Stopped by Anchor and Tree Coffee Roasting located on 16 St in Sacramento, CA for a quick drink. I wanted something easy for my toddler so I ordered a strawberry lemonade. Amazing staff and quick service, ambiance being pretty chill... loved the atmosphere. I loved the drink and so did my toddler daughter.

What a lovely coffee shop! I envision being back to enjoy the atmosphere and read a book or do some work on the computer. The baristas were friendly and informative in helping us make our menu selections. The bikini bottom latte is one I will be back for and my daughter enjoyed her apricot pour over. The carrot pecan muffin is addictive and we both raved about it, the ham and Swiss was a close second with its buttery flakiness.

    I Yelp the Truth.

Friendly staff, lots of different drink options, nice vibes inside. Feels calm and serene to be sitting in here sipping on a Matcha Peach tea. I would recommend to ask the staff for their special drinks if you are unsure what you would like to try. The classics are always a good choice too. Definitely stop in if you are on 16th st visiting Downtown or the Capitol. It is such a vibe here!

Anchor and Tree has been one of my go-to coffee shops when I need a pick-me-up or a place to get a bit of remote work done. The space is welcoming and cozy and they have a variety of seating including a couch, window seats, small tables, and a larger table. The staff here is always friendly, and you'll often run into the owner, Donovan, you can tell he has a lot of regulars because everyone is excited to say "hi" and strike up a conversation with Donovan. Even when Donovan isn't there the team is always so friendly. They have a really cool variety of coffee available including special fermentation flavors that are available in drinks as well as beans for sale. All of them have such fun, unique and delicious flavors. You'll definitely want to explore the menu and this is a rare spot where I order something different each time I visit, instead of settling into a regular order. They also have art on display that's for sale as well as other items for sale from local businesses as well as to help with all your coffee consumption needs. I love browsing the options for sale and I usually pick up a new bag of coffee beans each time I visit. On top of having delicious coffee, supporting other local businesses, and providing a comfortable and welcoming environment, they also are eco-friendly and utilize an emissions free, electric roasting process and they use special take-out cups that are also more eco friendly. I really appreciate the thought and work that has gone into the Anchor and Tree experience, and all the small details really add up to an experience that keeps me coming back.

I'm so glad I got to try a cool LGBTQ+ eco-friendly coffee shop that was quite popular for a Thursday! My friends and I came to try this place that was on our coffee crawl and we came on a Thursday when they are open latest. They had an open mic night for singers and musicians to showcase their songs and I thought that was so cool. The worker was very nice and I ordered the lychee tea lemonade. My drink was very delicious, refreshing, and perfect for a summer day. The drink came in a recyclable and compostable drink container that I had never seen before but appreciated them using. They also have various deals and discounts on a sign outside. Would definitely come back!

Cute little coffee spot. The owner was there and introduced himself. He allowed us to drop off some art for free art. Fridays had a fabulous cup of pour over coffee. Will definitely make this part of our stop in once a week for coffee moving forward.

When you walk in it truly is a vibe, with the welcoming decor and comfortability of the space. We were greeted right away by the barista and he gave some recommendations and explained their coffee profiles. I ordered Orange is the New Black hot and you could definitely taste the citrusy orange flavor of the coffee it was a delicious strong pick me up. I also ordered the pineapple special iced with whiskey cold foam and it was delightful. I will definitely be back.

For the most part, this spot is absolutely awesome to grab a quick bite or coffee. There's plenty of sitting to do your work and that just enough Wi-Fi to go around for anyone who's a busy bee in the morning. My friend tried their croissants, which she thought were very tasty. I tried their ham and cheese croissant, and I just wasn't a fan of the ham taste it had, but overall their coffee is pretty good. They also have these biodegradable cups that they use which is so awesome, and I wished to have more places to did this. They only had one employee working there, but they were very quick to attend everyone.

This place was one of my favorites on a tour of about a dozen cafes in the Sacramento area recently. As others have mentioned, they roast their own here, and very importantly to me, can do any of them on hand as espresso. My personal bar of awesomeness for coffee places usually starts with "What espresso options do you have?" Recently, I've had some blank stares when I ask that, and even one that said "Well, we can do Americano, latte...". The answer I'm looking for is "We have [these two, or three or more] options, depending on what you like", then launching into country of origin or processing. Anchor and Tree definitely passes this "test". On my visit, I had a shop roasted Ethiopian that had bright acidity (almost too much), but was very pleasant, selected after a nice chat with the barista. We also talked about the two Bellwether roasters they had right there on the cafe floor, and geeked out a bit over their Bentwood grinder. The decor in the cafe is really cool as well, featuring a number of coffee-related art pieces for sale, and just, overall, a really cool vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Ah, I can remember the smell when I stepped through the door. The smell of roasted beans being churned away in the back was an unforgettable moment. The machines that were grinding or roasting the beans were so high-tech looking and you can especially see beans bouncing around like a washing machine lol. It was an experience to see this in person for sure. Anyhow, besides that, I grabbed a pumpkin spiced matcha latte from their fall menu. Beeeest matcha I've ever had. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, slightly pumpkiny, and amazing! The matcha wasn't very pronounced, but the other flavors complemented the matcha very well. 10/10. I still dream about it every night. Their to-go cups aren't very desirable because they're compostable and kind of fragile. If you get a hot drink, it kind of starts disintegrating and can't keep its composure too well. So I'd highly recommend getting the drinks inside to drink and experience some live action coffee bean roasting and grinding! Super friendly staff, and it was quite spacious inside. They also have a fancy locker for drinks placed for to-go. I thought that was pretty cool too!

