The original home of the buffalo wing absolutely lived up to its full touristy potential. Went on a Friday around lunch and had no problem grabbing a seat at the bar. Bartender was friendly, Bloody Mary was delicious and most importantly the wings were spot on. Loved looking at the license plates and motorcycles that decorate the place and would absolutely recommend you make this a stop if you're in the Buffalo area and want wings. read more

Honestly, for the original birth place of the buffalo wings... I get it. You need to stop here. However, how good can some bar buffalo wings really be? The wings were good. Juicy and flavorful. But basically, a slightly better standard bar wing. I wouldn't really go out of my way to come back, but I would recommend people to try it out for sure. I really enjoyed the random memorabilia and history that decorates the walls of this restaurant. read more

My son and I made a pilgrimage to the original Anchor Bar to see if the reputation was hype or truth. Sadly, it's more hype than legend. The wings are naked style, so the prep is tricky. Too hot or too long makes for a dry wing with a difficult chew. High temps may help the kitchen throughput, but they don't help the wings. The wings we got fell on this dry, overcooked end of the scale. The Hotter sauce was good as was the homemade blue cheese. The next step up tasted of vinegar until drenched in blue cheese (then it was good). the service was good for 3pm on a Friday. read more

Was super stoked to come here on my first visit to Buffalo. Left seriously disappointed. Wings were mediocre. I've had better service in a Burger King. Sat for 15 minutes before we could order a drink and sat for another 15 while we waited for our check. Then the hit with and auto gratuity of 18%. I felt like I went to the place where they invented boobs and all they had was a saggy A cup with mismatched nipples. read more

Went here a couple of weeks ago while in the area. The wings were okay, but nothing to write home about, because I can make better buffalo wings than them. After I tasted my husband's wings, I ended up ordering an ole school fried (almost burnt-at my request) sandwich. It was delicious, but I couldn't eat the bun because it was the consistency of Jamaican coco bread and I didn't want to put all that in my stomach so I ate the bologna by itself with the fried onions they put on top. That bologna was 1/2 inch thick. It was sho nuff the BOMB! I'm from Alabama so this was right up my alley. One of my friends ordered the fried eggplant and pasta and she loved it. The other ordered buffalo chicken fingers with fries and he didn't enjoy his meal. The staff is kind, friendly, and accommodating because when my friend received her pasta it had tomato sauce on the top and she asked if she could get buttered pasta instead and they obliged her. There is plenty of seating. One downside is that the kitchen closes at 8:00pm so we got there just in time to order our food at 7:45pm. read more

When in Buffalo you have to stop in right? The original Buffalo Wing place! Ordered 10 wings and the pizza rolls. I thought the wings were good, not great. I ordered the Cajun dry rub and the other guy ordered the hotter. I would say googood flavor, but ot as meaty as I would have liked. I went to another wing place the previous night and I gave them 4 stars so tonight not aas good so 3 here, but more likely a 3.75. Would I come back?? Yes for the ambiance. We sat at the bar and had some wings and beer. The bartenders were fun and service was quick. It's definitely a dive bar, but it's clear they know what they're good at. The buffalo wings were tasty- honestly a bit overcooked. I think if they were cooked a minute less they would have been perfect, but the sauce was divine. My boyfriend and I agreed the buffalo sauce was the real star here. A fun stop if you're in town, but nothing I need to do again. read more

