Great Animal Hospital! I'd recommend them to anyone in Mendota. The staff is great and the doctors are very knowledgable.

VCA Aurora Animal Hospital, Fantastic, Helpful and Extremely Caring Staff all around! From the…read morefront desks, to the techs, to the Doctors/Surgeons, etc. very knowledgeable and they all wear their hearts on their sleeves. Recently our boy Finn dislocated his hip and needed surgery to fix it. We called every VCA around and everyone was booked, it was also a Saturday so that was understandable. Aurora was the last VCA on our list because it's an hour and a half southeast of our home. So we called to see if we could get him in, we were told yes but it was a 2-3 hour wait because they were packed as well. We waited because our Finn is worth the wait. Finn got in to see a doctor, they ran all of their tests/X-rays and kept us informed every step of the way. We eventually got into a room and were given the results along with all the options and costs, they were very professional and informative. We decided to wait until Monday to make an appointment for surgery, otherwise we would have had to pay the "weekend fees/rates. We called Monday to schedule an appointment for surgery. Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday. Tuesday morning we dropped off Finn and his food; we were told they would call us before and after surgery and again before bedtime, and they did. We arrived Wednesday afternoon to pick Finn up and we were given all of his paperwork and meds, then we instructed on what to look out for during the healing process and how to use his meds and to call if we needed anything and to schedule an appointment with our VCA for a follow up. From beginning to end Aurora Animal Hospital crushed it!, Knocked it out of the park!, and exceeded our expectations!!!! Great Job Aurora VCA Staff and Thank You!! Finn is doing great and on his way to being our energetic, happy boy again!! We Love VCA!!!!!!!!

The receptionists, vet techs, doctors--all wonderful--professional, warm, welcoming--and all took the time to carefully explain every part of the process, from the first appointment, diagnosis, surgery, recovery, financing, etc. Dr. Peacock is everything you'd want your vet (or your own doctor) to be. He is a highly experienced surgeon--and doctors at that level often lack the "bedside manner" so crucial to clear communication and a healthy doctor/patient/patient's family relationship. Dr. Peacock dispelled all those concerns the moment he walked in the room. He is warm and down to earth. He was so helpful--examining our dog, explaining the issue and appropriate procedure--and answering all of our questions (some of which we likely asked more than once) with patience, kindness, and candor. I can't express enough how positive the entire experience was. Every single person made us feel comfortable, confident in our dog's care, and welcome. And our dog is good as new (so to speak!) Thank you, everyone at Aurora!

So I had a lot of questions that they apparently didn't like, so they called my wife and was very rude telling her that they no longer want my dog as a patient. My wife already put money down, had the surgery date set up and we paid for the other appointments. They care more about getting even with me than they do with taking care of my dog or my wife because I questioned the flu vaccination policy. Now we have to take time to find another veterinary, pay for more visits while my dog suffers because they did not like my questions.

One of the things I love the most is that they include us in the plan of care. If their first-line recommendations aren't affordable for us or won't work for whatever reason, they take it into consideration and offer a second option. They are so good with our (sometimes feisty) pets too! When it was time to put our senior lab down, they provided comfort and plenty of tissues for our tears. They really do care. I don't leave many reviews, but saw all the negative ones here and wanted to offer up my own experience, which has been great.

Looked at a toy poodle puppy recently. There were so many red flags at this breeder. First, she…read moredoesn't allow you to see the parents, and says because of insurance she's not allowed to. Spoke to some other breeders that had no problems with showing the patents .Second, she has you meet her at her place of work, so you don't see where the puppies are kept. Third, both puppies smelled and were filthy. One had matted hair. Fourth, she mentioned that she never takes the puppies to the vet unless there's an obvious problem. Finally, I didn't like the way she was disciplining them. Her method was to hit the counter, startling them. One time after hitting the counter 3 times (it startled me) both were sitting in the corner huddled together. So despite all this I bought the puppy. I couldn't get his little face and sad eyes out of my head. She did bathe him as per my request. While we were there (and I'm not sure what the puppies were doing) she suddenly flung her car keys at the cage, scaring them both. I've never seen a breeder do anything even close to this. I was shocked! My husband and I thought we would still buy him to get him out of this situation. We considered him a rescue at that point. Thought I should take him to the vet right away, since he'd never seen one. I'm including the vet's report that has his diagnosis. Two stage 2 luxating patellas, and both testicles are undescended. We will wait until 7 to 8 months old to see if they descend. If they don't the simple neuter will be abdominal surgery. I had a papillon with one undescended testicle years ago. The difference is I was TOLD of this ahead of time by the breeder. Also, luxating patellas are very easy to feel, it just never occurred to me to check. So she brags about having 40 years of experience, unless she's outright lying about that too. In conclusion, SHE KNOWINGLY IS SELLING DOGS THAT HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS! I have not contacted her because she will tell me to return him and offer to exchange him. No way am I putting this sweet puppy back in that situation, and I definitely do not want another one from her. I see she offered another person on these reviews the chance to return it and see her vet. Why would I trust her to touch this puppy again? This is what PUPPY MILLS do,they let you get attached knowing full well you're unlikely to return the puppy. And make no mistake this is a puppy mill. I've included the pertinent part of the vet's report, and also part of a conversation I had with her on AKC Marketplace.mark
