We stopped by on our way back to our hotel in DC and had a nice meal. We had the peach burrata, meatloaf, and the Mediterranean power bowl. We also had a couple of beers and ultimately left satisfied. My only gripe is I like my beer damn near ice cold and the beers here are just a bit colder than room temp. I had the pleasure of spending part of my Fourth of July at Brewer's Alley in Frederick, Maryland, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was festive, and I loved that they had special commemorative koozies for the holiday--it was a fun touch that made the day even more memorable. I ordered a frozen drink along with the crab dip and pretzel appetizer, and I can honestly say the crab dip was absolutely out of this world. It was rich, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the warm, soft pretzel. Every bite was delicious. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and provided exceptional service throughout my visit. I also spent time on the rooftop, and the view of downtown Frederick was simply phenomenal. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and take in the scenery. Went here for lunch with the family on a Sunday. There was plenty of seating and lots of great outdoor space. We ate inside, but on a nicer day I would have loved to sit on the rooftop. We ordered nachos and a pretzel for apps. Both were great! The nachos looked standard, but the cheese on them made it fantastic. The pretzel was also so good we had to order a second. Our actual food was also good. My Mediterranean bowl was just ok, but everyone else liked their meals. I would definitely go back. I ordered my first two rounds of drinks through a QR code on the table. I wasn't sure why you were able to order drinks through the code but not food. It would have made everything easier and we wouldn't have had to wait a while for the server who was very busy. I had the hummus plate and the buffalo boneless wings. Both were tasty. My first stop on my most recent trip to Frederick was to Brewer's Alley to kick off my crab cake tour. I always eat as many Maryland Style Crabcakes as I can when I'm in town. The Crabcakes at Brewers is quite large and full of lump crab with an aioli spread on a brioche bun. The flavor is great but can get a little messy with the sauce, nothing a fork won't clean up. The crabcake sandwich pairs perfectly with their cucumber jalapeno salad if you like a little heat. I also love Brewers Happy hour specials, daily specials which can be a really good deal and seasonal drinks. read more

We visited Frederick to explore the town and do some brewery crawling. Our first stop was Brewer's Alley. We were there around lunchtime, so it was fairly busy, but we lucked out and found two seats at the bar. The staff here were very friendly and attentive. Loved the space, comfy bar seats, lovely holiday decorations, and a lot of different areas for seating. We tried a saison beer and a Kolsch. They were okay in my opinion, not bad, but not great. We also ordered their special of fried lobster bites. The presentation was nice and the flavor of the breading and the dipping sauce was good, but it was a bit rubbery in texture and a very small portion for the price in my opinion (I understand it's lobster so maybe to be expected). Overall, it's a pretty cool spot and I'd likely drop by again to try other beers and menu items if in the area. read more

I visited Brewer's Alley on Easter for their Easter brunch buffet. The food on the buffet was pretty good. There was a good selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner items and a wide array of desserts. Since walkways are pretty tight inside the restaurant, it was cramped and I felt like it was in a constant struggle not to get in other people's way. The gentleman carving at the ham station was very kind, and our waitress was helpful. I have no complaints with the service. The issue I had was that the restaurant sat guests in an second-floor event space. That wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have to walk up and down a few flights of stairs with your food. Yes, there was an elevator, but like I said earlier, the number of people made you feel like you were in the way while waiting for it to descend. I thought it was odd that people were seated so far away from the buffet and other guests in the restaurant, especially for the elderly guests. It was raining pretty hard that day, so I'm sure Brewer Alley's plans of seating guests outside was ruined, and that's certainly not their fault. I don't know if I'll return, but I appreciated the service and enjoyed the food. read more

