We went here for dinner this past Saturday for dinner while we was on vacation. First off beautiful location great choice of beers & the pizza was amazing. The bad part started was when they didn't even have sweet tea what southern restaurant doesn't have sweet tea. Second they didn't have barley even any of the wing sauces that their menu showed. An third the service was awful being a server myself I am always really understanding but we was never checked on had to wait forever at the bar to even pay the bill. Then asked for a refill of my kids drink an the waitress said she needed to get the tables order first an it would have to wait. I hated not to tip her because I understand what living off tips mean but I also understand you need to earn your tip. All in all food was good but service was awful. read more

This place is literally home to my favorite wings, and favorite cheese pizza. Not to mention the beer selection is great, the view out back on the deck is one of my favorite in all of Atlantic beach, and they aren't as crowded as the dockside restaurants in Beaufort - you're able to come without a reservation but definitely expect a wait during busy hours and nice weekends. Their bar is open so if you're coming without kids, the wait for a table is no problem since there's a gorgeous dock and you can enjoy drinks while you wait. I like the hottest wings. I warn you: they are really really hot! Totally worth it for me every time though. Don't come with kids during busy hours - they don't have a waiting area. We were waiting at the bar to get a seat, and ended up waiting with beers at our table for take out, which took probably just as long as it would have taken to be served. They are just starting to get popular and may be understaffed. If you have kids, I recommend coming here at lunch. read more

We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant at the end of our short spring break trip. We found a nice little place in Anchor! The staff was super friendly to us and especially our new four legged family member and the view was outstanding . No food after an hour! Not even cheese sticks that take 10 minutes to make or our salads that take even less time! When I asked where my kids cheese pizzas I was told they took so long because they were THAWING! We watched people come 30 minutes after us get their food! I was in Emerald Isle for a month for work and found this place because of a review about the wings. The wings truly were really good and the Mac and cheese bites were a great appetizer! I loved that they had a cooler you could choose bottled beer from or even a "mix and match six pack" you could buy. The draft beer was truly what I came here for because I wanted to try local beer while I was there. Either they had just replaced their kegs or the cooler wasn't cold enough because the bartender just poured a bunch of foam. The owner then suggested she give me a beer where 1/4 of it was foam and "fill it up later once the foam goes down" okay no big deal, I'm not super picky... well, she never actually filled up my beer. A few nights later a coworker and I came in around 6:30/7:00 for dinner and beer and had 4 more people on their way to join us when the bartender informed us that since we were the only two there he was losing money and was going to close the place for the night before we could even order our food. Other people started showing up, but the bartender said nothing to us and we felt unwelcome so we went next door to the crab shack for our dinner and didn't return to this place for the rest of our trip. I have eaten here before and I was impressed by the food and an atmosphere. My family and I dropped by Sat night to get a late night snack and some drinks. When we arrived at 9:10pm, we were told they were closed, no biggie, we tunred around and walked off. The owner came running out the door after us and said." Come on back in I'll turn on the ovens for you folks" I declined his offer but told him thanks anyway. He said I want to feed u folks, ur hungry, let me do that. Again, we declined but I was really impressed at how he wanted to take care of his customers. You dont find that now a days! That's how u take care of people, and thats how u keep them coming back in the door. This place has really good food and beer. The atmosphere is wonderful, being right there on the water. The hostess mumbled whenever she talked to us and got upset when we couldn't hear her. When talking to us she seemed very bothered and distracted. We tried to clarify what was going on because we were confused, but she didn't answer any of our questions so we just ended up sitting down at a random seat confused. After about 20 min we just had to cancel our order due to poor direction and service. Overall, it did not feel very welcoming. read more

I have eaten there about five times and have enjoyed an assortment of pizzas; my favorite is the Margherita pizza. Nice, friendly staff,afraid the size limitation of the building will be an issue as the summer season arrives. I wish they had a salad option to go with the personal pizza so people could share. This is probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had!! The flavors were all on point!!! The supreme was amazing, and we asked to get the Hawaiian with white sauce and they we were very pleased. Staff was very nice, place was clean and we will definitely make this our new pizza place to come at the beach!! I know we will be talking all year about it until next year. read more

