Updating my review since Mast never fails to impress! I follow Mast Coffee on social media and always keep an eye out for their seasonal specials. When I saw PB&J matcha, I knew I had to have it, and it delivered! Matcha latte with housemade blueberry syrup and peanut butter cold foam. So good and a combination I've never seen before! I arrived on a weekday morning and service was quick. Their pastry case was full too! I stand corrected on their food offerings and I'm curious to come back and try more of their menu. While I was waiting for my order, I noticed that Mast is pet friendly, and it brightened my day seeing some patient, four legged friends in line. Mast is a cute, neighborhood coffee shop, and I appreciate that their social media does a better job of advertising what's available at 28th vs Broadway.
This Mast Coffee location is very spacious and a great place to go if you want to do some work or chill for a while with a cup of great coffee. There is a lot of seating and the seating area is open and large. On my visit to this Mast location there were many people enjoying their time here. Mast Coffee has top notch coffee that is refined and balanced very well. On my visit to Mast I saw that they were featuring a peanut butter latte. I'm not one to usually go for specials like this, but this one really got my interest. I ordered it and it was surprisingly amazing. The peanut butter cold foam on the top was thick and complimented the latte under it nicely. It was amazing how Mast got this balance right. You can really tell that Mast only serves the highest quality of coffee and this place is a must visit for any coffee lover.
Like this place because it has lots of seating to do work and the greenery makes it a bit more homey too. They have some speciality coffees and matchas you can try as well. I got the PB&J latte and it was delicious. Have a good range of pastries to select and some breakfast items like a veggie and meat burrito. Everyone is also really nice there and willing to accommodate requests like decaf options, switching some matcha options to latte and more.
$14 before tip for a banana mocha (change to almond milk) and an apricot danish. I quite love the danish. The cheese and flakiness of the bread was good. The apricot filling was a great sweet touch! I love mochas for their more chocolatey taste and when I saw banana, I knew I had to get it. Bananas are my favorite fruit and I want to try everything banana. First, having it separately, the mocha is very chocolatey; more than most mochas I've had. The banana flavoring is with the foam and it's delicious! Everyone knows a banana can overpower a lot of things, but after mixing it, the banana actually doesn't win. Man is the chocolate strong so I really wish it was less so the banana can come out more. The interior is lovely. I love the American aesthetic of concrete jungle mix with warehouses that most coffee shops have.
We don't visit this Mast Coffee as much as we should, each time we stop in I'm reminded how much we enjoy it. When we do stop in it's during our weekend walks through the city with our dog. The coffee shop is a lot bigger than most in the area and has plenty of seating available, including outdoor seating. It's very dog friendly and on our last visit there were at least five dogs lounging around while their people sipped coffee. We really like the iced chai here, and they also make a delicious flat white. They offer a variety of drinks as well as some pastries, so it's a great spot for breakfast or a quick snack.
We went on a Saturday morning and it was already full of people. The inside was big and open with plenty of seating. We decided to try some unique flavors: the Mont Blanc and cornflake latter. The Mont Blanc was not too sweet and had the perfect amount of caffeine. While it was not my preferred drink, my friend really liked it. I had the cornflake latte which tasted like your leftover milk from cornflake cereal with an espresso shot. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Definitely would come back here again to study and try some of their other drinks
Such a cute place to have a nice beverage and hang out. This place has been a cycle of so many different coffee shops but the interior always gives the same industrial vibe. If anything, I feel like there is even make space and seating than before. They have some interesting drinks. I ordered the Tokyo fog with a both of simple syrup and it was delicious. Definitely unique because of the black metallic tea. It didn't taste mineral-y but it had an interesting flavor. This place is also dog friendly and there is a beautiful covered patio for patrons to enjoy. They do put out dog bowls for water and even offered my dog a treat! The staff are polite, patient, and open to answering questions.
Their blueberry matcha was delicious! It was a great balance of both flavors. The capri was also very refreshing on this hot day. I love the aesthetic of the cafe, it's roomy and gives off a warehouse vibe. The barista, Chris was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave me and my friends great recommendations and made our drinks with care!
Coffee was well made, they had some very interesting flavors. The Service was great, very friendly person taking our order. They made sure to make us feel welcome by some genuine small talk. I didn't really care for the ambience of the room. The seating was very uncomfortable and even though I could see the vibes, it didn't feel like a place I could sit in too long. I'm willing to try the other location though!
I am so incredibly happy this is so close to my place in midtown. The interior is a clean, industrial feel with some modern touches. It is pretty spacious and the times I've gone it's either pretty quiet and other times pretty packed between people either working/studying or catching up with friends. The service is always friendly and no matter if the line is super short or super long they work to make sure your drink is good every time. I have yet to try their pastries or hot foods but hear nothing but good things. Their matcha drinks are truly so good. I've had their standard iced matcha and I tried their more elaborate drinks. The elaborate drinks tend to be on the sweeter side and that's my preference, also the blueberry syrup is truly so good and not artificial tasting. I was pleasantly surprised by the PB&J matcha, the peanut butter cold foam wasn't super sweet and mixed with the blueberry syrup it truly was so special and I could still taste the matcha.
The Maple Cinnamon Latte and Iced Matcha Latte are both solid options here. We are visiting from LA and were impressed with how spacious this coffee shop is, and how friendly the service was. Tons of available tables for working/studying, and the furniture is unique and hip. Would definitely return the next time we are in the area.
Came here for the first time after multiple recommendations from friends and am glad I finally did. This coffee shop has tons of seating inside, and would be perfect for a drink when you want to read or hangout with friends. The inside is filled with natural bright lighting, the baristas were super nice, and the drinks were delicious. It also looked like there was seating outside and people were hanging out there, great for days when the weather is nice. I got the maple and cinnamon latte and my friend got the pumpkin chai. Both were so good and I recommend both, but the pumpkin chai was my fave. It was sweet but not overly sugary and the flavor was perfect. The latte was good even after the ice melted and didn't taste watered down. They also sell bagels from Forgotten bakery and other pastries but didn't try those. Will definitely be back!

