, and cabinets. I spent over an hour cleaning after they left. My call resulted in a halfhearted apology. The last straw was when we were charged for over two hours when they were barely there for an hour and half. Calls were unreturned. Watch out for increasing rates, inconsistent cleaning, and inaccurate estimates. I called up for cleaning and was able to have them come next day which was great, and they brought their own cleaning products and vaccum. I'm a clean freak so inspected my condo fully once i got home - the place was nice and clean and even the toilet rolls were left as if I was in a hotel. My dishes had been washed and skirting boards were cleaned! Only things i wasn't so happy about was one or two obvious spots that were missed, and a little bit of mess on my doormat outside! While they were about 30 minutes late, they made up the time by sending extra personnel and my move-out cleaning was completed in half the time (1 hour instead of 2). They did a great job and left the place looking great. I recommend them for landlords needing a cleaning service to prepare a unit for a new tenant. read more

Updated review on 02/01/2012: The owner contacted me due to my Yelp review on 01/28/2012. The owner apologized for the poor performance of that maid crew and offered to do whatever it takes to get things right. A follow-up appointment was made and a different crew stopped by on-time. They did a fantastic job! The hardwood floors looked great. Combine the first cleaning with the follow-up cleaning and you have a job well done. There is a peace of mind to know that this company values your opinion. I can attest that if the job is not done right, the owner will make it right. An owner who cares is the reason for the 5 star rating. Review from 01/28/12: This was my first time with Ana's Maid Services. I purchased a Yelp promotion of a $125 certificate for $100. I have a three bedroom 1,100 sq ft condo. At redemption of the certificate, I made it clear that I wanted to use the entire certificate on one cleaning...which at a minimum would include interior of the fridge and oven. My other request for the maids was to make sure the hardwood floors and baseboards were given special attention as of means of spending the extra money on the certificate. I have no carpet. Slate in the kitchen, tile in the bath, and hardwood elsewhere. The maids did a good job in the bath and kitchen. The frig and the oven were polished inside and out. If my review was based solely on the bath and kitchen, they did a great job. The reason for the 2-star rating is due to a major flaw in service. They neglected the hardwood floors. They weren't even swept. There were dust balls still rolling around in the corners after they left. They didn't even sweep under the dining table. Some dirty spots in high profile areas were not even wiped-up. The maids failed to sweep and mop the hardwood floors. This was not acceptable. Unfortunately with such a major flaw of service, they will not be invited back. Buyer beware of the promotion certificate. You may not receive $125 worth of service. read more

Terrible cleaning!!! I had to tell them how to clean...they did not even pick up items from the table...instead moved a dust cloth around the items and hardly dusted anything. They were supposed to be here for 2 hours and "finished" (or so called finished) in an hour. They not only did not move anything, but didn't dust the blinds, windows or pictures on the walls. Low respect for customer, they were never on time and they poorly cleaned my small apartment.

I have no confidence in Ana's Maid Service. Their inability to show basic respect for customers makes me nervous to have them in my home again. Even after coordinating with the manager there was no follow through or follow up when I texted and called to check on before and after photos. I was traveling and could not be there in person, and I would not have paid for cleaning if photos were not an option. This was part of the agreement we made by email and over the phone. To make matters worse, the manager did not even follow up with me to apologize for the missing photos or to try and address the issue. She said the photos were coming but then never sent them and ignored my texts. I had no way to verify what had been cleaned or the state of the place as my subletter left it. Their booking team also messed up. I was initially told that they only take cash or check and they even cancelled an appointment by e-mail because I asked to pay in advance with a credit card. When I called to clarify, I was told that a credit card was okay--this was a standard form of payment. But at this point I had to reschedule and find someone else to water plants in the mean time due to this mistake. Even though they do a great job with the cleaning, I can't handle the stress of failed communication. read more

I returned home after my cleaning service to find that my bathroom sink's drain was broken and everything under the sink cabinet was soaking wet and rearranged. I have also discovered products that were kept under the sink are now missing so Im assuming they were thrown away during whatever situation occurred in the bathroom. I emailed your service to ask what had happened while I was gone but the response I got was "nothing". The unit below me is now reporting water damage and now I am forced to pay for an expensive cleaning service and new paint for the unit below. I understand that accidents happen but your employees should accept responsibility for their actions read more

