I just went to this location. Sunday, March 1st, 2026 @ 11am. The ENTIRE staff there especially the ones making the coffee were incredible. My kid was giving me a hard time & they all tried everything to make us both feel better. I had to take him out of the store because he was acting out. I was really embarrassed. I came back to grab my drinks & in addition to making my drinks so good, they gave me a gift card. I felt so embarrassed & grateful. I walked out quick because I was going to cry. Thank you to the whole staff!! You guys were incredible, patient, & made me feel better in an uncomfortable situation. Of all the coffee shops in Sacramento, Davis, or Folsom there is no better place to get coffee than Temple. Not just this location, every single location they have. We usually go to this Temple location for coffee after dining at Revolution. While the coffee and pastries are good, this location seems to always be packed. It's hard to find a spot to sit and we usually end up at the counter sitting on barstools which isn't ideal if you're short. Most of the customers have laptops and will usually occupy a table for an extensive amount of time. While I have nothing against working at a coffee shop, it's challenging to find a spot to relax after a long day and a good meal. Parking is also a challenge. Best bet is to park in the garage because the lot is tiny and street parking is an even bigger challenge. Service has been consistently great. They do a great job of producing quality drinks without a long wait time. All in all, this is a convenient option, but not my favorite. read more

Parking: challenging as it is in residential areas so we have to be mindful of the residents parking as well. Be prepared to park a few blocks away and walk. It is in nice area of town though. This place has inside and outside patio seatings. Both are set up with long communal tables. A lot of people studying, hanging out in here. Business has good traffic and flow. Price is decent. Temple Coffee is one of my main go-to coffee shops when I need to grab some coffee and work for an hour while I'm remote. Their coffee is among the best in the Sacramento area. I had a breve latte with an extra shot. I also tried a piece of their coffee cake. Both were absolutely delicious. The latte was creamy and rich and the coffee cake not overly sweet but just right. They always have abundant seating which is much appreciated. Service was prompt and the barista super friendly as she slammed out drink after drink. Great overall experience and definitely will be back to this or one of the many others around town. read more

The service is sometimes slow because they take their time with the handcrafted drinks. So it definitely just depends if you value a quickly made drink over a carefully made one that may not be as yummy. The ambiance is always on point. Perfection! While visiting Sac I heard the locals love Temple coffee and knew I had to give it a shot. I couldn't decide what to get so I got an iced matcha latte and the iced coffee and both were delicious but the matcha was the star. I got matcha with almond milk and no sweetener and it was SO good! No chalky flavor, no bitterness... so smooth. The service was quick even with the line out the door. So happy I got to try this place because it definitely lives up to the hype. My go to coffee stop after I do my grocery shopping at the Sacramento Food Co-op next door. Just follow the coffee sign and walk through the alleyway where you see the anteater or armadillo thing. Then you'll find Temple coffee on the other side. This location is real busy all the time with people studying or working, so the line is often long but it moves decently quick. They also have a small parking lot for this location, but all the spaces are often filled, so come early if you don't want to worry about street parking or pay for meter parking. read more

Arguably one of the best Coffee shops here in Sacramento that I've been to. When I think of "Coffee Shop," this location pretty much defines it for me, in other words this place is what I feel like a coffee shop should be. I feel like Temple lives up to their given reputation. There are many locations around Sacramento and I went to the one on S Street and the service at this spot did not disappoint. The line was to the door when I arrived which is probably typical in the mornings, and as I got closer to the front, the kind worker took my order, didn't even have to wait to get to the register to have my order taken which was pretty nice. Ordered a plain cold brew and honestly it's one of the best ones I've had around Sac. The taste was just right for my liking, it was very earthy and smooth in my opinion. I don't know how I overlooked on writing a review for Temple Coffee on S Street. I love coming here on the weekend after the gym early in the morning and treat myself to a nice cup of special coffee/tea and a pastry/muffin. I usually drink black coffee during the week, so this is a treat! This location is always busy because of the open space and comfortable seats/couch. It's common to see a lot of people with their laptops and headphones. It's next to Revolution Wine, Pushkin's, and Sac Food Coop. There is a small outdoors parking lot next door, limited street parking and my last option is to park at the garage structure if I can't find parking. It's free to park inside the garage on the weekend. I'm not sure about weekday. I always like to try their seasonal drinks. For today's visit, I had the WINTER BLISS. Its peppermint tea steeped in chocolate coconut milk & soy milk, topped with dark cocoa sugar/sprinkles. Yeah, I'm trying to hold on to winter a little longer before we have to observe day light savings next Sunday. All I can say is the drink reminds me of christmas~winter~snow. It was perfectly sweeten with a distinct taste of the peppermint tea. Next week, I'll be back to my Matcha Latte or Green Jasmine Teas ;-) Don't leave without getting a piece of pastry. Came here for Mother's Day Surprisingly not that crowded I was by myself because I wanted to enjoy my coffee hot for once I couldn't find any parking There is a small parking in front of the coffee shop but it was full And I couldn't find street parking either There is a parking garage I found conveniently close So I parked there , I'm not sure how much I need to pay for it yet . First time at this location. Came here for a coffee date. This is a nice coffee shop. They offer indoors and outdoors seatings. Got there at 5pm weeknight and there were no available seatings inside. You place your order on the left counter with a barista then walk to the right to pay at the cashier. The staffs were friendly and told me to not worry about it. I came here with my niece, and we walked in on a Wednesday morning. The line was out of the door, which was a little silly. They had a yummy coffee sample called Wonderlust, which I enjoyed when we ordered The ladies behind the counter were extremely sweet and had great customer service throughout when I placed my order. I actually asked for coffee cake, but instead got this little pumpkin donut thing which wasn't bad, but not what I ordered. The drinks were good and there's plenty of outdoor seating, which is nice. They are playing cute Lofi coffee shop music inside and it's a nice place to get some work done considering it seems that there's ample seating despite the long line. To me it seems like it's a place for a lot of state workers or people working at the hospital to go. It's also right next to the co-op, which is literally one of my absolute favorite grocery stores. read more

