Blueberry Muffin & Rise and Shine seasonal drink
    Robert S.

Temples coffee is amazing, the rise and shine seasonal drink has an amazing Crema and is pleasantly complimented by the grapefruit soda water. The blueberry muffin was perfect not overly sugary and very moist. Service was an A+ very friendly.

Oooo! Adjacent to the back patio of Revolution Wine Bar & Kitchen is Temple Coffee - and the gorgeous smell of their coffee wafts out to greet you and invite you in. The ambiance is rustic shabby chic with well worn brick walls and a modern seating area both inside and out. The baristas are friendly and helpful as well as make a fantastic vanilla latte...with amazing art on it as well! My latte was sophisticated elegance and sublime in flavor...making for a relaxing break as I sat with my back in the sun soaking up the afternoon there...a perfect coffee break.

We've been coming to this location for over 13 years, always a pleasant experience. Our go to is their Mexican mocha, we enjoy them both hot and iced. Parking is very tight, we are lucky enough to have it close to our office so it's just a short walk.

Temple coffee alley way between Sacramento co-op and coffee shop

My go to coffee stop after I do my grocery shopping at the Sacramento Food Co-op next door. Just follow the coffee sign and walk through the alleyway where you see the anteater or armadillo thing. Then you'll find Temple coffee on the other side. This location is real busy all the time with people studying or working, so the line is often long but it moves decently quick. They also have a small parking lot for this location, but all the spaces are often filled, so come early if you don't want to worry about street parking or pay for meter parking.

Perfection! While visiting Sac I heard the locals love Temple coffee and knew I had to give it a shot. I couldn't decide what to get so I got an iced matcha latte and the iced coffee and both were delicious but the matcha was the star. I got matcha with almond milk and no sweetener and it was SO good! No chalky flavor, no bitterness... so smooth. The service was quick even with the line out the door. So happy I got to try this place because it definitely lives up to the hype. Can't wait to come back!

Arguably one of the best Coffee shops here in Sacramento that I've been to. When I think of "Coffee Shop," this location pretty much defines it for me, in other words this place is what I feel like a coffee shop should be. I feel like Temple lives up to their given reputation. There are many locations around Sacramento and I went to the one on S Street and the service at this spot did not disappoint. The line was to the door when I arrived which is probably typical in the mornings, and as I got closer to the front, the kind worker took my order, didn't even have to wait to get to the register to have my order taken which was pretty nice. Ordered a plain cold brew and honestly it's one of the best ones I've had around Sac. The taste was just right for my liking, it was very earthy and smooth in my opinion. I'll definitely be back.

I don't know how I overlooked on writing a review for Temple Coffee on S Street. I love coming here on the weekend after the gym early in the morning and treat myself to a nice cup of special coffee/tea and a pastry/muffin. I usually drink black coffee during the week, so this is a treat! This location is always busy because of the open space and comfortable seats/couch. It's common to see a lot of people with their laptops and headphones. It's next to Revolution Wine, Pushkin's, and Sac Food Coop. There is a small outdoors parking lot next door, limited street parking and my last option is to park at the garage structure if I can't find parking. It's free to park inside the garage on the weekend. I'm not sure about weekday. I always like to try their seasonal drinks. For today's visit, I had the WINTER BLISS. Its peppermint tea steeped in chocolate coconut milk & soy milk, topped with dark cocoa sugar/sprinkles. Yeah, I'm trying to hold on to winter a little longer before we have to observe day light savings next Sunday. All I can say is the drink reminds me of christmas~winter~snow. It was perfectly sweeten with a distinct taste of the peppermint tea. Next week, I'll be back to my Matcha Latte or Green Jasmine Teas ;-) Don't leave without getting a piece of pastry. I like their almond croissants and muffins. I want to say it's sourced from a local bakery but I'm not sure. I have to remember to ask the next time. The baristas are always friendly and happy! Temple Coffee is distributed nationwide, with eight coffee houses in Sacramento area. Skip Starbucks for a change and support local!

Came here for Mother's Day Surprisingly not that crowded I was by myself because I wanted to enjoy my coffee hot for once I couldn't find any parking There is a small parking in front of the coffee shop but it was full And I couldn't find street parking either There is a parking garage I found conveniently close So I parked there , I'm not sure how much I need to pay for it yet . Service was wonderful and quick Barista helped me with picking my order and my order was ready before I even finished paying . Outside seating is beautiful with singing birds around me. I ordered a cappuccino with Oat milk and a hint of vanilla . It tasted delicious, and not overly sweet. Will definitely come back again.

One of the many decent coffee shops in good ol Sac! I like the rustic vibes of the place. Ordered a vanilla latte, which is pretty generic, but it was good. The pastries are humongous, and only tried the cheese danish so far but it was also good.

First time at this location. Came here for a coffee date. This is a nice coffee shop. They offer indoors and outdoors seatings. Got there at 5pm weeknight and there were no available seatings inside. Luckily it wasn't extremely cold outside. Since it was my first time there, I thought the process was to order at the cashier. Boy, I was wrong lol. You place your order on the left counter with a barista then walk to the right to pay at the cashier. The staffs were friendly and told me to not worry about it. They said most customers did the same thing! =P I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate. It came in a to go cup. The chocolate was hot and definitely a good way to keep me warm while sitting outside.

