    Iced lavender matcha latte
    Arturo B.

The staff were very friendly and they had a shop dog! I loved walking in and smelling their freshly roasted beans. Their drinks are fairly priced. I paid $12 for an iced lavender matcha latte and iced americano. The space was very clean and industrial looking, making it blend well with the roasting equipment. Good spot to buy coffee beans if you make coffee at home.

First? I was walking my dog one afternoon in OP and I was looking for a quick caffeine fix, but Faria and Old Souls had "no dog" signs up (service dogs okay), so I gave up, but I kept walking until I stumbled upon Black Sails who had no objection to little Namu (+1 for being so dog friendly) This is a great addition to neighborhood. I had matcha latte that was solid. Great matcha flavor, was not sweet, and with great a great milk quality and ratio. I can only make assumptions, but I bet the rest of the menu is quality. This is a locally owned, industrially chic, high end coffee shop. I didn't appreciate a food menu (yet?), but because their business is coffee. I briefly spoke to Hayden who clearly was knowledgeable about coffee and had been doing this for some time. So, when you come here, you are getting treatment from apt and experienced barista. Price point is a pinch higher fyi, but that's just where the market is taking us, but I still recommend this join to the above average coffee lover. They seemed to have an esoteric assortment of beans including an anaerobic offering. Looking forward to coming back.

Great neighborhood spot! This is a great local coffee roaster than just opened up. We ordered a latte and a dirty chai, both were super tasty. We also got some medium roast beans that we're excited to try. This place is super fun and pirate themed. Come try it!

What a treasure that's landed in Oak Park. Black Sails offers some truly delicious and unique coffee. Service was quick and friendly, with Maple being the absolute best at her job. The space itself is small but beautiful, with some seating right up against the roaster. I can't wait to try out more of their menu, do not sleep on this coffee spot.

Very refreshing. Love this spot. Love the vibes.

Very refreshing blackberry lemonade. Their seasonal offerings are always soo yummy. I cant say Ive had a bad drink/experience here. Love the place, Love the vibes :)

Great latte, the seasonal Toast N' Jam was not too sweet but strong blackberry flavor. Will be back.

From the moment we walked in, I noticed all the little details that made the space feel so inviting, like lots of plants, good music, and a cozy atmosphere that made me want to stay awhile (which, we did). It's the kind of place where you can meet up with a friend, get some work done, or simply enjoy a slow morning. The coffee was excellent, and I have to mention the chocolate croissant because it was easily one of the most chocolate-filled croissants I've had in a long time. So good! Another thing I appreciated was how spacious it was. There were plenty of tables and room to spread out, which was perfect since I came with my kiddo. She loved the open space and even turned it into her own little dance floor while I enjoyed my coffee for a bit. Overall, this is a wonderful local spot with a welcoming atmosphere, delicious coffee, and plenty of space to relax or work. I will definitely be back!

I ordered a Hojicha, I was considering a matcha but they only had one option (the matcha cloud, matcha foam on coconut water). The Hojicha was good, not the best one I've had but good. The cups are relatively small, probably the smallest I've ever seen. It was $7, not bad, but for the price it could be a bit bigger. The service was ok. The person that took my order responded to my questions and was nice enough. Overall, a cute place worth a visit for the decor but I don't think I'd come back!

One thing I especially appreciated is how they treat pets. It's clear they care, every dog that came in got a treat, which was a really nice touch. The coffee is excellent, not over-roasted like in a lot of places. While you're waiting in line, they even offer samples, which is awesome. I had a latte with regular milk and was very happy with it. As for the food, the bacon and onion croissant really stood out, very tasty ( though I imagine it would be even better warm ). The caramel apple cheesecake was also incredible, delicious and not overly sweet, even though the name might make you think otherwise. It's perfectly serviceable for a cafe, but the ambiance isn't on par when you compare them. The service, however, was superb. I found the baristas there to be very friendly and warm.