I contacted Anas to provide me with two cleanings. I told them if they did a good job on the "move-in" cleaning that they would get my business for the "move-out" cleaning three days later. You would think that this was reason enough to make sure the first job was done correctly. Turns out it wasn't that important to them to get more business. I left a list of priority items that had to be taken care of. To their credit, the list was addressed - but very poorly. One particular item on that list was to make sure that the toilets were DEEP cleaned. What did I discover when I got home? A toilet that I had to go through and clean myself. A request as simple as this was only the beginning. There were windows, floors, carpets and cabinets that were not even touched. Are you serious? Bottom line find another cleaning service. I notified Anas of my discontent and they offered to come back and clean again. What? Why would I let you come back? Skip this company if you are looking for more than just superficial cleanings. read more

I used Ana's to clean my 1bd apt for a spring cleaning. WOW. They did an amazing job. The apartment was cleaner than the day I moved in. I have 2 cats, and you couldn't see sign of them anywhere by time Ana's crew had finished. They cleaned a rug I was about to throw away because my vacuum couldn't do the trick. I really can't say enough good things about this place. The crew was on time, efficient, and friendly. I would strongly recommend them! read more

I've used Ana's maid service probably six times now and every time I come home to a spotless apartment. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. I trust them in my home and have never had any issues with anything missing. The lady who answers is always very sweet and they are very accommodating with times. I work quite a bit and have a number of other things on my plate, so it's great to have them. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it's a bit expensive compared to some other places. They sent 2 ladies at $60 /hr. Not cheap. They say they supply all equipment and supplies. I found one lady using a broom over a wet rag to "mop" the hardwood floor! The condo is a 2br,2bth unit....I would think the rationale of sending 2 people is to be efficient and get in and out quickly. My living room is small. This is a 2br condo downtown Chicago, not large. One lady was mopping with a swifer with a rag attached, and the other was a foot away from her pushing the broom over a wet rag! I called the service to inform them of the broom situation, as I thought they would want to know. I had (have ) no idea if they are told to mop this way or not. They also did not sweep, swiffer or vaccuum the floor first. I pushed one sofa to see if they had cleaned underneath and they had not. There was dust and my dogs toys underneath! They had a swiffer but not swiffer sheets to put on it! I had to offer mine. I called the service - the woman was extremely defensive, refused to comment on the broom being used as a mop, and said to let them finish and see what you think. I said OK. 3 minutes later the women left! The one had put sudsy soap on the glass walls of my shower and walked out leaving it like that! I also mentioned that I work at a real estate office in the neighborhood that uses them all the time. That made zero diffference. I am very, very dissappointed and shocked at this "service." They simply didn't care....I would never refer them again and I was very very taken aback by the whole experience. read more

I saw Ana's reviews on Yelp and decided to schedule an appt with them. I'm glad I did. I asked if they can squeeze me in the next day, and they said yes. The 2 women came on time and my sister and I left. She came home first , called me, and said "wow, the cleaning fairies have done it, the apartment is so shiny!" Yup, my 2-bedroom apt was sparkling. They also cleaned the microwave, took out the garbage and my boyfriend's crate of empty bottles. I will DEF use them again! read more

I always feel like a tool having someone come in and clean, but when it starts to get a little Horders-esque, and I lack the time (and motivation #keepingithonest) it has to be done. Sadly, I have yet to find a company that I really love and would have back and Ana's is no exception. The pros are that they were very, very nice to deal with over the phone, showed up on time, and the price was right (thanks in large part to my sweet yelp deal.) The cons are...pretty much everything else. They were ok, sure. My place looked a lot less dumpier, but there were a few areas that were clearly missed and things that I probably could have done better on myself. Overall I was happy to have a cleaner looking place, but at the same time I was disappointed that the things I asked for/we discussed were not done. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I doubt it. I just think they could have done a lot better. read more

I'm confused as to what happened to this company in the last year. It used to be a great service with fantastic results for a reasonable price. The last few times I've had Ana's clean my apartment, they do a surface, mediocre job at best. They are barely there for an hour and I find a ton of areas that did not get cleaned after they leave. So disappointing. I don't know if they have hired new people or if they are getting pressure to clean in record time, but things have gone seriously down hill and it's time for me to move on. read more