The first thing that came to mind when I took a sip of my drink: deeelightful! It's pretty unique to have a pb&j matcha but was not expecting this presentation. The peanut butter foam topping was light and salty. I asked the staff about sweetness level since I don't like it too sweet so they adjusted it and gave me extra blueberry syrup on the side. I've gotten this at least 4x in the last month and every time was consistently good. read more
I was visiting a family friend at a local hospital and needed some coffee. So I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and saw that Mast Coffee was very close so I decided to take a short walk to the coffee shop. When I walked into this very inviting, wide-open coffee shop, I immediately felt welcome thanks to the friendly greetings from the employees. When I ordered my coffee, I decided to go with an iced banana mocha ($7.75) and an Americano. ($5.25) The service was very quick and my banana mocha looked really good. It was topped with a banana cold foam over their classic iced mocha. The cold foam was made in-house and it was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet and paired well with the iced mocha. The Americano was just ok--it did the job and got me going for the rest of the day but was not out of this world or anything-I would order it again though. Overall, I'd say this is a very solid coffee shop, and I'm glad we have Mast Coffee here in Sacramento. I had a good experience, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more
Got the corn flake latte and Tokyo fog. Husband rated the corn flake latte as a 4/5, was a bit on the sweet side and he wished there were actual corn flakes in there. The Tokyo fog was ok, tasted like a matcha latte but the tea cut down on the creamy richness. Huge covered outdoor patio and dog friendly environment is the pain plus. read more

Solid coffee spot! Came here to lock in with a friend. The interior is giving modern industrial, plenty of seating, outlets available, and our drinks were tasty. I got a lavendar latte w/oat milk and my friend got their Tokyo Fog. My danish was surprisingly delicious! It was so buttery and flakey. The apple slices on top were fresh! Idk where they get these from but it was 10/10. read more

I loved this place. A friend suggested meeting there to cowork and it was perfect. There is so much space. Lots of tables inside that are near outlets. There is a patio area, but I didn't see any outlets outside. The drinks we got were good. My friend used their wifi and didn't have any issues. They also have a gender neutral restroom. Plenty of free 2-hour street parking. Can't go wrong. It's right at the corner and can be hard to miss. read more

Visiting my best friend, she is well aware of how much I love matcha. Being the best friend she is, she recommends we try Mast Coffee. This is where we started our day and oh my gosh it is so good! We arrived on a quiet weekday morning. We both loved the layout of the cafe. Super duper industrial with lots of natural light and cool stuff to look at. There's plenty of seating as well as it's quite spacious. Booths and single tables and chairs are available for all party sizes. The service was efficient, very easy for us to order and we received our drinks quickly. As a matcha girlie, I was intrigued by their specialties. I got the Tokyo Fog with Oat Milk which is equivalent to a London Fog with Matcha. The matcha was of great quality, looking at both the color and tasting it. The drink itself was on the fragrant side, light, and sweet. My best friend enjoyed their Banana Mocha which looks beautiful. I would love to come back here to try their other offerings! If you're a coffee or tea lover, you need to try Mast Coffee! There are a few locations but their Midtown one is quite nice! Located off 28th St. there's street parking all around. Grateful my best friend took me here and I can't wait to come back with her! read more

Perfect inner city coffee spot. They've got plenty of seating and good WiFi to work, easy chill vibes, tasty bites and breakfast items, and most importantly GREAT coffee. Great spot to just hammer out emails and get some heads down work done. read more
I feel like Mast Coffee is an underrated Coffee shop in Sacramento. I stopped by around late lunch time around 2:00 PM and was surprised with the interior space. I came not knowing anything about this coffee shop as I didn't look into pictures of the location as I wanted to see it for myself and I was pretty surprised. I would have assumed it was a small shop with outside patio seating but the inside was pretty huge with so much seating. The aesthetic here is real nice. I usually get plain cold brews at any coffee place and I was very surprised by the price. For $4.50 I think it's one of the cheapest places to get a cold brew here in Sacramento (out of all the places I've visited) and I hope that doesn't change! Other places charge between $5-$6. The cold brew here is pretty standard flavor and just right of what you'd expect a cold brew to taste like. They have a little table for sugars and such which is very nice. I've visited some coffee shops that don't have that which I always find interesting. I definitely consider Mast Coffee a place I'll revisit if I'm ever wanting a cold brew! read more