Since there was a large party of us, they sat us in the side room, which was perfectly fine. Our waitress was off the chain great suggestions, open and honest. When we asked her about the African-American man who created buffalo wings, she acknowledged him and gave us a history. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Niagara Falls based on the history. The Anchor Bar IPA was an outstanding brew. I had the Manhattan, and it was a delightful midday cocktail. Picky 9 had the pizza logs. They were "a little too cheesy" . Mr. 13 and I had boneless honey garlic wings. They were fabulous. Hubs had a beef sandwich and wings. He was a proud member of the clean your plate club and brought it up as being so delicious all day long. Service was quick and fabulous. Our waitress was very busy, but still attentive. Anchor Bar was such a touristy spot. Supposedly the original location where buffalo sauce came from, we had to visit. They were super slammed with a constant influx of folks. It took our waitress forever to come check on us and fill our waters. She definitely had to work hard for a Sunday lunch crowd. The hubs went for the wings. The x10 traditional wings were a relatively nice size. They had a good bite to them with a crispy ish skin. Whatever the two sauces were, they were messy compared to a dry rub though. The buffalo chicken sandwich was so so. It was a humungous sandwich with a saucy outer layer that made it super messy to consume. The fried breast was juicy but not overly breaded. The potato wedges were surprisingly delightful. I'm particular about fries being too potato-y. I like 'em to have a crunch factor. And these wedges had just enough crispiness. We also decided to add x5 additional wings with an entree order for $6.99. The spicy garlic parmesan had a nice punch of flavor. Or was it the cajun dry rub now that I think about it. After staying for a night in Buffalo, NY, through some thorough (not really lol) research, I found out that Anchor Bar is where Buffalo Wings first originated from! So I convinced my whole family that this was the place to go to for lunch! There was a long wait to get tables as the place was really busy. Finally, about 30 minutes or so later, we finally got a table. I had to order the original buffalo wings, with mild sauce - as that is how it originated. We gotta take it back now to how it all started. I wanted to love the wings. I really did! It had a great crunch and a great flavor, but not sure if our batch was very over cooked as the chicken meat was very tough and dry. I like my wings crunchy and crisp on the outside and nice and tender, juicy, and flavorful on the inside. These wings were missing a few points in my book. So yes, I was a tad bit disappointed that the wings I had wasn't really worth the long wait. Anchor Bar had one chance to win me over with their wings as who knows when in the world I will be back in Buffalo New York of all places? They had some cool paraphernalia inside the restaurant though! But other than that... just 3 stars. Not the worst wings I've ever had but definitely not the best. read more

Flew into Buffalo with a couple of buddies to watch a hockey game and was recommended to try this place. It's the birthplace of "Buffalo wings" and has been around for almost 100 years, so they must be doing something right. Came around 6pm on a Wednesday night and was greeted and seated promptly. Server was friendly and the food and drinks came out pretty quickly. We all got the wings and weck combo which comes with 5 wings with your choice of sauce, beef on weck sandwich, and a bunch of fries. I got the original Wings which were really good and had a little kick and nice flavor and they fried it a little bit crispier than other places, which gave it a different texture. The sandwich was good, but is pretty salty so I had to scrape off a lot of the salt and caraway seeds from the top bun. If you do that and add some horseradish to it, it was a really good sandwich. Fries were nice and crispy, too. Huge menu with so many different things on it. If you lived in the area, I'm sure it's a cool spot to come and hang out at and eat something different all of the time. Highly recommended if you're in the area and want a good meal. read more

Great food, wings and not far from the falls. The staff was kind. We tried the famous wings and were good. We took an order to go since we were in a rush. Reason for 4 Star is when we sat down our table seats were dirty and table was sticky. This is an easy fix and we could have been seated between people. I know I'm gonna get some heat for this but I've had better wings at a gas station... Just because you invented buffalo wings doesn't mean you can sit on your hands and let the rest of the world perfect them... The Medium wings tasted like they took Franks Red Hot and cut it w half water and did a quick dip of the wings after frying then plated them. The sauce didn't stay on and was gone by the time they cooled enough to eat. I had Habanero Ranch Dust and they had barely any flavor. Do you Buffalo peeps have sensitive digestive systems? Are your taste buds still over in England, left behind when your ancestors fled the country in search of a better life? I EXPECTED HEAT! I EXPECTED FLAVOR! I EXPECTED TEARS! I could have 'lined up' and asked for more... But instead I had to request a Spicy BBQ to dip them in. The Spicy BBQ tasted more like a smokey (w a bite/sting) BBQ, but I tasted no 'spice', so I'd suggest changing the name. Now... the wings were fried PERFECTLY but the sauces left me hanging. Checking your website- it's clear you're 'hanging your hat' on being the OG but sometimes it's best to bow out gracefully if your product 'drops the ball'... Now the decor, the bar atmosphere, etc is the only thing that might bring me back... Let me know when you put FLAVOR on your wings... read more

Very disappointed. We ate at the Transit road location. My chair was sticky when I grabbed it, so I had to go back to the bathroom to wash my hands again and used my wet paper towel to pull my chair out to sit down. The lettuce on my cheeseburger was the rubbery outer layer that all of us throw in the garbage before we wash the edible portion to feed our families. The cook should be ashamed. My onion rings weren't ordered and when I did receive them after my cheeseburger was almost gone, the batter was way too thick and soggy on the inside. One bite and the whole onion comes out, and you're left with the unflavored, oily tasting, thick soggy bread. Awful, editable. I think all of America knows, you dust the onions in cornstarch before battering them, so the onion doesn't slip out on the first bite. The miserable women who brought our food didn't help either. I won't be stopping here ever again. read more