I've been coming to this location for many years now and it's the closest just coming from Elk Grove. I think I've been to almost all of the Temple locations within the Sacramento area but still find myself coming back to the S St location. It's small but cozy. There are indoor and outdoor seating. Usually I like to sit and sip but sometimes to go has been my option lately. I do love that they offer a seasonal menu and changes every year with a few returning staples. My go to lately has been an oat milk cappuccino (Dharma) and the Enlightenment which is a Jasmine tea steeped in soy milk with added honey. Something so simple as a Jasmine tea is great on cold fall/winter mornings or if you're sick. It's the perfect hug in a cup. Service is always great and if you come often, the baristas remember your order! I don't come often but I try to. I enjoy seeing the same baristas everytime I visit, so longevity is a thing at Temple. Also, if you buy a tumbler, bring it back to use for your drinks and get a discount. read more

I tried the limited drink called Camp Crush at Temple, which is made with matcha, sparkling water, and watermelon syrup. I was so excited to order it, but it ended up being really disappointing. The drink didn't taste like matcha at all and instead came across more like a generic green juice. The watermelon flavor was also completely missing, which made the overall experience fall flat. For a seasonal special, I expected something refreshing and balanced, but unfortunately this one didn't deliver. This 1-star rating is solely based on the Camp Crush drink and this review is only about that item. However, I do love Temple in general and their Enlightenment is my absolute favorite!!! The first time I went here, I tried their iced matcha which I think was decent! My best friend raved to me about Temple, a popular specialty coffee company based out of Sacramento. How could I miss the opportunity to support this locally owned and operated cafe? Inside is quite spacious--open windows, plenty of wooden tables, and cozy music with brick walls. The outdoor patio is lush and great for basking in the fresh air. As a gal partial to tea and with my friend's recommendation--I went for the Enlightenment. It was pure harmony for my body! The Jasmine green tea was floral, fragrant, and soothing while the honey gave it a slight sweetness. The soy milk was perfectly creamy since I don't drink dairy. I'd love to try their other special offerings but it seems that coffee and tea are widely available and perfected here! There are several Temple Coffee Roasters locations throughout Sacramento. This one in Midtown seems to be quite popular and busy with locals. Parking is available in the free lot. As I've been (slowly) learning more and more about Sacramento's growing food scene, two things have become increasingly clear - there's an awesome beer culture in the city and there's a seemingly abundant number of coffee shops that can be found. Both suggest that folks up here really appreciate the art and skills that goes into crafting the two, but I can't help but wonder if perhaps folks overindulging in the former also helped to create the latter as well. Either way, I'm certainly not complaining - I always enjoy a tasty, cold pint of beer, but really, it never hits the spot the way a delicious cup of coffee does! Even though my first visit to Temple Coffee came more as a byproduct of wanting to check out Pushkin's Bakery (it's located on the other side of the building), the dynamic was actually reversed for all of the other trips I've made to the two. Honestly, I just really like almost everything about this place - the decor is a bit trendy and hipster (but not in an obnoxious way), the general vibe is warm and casual, and, most importantly, the menu offerings are rather impressive. Whether you're looking for a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, Temple's menu has something for nearly every taste - French press, drip, cold brew, Americano, Gibraltar, matcha lattes, chai lattes, roughly twenty varieties of teas, Mexican Hot Chocolates, seasonal drinks, and so much more. Plus, the beans they use changes regularly, originating from countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, and Ethiopia, just to name a few, and even note if they're women produced, which is awesome of them to highlight. Of course, what's even more important is that the coffee (and tea) they put out tastes good and, yes, I can confirm - the coffee they put out does, in fact, taste good! The first time I was here, I opted to get their FRENCH PRESS ($varies), which I don't often see offered at a lot of places. Even when I do, they certainly don't give you a French press to take with you to your table so that you can pour it when you're ready (they also give you a timer so you know when they suggest pouring it out). As for how it tasted, it was terrific - I liked how robust and smooth the flavor was. In addition, I've also had their DRIP COFFEE ($4.25 large) and their COLD BREW ($6), which are a bit more straightforward, but hit the spot perfectly and also don't take as long if you are ordering to-go. Since all of my visits here have included walking over to Pushkin's, I've yet to try any of the baked goodies Temple has to offer. However, I plan on making a point of it the next time I'm here, as everything always looks so good in the display case (and in the photos on Yelp). If there was one "bad" thing about this place, it'd be that they're usually pretty busy, so snagging a table can be a little hit or miss. However, between its super convenient location and the wealth of street parking around here, Temple is perfect for a quick stop to get a caffeine fix when I'm on the go! read more
