The blackened chicken and sautéed onions steamroll everything underneath them. Lose the onions, double the jalapeños, let the aioli actually show up -- this is a 9. The empty plate said everything. Visually, the cheesecake looked delicious. The creamy, decadent dessert was topped with a caramelized sugar layer, fresh berries, and a sprig of mint. My stomach had reached its capacity, so I asked one of the bartenders for a container to carry my leftovers home. My first dining experience at Yard House was enjoyable. I've ordered the omakase here before and thought it was a great deal but on this day what really ruined it was the rice. It was mushy and had too much vinegar. On top of that, I don't think the hamachi in the roll was at its freshest either. If I come back, I'll probably stick to happy hour and their cooked options.