Have been several times to the birth place of Buffalo Wings and this visit did not disappoint. Love the wings here and am not a big fan of the pizza so a big plate of wings it is. Wings were crispy and cooked to perfection. Wing sauce is what makes these wings so good. Restaurant is full of nostalgia with various themes depending on where you sat. Only downside was being in middle of confrontation between our waitress and another customer. Not sure what happened but it involved tip and was very uncomfortable. Who am I kidding? You're going to go regardless of my review because this is the birthplace of buffalo wings. And I'm the same: I went despite the reviews. The sauce was really good--not too drippy and not too thick, not too spicy either. However, the wings were fried a bit too crispy for me. Came as part of my 5,800 mile 30 city food trip. This was a bucket list spot for sure in my cross country food travels. I say this not in a bad way...the experience was everything I predicted... Kind of a tourist trap vibe playing off the "original" reputation. Excellent service and just decent bar wings that I feel I could get anywhere (again, as expected). Basic flavors. Simple prep. Kind of small bar wings that tourists would love for the experience. The hottest flavor which is what I ordered was mild at best. Normally, Edgardo and I look for spots with a little history when we travel and try local places. This one came recommended by one of his coworkers and let me tell you! 10/10. From the service to the drinks (yes, those Bloody Marys did what they needed to do ), and of course the entrées, the wings and fries/wedges were chef kiss . If we lived closer, we would not be making wings at home anymore. ‍ Left with a nice little buzz after two Bloody Marys, a full belly, and the biggest Kool Aid smile. Definitely recommend. I originally came to this location on a whim, expecting your typical buffalo wings - but I was very pleasantly surprised. I dined on a busy Friday afternoon at the tail end of the lunch rush, but was able to get seated quickly. Looking around, the restaurant felt like your run of the mill Dive Bar, and I was expecting the same for the quality of food - but that's where they got me. Fried at the perfect temperature, the wings weren't overly breaded and still managed to have the delectable crunch. The medium buffalo sauce had the right balance of slow heat and sour from the vinegar in it. And for not ordering the wings extra wet, they were very well coated in the sauce. The roast beef was tender and juicy, pairing exquisitely with the flavor of the salt and fennel on the super soft kimmelweck roll. read more

A historic place for sure, but only come here if you care about the history of the wings. Food was honestly not too special, as many of the dishes were rather bland. The mozzarella sticks were not that cheesy, and the sauce for the wings were not especially tasty. The pulled pork was quite sweet and the beef sandwich was an enigma - the bread was too salty, and the beef too bland - you'd expect it to be the other way around! The wing sauces were very mild in terms of spice. You don't feel any heat from the medium spice levels, and the extreme spice was just slightly spicy, and didn't taste amazing. They also watered down our apple juice as well, which was disappointing. Service was good though, and there was a nice ambiance, so only go if you are a tourist interested in the history! read more

