If you're looking for a Tiki Bar, this is not your spot. If you're looking for a dive bar with frozen drinks that come in buckets, this is your spot. Great location, pleasant staff. It's a small bar but still needs to at least have the main spirits available. Could use a couple more beer taps. I'd still go back if I was in Delray again. Not bad, just want more.

Arrived at Deerfield Beach, Florida from NC. Settled into hotel across the way. Decided to grab some food from a day travel. Got some sweet tea and the Mango Fish Tacos. Our waitress was really nice and informative about the menu to help us decide on what to select.

This was my first time at Kahuna and I was very happy with how the service, food and atmosphere were. This is a small bar with both indoor and outdoor seating we were told to sit anywhere when we arrived. Once we sat down we looked over the menu and decided to get the surf and turf tacos as our waitress said they were popular you get one taco per order so we got two orders so we would have two tacos as she said they were kinda small. The surf and turf tacos had shrimp, steak and French fries on them with a Baja sauce on them. They were delicious the combination of steak, shrimp and fries just worked so well. I will defintely be coming back to enjoy Kahuna more as I could see this being a casual place to hang out in Deerfield Beach instead of the chain bars in the area.

Great service and good drinks.Dieter was very attentive despite the ice crisis due to delayed ice deliveries. The drinks were very good- we had the captains cocoa punch bucket. My bf also enjoyed the BBQ wings while I had the curly fries that came out perfectly crispy and fresh hot. Dog friendly, too.

Love the Sunday reggae, my favorite day of the week there. The chicken wings are perfect and the tacos are really good too.

Had the Lanai Burger and Kahuna taco. Great taste and plenty of food. Worth the parking fee.

CAN YOU SAY DIVE BAR?…read more My wife was searching for a cocktail before dinner and we see a 1970s themed brightly illuminated sign that proudly says, "Cocktails" affixed to the wall of the business. Below the sign was a placard advertising that Tipperary Pub was celebrating 50 years in the Cove. On the front patio, two customers were puffing away at their cancer sticks causing a thick cloud of smoke. We held our breath for a moment and struggled to open the thick wooden door that was warped at the sides. Entry was finally made into this dimly lit bar with pool tables and a wall of dart boards on one side and a circular bar in the deep back with a bartender yelling, "Welcome, come in". A partial mannequin straddling a wooden rum barrel was wearing a green Team Tipp shirt and guarding the door inside. We stood motionless for a minute pondering if this is what we really wanted. No musty smell inside, so we took a chance and sat at the corner of the bar for a quick escape if needed. The chatty bartender explained the cocktail happy hour which was excellent. The well drinks were super cheap but chose the premium liquor at $7.50 to maybe not endure a headache tomorrow. The crowd was interesting to say the least. We actually stayed for about twenty minutes and ordered the primo liquor. The bathroom was surprisingly spotless, much more modern than the bar. The dive bar was a no thrills spot to grab a stiff drink and have some off the wall conversations with the customers and bartender.

Should you be down for grabbing a beer at a dive bar with some rowdy locals though, this may be the place for you after all... With half of downtown Delray's parking taken up by the tennis event, we ended up at the Sail Inn, and as this was my first time walking in the door, I was reminded of Obi Wan'z famous description of Mos Eisley. But it grows on you... The Sail Inn is in every sense of the phrase, a "dive bar". From the cacophony of voices assaulting you on entry, to the sticky bar top and tables, to the competing smells of stale beer, sweat, and too much perfume. We were greeted immediately, and we were served quickly, though there was no smile on the face of our harried bartender, we were just one more round of beers to pour, and though it was a busy night, he was on top of things and no one was complaining. Opting for the spacious outside patio area over the crowded inside, the din was quieted, and we got to enjoy our drinks in relative peace. Be warned this area is for smokers. The only thing keeping this place from getting another star was their weird outdoor seating policy. At 11pm anyone sitting outside enjoying the comfortable and apparently newly renovated patio has to move up into a small space next to the building. This concentrated all the smokers into one small area where we could not enjoy breathing anymore so we left.
