Ginger Eggplant with veggies
Cathy H.

Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of friends for dinner and got seated right away. The decor is cute and it's a relatively casual spot. We shared chicken skewers, roti with curry, eggplant and veggies stir fry, pad Thai, drunken noodles, and pumpkin curry with coconut rice. Everything was good and what you would expect when you order Thai food. Portion sizes were big, prices were reasonable, and service was quick. I would recommend giving them a try if you're craving Thai food and are in the area!

We ordered and ate too much lol. We had a fulfilling and a delicious lunch just earlier.

Tofu Madness

Finally got a chance to go!! Waiter recommended Tofu Madness since we liked spicy stuff and were eating vegetarian. Just from the look I could tell that this was unlike any other tofu I've ever eaten (I've had ALOT of Thai food). The tofu resembled paneer and tasted very nice and juicy and you could not tell that it was tofu and not paneer. And this was one of the rare dishes where black pepper didn't overpower the dish and you could still taste other flavors within. Also got Tofu Drunken Noodle with this and they were very nice as well. I got and LOVED the Lychee Iced Tea and sipped it every time I felt the tofu spice hitting for the nice cooling effect. Definitely coming back here next time and trying the meat!

Tried three different dishes. Everything on the menu looked good. Prices were reasonable, service was pleasant and very attentive. All the dishes were flavorful and there is a hot sauce caddy if you want to add some heat or some sour to your dish. The place is small, but tables turned over regularly and there was a decent flow. The food came out really fast. They were also doing a lot of togo orders. Overall it was a nice meal, good size portions for a fair price. If you want something totally innovative and new, this might not be the place, but if you are craving Thai food and are in the area, this will probably do the trick.

Thai iced coffee

Andaman is one of our local Thai places. They are family owned and on the San Ramon Marketplace. Today we had iced chai coffee which we like better than chai tea. We order items with minimal heat when possible. The Papaya salad had a nice flavor without being too spicy. The lemongrass chicken, nicely prepared, had the standard Thai spices we like. Servers are also friendly and helpful. Inside the restaurant is nicely laid out and pleasant. Today at noon the restaurant was packed and some were using the outside tables. We recommend Andaman Thai.

Pineapple Fried Rice

Came here on a packed Friday night at the San Ramon location. Parking can be tough but we found it was easier to find a spot on the Trader Joe's side of the lot. We had a group of 3 and ordered a bunch of food to share. Even though it was busy, our server was very attentive and took the time to explain the menu to us. The portions are no joke, we were barely able to finish everything. Here is what we got: Pineapple Fried Rice: Definitely try this if you come here. It comes served in a real pineapple which is a nice touch and tastes amazing. Yellow Chicken Curry: This was so so good. They use dark meat chicken so it was super juicy and tender, not dry at all. Drunken Noodle with Beef: Solid flavor and good amount of beef. Fried Calamari: Crispy and a good starter. None of our food had spice warnings and it was all perfectly fine to eat, nothing was too spicy. Overall a great food experience with solid service. We left stuffed.

Tom Kha

Had a good meal at Andaman Thai. Tried the Tom Kha chicken soup, which had great flavor, though the chicken pieces were quite large for a soup and a bit awkward to eat. The curry puff was okay, but could've used a bit more depth in flavor. That said, the soft shell crab was really good and so was the cashew nut chicken--both well-cooked and flavorful. Overall, a solid meal at reasonable prices. Service was quick and friendly, and the ambience is warm and inviting with lots of greenery that makes the space feel relaxed and pleasant.

Best Thai place I've had in the tri valley area! We ordered so much stuff and yet finished it all. Soft shell crab, satay chicken, Tom kha, green curry, and goong krieter. It was all super good. The tom kha could have used more veggies perhaps. The green curry was my favorite and I think the green curry is the best way to measure a Thai restaurant's level. Service was great as well. They have outdoor seating too for a sunny day. Will definitely come back!

I highly recommend this location as there is no parking fee. Plenty of parking at the back right outside of the entrance. Also walkable to TJ in just a minute. Server is as very attentive and I especially like the pineapple fried rice and the moist rice noodles. Ambiance is nice: not too bright not too dark. Will come again.

It has been awhile since I have been here. Food is descent and service is fine. My friends and I came around 11:30am and we were seated right away. By the time we finished eating around 12:30pm, there was a line at the door. The seafood sizzling plate was delicious. My friend enjoyed her chicken noodle soup. The papaya salad was so so for me. Overall, I would come back for the seafood sizzling plate and the usual popular Thai dishes here. There is msg at this restaurant. The restaurant is cute and clean. Ambiance is great. They also have patio seating. If you want a quieter atmosphere, sit outside.