Popped in here on a rainy day on a whim for something warm. They are a coffee collective, so if you are a coffee nerd this is definitely a place that needs to be on your list. They have a program where you can go in and roast your own beans (amazing)! I love how they support many small businesses (and is LGBTQ owner). This can definitely be a place to get gifts for your coffee connoisseurs. Very cozy place that seems great to catch up with a friend or make some progress on your current read. We got a hot hojicha latte and a cinnamon vanilla mocha. Both were SO DELICIOUS! Definitely of my favorite hojichas I have found. Run here, don't walk!

Another thing I appreciated was how spacious it was. There were plenty of tables and room to spread out, which was perfect since I came with my kiddo. Honestly my first thoughts were, "why is there a car in here?" but Im sure car enthusiasts would fancy seeing a luxurious prestige vehicle in a cafe and everyone else would find it interesting as it is unusual for a cafe to just have a car right in the middle of its establishment. Their menu isnt overwhelming and only has a few selections, theres good pastries to try out as well. Coffee was alright and the pastries were ok, overall I guess I was just more distracted by the business's set pieces. In any case, check the place out, parking can be a pain if it gets busy, typical downtown sac. Issues.

So growing up I remember whenever we would go to a local fast food joint and get a breakfast…read moresandwich-it was always a good experience. Funny thing is that years later when I had kids, none of them really loved breakfast sandwiches, so there was a long window of time when I just didn't eat them very much. Now of course they are adults and their palates have finally developed and they love breakfast sandwiches as much as I do, though now they prefer the fancy ones vs the cheap ones I grew up on. That brings us to Camellia Coffee Roasters. Just about every foodie person I respect or ranking article I came across on the subject always ranked this shop as a top 2 or 3 spot for breakfast sandwiches in the Sacramento-area.So you know I had to try em out. They are located in the historic R street district of Sacramento. They have their own parking lot, so parking is a breeze. Walking up to the shop they have both inside and outside tables for customers to enjoy their coffee and food. Both times I went to this shop there was a pretty good line to place an order and the line doesn't move too quickly but it's a pleasant environment-so it's not too bad to deal with. They do offer coffee and specialty drinks at their location-both times I ordered a hot mocha($7.00) Breakfast sandwiches here usually run around $13.50 and with that you get one item, either bacon, sausage or veggie and for $2.00 each you can add on additional items. So yes these sandwiches can get pretty pricey pretty fast. One of my visits, I also got a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese.($5.00) Here are some of the breakfast sandwiches we've tried: -a breakfast sandwich with bacon-sausage-veggie -a breakfast sandwich with bacon and veggie -a breakfast sandwich with bacon and chili verde pork Let's talk about em. First off the coffee is pretty good-solid mocha-had it twice and wouldn't hesitate to have it a third time-I liked it. My favorite breakfast sandwich is kind of obvious-the one with bacon-sausage and veggie. It truly was just made so perfect, the bread was so soft and pillowy with a great chew. The eggs were made so well, great texture, great flavor and it was the perfect amount where it didn't overwhelm the sandwich yet filled you up where you felt you were having a decent meal. The bacon, sausage, veggie combo might be too much for some but as a bonafide foodie who lives for awesome culinary experiences-this was the right combo-every bite was great and it was a bummer when it was gone. My second favorite was just the bacon and veggie-a lot of the same reasons, minus the extra benefit from the sausage, but still a truly standout sandwich. Here's the thing, the chili verde pork version was a weekend special and I mean no disrespect having it third ranked because it was an incredible dish, if those other two didn't exist, I would be screaming from the mountain tops telling others how great this was, but the other versions exist so this one's third. Overall, Camellias is a very special place serving a very special dish and we are lucky that a place like this exists in our city and I can say without a doubt that this is my favorite breakfast sandwich shop in Sacramento at this time.

They started out as a wholesale coffee roaster in Sacramento before opening their own café. I tried their signature Horchata Cold Brew and really enjoyed it. The sweetness was just right and not overpowering, making it a great drink for a hot summer day. They're also known for their breakfast sandwiches. The eggs were super fluffy and cooked perfectly. The café has high ceilings, good airflow, and a beautiful mural on the wall. The vibe is modern with an industrial feel. Parking is easy with free street parking nearby. A fun bonus: they have a claw machine where you can try your luck and win a coffee or breakfast sandwich. Hours: 7 AM-4 PM daily.

My kid was giving me a hard time & they all tried everything to make us both feel better. I had to take him out of the store because he was acting out. I was really embarrassed. I came back to grab my drinks & in addition to making my drinks so good, they gave me a gift card. I felt so embarrassed & grateful. I walked out quick because I was going to cry. Thank you to the whole staff!! You guys were incredible, patient, & made me feel better in an uncomfortable situation. Of all the coffee shops in Sacramento, Davis, or Folsom there is no better place to get coffee than Temple. Not just this location, every single location they have. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

It's hard to find a spot to sit and we usually end up at the counter sitting on barstools which isn't ideal if you're short. Most of the customers have laptops and will usually occupy a table for an extensive amount of time. While I have nothing against working at a coffee shop, it's challenging to find a spot to relax after a long day and a good meal. Parking is also a challenge. Best bet is to park in the garage because the lot is tiny and street parking is an even bigger challenge. Service has been consistently great. They do a great job of producing quality drinks without a long wait time. All in all, this is a convenient option, but not my favorite.

Yes, coffee prices are fancy coffee prices. There is variety here and the coffee actually has distinctive tastes. If I am back in the area, and in the mood to have some caffeine, I will stop by.
