Loved getting an off the rack suit for a friend's wedding. I'm a small framed woman, but I love wearing suits. I've made some Banana Republic women's suits more masculine looking and pulled it off, I've tailored boy's jackets, and also had custom suits made -- this was by far my best experience. And I know they can do an even better job if I gave them more than 3 days notice. They were seriously awesome. Anatoly's has this great family run store feeling that makes me so happy to shop here knowing I am supporting the local community (that sounded very Bay Area). I came here looking for a suit for a business function that would also be a timeless piece. I did make a reservation before coming here on a Friday night, but really, I am unsure if you really need a reservation. SUIT: A navy blue suit. Upon asking Anatoly for this type of suit, several options were presented to me. I found myself in awe for how much I liked these suits. As you can tell, they buy these pieces that are unique, but super tasteful. I never felt rushed, but I knew that I already fell in love with the second suit. With proper measurements (measure twice, cut once!) and adjustments, I was able to get this suit that fitted like a glove. The price on the suit was very reasonable for a family run store. Sure, it's not going to be one of those large chain stores, but the price that you see does come with the alteration and I got a tie/hanky too. With the inclusion of tailoring, the suit comes out to be a reasonable price and Anatoly's works with you to find you a suit within your price range. Anatoly and his team run a fantastic suit business in the East Bay. Even though there are many companies offering tailored suits and shirts over the Internet, I still come back to Anatoly's for my suits. Not only does Anatoly help with measurements and ensure the suit fits you great, he has a great selection of fine handmade Italian wares. Back in 2012 when I was a broke graduate student at UC Berkeley, I decided to buy myself a good suit for some upcoming presentations and, potentially, meetings with VCs and investors. I was doing a lot of press interviews and presentations for a hardware startup I had co-founded, so I figured I needed a good suit. Anatoly's had the best reviews, so I went in. It was my first suit, and Anatoly showed me a lot of different options and we honed in on a really great Italian one by Prive. I knew it wouldn't be cheap. It cost me a whole month's rent to buy the suit (and for a broke college student, this was a lot of money), but I knew it would be worth it. Since then, I've worn the suit a bunch. I wore the suit (and another suit I bought from them a year later) to investor meetings, job interviews, and more. My jobs involved customer meetings and sales --I've closed 5-figure deals with customers while wearing the suit, won presentation awards, and more. I've also worn these suits to galas around San Francisco and gotten compliments on my fashion sense. They're great! I just bought a new suit from Anatoly's this week, and they helped find some pants to match the prior suits I've bought from them (I had torn a hole in one of them). I couldn't be happier with the service. I met Kirill while I was shopping for suits for my groomsmen and myself. We went through a bunch of options- never felt rushed and walked away with my favorite suit. I absolutely loved my experience at Anatoly's. First of, they're local, family-owned and really know their trade. Most formal/bespoke stores have salespeople you talk to. You rarely ever talk to the person actually making your suit. At Anatoly's they do it right there in the store. You talk to the actual person making your suit. Went in there for a wedding suit. I got the Italian Blue. They have an exhaustive collection and they help you navigate all the styles. What I loved was the individual attention I got. Most places I had visited tried pushing a certain type of suit (baggy) on me which simply doesn't suit my body frame. K was the one who actually understood my concerns and really worked with me on every tiny detail to make sure the suit fit perfectly (I prefer a European cut as opposed to an American cut). Despite the pandemic they really delivered outstanding service. We had three separate appointments to make sure the suit fit perfectly. All the appointments are set online and it's a very intuitive system. K really went the extra mile to make sure I got what I wanted. They also had discounts available for grooms and even helped get a French cuff shirt altered. 100% recommend them and I'll definitely visit in the future to get stuff altered. This is a wonderful family owned business, and everyone who I've worked with so far at the store has been very helpful and professional. I initially came to the store when I needed a suit tailored for my rehearsal dinner. I'm short and barrel chested with long arms and short legs...nothing ever fits me right. And yet, Anatoly and his team took my mediocre CK off the rack suit from Men's Warehouse and made it look beautiful on me. I got multiple compliments on how good it looked at my rehearsal dinner, and it was the most comfortable I ever felt moving around in a suit. I was so pleased with their work, that I've begun the process of creating my first bespoke suit with them. I'm very excited to see how it comes out. My only complaint is that their stuff is so good, I keep buying something every time I go in. It's easy to miss this place driving through, and its a small place, but Anatoly's made suit shopping easy and more interactive, with a ton of options. My groom suit came out fantastic, he is very attentive and meticulous on the tailoring details. The suit was a little higher in price than I wanted it (we all want to pay less amirite?) than i expected, but the customer service and feeling I got when I put on my finished and amazing suit gave me much more value than shopping at mens warehouse or other suit store chains. A big plus is their appointment app, which is extremely convenient. He also kept me in the loop and was very honest with me during the whole process and I feel at home whenever I'm there. There is a reason these guys receive a 5 star rating by over 98% of the public they serve. Since I make my living by being in the public eye, I depend on my clothes to look there best. And when buying them off the rack, regardless of the cost or quality, clothes in general are cut for the masses. Enter Anatoly's stage left. I recently needed some alterations made to several pair of dress pants that were no longer fitting correctly because of weight I had lost while training for a triathlon. I really just expected to have the inseam altered slightly and maybe the waist adjusted a little, but these guys weren't going to have anything to do with mediocre. Over the next several days, what I received was a complete customization of my pants. They practically took them apart and rebuilt them specifically to fit me. Now I have 6 pair of custom fit dress pants that look as if I was poured in them they fit so well. The only problem I have now is the separation anxiety of knowing I will probably never encounter such professionalism and skill when working with other tailors in the future. Long overdue review, as I had a Patagonia coat tailored here over a year ago and it was a bad experience. I've had clothes tailored and custom made before, but this was my worst experience. I assume others have had good experiences or he wouldn't have 4+ stars. But not me. Long story short, the coat was fitted way too small. He tried to fix it, while placing the blame on me for not knowing how to judge custom fit. Insulting. Even after the second attempt, the sleeves are still too short and too narrow. I can barely fit a thin button down under the coat sleeves (too narrow) and I have to keep pulling down the sleeves to cover my shirt cuffs (too short). Maybe he just does suits well, and not coats. Unfortunately I'm reminded of their shabby work every time I try to wear it. Argh. read more