This is coo lil walking distance to sutter so if you are visiting anybody at sutter great coffee spot. We ordered the matcha and coffee pretty good! Also, the empanada is also good. Vibes hit the spot. Great place for being productive. Lots of breathing room. read more

I love this Mast Coffee location! The location is tucked in the corner of a neighborhood so you will have to be on the lookout for street parking. I absolutely adore the open space layout. Plenty of seating available for those who need a space to work, study, or chat and catch up with friends or family. They do play music over a speaker, however it's not obnoxiously loud. Staff is friendly and always doing their best to get orders out swiftly. My go to is an iced maple & cinnamon latte with almond milk and if I feel like spoiling myself I'll get a pastry from their display :) Overall a great location with delicious drinks and pastries! Try it out if you're ever in the area or if you've been thinking about trying this place--use this review as your sign to visit! read more

Loved popping in to grab a matcha and a pastry. The girl upfront was kind and helpful with my questions. The inside is very open and minimal. Good energy flow (: I ended up going for their seasonal blueberry matcha with a peach danish that had a very tasty lemon curd. Will be back to try their coffee very soon read more
Recently, one of my favorite coffee shops. Their coffee is so delicious in their flavor. Combinations are so refreshing. They have a big industrial space and a cute outdoor seating area. The seats are very comfy, but the coffee is worth it! read more
Met up with my book club here on a chilly weekend morning and was so glad we chose this spot! There was lots of searing both inside and outside , great friendly environment, very dog friendly, and delicious coffee! I ordered a hot mocha for there and was so glad I did! The mug was a warm chocolatey hug in a cup with a beautiful design on top. Will definitely be back! read more
My favorite coffee shop ever. Constantly in here doing homework or work related stuff. In my opinion, the better of the two locations although I love them both, this one just offers more variety of seating as well as outdoor seating, which is super nice in the summertime. There's a good amount of parking around the building as well and they use skylights so depending on the time of the day, the mood really changes on the music always matches the vibe. Definitely recommend their chai. The hot chai is super good in the winter and the ice dry is just as good at any other time of year, and the Matcha is good too! Used the space for a work meeting and it was a great experience. Plenty of seating and charging ports even though it was BUSY. Didn't feel rushed either which was lovely. Plenty of other patrons were also working or catching up with friends so it was a very relaxed but open vibe. The drink was delicious as per usual and I loved the cup it was is. Super light and didn't let the heat travel to your fingers hard (like didn't feel HOT to the touch if that makes sense) was a nice warm. The bagel was delicious too, love that they carry forgotten bakery bagels! I did have to walk a little from my parking spot but it's a nice area to walk through and gave me a chance to enjoy the weather. read more
Mast coffee has got to be one of my favorite local coffee shops ! They have two locations in town, but I favor this location the most since it's closer to the freeway . They know how to make a nice strong cup of joe , and that's what keeps me coming back ! The ambience is also very nice . If you're looking for a strong coffee and good vibes , make sure to make a visit to Mast coffee ! read more

Awesome Place To Meet Up & Post SITREP Cyrus, William and I were meeting up to discuss coding for a video game in development stages, but it was time to try a new coffee house none of us had been too, and so Mast Coffee won the coin tosses! LE MENU DeLISH chai and mochas. We probably had one of each, Cyrus buying one round and I the second round. Taste was outstanding, the presentations were elegant, and there was a nice serving of coffee each time! SPACE Outstanding physical place with plenty of room, tables, and bathroom. Only really has outlets under bar computer bar with uncomfortable stools (the ones with hip fencing) - tables don't have outlets, so be warned. PARKING Unless you are blessed to live nearby to walk and/or have a T Zone parking permit, be aware of the one hour limit in front or two hour limits on other side of block by INK. The ambiance was wonderful--clean, calming, and beautifully minimalist with a Japandi feel. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient, which made the visit even nicer. The chai was delicious! The matcha wasn't my personal favorite (even though staff recommended it), though, and I think it might taste better iced--so that could be worth trying for others. Overall, it's a lovely space with great service, but based on my personal taste, I don't think I'll be back. Still, a spot worth trying if you're in the area. read more
What a amazing execution of the coffee craft! Mast coffee located on the corner of 28th and O St takes a bit longer but the so worth the wait. I've had a few mochas and they've all been fantastic. And if you're into the craft, watching they is so much fun. Another cool thing about this place is they allow dogs and have some great doggie treats. read more
