I placed an order online for an in-store pickup. We arrived about 20 minutes later and the pizza was ready and looked perfect. The only complaint I have is the lack of curbside pickup and easy parking to pick up the order. When we arrived, there were piles of cars basically parked illegally in front of the stores --some were parked in such a way nobody could make a left turn easily or safely. If parking wasn't such an issue, we'd be more willing to order often too! After a closer look, I had not realized that &pizza had another location in downtown Bethesda and I initially went to the wrong location LOL! No worries! I get to try a new location. This location is right downtown Bethesda. Please be mindful that parking can be a challenge. Luckily for me, I found parallel parking right outside the door. This location is smaller than others. They do have provisions for social distancing and COVID-19 precautions. My pizza were delicious. It was made to order and had everything I requested. The staff was super friendly and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I think the app makes it much easier. So I placed a fairly large order (10 pizzas) for delivery, and was not satisfied with how my order was fulfilled. All the pizzas were either not labeled or mislabeled entirely, and some of the pizza boxes didn't have the protective tabs on the box (placed for tamper proof protection). So giving away the pizzas, to celebrate some of my work staff, was a complete hassle. All the boxes had to be opened in order verify the type of pizza being handed over, which meant the few boxes that had the protective seals had to be broken open. Luckily, my staff was very understanding and so thankful for the free lunch gesture. Overall, the pizza tasted on point with the &pizza brand, but think twice if you're placing a large order at this location. Perhaps, place the order in person, so you can ensure appropriate packaging and labeling. And Ive been to this surrounding area several times, so parking is pain too-just a heads up. read more

Today, however, I was able to take my time and really create something special. Off the bat I have to say that the crust used by &pizza is much better than Gusto. I chose to go with onions, fresh mozzarella, and a handful of other delicious toppings. Everything tasted fresh and the fig balsamic drizzle took my pizza to a whole new level. It's sweet and sticky and has a hint of smoky flavor. If you're eating in the restaurant make sure to buy a soda cup and try all of their handcrafted drinks. So, to make it quick and easy, I ordered my pizzas through their app. And it was quick and easy. One of my pizzas was just getting its finishing touches when I walked in the door. I had the Moonstruck because I love mushrooms on my pizza. I bought the Caesar pizza sans the bacon for my pal. It's different than the salad pizza posted in the outdated menu photos on this page. Hers had chicken on it. The fresh tomatoes and lettuce were added when the pizza came out of the oven. She loved hers. Mine was okay. I prefer a cheesier pizza, so next time I will create my own and stick with just mushrooms and not the other fancy toppings. The crust is nice and crunchy. You get to choose every aspect of your pizza from the type of dough, sauce, and toppings! They don't charge extra for most toppings, you can get as many as you'd like. I've never really liked &pizza. I think their marketing is good and their service is quick, but the pizza just isn't that amazing. I checked out this Bethesda location using a BOGO deal and I was disappointed. It was during the pandemic that I went so they were only doing takeout. When I went to pick up my pizzas, I had an awkward encounter with the dude working the front. I had my mask on, and said my name to him, clearly. He then turned his head as if he was looking around outside to see if there were pizzas or other people there. Confused a bit, I didn't realize until afterwards, but he was just turning his ear towards me so he could hear me better. This came off as extremely rude because he had this smirk on his face as if I was stupid. This may have well been a racist encounter. He could have just said, "Sorry, could you repeat your name please?" Instead, his body language was just condescending. Their pizza is definitely not worth this guy's treating people like rotting pizza boxes. A side of poor customer service comes with your lackluster pizza with hardly any toppings on it (see pictures I posted for sad-looking pies). Get your pizza fix somewhere else. My daughter and I stopped by due to a friends recommendation. I like that the menu is limited to only a few selections which makes it easier to choose from. Each pie is a little over $10 and is also cut into 8 pieces which makes it easy to share. We had the American Honey pizza which was good, just wish the were more generous with the toppings. The seating is very limited, perhaps 10 diners or less can sit at once indoors, but there are a few tables/seats outdoors. Staff was okay, not very personable, topping station was a bit messy, and pizza lacked a little something, could use a little bit of seasoning. Worth a try, sure, not sure if I'll try again. One thing that could be a huge improvement is not serving pizzas in a box if they aren't to go...huge waste of boxes. The trash can is filled the to the rim with empty boxes. This has been bothering me for a month now, and so I decided to write it in words. I used to go to this location often, more accurately, a few years ago. I received a gift card (also a few years ago) and was feeling a pizza mood a month ago, so I decided to go in and use the card. I walked in and asked the employee at the cash register if he could check the balance of the gift card. I didn't have high hopes because it's been years. However, He rudely responded back something along the lines of "how would I know". And so I repeated my question more clearly, and asked where I could find out if not here. He responded "no idea". Again, I was planning on getting pizza anyways but his rude demeanor and unwillingness to help not only ticked me off, but also made me worried that the lack of care would result in the lack of...good pizza even if I ordered. So I thanked him and walked right next door to chipotle instead. I want to note that the back of the gift card says to find out the balance, to visit the store (pictured below). And I know for a fact that this was purchased at the Bethesda &Pizza. Anyways I'm sure the quality hasn't deteriorated, but the moral of this post is that a certain employee may need to be retrained or...idk it would be nice if he wasn't that rude/unpleasant. read more

I already liked this &pizza location. It's one of the smaller ones-probably fewer than ten seats inside, but it's in a central accessible location and I like the vibe. I'm writing an update because I wanted to convey my thoughts on their new gluten-free crust. I have no problem with gluten myself-it is delicious and I eat plenty of it-but I tried the GF crust out of curiosity. They offered to take extra precautions if I needed them. Of course, for someone with an extreme allergy who can't handle a molecule of gluten, you probably shouldn't eat here (or at most places), but they do take preparation seriously here. The crust is sorghum-based, and it is really quite good. It is a little bit crispier but still has a slight soft fluffiness to it and a bit sweeter, but it browned up nicely. Honestly, it wasn't radically different from the regular crust they offer, and I genuinely enjoyed it and felt like I was eating a real pizza. The employee preparing the crusts told me that the staff liked eating this one, whereas they would not eat the old GF option (I never tried that one). I believe him. The GF crust of course costs more, so I wouldn't order it every time, but I endorse it for those in need. What goes on top of the crust is good, as always, with plenty of sauce options, delicious fresh mozzarella, and as always, spicy chickpeas. I was in Bethesda visiting a friend and she told me that she and her husband eat here about once a week! I love good pizza and this is really good pizza! I was able to get a 1/2 and 1/2 of whatever I wanted which made me even happier. So I got 1/2 traditional and 1/2 white and got the best of both worlds. Their dough is shaped like flatbread and great to eat alone or share. It's fast and you can watch your pie (I use that term lightly because he crust is very delicate and airy) go through the oven and come out bubbly and delicious. Another great feature is at the end of the line when you can add some toppings freestyle with no extra cost (olives, cheeses, basil etc).