Pad Thai

Hidden gem! Tucked away in the busy parking lot of TJ's there's an amazing spot for incredible Thai food! Andaman is the place to go! To be honest, we're Thai rookies and played it safe and everything we ordered was a 10/10! The only downside is it's a small place and with the lunch crowd it was VERY loud inside. But still worth it! We ordered meat crispy rolls and Satay Chicken for starters and strongly recommend both! Main course were the Pad Thai with chicken and pumpkin curry. That pad Thai was remarkable! Wifey absolutely loved her pumpkin curry. Wasn't for me, but if you like that kind of thing, she raved over it! We'll be back several more times!

Roti and Curry
Arnold B.

Andaman Thai has to be one of the best Thai food restaurants in the tri valley area. Went an hour before closing on a Friday night, and the place was busssy, however we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The restaurant is very clean and has plenty of inside and outdoor seating. The menu is easy to go through and we ended up ordering Roti and curry Papaya salad Pad see eew with chicken Grilled whole fish Mango sticky rice The food was delicious and nicely presented definitely coming back here again to try more of their food. Service was good too! I ordered a sprite at the beginning of my meal but I never ended up getting it but I wasn't bummed out about it cause I'm not even supposed to be drinking sugar so I took it as a sign lol, but it was nothing to fret over, and they didn't charge me for it either. Great food will be back again.

Basil fried rice, lemongrass chicken

Restaurant was completely full, which is a great sign. Was put on a waitlist for lunch and waited only about 10 minutes. The servers were very quick and extremely friendly. This is the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at thus far so I can't give it any less than 5 stars. Every single item tasted perfect regarding cook and flavor. My favorite dish was the tamarind prawns, if you go here do yourself a favor and order them!

Customer service is great, they are quick too, but the food is not as good as it used to be. Not as flavorful.

Just stepping in lifts your spirit and creates joy. The thoughtful decor and beautiful design immediately stand out, creating a special atmosphere, even if you are simply meeting friends for lunch on a weekday. I never expected to find such a stunning restaurant tucked into a shopping strip in the heart of San Ramon. One Hour Bistro is truly a delightfull find. The same attention to detail reflected in the decor is also evident in the quality of the ingredients and the incredible flavors of each dish. Crystal glasses in a Thai restaurant? YES! They also offer mocktails which I wish I had time to try and savor. I ordered the Kao Soi Braised Short Ribs, and it was absolutely stunning; beautifully presented, generously portioned, and deeply comforting. The rich broth, tender bone-in ribs, and flavorful noodles made every bite memorable. I couldn't even finish the entire dish because I wanted to savore it slowly. The Pad See Ew was a silky, heavenly treat. The rice noodles were succulent, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was coated in a rich, flavorful sauce. If your driving through San Ramon, this is a MUST try. If you live in the area, lucky you!

I forgot to take a picture of the garlic sriracha wings, but they were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sweet and spicy. We also ordered the chicken larb, the short rib massaman curry, and the Tamarind Tara cocktail. Everything was delicious, and the cocktail was a great complement to the meal. The standout dish is the short rib massaman curry. The moment we took our first bite, we both looked at each other because it was that good! The short rib was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. The curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it easily became the favorite dish of the night. Overall, we had a great experience with delicious food, great service, and a fun atmosphere for celebrating. The restaurant itself is small and cute, but my mom and I were seated right away at around noonish on Sunday! That might have been because everyone was busy at world cup parties, though. We ordered: - thai iced teas - the khao hom waffle - samosas - roti with curry dip - koong karee The thai teas were unfortunately on the milky side, and weren't very strong tasting. I recommend the lychee iced tea instead! When I used to go, I always got the thai tea pancake but they have since removed it from their menu. Although this was a pretty devastating revelation, I went with their waffle instead. I thought that the waffle still super delicious, and I loved that it had coconut meat cooked into the batter. It comes garnished with fruit and coconut flakes, which was a plus. While I thought it was a delicious choice, I do not think it was a proper replacement for my thai tea pancake. The samosas and roti were both so delicious, flavorful, and savory. The portions aren't huge, but the flavors make up for it. The koong karee was the star of the show! The prawns were so well cooked, and came in the most delicious egg & curry sauce. I loved the vegetables that came in the dish, as well. You can't go wrong with the tiger prawns, and they go so well with some jasmine rice on the side. Overall, we keep coming back for good reason! The food is always so yummy, and I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. I hope they take this review as a plea for them to bring the thai tea pancake back, though! It was that good. Regardless, I will be back!