Got in late and rushed over... their website said open until 9 but at 8:30 their door was locked despite many patrons still inside. Very disappointing. So if you're traveling through Buffalo, you have to go to the place that originated the Buffalo Wing, right? My wife and I enjoyed our experience at Anchor Bar. The ambience is like nothing else you see in any other restaurant. I have tried wings from all over. Have I had better chicken wings? Absolutely. I appreciate the quality of the chicken wings here. The Parm Garlic was extra saucy compared to the original that I really wish I had more sauce. The blue cheese was the best I've ever had. The food didn't blow me away though. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because our server is as on top of it and genuinely friendly and helped us with our first experience at Anchor Bar. I am glad I finally made it to eat wings from Anchor Bar. But I won't be upset if I never make it back. But knowing me and my love for wings, if I'm ever in the area, I'll probably stop again. A staple in Buffalo! Gotta visit if you're a fan of chicken wings. Ordered the "hotter" and "BBQ" sauce wings and honestly, they hit the spot. Definitely recommend them. They were delicious, and I'd come back. Ordered a pepperoni and bacon pizza and that was solid. Could go without next time but it's always a good combo with wings and a salad. The restaurant itself is cool! They have a merch store in case you're a fan of merch when visiting a new place, like me. We did got seated within 10 min which was great! This is the one place that is obviously on the Buffalo tourist to-do list. It was definitely on mine. The service was not bad. The server was amiable, and the time from ordering to getting your food was pretty quick. Regarding the food, I wasn't the biggest fan, but it wasn't bad either. It was just mediocre, which was underwhelming for me as I expected more. The portion sizing is enormous, and they offer single, double or buckets. I ordered a single of the boneless, and it was hard to finish it for my lunch. I should also mention I had not eaten breakfast, and I still had a hard time finishing it. My Husband ordered the classic wings and he said they were good but also a huge portion. The decor around us was pretty cool. We were seated next to some pictures of celebrities who had stopped by back in the old days. When you first arrive, there is a little merch booth to the left where you wait to be seated. I took a quick pass, and they sold the buffalo sauce, which is to be expected. It was a fun experience and I would go again if there were no other choices. Anchor Bar is home to the original buffalo chicken wings. They offer a variety of items on their menu but of course we had to order the wings. We ordered the double (20 pc) to split between 2 for $30.99. We got half of them in medium and the other half in hotter (similar to Frank's Red Hot). Honestly I was expecting the medium to be similar to the spice level of hotter. It wasn't super spicy but there was a little kick to it which I personally enjoyed. The wings also came with celery and a choice between Bleu cheese and ranch. They also came out very quickly which was great since I was starving! A must try if you're in Buffalo :) read more

Most recently we saw Caligula Blushed for their first visit to Buffalo. My other half has been a fan of The Smiths since forever, but we have stopped seeing Morrissey in concert. This was the next best thing to seeing Johnny Marr in concert. Great show, good crowd, not too crowded, and people were actually there to see the show unlike when we saw Nick Lowe at Iron Works and some people would not stop talking!! Post-pandemic, but also anytime, I have to say how incredibly wonderful it is to get fresh air during a show. The garage style door by the stage was open letting in some natural night and lots of fresh air on a cool night, which is really perfect for a show. I'm over crowded, stuffy, hot, and dark. The opening leads to an adorable patio with lots of tables, chairs, and string lights. There's a platform with seating and a little balcony with seating. There are lots places to set your drink whole dancing as the platform and pillars all have ledges. There are two selve-serve water coolers, which is also great to see. I tried a summer cocktail - a Loganberry Dirty Shirley, which was super sweet but that's what it's designed to be. A Coke was $3 and the cocktail specials were $10. Mocktails are $8 and there are other n/a offerings as well, along side beer, liquor, and what have you. They have a garden burger and fries on the menu, in addition to other meat and cheese foods. Tickets to this show were $12, which is so reasonable for a night out. This is more fun than going to the movies and should definitely be a go to if you want to get out of the house. Fresh air, water, seating...all this sets Iron Works apart. If you haven't been, go, and of it's been awhile, go back. My other half was reluctant to go out but was so glad he did.

