This is my favoriteeeee matcha place. The quality is always so consistent and flavorful. They sometimes have seasonal flavors and each one i have tried has been so yummy. The people are always so quick and efficient. The place is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. It is very cutesy inside and you can tell there is a sense of life and community there which I am very fond of. There are lots of tables and cute picturesque lighting so if you want a nice place to get work done this is the perfect spot!! One of my favorite coffee shops in Sacramento! Pachamama Coffee has such a unique story. It is 100% owned and governed by coffee farmers from Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and Ethiopia, so you are basically supporting the farmers directly when you buy their coffee. I really like this concept! The coffee is smooth, rich, and not too bitter. Their cappuccino is creamy with a nice roasted coffee flavor. I also like the Honeybear Cold Brew: smooth, slightly sweet and refreshing. The Mexican Mocha is another good choice if you like chocolate with your coffee. The coffee shop is spacious with high ceilings, good natural light, brick walls, and an industrial style with metal tables and stools. There are communal tables, board games, and an area that can be rented for groups. It is also right by the Saturday farmers market, so it is a very convenient coffee stop after walking around the market. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Came in on a busy Saturday for their monthly (free) coffee course! This was a great experience and very informative on the process of how the beans make it to our overly caffeinated society. Staff were very chill and helpful. Dillon (if my memory is correct) was the one that ran our session...they were dooopppee. The interior is modern, relaxed and open. They have rooms you could rent (by the hour) and their coffee is pretty freakin good, especially if you prefer dark roasts like I do (the farmers blend is really good). Yes, coffee prices are fancy coffee prices. There is variety here and the coffee actually has distinctive tastes. If I am back in the area, and in the mood to have some caffeine, I will stop by. I have loved Pachamama for years. I first tried them as part of a coffee crawl and have been a big fan ever since. They have lots of bean varieties, certified organic by CCOF, and they have the best seasonal offerings. My last visit I got a London Fog just to get something other than my usual espresso drinks (it was a struggle not to get two drinks lol). My tea latte was creamy and full of flavor. Street parking is available and fairly easy to find, but can get busy on Saturday mornings due to the Midtown farmers market. Pachamama is one of the best coffee shops in Sac. Walked around the farmers market many times and I have always walked by but never bothered to come in since I don't drink coffee. But my friends wanted to get some coffee beans, and at first I wasn't going to order anything but the PANDAN matcha caught my eye. Absolutely delicious and wonderful. I stopped by Pachamama Coffee in Midtown to look for Peruvian coffee beans as a gift. I ended up buying a different blend and loved that they include a free coffee with the purchase. My barista helped me choose a drink from their specials board. I got a delicious gingerbread latte with oat milk, which was sweet and very invigorating. Everyone working here was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which set a nice tone. The shop is nicely decorated and spacious, with lots of tables, high ceilings, natural wood. It's perfect for hanging out, working, or meeting up with friends. They sell some nice branded merchandise too. Checked out Pachamama while waiting to set up for the Midtown Farmers Market this Saturday, always heard about it but never got a chance to try and I'm very happy that I did! FINALLY a Coffee shop that doesn't fill my cup with 75% ice!! (Or maybe that was just my barista) Wanted to try a new coffee shop and landed at Pachamama. As a big cold brew enthusiast I was very inclined to try the cold brew and, "surprised," was one of many words to describe my experience here. I was first asked if I wanted a regular or larger size which was kind of the first time I've been asked that at a coffee shop, I don't think the other shops I've been to had any other sizes for cold brew rather than a standard size. The price was pretty standard for any-other coffee shop costing almost $6 before tip. The cold brew flavor was bold, but not bitter and very very smooth which I liked very much. I personally added some Stevia which made it smoother. I really like the compostable cups they use, they have a neat design. The amount of ice my barista put was really the icing on the cake for me and made my cup of coffee so much more enjoyable. read more