The service was excellent. Ana's maids sent two women as they said that they would and they actually came early after only 2 days notice. I have a medium sized apartment in which I needed the kitchen (including the bottom interior of my refrigerator) the dining room (including desk space), living room, bathroom and one bedroom.. They were finished about 2 and quarter hours which considering my apartment and the condition of it's surfaces was pretty good. read more

I used Ana's Maid Services last week for the first and last time. They were not thorough. I specifically said that what I cared about most was dust removal because of my allergies and there was still dust everywhere after they left. Neither of the two employees that arrived spoke English so perhaps they really didn't understand, but I pointed to dust and am fairly certain that they did. But even if they didn't, shouldn't dusting be a basic part of the service? read more

On my first booking, I requested a Saturday appointment so I could meet the cleaning crew and they were able to accomodate this relatively late request. Excellent communication the day of the appointment as they were running a couple of minutes late and phoned to inform me of this. I have a one bedroom condo in Streeterville. I was quoted $55 plus $10 to clean the oven. They phoned when they arrived in the lobby. I met what must have been a supervisor who was dropping the 2 girls off...she asked if I had any questions and seemed eager to make sure I felt comfortable. The 2 girls came up...looked over the place and got to work. They did not dilly-dally or chat too much...just really got to it. Very efficient and seem to have a process to the madness. They were very thorough, however I am not sure if the person I spoke with on the phone remembered to tell them to clean the inside of the oven, as they did not. I love the fact that they bring their own supplies....they bring everything! I would recommend Ana's service if you are looking for a reasonably priced cleaning...again seemed to be very thorough and everything sparkled. I have booked them for their 2nd visit. read more

I was happy with their responsiveness, especially compared to other services in the area, however I was disappointed in the quality of the service. To start, the crew arrived 40 minutes early, which was a bit inconvenient since I was just about to have my lunch. They accidentally unplugged my TV as I was watching it - which would have upset me a great deal if I had been watching something important. What really bothered me, though, was that the apartment smelled WORSE after their 'cleaning' than it did beforehand. I don't know what they used - they said it was fumes from oven cleaner but that wasn't what it smelled like. Indeed, I want my place to smell chemical-fresh after it's been cleaned (if they're not going to use organic products). What this smelled like was dirty, mildewy rags. Based on the smell, I don't think they used any disinfectant products in the bathroom - just spread bacteria around. Now I've got the windows open in 40-degree weather and I still can't get the stench out of my nostrils. I will not be using them again. read more

I've used this maid service on and off for 5 years. I own several properties and I'm usually on a deadline when I call them to perform a deep cleaning prior to a tenant moving in. They've always been below average but their prices were decent and they show up on the scheduled date. Customer service is foreign to these people. The person in charge of scheduling and issuing quotes is a complete derelict. The maids pretend they don't speak English until it's time to ask for the check. The cleaning quality is extremely poor. They take their cleaning supplies outside the property before you have a chance to inspect the unit. The price last year for cleaning a vacant unit was $140. Last week, the same service cost $300.00. I had them clean another unit on May 28, 2016 and the price quoted was not honored. After they cleaned the unit, they upped the price. The maids did a very poor job and they where in there for approx 2.5 hours. I had tenants moving in shortly after both units were cleaned. I called the office to complain and I have yet to receive a call back. I will never use this service again. It pays to plan in advance so that you're not taken advantage of. read more

Like other reviewers, my wife and I are extremely busy due to demanding work schedules. Left with precious little free time, we recently arranged to have one of Ana's crews perform a "deep" or "move out" cleaning in our condo. The cost was $140 and the result was colossally disappointing. Though the "move out service" ostensibly includes complete shower/tub cleaning, interior and exterior bathroom cabinet cleaning, kitchen cabinet cleaning, etc., these areas were only addressed upon our review of the crew's work, and then only in a superficial manner. Other parts of our rather small condo--such as most of the furniture in our second bedroom--were completely ignored. Based on my experience with Ana's, I'd say this business is much more interested in making a fast buck than providing a quality service. I would never hire them again. I'll probably have to arrange a visit from another service for next weekend so the many spots neglected by Ana's crew can be properly cleaned. Does anyone have suggestions for a competent, reliable and thorough cleaning service? Ana's falls far short of that description. read more

tried anas maid service yesterday for the first time since i am hosting a rehersal dinner at my home friday evening...bless them and the wonderful job they did in my rather large condo...they were on time, efficient, and i was more than pleased...all accomplished for a reasonable fee....will definitely use them again! read more