We had the pleasure of eating at this new restaurant this afternoon. Coming out to this area because of outstanding Yelp reviews of a seafood food truck (that must be seasonal because we never found it!) we were starving, and super cranky! We stumbled upon the Anchor Draft House. This cool and trendy looking restaurant was empty - it was about 3:00 - we had the pizza which was recommended by the staff - their Cheeseburger pizza! Omg with burger meat, cheese, pickles and mustard and ketchup, add onions-made this pizza taste like a real cheeseburger! The crust was outstanding as well. Very delicious and we ate the whole thing! We also had boneless chicken tenders - honey garlic style and served with ranch dressing. Mouth watering! The view outside on the deck was just breathtaking. You order food and drinks at the bar and receive a beeper when your food is ready (you get your drinks when you order) Great food served up on brand new picnic tables right on the Pamlico sound with a cool breeze! Welcome Anchor Draft House and thank you from this hungry family! We caught up with the bartender/manager/owner (sorry? But a sweetheart). She advised they only opened last weekend - amazing the food was that good for only being open a week. read more

Food and atmosphere were great! But the service was terrible. Despite having 3-4 waitresses to serve 6 tables, our waitress couldn't manage to get off her phone at the end of the bar to get us the things we needed (ie napkins, plates, utensils, etc). She could really afford to loose the attitude as well. read more

Horrible excuse for a local pizza place. When you walk in, the sign says please wait to be seated so we did. After about 5 minutes standing there a server tells us we can seat ourselves. We decided to sit on the deck for the view. Not a good idea if you want service from one of the servers. My wife had to go in to get a menu and I had to walk to the bar to order. I made my way into the bar and stood there for about ten minutes while the server finished texting before coming to place my order. We did receive our cold mozzarella sticks that tasted like they were direct from the freezer. After waiting for our pizza for over an hour we decided to leave and eat at home. On top of that, there were three kegs empty when I went to order a beer. I would not waste my time eating at this pizza place. Drive into town to one of the others. Rude staff, no beers, and horrible service. read more

Sadly, we had a terrible experience last night. Our experience consisted of forgotten food, cold food, and subpar food compared to our experience last year. Our server completely ignored our table for 20 minutes after our cold food was served. Kitchen staff set our food on bar and left it until bartender decided to bring to us. No social distancing and masks not required. They did deduct the forgotten and cold food from our bill, but total waste of our money and time. read more

Good pizza....not the best, but good. Service and wait time was outstanding. We ordered ahead for four pizzas to be picked up. Nothing special...three large cheese and one large pepperoni pizza. Got there and was quickly waited on. In and out in three minutes which was awesome! Only issue is the price. Those four pizzas cost $69 which is nuts. Included in that price was an $8 "fee," of which I don't know what it was but I noticed it when we got home. read more

First of all....I love this place. They have a wonderful local craft beer selection and the food is good. There really aren't many pizza options on the island other than Michelangelo's, Michaelangelo's, and oh wait, Michelangelo's. Anchor pizza is my favorite on the island (margherita, add chicken), with quality mozzarella and none of that shredded cheap stuff. For those reviewers who are comparing to NY, well I have news for you.... you are not in NY!! If you want NY pizza, go back home and quit crowding my hang out! :). I advise discounting the early reviews. This place just recently opened and it is very nice to have a place mid-island with a really nice craft beer selection and good pizza and wings. They have had a few bugs getting started. The main problem was that I don't think they anticipated they would be so popular/busy! Their initial intent was to be a draft house that served pizza. They didn't realize their pizza would be so popular, so they had some growing pains trying to keep up with the demand. They continue to listen to feedback and improve each time I am there. That being said, it can get pretty crowded and there is limited seating for large crowds, so if you have more than four in your party, you may have a tough time finding a spot to sit on a busy day. The ordering system is a little unique....you generally order and pay up front, unless you are also ordering beer in which case you can open a tab and pay for your food when ready to leave. It's a little confusing, especially for a newcomer. Still worth a visit though. I go here several times a month to chill out with some beer and za. read more

Not many choices on the island so if you are looking for some great draft beer & munching on a pizza, it's a great place to hang out. Was looking forward to checking this place out. There are not a lot of options in the middle of the island and was hoping for the best. I arrived around 6pm on a weeknight. Not very crowded and as others have said, a pretty nice view of Bogue Sound. I would guess total seating on the outside deck would accommodate 15-20 people. Good beer selection...but I was stunned that their draft was served in a disposable plastic cup. For $6 a pint I expected a pint "glass". The bad...they appeared to be very disorganized, still trying to work out the kinks I guess. Pizza is very expensive and is not very good. read more