Stumbled across this farmer owner Peruvian Cafe after having a meal at another neighboring Peruvian establishment, Paititi. Upon entering you can appreciate the clean simplicity of the cafe vibes. I instantly noticed a few private rooms that I believe were remote work spaces. Dining area was packed so opted on eating at the bar facing the windows. Ordered a campfire espresso, a salted dulce de leche espresso, and a strawberry almond scone. Campfire had a cute graham cracker crusted marshmallow- perfect for the cold weather. Scone was double the size of a traditional scone and was delicious. How was the salted dulce de leche espresso you ask? Please, please go and try for yourself because just my words won't do it justice! I opted for oat milk in mine. The flavor was exquisite! I drank it slow as to savor it as long for as I could. Stopped in this morning to grab a hot coffee while walking through the Midtown Farmers Market because it was freezing outside. The place was pretty busy, which is always a good sign, and it's such a quaint little spot. There's lots of room to relax, work, or just hang out. I loved that they even have a private room you can book and a coffee reserve/tasting space you can sign up for. I tried their seasonal Gingerbread Brûlée with oat milk (extra hot). They missed the "extra hot" at first but were so kind and offered to remake it. I was fine with it as is, and it was actually pretty good. I couldn't taste the ginger and spices as strongly as I expected, but it was still a solid, enjoyable coffee. If you're at the market and want a cozy coffee shop that's not one of the vendors, this is a great option. read more

I visit here a few times a week out of the convenience of its proximity to home. I appreciate that they offer a dark(er) roast option for drip coffee which is nearly impossible to find at third wave coffee places. The service here is fine as well. On my last visit I deviated from my normal order and got a 12 oz cold brew. It was served in a paper cup filled to the rim with dense ice cubes. The coffee was gone in 5 sips, there couldn't have been more than 4 oz of coffee in the cup. The total was $6.43 before the tip, I was super disappointed. I'm glad I declined leaving room for cream, I shudder to think what that would have looked like. I always cringed when my boomer dad would get coffee with me and grumble within earshot of cafe staff about paying over 5 bucks for a cup of coffee, but now I get it. This offense was egregious enough for me to feel his boomer rage. I don't think I'll be returning to Pachamama again after this. 1 star for decent service, 1 star for decent coffee, -3 stars for making me feel like an angry old man. read more

Unfortunately though they weren't super attentive and we waited like 10 minutes before getting up to check on our drinks and they weren't done. So we got to talking for another 10-15 minutes and were wondering why the drinks weren't called. We got to the counter and the multiple staff members were just standing there and never bothered to call our drinks. That was really poor service and rubbed me the wrong way enough to question whether I would come back if they would just let our drinks sit there getting cold without acknowledging to us that it was finished. They have a nice seating area inside, but it was completely full. The business was decorated for Christmas. Person working the cashier provided friendly service, the other employees not so much. The person announcing the drinks as they come out could work on enunciation and volume. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk. (The drink was complimentary with the purchase of the beans). I was lucky enough to be in the area and I've been wanting to visit this Pachamama location. I was able to find free street parking pretty close to the location. I got my summer-go-to, the iced blueberry matcha. It's the best blend of blueberry and matcha flavor. I got my matcha to-go but I was able to look around and admire the place. It's very cozy, I could see it being a spot that I'll love in the fall and winter. Also, the staff are SUPER nice, and had my matcha ready within a couple minutes. This place had so many positive reviews on Google and it said to be a great option in downtown Sacramento. I was looking forward to supporting this coffee shop, especially because I love local however, the cappuccino was made with two shots when my mom can only have it with one so I asked the barista to make another cappuccino with one shot and she asked me to pay for another one while I was happy to do that. I informed her that my mom could not even drink the double shot due to health issues. She wanted to take the cup back and still make me pay for another drink. I had only been to Pachamama's location in Davis before going to the Midtown location for the first time this past Saturday. I really should have been going more often as I've lived in Midtown for the 5.5 years! And I love locally run coffee shops (especially the ones that are walking distance from me)! Situated on 20th and J St, Pachamama is extremely warm and welcoming! I love brick-designed buildings, and the outside just screams "Midtown Sacramento." This location is situated more on the "20th St" side than the "J St" side which is nice, evading some of the havoc that J St brings. Inside the staff are incredibly friendly and the menu is simple and large, which makes it easy to order. I got the lavender cold brew and absolutely loved it! It was very refreshing and you could tell a lot of thought went into crafting this menu item. The coffee was light and vibrant tasting which I greatly enjoyed! Inside you will see signs and posters advertising how Pachamama prides itself on getting their coffee beans in an ethical manner. They even won a sustainability award in 2021. I'm a huge fan of all this, your wallet is a form of "democracy" and I try my best to support ethical businesses that treat their workers well and carry light carbon footprints. The only reason I am dinging a star from Pachamama is they are a hair expensive. My regular sized coffee was over $7. But I still want to go back and highly recommend Pachamama! read more

I've been a big fan of Pachamama since I tried them at their Davis location a couple of years ago! This midtown spot really was a great addition to the neighborhood. I love that from the outside, it looks small but is really spacious on the inside. Their overall set up (with a couple of tables out front) is quite inviting.
