    Lunch time!

Service was nice. Cool ambiance. We flew in from NC and this was our first stop. The original wings - AMAZING. Boneless - not good IMO. Sampler was good - Mozz stick is always a fave.

Haven't been here in 19 years! Hoping for a great meal! First time we came with 4 kids. This time we came with Dad. Accessible bathrooms available with changing tables. High chairs available. The women's bathroom needed cleaning, but it was 3 pm so they may have just gotten over a lunch rush. For the most part it was very family friendly and the sounds were tolerable and we could talk and be heard at a natural level. Decor was great and every group that came in was seated promptly. We had no wait time at 3pm. Samantha the server was great! Tables were bussed and reset as groups left. I will come back !

Can't believe it being so many years around in Buffalo never made it to the "original" Anchor Bar where the famous Buffalo Wings were invented. Probably because the spot is very touristic - but nevertheless it was a great experience. The sauce is really good (and spicy) as in other Anchor Bars. The staff was very friendly which is remarkable in such a busy place where people are coming and going all the time. So yes, you have to go at least once in your life there .

We were in Buffalo to visit friends so had to make a stop at the iconic Anchor Bar for Buffalo wings and a beef on weck! We split a plate w 5 wings, a sandwich and potato wedges. Holy cow that was a lot of food. We were certainly full and the meal was great. The bread was soft w caraway seeds, and the meat was tender and flavorful. The wings were in the buffalo dry rub w mild sauce - we had a plane to catch so nothing too spicy. The wings did have a lot of flavor, not hot but a bit warm. And there was a good crunch to the outside. The interior was all dark wood, motorcycles, and license plates. It added to the ambience of a dive bar w great food. We will definitely go back!

Dry wings with sauce on the side. Wings cooked perfectly.

This was a disappointing experience, especially as a huge wings fan. I was excited to visit the birthplace of Buffalo wings and expected something memorable: maybe a classic, old-school bar with a little grit and a lot of character. Instead, the place felt more like a cavernous tourist stop than the legendary wing destination I had imagined. The wings were good, but not great. We ordered them dry so we could try several sauces. The wings were cooked perfectly. The sauces, however, were underwhelming. We tried the garlic parmesan, the original, and the extreme heat sauce, which I believe used to be was called "Suicidal." They all seemed to rely almost entirely on cayenne and butter, with limited complexity and less heat than expected. Maybe I've been spoiled by other wing spots with more creative sauces and better blue cheese and ranch, but these just didn't stand out. That said, the service was great, and I appreciated the staff. I'm glad I went for the history, but based on the food alone, it didn't live up to the hype. I will not go back.

Forever this will be my top 3 favorite Wing place. Many people overlook this place or think they are overrated. No way. The nostalgic, the OG of wing places. The flavor is always a hit, super crispy and the blue cheese is a notch up of any other blue cheese. They only offer about 8 flavors to choose from which is great. They don't saturate and overwhelm people with too many choices. The atmosphere is great. Historical Buffalo greats all over the walls. Just imagine the stories told. Prices are comparable to any Wing joint. I will continue to come here every time I come to Buffalo. Overall a 9.6 out of 10.

Fantastic pizza and wings, both traditional and boneless! Service was fast and the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Easy on/ easy off I90 too, which was very convenient

If you find yourself in Buffalo, there are a few things that must be done before you leave. In fact, right up there on my list of favorites including Niagara Falls in a snow storm (worth it!) is this place! This is the place that invented the chicken wing! Rather than give you a history lesson, let me tell you about these wings! They are so light and crispy, literally melt in your mouth. The quality of the chicken is superior to anything I've ever had. Skip the fries! Not because they aren't good, but you will want to eat your whole plate of wings, and you have to choose how you are going to fill your stomach. The decore is not really decoration! It's the original dining room complete with grey and black checkered floor, and a whole collection of memorabilia from all the famous folks who have been here. It's like a museum! All the newspaper clippings and magazine covers are right there giving you the rundown of the significance of this place to our culture and how Americans do food! Come hungry! You will enjoy every crispy bite!

These days, the most important thing is stroller accessibility and Anchor Bar has just that! This is the second time I've been here, and the wings do not disappoint. According to my husband, they were a lot better this time, but I always remember them being great. If you're in the area, definitely recommend!

Had a great time here sitting at the bar with my brother. Bartender was friendly and made sure we always had what we needed. First time here so we had to try the original wings. It tasted like a very good chicken wing. I think we were expecting to be blown away but cannot complain. "Divey" interior with a very casual atmosphere. TV's around the bar/restaurant so you won't miss the game.