Just writing a response to Michelle W. below because it seems warranted and she seems to be in need of a reality check. The first thing that I got from your review was your irrational way of thinking from the phrase, "DON'T ORDER ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN YOU WILL EAT IT", When you go out to a restaurant in a society, it is not a test lab experiment you are participating in. The food items listed on the menu have been approved by management/owners to be served to guests. If I didn't like a certain food, I wouldn't order it and then write the establishment a poor review because of my poor decision, which it seems you are doing. The second eye-popping item from your review was that you ordered an item, could not identify anything wrong with it, and was shocked/disappointed when they would not remove the item from the bill. With no-due respect, this is a ridiculous request. I'm not sure if you know what a business is or how it runs but businesses have costs, like food and labor. They don't raise the chickens and slaughter them there, so they need to buy them processed from a supplier. That costs money. And they also have to pay labor costs to employees, the individuals that make the food and transport it to entitled people like yourself. It's irrational to assume that the establishment should incur these costs for you to take a bite out of the item, have the remainder of the meal thrown out and have the establishment cover the cost. You said you've never been to a restaurant that has refused to take a meal back for no reason and remove it from the bill? That's not true and irrational. It's an entitled way of thinking that you should be able to do that. As for the rest of your rant discussing the timing of the service, the employees at restaurants are people. When you treat people poorly, the behavior is typically reciprocated back. I don't do favors for people who treat me poorly and are disrespectful so my best assumption is that you weren't made a priority to serve for your irrational behavior/requests. I've eaten at this location several times and have never had an issue with the food or service. Take some time to read the points I made above and try not to be so entitled when you go out. It was your decision to order something and the burden falls on you if you do not like it but it is prepared in accordance with the standards of the establishment. Read some reviews of this historical Buffalo restaurant landmark and, in part, agreed with some while others one has to dismiss due to the context in which they were written. This IS the birthplace of the chicken wing and, although the original owners are not involved, is a necessary mecca destination for this regional (now global) culinary oddity. Additionally, the interior is real and gives a cross-section of a classic Buffalo neighborhood bar. Its not contrived; its authentic like the city itself. Okay, the wings. Compare away between the wings served here and Duff's, but the key is understanding what makes a Buffalo chicken wing different than what is served outside the WNY region. Its about the prep, the grease in the fryers, whether the precooked wing is raw or frozen, the butter/hot sauce blend and who's cooking the wing. Take this into account, as some folks like a juicy, plump wing bathed in sauce while others like a crispier, lighter sauced wing, when taking a "wing taste test" among regional wing joints. As for the service. I've had good service and crappy service both from wait and bar staff. The only reason why the inconsistency is the fact that the Anchor Bar is a tourist destination and tourists can be...well, tourists. And their behavior can turn the most patient individual into a sharpened bitch. Overall, the Anchor Bar is a must dine destination. Tired to have dinner there tonight and they wouldn't let me in. I got there at 9:30 pm, and they close at 10:00 pm. After walking 3 miles in a blizzard storm here in buffalo, NY. They had people still at tables with menus in there hands that must have arrived no more than 5 mins before me. As I knocked a short fat man with a blue Buffalo bills hoody said they were closed. My reply was I have just walked 3 miles in this storm to try you wings that I have heard about from all the locals. Can I come in for a second to get warm, and was told no, and with a s**t-eating grin on his face said sorry and then turned around to go sit his fat a** down at the bar. Never have a met a more rude, and non-compassionate person. I am here in town on business and only have a few days to see the town. Where I'm from small business go the extra mile to help out those in similar predicaments. So the way they treated me, was not of a customer minded mentality. But, of a company that has become out of touch with the people and has gotten to big for there britches in the claim that they invented "Chicken Wings." There management is terrible at best if they employee people, and practice business such as these. I hope that if your in Buffalo, NY you don't waste your time on going there. Major disappointment on my last restaurant from Niagara Falls trip. I stopped by this place with high expectation. The wings are crispy and decently priced - 50 wings for $45.00. That's it! The side items are too expensive for such minimal portions that allotted. The old hag waitress (I won't say her name) was too grumpy and had nasty attitude. The waitress elbowed/kicked/tapped/bumped me at least 6 different times but only apologized once. I asked for a new ketchup bottle cause ours was dried and gone, she comes, "What do you want me to do about it? I can't squeeze more than you can!" I had to remind her my simple question - which was, "Could you give us a new ketchup bottle?" While this waitress filled my water, she spilled water all over the table but didn't apologize or wipe. I felt more pity than anger or frustration so I ended up tipping way more than the hag earned/deserved. The owner of this place gotta stop being Jewish and expand. The tables are too tiny and there aren't enough maneuver room. The restroom was utterly disgusting and they ran hot water from the faucet during the summer. One tip - stop by before or after lunch time to avoid crowd and dreadful lines. Prior to arriving in Buffalo, we'd learned that this was the "originator" of the buffalo style chicken wing, but upon asking locals as we toured the city we learned that there were other much better locations according to Buffalonians. And as I soon re-learned - always trust the locals. This was the most anticipated stop on our local wing tour - but sadly that anticipation was quickly turned to disappointment once we ate their offering. We sat at the bar and ordered a single pound to share. Our inattentive server barely paid attention to our order before walking over to a phone and barking the order before hanging up. I figured something was up when the wings appeared no sooner than she placed the order. What we received were a pound of dry, over cooked wings that were doused in buffalo sauce to cover up the fact that they were so over cooked and dry. If I'd never had buffalo wings before in buffalo I would have assumed that this was the gold standard, but after having 3 other examples within 24 hours to compare it to, I could tell quality control was not a priority here.... We visited on a busy Sunday evening. There was a short wait for our party of 6, which was fine. Ambiance was on par with your classic wing joint, Americana decor bleeding from the walls. Once seated, our waitress greeted us promptly. Drink order taken, our food order placed, we waited for these "mouth watering" wings to arrive. Our wings were brought out and to all of our surprised, they lacked the saucy buttery coating you'd expect from a good buffalo wing. The size was great, but the lack of sauce left the wings dry & flavorless. The waitress had an oops moment when bringing our side dishes out, dropped the entire tray. She felt horrible about it and replacements were brought out quite quickly. After all was said and done, we all felt we'd had better wings, I myself thinking the franchised location in Hamilton, Ontario was better. Would I recommend this place to friends, probably not. There used to be a joint in Buffalo called The Tender Trap, not much for atmosphere, but delicious wings. This is what I was expecting. read more

