We found Andalous on Apple Maps while driving home from a local mall. The food tasted amazing! It was absolutely amazing. The cucumber was crisp, the tomatoes burst with flavor, the fact that it was a buffet was awesome and it wasn't expensive. The only reason I wouldn't give 5* is because there were some areas that weren't exactly clean. (Dirty towel by the soda machine for example). I'll definitely be back because the food was awesome, and the people were really nice. I highly recommend all of the food they had because every dish I tasted was perfection. read more

We were so excited to come here and see that restaurant had been changed from cafeteria style to buffet! I love the location in Irving but this one is closer to work so I get to enjoy it more often. It's soooooooo good!!!! I love the vegetables and the hummus options. The meats are delicious. Everything is delicious. read more

A sequel might not be good as the first time but not in this case.This was the second time we ate as a family at this place. I didn't do a review because I knew we'd be back to eat. The place is located next to highway and you need to enter via access road. Plenty of parking in the front of the restaurant. As you enter you pay, it ran $54 for 5 of us with drinks included (5th person is under 2yrs). The seating is ample and good for a large family. You can serve yourself with no Covid protocols at hand. The restrooms are located on the right side area of the establishment. The restrooms are small and it can be a bit of a problem with a wheelchair. The selection includes cold salads, different hummus, warm sides, gyro meat, different types of chicken and some deserts. You can purchase baklava for your family. The area is very clean and serving areas stocked up and warm. In case you have little kids like us, they have chicken nuggets and fries. I can let you know for this family who loves to eat, at this price, positive customer service and the music...YES it's a must to visit. If you're a fat guy like me, you'll love this place. read more

It was good. The food was freshly made and you can watch bread baking from most seats in the restaurant. The dolmas are smaller than most places but that's for the best because you can pop the whole thing in your mouth and not have any spillage on your clothes. read more

I've been to this restaurant a few times. But today, the food was much better. There was a great croud but you don't have to wait. The selections were awesome and the food was fresh. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a large variety of Mediterranean dishes at a fair price. read more

In an area with lots of transplants from the Middle East, there are a number of Mediterranean restaurants up and down 75 between Allen and Dallas, and many of them are very good. On this, my second visit to Andalous, one of two locations in the DFW area, I decided to bring the whole family. We were not disappointed. Arriving for Sunday lunch buffet, we were greeted and seated quickly. The bulk of the clientele was overwhelmingly Middle Eastern, a very good sign for any place serving ethnic cuisine. The place is very clean, well maintained, and was attended by friendly but not overbearing wait staff. The buffet is more or less broken up into 4 sections: Dips & salads, hot vegetables, Meat & Fish dishes, and desserts. The first impression was excellent, as every item looks incredibly fresh and very appetizing. A nice selection of various types of hummus was presented, as well as Baba Ganoush, and tzatziki. All were freshly prepared and delicious. For the salad and veggie lover, there is something for everyone, from Greek salad, to couscous and pasta salads, to various offerings with eggplant, beets, spinach and more. Naturally, Taboulleh is a featured item, fresh as can be with hints of fresh mint and lemon juice. Several different hot vegetable dishes were offered, including roasted cauliflower (a bit overcooked, but tasty), okra, eggplant, Parmesan spinach (delicious!), coriander potatoes, Italian green beans, and more. My wife and daughter could practically have made a meal just with the dips, salads, veggies, and fresh pita! So far, so good. Next, the meats & seafood, as well as several kinds of rice. Rice is a staple of Middle Eastern food, and a good bed of it is essential for any kabob, Shawarma or other grilled meat. The various rices at Andalous are tasty enough, but all of them seemed overcooked. Rather than being light and fluffy as one would expect, these seemed a bit mushy and wet. One of the few disappointments. Overall, the meats were very good. While the lamb shank was a bit tough and gristly, the Shawarma was very tasty, the red snapper was delicious, and most of the chicken dishes were excellent. The sauces vary enough - from the bright, tart Andalous chicken to the not-too-spicy and very flavorful curry chicken - that there is something for everyone. As one would expect with a buffet though, the dishes with dark meat chicken tended to more tender than the those made with chicken breast, which while tasty tended to be on the dry side. Finally, the desserts included an assortment of fresh fruit, rice pudding, and small chocolate brownies. I'd have loved to seen baklava on the dessert table, but these are available on the side for an additional fee. Overall, there were many more positives than not for Andalous Mediterranean Buffet. This is an area and a market with a lot of competition but this stands out as one of the better offerings in the area.S read more

Great atmosphere and welcoming vibe. The cleanliness of this place was a huge plus for us especially during ya know, covid. I love the freshness of the food and the different variety of foods to choose from. My youngest is a vegetarian and was so happy to have so many options JUST FOR HER. Outdoor seating here as well. The salads were good. The lentil soup and the pita bread were tasty. Other than than, it was a disappointment across the board. Dry and tasteless shawarma meat. Overcooked kebabs. The worse falafel I have ever had. Even the rice (only 2 choices) was mediocre. The quality and the freshness of the food was dismal for a $19.99 buffet. They will NEVER see me again; many much better choices for this kind of food and not too far. read more

The restaurant was moderately okay, definitely did not live up to the expectations I had. Although I did enjoy the architecture and the decorations it had, the food wasn't very good. The bread was rock hard, the chicken was over cooked and hard to swallow, the hummus was bland and most of what else I ate was subpar at best. There were tables around me covered in dirty plates and the table my family and I sat at, which was supposed to be clean, was wet and had food crumbs all over. The bathrooms were exceptionally dirty to the point where I eventually just decided to wait until I got home. Overall I probably wouldn't go back again, I'm sure I could find another Mediterranean restaurant with better food in the area. read more