I went here on a drive through the area a few days ago, and it was pretty good. I was expecting there to be a long wait, but in fact, the place was nearly empty. It looks like it's been a very cute tourist destination over the decades but a little bit rundown now. While the place was opened in the 1930s, it wasn't until the 1960s that the buffalo wing was invented here. And they are pretty good. We got them as a side item alongside additional entrées. The service was good. Even the bar was pretty quiet, but a nice bartender offered to take our photograph with the Statue of Liberty since we were being tourists. This place is all right. They have a wide variety of other food in addition to wings. If you want a sandwich, burger, pasta, you can find it here for sure. There is construction going on outside and it seems like a windy way that you need to drive in order to get there, but the directions are correct and you will get there.

Loved the history behind this original place! Got 10 of their original wings and it's definitely worth trying. Compared to other chicken places, the chicken itself was very tender, not overcooked, and the sauce was plentiful. This location also has lots of apparel and souvenirs for sale at very reasonable prices!

We were in a bind in late 2021 when my mom came to visit and we tried again. I had left a three star review after that, but eventually felt guilty and removed it because they're in our neighborhood. Since it's been several years we decided to try again. Their Instagram post advertised a smash burger and fish sandwich specials. Right up our alley! We called up and ordered takeout. The young woman on the phone was very pleasant. The pickup experience was fine...the food? Not so good and definitely not worth $18 for each meal. The double cheeseburger patties had a spongy texture and didn't seem like a smash burger. I'm pretty sure they're pre-formed frozen pucks...or at the very least they taste like it. The fish filet sandwich was crispy and initially looked delicious, but the actual fish inside ended up being soooo mushy...very unpleasant. I had to throw it out after two bites, the texture of the fish was so off-putting. The french fries that came with both sandwiches were generous and tasted fine enough, but they were all such short pieces. I mean, I want at least a few full sized fries, yah know? This disappointing experience confirms our opinion of Colter Bay...for the fourth time. We won't be trying again for a few years.

We were given ample time for our entire party to arrive and were not rushed at all. Our waitress was wonderful. I was debating between a couple items on the menu and opted for a salad. I ordered the Beet & Burrata salad ... um lol well if you would call it that. Two of us ordered this and we both were surprised when it came out to say the least. Basically a couple pieces of lettuce on top of chopped beets under a spicy-ish hollandaise type dressing over burrata. Or I'm assuming the dressing was what was a tad spicy. However I couldn't figure it out lol. There were a couple tiny smoked peach pieces on the side...just too smoky for my taste. Would have preferred just a fresh grilled peach. Also added a side of chicken to toss on my "salad" thinking it had a whole bed of lettuce, however could have avoided ordering that had I seen a picture of this salad beforehand - so I threw that in for you all in case you're on the fence of what to order. It was good if you like beets, but not really filling since the portion was pretty small. Loved the presentation though, gotta give them that. I also had the Oz-molitan... cosmo with blood orange ...delicious! If you like fruity drinks get it!! I tried my friends' fresh cut regular fries, the truffle fries, and also some of the pepperoni flatbread (I forget exactly what it was called, apologies) but all of those were to die for! The inside was super cute. It is on main street with the train track so there is basically no parking in the vicinity so it's a cold walk during winter. We ordered Kugel Latke for an appetizer. It was fine, it tasted like uncrisp tater tots. If there was a sauce of sorts to dip it in, it would have been better besides just potato. For mains we shared two half pizzas the Fig& Pig and the Pepperoni + Honey. They were both fine, they were half sized but still didn't seem like a lot. The person I was with thought it was too much fig, but I had no problem so that is preference. Though the pork belly was mainly fat. The people with us weren't fans of their food either. They also added Truffle fries and were told it would be extra which they agreed to, but it was an additional $9 not jut 2 or 3. For the service, we assumed it was all due to the massive party but it wasn't that great. We were right in front of the bartender and our water was refilled once the entire time we were there. We also didn't get silverware and when we asked for napkins we got a single paper one. We were also at the end of the bar which is where the severs would stand or get the food which was directly next to us which was a bit annoying due to the proximity, they were as close as sitting next to us at a table. No one checked on us either thoughtout our time. Overall, the food was fine, nothing amazing. I'm assuming they get a lot of Shea's traffic which is fine if you want a drink with a snack. I would not come here for an actual meal as it is a limited menu and you don't get a lot. The service wasn't great, but we're going with it was due to the large party. None of us will be returning. It was super cute with the lights though.
