This place is special! You can grab a coffee and then go on a nearby trail. They don't cut corners with the coffee either, every drink is handcrafted carefully. I also had a lovely cranberry muffin. I thought I was going to get it to go, but I scarfed it down before I even got out the door. Highly recommend the banana bread latte. And if you don't like something too sweet, this is definitely the place for you because they don't go overboard with sweetness. It's also a really welcoming environment. read more

Been coming here for years and this is the best craft coffee place in the Wilkes area! The staff will help you make a decision and explain how drinks are made and helpful. They have a drive thru and dining area and the dining area is nice and spacious but the chairs are a bit uncomfortable for sitting long periods of time unless you are using the one sofa. The people who come in are regulars and often have nice conversations. They also have beer which is an added bonus. Great place! read more

This was my second time coming here and was sadly disappointed. I work at a local coffee shop in Jefferson so I wanted to find a place to go to on my days off. I had asked the red headed human what the pastries were- they replied they didn't know. I thought- okay no worries I'll take one of each. Then I ordered an Americano with cold foam and was told they don't do cold foam. Now I was a little thrown back because I make cold foam in house at Old House Goods and it's heavy cream that is whisked for a few seconds. I changed my order to two iced Lattes and leave a dollar tip. I believe in paying it forward. I use the restroom and return to see them steaming the milk. Since one of them was already made I accepted it as is and politely asked for the other to be iced. Working in the service industry I understand mistakes happen but I felt like this wasn't the up to par with experience I had prior. read more

Went in for the first time ever on Friday. It had about three different couples sitting inside and two women sitting apart working outside on the wooden benches. It is very nice inside and spacious. I was waited on quickly. I got a new flavor latte, vanilla lavender coffee. It was good with a slight flavor of lavendar and not over powering. It was very good and had the real lavender small pods in the bottom of the cup! Very good coffee and place to eat! I'm pleased! read more

Whenever I try out a new coffee shop, I always order a mocha for a fair comparison. Anchor absolutely has one of the best I've tried, they definitely know how to make a great espresso drink here! I stopped in here on my way home from the mountains over the weekend, and was greeted by a super friendly barista, nice atmosphere and a clean restroom. From the street and parking lot it was difficult to tell if they were open as the windows are dark. I'm almost kept driving but I'm glad I stopped! Will be stopping here again on my next trip for sure. read more