Came into this restaurant with a blank canvas. From the get go I noticed a clean Buffett area with not too many options around for me to choose. The costumer service was on an average small restaurant level, didn't really get seated so I had to choose what table to dine at, but that's not really a problem when you're judging the food. Coming down to my small options I decided to eat a vegetable Mix that included zucchini, mushroom, and some other greens that appeared to be steamed. Paired that up with some sweet corn, then I went on to the meats where I found a wide variety of chicken plates, but decided on the curry style chicken ( which was honestly really good, it was juicy , perfect temperature, so the curry soaked chicken just hit the rite taste buds.) some kofta w zucchini as well, at last I decided to try the chicken wings and fried fish. Because if you can't make those two simple dishes then you've really failed. In my opinion they passed the test thus far bringing them to a solid 4 stars which will remain this way until they decide to put out more options. Solid spot to eat if you're craving Mediterranean food. read more

No kabobs, no Gyro meat, chicken was dry and cold, beef was cold and tough, falafel was burned and overcooked, cauliflower over cooked and cold. The best thing I found on the buffet line were the cold sides and hummus. NOT worth the money and sad that we had to leave there and go find something to eat that was good. Not sure if the afternoon on a Saturday is just bad timing but we paid full price and expected the food quality to reflect that. read more

Popped in Sunday night 02/23/20 for dinner after we found out Ali Baba was closed on Sundays. Salads were ok and seemed fresh, but had been out a while and starting to wilt. Kale salad was blown out with sugar. Potatoes so salty you can't even eat them. Undercooked gyro meat was wet and squishy weird and not browned at all. Just mushy seemingly under-cooked. Yikes! I've been back several times. In fact, I'm eating lunch at the restaurant right now. Unfortunately, no more of that amazing baklava on the buffet... they replaced it with ice cream. *yawn* lol. This restaurant still has THE BEST salad selection out of all the Mediterranean Buffets. People rave about Afrah... I don't get it... I like Andalous way better. Staff is friendly. Owner was at register today.... he had me sign up for the 5Star Rewards Program. My only gripe is sometimes the line to pay at the front moves way too slow. Oh, and depending on what time of day, the food might not be the hottest... but that's a problem at most buffets. Otherwise, this is now my new go-to for Mediterranean Buffets. read more

We arrived at 11:45, so they had been open almost an hour. ALL of the food was cold. Our guess is it was yesterday's leftovers. After asking about the cold food they got out some hot food. The food was ok, but not worth going back again. We also learned that if you cash tip at the front the managers keep those tips, and if you tip on a credit card the owner keeps those tips. read more

Food is excellent however it is too expensive compared to other similar buffets. I would have given it 4 stars if the following were fixed: The tea is horrible bc it's from a tea making machine and not brewed fresh. By horrible I mean flat out disgusting. There is no water coming out of the fountains so unless we wanted sugar sodas we were forced to buy $2+ bottles of water. I told them the water wasn't working and the girl at the front still charged me. Completely unacceptable. This should knock it down to 2 stars or less. And... No tahini!!!!???? ‍ Lots of dairy, gluten and nut free options but I eat all that so this wasn't a positive for me. read more

I'm picky with hummus so I don't normally order it from random places. He'll learn someday. He also didn't like a spice that was in the Kafta. It was probably nutmeg or cumin or a combination of both. I also have learned my lesson with Mediterranean cuisine that I'm unfamiliar with. I don't like cinnamon or those pumpkin pie variety of spices in my meat so I never order anything that's beef or lamb. In their defense, I bet the meat was delicious if you like those spices. I wish they had included ketchup for my fries. I'd order from here again.

The steak was served medium rare, very juicy, on top of a long rice (similar to rice pasta), and it was coated in a delicious seasoning completely unfamiliar to us. It came with roasted tomatoes & purple onion. You can select from several sides, we picked the hummus. It was a huge portion, enough for 2 people. The chef was so pleased to have us and was very impressed that we were there to learn. He gave us many "generous" sized samples of the sides and sauces they offered. Everything was made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients from their grocery store. It was a wonderful experience! The bakery aspect of this location is a small glass display case full of sweets, like macaroons, cheesecake baklava, and more. Most of them were new to us. The pastry chef gave us a few samples that had us buying a bunch to take home, lol. We strolled through the grocery store part of the market before leaving and bought a few items we already enjoyed. The difference was buying things that are made in-house, like pita bread. You can definitely see, smell, and taste the difference. The restaurant is tucked into a strip mall on the back side of the Alamo Drafthouse shopping center in Richardson which is why I always forget about it. It backs up to Hwy 75 making it convenient for those passing through. It's easy access from the highway. The restaurant is clean and bright with an upscale snack bar feel. It has a few tables inside. There is a large tv playing music videos in Arabic and the strong, fast beat fills the place making it more of a fun hangout for young people rather than a relaxing sit down meal for a family, but both were present. You order and pay from the counter. I took my food to go and ate at home. I just didn't feel like cooking. I got a combo meal that included a chicken shawarma, small fries, and a bottle of coca cola. You can get the shawarma wrapped in pita or the default which is a thinner crispier tortilla type wrap. The spits of chicken and beef are seen turning and burning.