What is there to say about this place being the originator of the Buffalo Wing, thank you Teresa. Yea Buffalo has seen better days and glad I went in the day time as it can be a little scary if the parking lot were full. Got there at the perfect time with only a 5 minute wait but the staff should be a little more gracious about the tables that they turn over at this place, I'm sure monetarily if they could have it like it is now or back before the recognition and TV exposure they would take it now. I understand someone having a bad day but there wasn't a waitress who didn't have a puss on their face. As for the wings, cooked perfect as requested "well done" crispy and the sauce "hot" was to perfection, I can go hotter but this was perfect and just wet enough. I doubt I will be up that way again but if I am it would be silly not to stop for a double set, well done and hot. read more

Randy Greave ( Ryan Michaels & Associates, LLC) is in my opinion a con man, I first found him from home advisors. ( I have extensive contact with home advisors) including earlier today. the page of the company has been removed from home advisors a couple of hours ago. there were complaints lodged against him. 7 by my count. I asked many times for his contractor number, including Randy at least 4 times, I asked what he told me his insurance company was, ( he was NOT insured at the time he started my job) the woman there did not have a contractors Number, I also just today asked home advisor for his contractors number, they did NOT have one I have 100s of pictures of my backyard Before/During/After. stay away from this ( in my opinion) criminal further action is forthcoming against him read more

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Anchor Bar and Grill in Amherst, NY! The food was phenomenal - packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a delight, from the famous wings to the hearty entrees. What truly set this visit apart, though, was the incredible service. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me, even allowing me to place a to-go order just before their closing time. They were warm, professional, and genuinely cared about ensuring I had a great experience despite the late hour. Finding a place that combines amazing food with such exceptional service is rare, and Anchor Bar delivered on both counts. I'll be returning and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Five stars! read more

Over rated. Touristy, duh. I lived in the area on an assignment for a couple years but otherwise couldn't imagine making this a destination because of their alleged Wing creation. Better a dull monument to letting others Improve, Franchise and Profit from your creation. There are just so many better wings. Sauces were runny and vinegary, I hate vinegary. Wings ranged from dry to small. Some of the smaller wings I've ever seen served. Forgettable, but nice enough people. The best way to do the Anchor wings is non peak times on a really gray snowy Buffalo day at the bar. I would never wait in line here. Interior is eclectically fun and interesting. My favorite wings are at The Bar Bill in the Southtowns, East Aurora, NY, and my own. read more

Wonderful place for sure. This is the real deal, folks. Truly excellent cuisine (usually under-rated because its a real saloon! for me the linguini & white clam is excellent with a caesar) and the place is deservedly legendary. This place is the original Anchor Bar saloon, still alive and doing very well evidently. We often take a table next to the live trio band, what a treat. We know all the worthwhile joints in town and this is second to none. We have other greats too that we frequent but Anchor Bar is tough to beat for a great joint. Yes Gabriel's Gate in the same neighborhood is also worth a frequent visit. Just like the anchor bar, its a long lived antique and unique and the wings and medium sauce are awesome, just awesome! read more

The thing is... Anchor Bar is a must do for wing lovers because you've gotta try the original. It's worth taking tourists too, even if its just once. But its typically crowded, service can be really slow, and its kind of expensive. Not loving the meat-on-bone feeling, I rely on boneless wings and Anchor Bar doesn't carry them, which is a huge bummer. Also, the menu is kind of bizarrely mismatched, leaning back to the Italian roots of the restaurant before the wing fame. It just feels like the strangest experience a person could voluntarily foist themselves into. Know who does wings well? Literally any other place in Buffalo. read more