This coffee shop is always popping!! Sacramento peeps know where to go for great coffee! This coffee is rich but smooth and just delish!! The service is quick and spot on. Attention to detail and fun atmosphere- lots of outside seating too.

Ask the Community - Temple Coffee

Does anyone know which brand of oat milk they use here?

Can we park inside the parking garage next to the coffee shop?

The parking garage next door is for the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op.

    Are there outdoor plugs?

James is incorrect. There are zero plugs outside.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed. I see at least one sitting outside in the patio whenever I go to Temple. Enjoy!

Does the outdoor patio have heat lamps?

Thanks for the question! We do not have heat lamps on our patio.

I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

They have a parking lot but it's shared with other businesses and always seems to be full, however there's a good amount of street parking and I found a spot closeby no problem. I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!

Temple is one of those places where the espresso tastes like someone with a chemistry degree and a poet's soul got together and decided the rest of us deserved better mornings. The baristas manage to be both calm and alarmingly competent. You ask one tiny question about beans and suddenly you're getting a TED Talk from a caffeinated forest monk. And the people here actually talk to each other. Not in the fake networking-event way where everyone's secretly scanning for status. More like artists, students, organizers, remote workers, philosophers, exhausted grad students, startup people, and neighborhood regulars all accidentally sharing the same living room. Clean space. Serious coffee. Zero snob energy. Headquarters of the Revolution. Special mention to Sam, who was managing Temple Coffee Roasters when I walked in. You can tell immediately when someone genuinely enjoys helping people, and Sam absolutely does. She told me she loves adjusting drinks to fit exactly what people want instead of treating coffee like some untouchable sacred formula -- stronger, softer, sweeter, whatever makes the person in front of her happy. And she said something deeper still: helping people feel good is actually pretty easy... although sometimes it's hard. That kind of sums service up. Sam has that rare combination of warmth, competence, patience, and calm that quietly changes your mood. All of a sudden you feel like being kinda kinder. The coffee was excellent, but people like Sam are the reason places become part of a city's soul instead of just another café.

The drinks are a little pricey for the size, so this will probably be more of a treat-yourself spot for me, but overall I had a great experience. Good wifi, good seating, great vibes all around. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks Chloe !

I came in right before 10:30 on a Sunday morning and it was quiet but closer to 11 it was busy and…read morenowhere for anyone to sit. My cappuccino was good, no complaints. It was 5 bucks which is unheard of in midtown! Cute vibes inside and lots of people working and friends hanging out etc. The fancy car in the middle of the shop is fun for a second and then it's like can we move this for more seating? It's a nice idea but it takes up too much of the space and doesn't totally make sense. So minus one star for that. I think when it's nice out then there is outdoor seating which probably makes the ambience nicer but I was there on a rainy day.

Love the old school vibes of this place! The place is big…read moreenough to chill with your friends or have a coffee date. You can either order with the staff or they have a kiosk to order from as well. Staff is super friendly! They let me taste their teas to see what I would like for my tea base drinks. Coffe drinks I tried: 1) Durian coffee -this was one the THE BEST variation of durian coffee that I've tried - liked that the blended the durian flavor in the cream foam and included pieces of fruit -the smell isn't over baring and just enough flavor mixed into the coffee where you don't feel duped, but has a well balance coffee to durian taste 2) Egg coffee -a solid egg coffee!! Would recommend 3) Coconut coffee -this is a blended ice drink -I typically like coconut Vietnamese coffee, however this wasn't the best variation I have as I did wish it was a little sweeter 4) Taro coffee -rather than a cream top like some of their other drinks, this was more of taro paste with bits in the Vietnamese coffee -it wasn't too sweet so had a stronger coffee taste Tea bases: -was told they seep their tea for about 8 hours to give it that strong flavor ! -green tea - usually not a green tea person when it comes to boba drinks (only by itself) since at times the fruit flavor over mask the tea but this place makes it potent -black tea - they say this one it not popular which is a bummer cause I love black tea -herbal tea- good flavor -jasmine - didn't get to try this tea base but I am sure it taste just as good as the others 1) Peach green tea -beyond refreshing! -loved the fruit bits and peach sliced in the drink 2) Lychee green tea -lychee fruit and lychee jelly included! -Loved the strong tea taste with the fruitiness Pandan waffle Durian waffle -both of these were delicious, good flavor and best right away while it is hot! Overall: One of the best Vietnamese coffee places in the area that I enjoy going to. Quality drinks that do not disappoint.

Lovely Vietnamese cafe!…read more We ordered an egg coffee and banana matcha, both good. The interior and seating are cute with a few options to sit. The design is old fashioned yet modern with a digital ordering interface. While the banana matcha was not my taste, the egg coffee was great! The coffee was strong yet good with a pandan waffle side! I anticipated staying up all night and did. This is for those who drink espresso or ca phe sua regularly. The tasty waffle helped balance the caffeine a little. The bathroom is cute and decorated with so much aesthetic, but the downside is no toilet seat covers.
