Did you know that National Compliment Day is the same day as National Peanut Butter Day? That must mean Peanut Butter = Compliments! Clearly, math does not work that way, but compliments of Nekter, I got a reward for a $6 Small Peanut Butter Smoothie, valid that day only. I hadn't been to Nekter in so long now that prices have gone up and my very few Nekter points have already expired. However, I was planning a day trip to La Habra, and there just happened to be a Nekter there! This Nekter Juice Bar is located in Westridge Plaza on the southeast corner of Beach and Imperial. It's in a small L-shaped strip mall of eateries adjacent to Beach Blvd and directly across from Walmart. When I came in, I saw a female employee (Ariana?) sweeping the floor right next to a lounge area in the near corner of the shop. Already, I was starting to feel some cozy vibes and could tell it would make for a nice place to kick back and relax after a long day of shopping. Ariana greeted me and asked if I was here to pick up an order; I told her I wanted to redeem that reward on my account, so she went all the way around the pickup counter to take my order. I thought there would have been only one choice for the Peanut Butter Smoothie, but Ariana said there were actually four: Health Nut, PB Mocha, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and PB&J. The menu was posted closer to the front door, which I find odd, especially because a couple of customers had just come in at that point. Not wanting to be that one customer holding up the line, I just went with a childhood favorite: PB&J. Always good in sandwich form, but in a smoothie?! Let's find out! The wait was only three minutes before Ariana was finished with my smoothie, so it was a quick stop. During those three minutes, the two customers in front had gotten their order, which included a takeout bag, and left. I suspect they had an online order, hence why it was an even quicker stop for them. The peanut butter was on top, and the jelly was on the bottom. Since the small 16 oz cup was quite small, it was difficult mixing it together, especially with how thick the smoothie was. Not only that, I didn't taste much of the jelly inside the smoothie, so it was really more like a MPBANJ (Mostly Peanut Butter and Almost No Jelly) smoothie lol. That smoothie is normally $9.39, and I would have been a little unhappy paying $9.39 for a smoothie that didn't exude as much jelly flavor in spite of how much jelly there appeared to be at first. Nevertheless, it was a tasty and refreshing smoothie, but I wish I had gotten a different PB one instead. I certainly would have considered the PB Mocha, which contains coffee, but it was close to 5 PM when I visited, and I think coffee this late in the afternoon would have given me insomnia that night. Service was good from the two female employees inside the shop. They were pretty welcoming to me and the party of two who came in after me. However, Ariana missed an 'e' when entering my name at the register, so my name was Drek lol. That was really the only flaw I saw from her. Overall, not bad! If I were on a Nekter kick and lived in La Habra, I'd certainly make this my go-to location. Since there are a couple of other locations closer to me, I almost certainly won't return to this one, but if this location is closest to you, rest assured that you can get some nice and healthy smoothies here albeit at a rather high cost. read more

I'd go elsewhere if I had a choice and they just gave me more the reason to look elsewhere today. Their Functional Bowls are listed at $11.99. The clerk charged me $13.49 without any explanation. Either the clerk or the store is trying to pull a fast one on me. They will be hearing from my bank for this fraudulent behavior. Their food sucks and give very little fruit/granola. Again, I only come here because it's the only acai place nearby. And the service here is terrible, ran by entitled people with attitudes who aren't helpful. I love, love, love Nekter... Just not the one in La Habra. Unfortunately, the customer service tha5 has become synonymous with the Nekter brand is lacking at the La Habra location. Additionally, I've used Yelp to check into every Nekter I've been to, to either leave a review or for the complimentary ginger shot. However, although it's clearly advertised on Yelp, the cashier was unfamiliar with the coupon (see attached photo). When she asked her coworker, a young man said we don't accept those. When I asked why, he was unable to provide a clear explanation and added that the location only used "the app." As a long time Nektar Customer I found his explanation ridiculous. I have been to a Nektar a couple years ago to the Pasadena location. My girlfriend and I wanted a nice refreshing smoothie and acai bowl, so we decided to come here. However, I remember it being a lot better than what I tasted a week ago. Food: My acai mango bowl didn't have much flavor. It was refreshing, but I felt like it was missing something. Maybe the fruit wasn't sweet enough, but I would have liked more mango in the bowl. My girlfriend's pink flamingo smoothie was better tasting than mines. My acai bowl expectation is pretty high, so maybe that's why it didn't meet expectations. Ambiance: The inside is very appealing. There is a long bench to sit at and to enjoy yourself. Great juice joint with high quality healthy products. I finally tried Nektar for the first time this week, and I'm so happy it's a chain because I loved my drink so much that I had to find the nearest shop to me, which is right here at the La Habra location. Last time I tried the Toxin Flush and today I tried the Green Apple Detox. Both juices were great and tasted super fresh and refreshing, but the Toxin Flush was a little sweeter so that's my favorite thus far. And I love how healthy and how good I felt about myself afterwards, especially considering how lately my drink of choice has been milk teas. The price is $6.25 for the small (16 oz), so it's a little more than what I'm used to spending on drinks but that's to be expected for good quality healthy options. Another point in Nektar's favor is that when you ask for ice, they give you your juice in the larger cup size and then add ice so that your drink is actually the 16 oz you paid for. I've never been to any other place that does this, so I was definitely impressed. Anyways, I would eventually like to try most of the drinks on offer. read more

I prefer other locations since I only get eh smoothies from here. The staff was alright this time around, but the girl was totally confused when I asked about their vegan ice cream. She acted like she had never heard of scoops before or couldn't tell me the prices. Eventually I was able to learn the flavors and get a sample of the blue one. Ohmygosh, it is SOOOOO GOOOOD. I got the Pumpkin Almond Bowl the other day, and ate it for breakfast this morning. It was so good! I recalled from last year when the Pumpkin Almond Bowl had starberries, raw pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes, and I think the granola was regular. Now, the Pumpkin Almond Bowl is really different. Starting last week, the Health Nut drinks changed and now have unsweetened chocolate chips in them which slightly changes the texture of the smooth peanut butter, but you can always ask them to take it out. It says there was fruit in the drink but it tasted like a garden. I'll give this place 3 stars. If my husband was dieting for a bodybuilding competition, it would be great. I've been in here twice since my previous unhappy review and I'd glad to say that my thoughts have been turned around. The staff has been pretty great, albeit not over the top friendly (which is totally fine) but definitely not the opposite either. I've gone in the last 2 times on Friday afternoons at around 12:15 and one time it was busy, the other time it was dead. So I guess its just hit or miss. I still would think that this location is better than the Brea one, although I havent been to the Brea one in a long time so I dont know if they are still playing their loud shitty club music.