Food was good. A little overpriced, IMO, but good nonetheless. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. No problems there. That's the only reason the review is as high as it is. Our issue came during the meal. There were nine of us dining, celebrating my wife's 45th birthday. We made reservations for 5pm on a Monday. Everything was fine until one of my daughters discovered multiple LIVE bugs in her chicken Caesar salad. We didn't make a scene. We didn't overreact. And although everyone immediately lost their appetite as a result and couldn't eat any more food, we realized this type of thing CAN happen to anyone at any restaurant. So... again, as to NOT make a scene, my wife quietly and very discreetly sought out the manager, Fred, and explained the issue. He and my wife returned to our table at which point he inspected my daughter's salad and witnessed for himself the live bugs crawling around in what was left of her salad. Did he apologize? Did he show any type of genuine concern or regret? Nope. He makes a joke and says, "Well THAT'S not on the menu" and oh-so-graciously offers my daughter another meal. She orders and despite the fact we were ALL ready to just leave we waited for the replacement meal and requested the check. Check comes and out of the goodness of his heart (insert eye roll), Fred took the original salad off the bill and comped the replacement. We are not complainers and we didn't ASK for a discount and certainly wouldn't expect the entire meal to be comped, especially for such a large party. But when the check came we were absolutely astounded that there wasn't even a reasonable amount of 10 or 15 percent taken off the bill for such a disgusting, stomach turning event at a restaurant. Every drink (three adult beverages and soft drinks) and EVERY meal was still full price, aside from the one salad and replacement. We were absolutely dumbfounded that nothing besides a replacement meal was offered, especially since our complaint was lodged so discreetly and we weren't trying to be difficult or "get something for nothing". But, beings as it was my wife's birthday, in an effort to not let this ruin the rest of the evening any more than it already had been, we paid our check, STILL tipped the waiter more than 20% (because it wasn't HIS fault) and left. After leaving, my wife was still stewing not so much about the bugs, but the way it was so dismissively handled. On the drive home she calls the restaurant to again speak with Fred the manager. The hostess answers the phone and my wife says she needs to speak to the manager. Hostess asks, "About WHAT?" in an extremely curt tone of voice. Fred gets on the phone and my wife starts to politely express her displeasure with how everything was handled. Fred's big apologetic response? "I understand... you just want to vent". Umm, EXCUSE ME! If we "just wanted to vent" we would've made a scene right then and there when my daughter discovered the live bugs crawling around in her meal!!! She then brought up the fact that he (Fred) never even came back to the table to apologize or check on things...nothing. Apparently, he got "tied up with other things". Possible, mind you, the place was NOT busy. There were a few people at the bar and probably seven or eight tables of patrons at the time. Way more tables empty than not and no wait at the door. One would think the manager would make that type of situation a priority. He then claimed he came back to check on us but we had already left. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But because we had to wait for the replacement meal, we were there at least a solid 20 minutes after the discovery and initial contact with him and in that time he was nowhere to be found. Then, in what seemed like more of an attempt to end the phone call than a genuine effort to make good, he said he would "take some more off the bill", although he left the amount and other details suspiciously unspecified, and abruptly hung up the phone. The shame of it is, although she had been to this restaurant many years ago, my wife specifically requested this (new to us) restaurant for HER birthday dinner, we made the 50 minute drive and THIS was the experience and end result. I'm not going to say it COMPLETELY ruined the mood or the evening but it certainly didn't help matters as far as that goes and put a big damper on what is supposed to be a joyous and celebratory occasion. We will certainly remember this birthday, unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons and Brewer's Alley will not be on our future list of dining options. read more

Brewer's Alley is indeed a fun venue, Frederick's own first of its kind brewery. If you enjoy craft beer and chill vibes, this is a great option! I did happen to grab an online reservation on a busy Saturday night. At check-in, there was no wait and immediately seated at the main dining hall. Large and small groups, Brewer's can accommodate. Be sure to ask about their weekly specials and seasonal brews! Check out their Growlers Program for take-home options. Inquire about their food truck too! The Bravarian pretzel with IPA cheese and (+)crab dip was yummy! I also had a seasonal IPA, and it was a great pair. I ordered the pastrami Ruben with sweet potato fries, and while the fries were hot and crisp, I did not care for the Ruben. The marbled rye was cold and didn't taste fresh. The pastrami was limp and thin with maybe 3 slivers, a nibble of sauerkraut and squirt of the Thousand Island dressing, I only took 4 bites. Meh. I love a hefty pastrami Ruben piled high when I can, and this one didn't make the mark for me unfortunately... Our server Leah was wonderful! Friendly attentive and quick, we appreciate her! She did have two other large parties yet managed to balance the room in every way possible. Street parking is limited, but the Church Street parking garage (right at Market Street) is located just a few steps behind the restaurant. Be sure to safe keep the ticket and pay before you return to your car. The payment kiosk is located right at the entrance. Definitely want to revisit again and head up to the rooftop! read more

Discovered this spot on Yelp after looking for a place to grab dinner on our trip home from D.C. and Brewer's Alley is a great spot to hit for dinner! We had the pulled pork nachos for appetizer which were delicious and had great proportions of meat and cheese (definitely not dry whatsoever). Our waitress was extremely kind and accommodating and management was beyond kind as well. I had the double smash burger and it was so yummy! Others in our party had the wings, Mac n cheese, BBQ prime rib & cheese sandwich and the white mushroom pizza. Everything was very flavorful, portions were good, and the food came out in a very timely fashion. It is a very open dining area with lots of space and casual ambiance. If we're ever in the area, would definitely look to come back to Brewer's Alley!! read more

Went to lunch at Brewer's Alley this past Sunday. We were seated right away and the Service was good. My wife had the Rosemary-Roasted Butternut Squash Pizza that she enjoyed. Said it was very good. I had the Fish and Chips that were pretty disappointing. The fish really had no taste. It was also a little greasy and had been placed on top of the small order of fries which also made them greasy. I have had this dish here many times before and I have never been this dissatisfied. Three out of five because my wife enjoyed her pizza and the service was good.
