I came into this shop with my daughter, to begin they don't have a working booster seat, setbelt is brI had asked for A Bagel with Bacon, egg, & cheese. Once I got it, i noticed it was missing bacon. I had asked the lady if I could get bacon and I wouldn't mind the extra charge, and she comes with an attitude saying "you only asked for cheese and egg." And continued to complain in the back with her coworker, clearly upset. If you have a problem with being kind, you shouldn't work in customer service at all. read more

I feel like this place is a one stop shop. I can't believe I've never been here before. It's on a busy Whittier Blvd across the street from the north gate market. They have donuts and pastries, a variety of milks and juices, and they even have boba drinks which I wasn't expecting. They have a good menu for sandwiches and croissants. I can get breakfast and lunch all in one here. The staff was friendly and gave suggestions. The establishment is clean and smells good inside. This donut shop is super easy to drive right by and not even notice. It is looked in an inconspicuous little strip mall off of Whittier Blvd directly across from the O'Reilly's Auto Parts store. Parking is tight and there is only about 10 spots that are shared with the other businesses around it. But it is worth coming stopping by! Upon walking in, I was surprised by their selection of donuts available at around 4pm. Usually most donut shops have only the donuts that no one likes available, but not this one. This one was almost fully stocked (which made choosing what I wanted harder). I settled for some donut holes, the wife decided on a cake donut with chocolate frosting. The donut holes were the perfect texture of airy doughiness. The were hardish on the outside and super soft on the inside which gave it a nice bite. The lady behind the counter gave me 2 cake donut holes to try them out, I am not a cakey donut fan so they really didn't do anything for me. My really enjoyed her donut as well, she said that the cake donut was nice and chewy, not hard and cardboardy like some of the other places around. Looking around at their menu: Nachos, Hot Cheetos with Cheese, Chips, Drinks, Donuts, Croissants, Breakfast sandwiches Overall, they got a fan in the wife and I. Amazing little bakery that exceeded my expectations! I came here near closing expecting to find only the old donut leftovers, but to my surprise the donut racks were fully loaded with some of the best donuts around! AT 7 PM! Most donut places I've been to make worse donuts at 6 am than this place does at 7 pm. That is insanely awesome. Service was very friendly and polite, though I'm not sure the employee working there had the best of English. Didn't affect our experience in the slightest though. She was exceptional and went out of her way to make the containers for our cupcakes fit without ruining them, which was appreciated. From the bakery side I decided to try what was advertised as cupcakes with filling, which I've never heard of before so it got my attention. I got a lemon cupcake with black cherry vanilla frosting (that sounds like a heavenly combination, no?) and a yellow cake cupcake with what seemed like regular vanilla frosting. While my family wasn't big fans of these, I enjoyed them as they are incredibly light, surprisingly so in fact. The frosting is very mild and airy, and I'm not sure what they mean by 'filling' except there is some extra flavor in the middle of the cupcake, not quite any kind of filling though. I think most people would be disappointed in them though, as there isn't much flavor in them, but I enjoy the light sweet delight. Bright and cheery... and I'm talking about both the shop and the workers! What a great place to stop in a grab a little (or a lot of) something to eat! C'mon, look at those donuts! Fresh and fun! ...do I detect M&Ms? Bacon donuts? Fruit Loops donuts? Why yes, they've got all kinds of those trending donuts in their bright beautiful display! Although I don't drink coffee, many people were enjoying a cup o'joe. My mom thought it was awful, but she's one picky coffee drinker. So, I guess it's a matter of preference. However, almost everyone had some, just an observation I made. I've had a couple of their donuts and they were so delicious! I didn't detect any shelf-life taste to them, so they must have been fresh! No greasy weirdness or bad aftertaste, just sweet spongy goodness. Many kinds I'd like to try. My niece and I each have had their croissant sandwich. The bread on hers was soggy and she thought the sausage was more "hot doggish" than breakfast sausage. But she still enjoyed her sammich, regardless. That didn't stop me from trying one on a subsequent visit... although I opted for the bacon, egg and cheese with added jalapenos. FAN-TAS-TIC!!!! I'd have it again in a heartbeat. The bacon was perfect; thick, crunchy, not cheapy or fatty. I know the place is new and I'm sure there are some kinks to work out, but just stopping in for the few times I have, it always seems sunshiny and happy! And that's not just the array of gorgeous cupcakes staring at me either (which WILL be devoured on a future visit, I'm sure). They are modern with a tablet at the sales register too, fancy schmanzy for my beloved town of La Habra. I ended up at this bakery while waiting for my phone to be fixed at a nearby shop. As soon as I stepped in, I could tell that this place was spankin' clean. The tables were spotless with no trash in sight. Nobody was in the store, and I waited about 30 seconds to be greeted by a very sweet lady. I told her I wanted the special for 8.99 (plus tax), which includes a sandwich, can of soda, a bag of chips, and a donut of your choice. I picked the tuna sandwich (with croissant bread) and the maple donut. Within a few minutes, lunch was ready! The sandwich tasted fresh and was loaded with tuna. The donut was also delicious! No stale donuts -- even at 2pm! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take at photos because my phone was being repaired, but I was pleasantly impressed by the beautiful selection of donuts, deliciousness of the food at such a random place, and the sweetness of the shop owner. Sunrise Donuts and Bakery is a above average Mom & Pop donut shop. They have not been open too long, and it shows. The shop is very clean. Everything from the bright walls to the lovely display cases to the dining tables was spotless. Great place to hangout and enjoy a donut or two or three.... If donuts are not your thing, I did notice that there other treats available. On to the donuts! 5 stars from my twin nieces! One said the Sprinkled donut was the best she ever had. The other twin said her Sugar donut was very good. Those 10 year old girls are quite picky so 5 stars from them is impressive. Both my Chocolate French Cruller and Custard filled Chocolate donut satisfied my tummy. Above average quality. (4 stars) I suspect they will be open a long time. Walking in I was greeted with a friendly, "Good morning!" I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant for breakfast as my first sampling of this new donut and bakery (and more) shop. The croissant was beautifully buttery, slightly fluffy and flaky. The bacon was crisp and the egg was fully cooked (though I'm more a fan of half cooked/slightly runny eggs). The sandwich, at a little over $4.00 was good. The doughnuts here were all freshly made ad looked the part even at 8:00 am. They have all your favorites here and they are light and fluffy, perfectly glazed or frosted and lightly sprinkled with toppings (so that they aren't overly sweet). They offer a bunch of other food items here including sandwiches, breakfast burritos and even nachos....what?!?! They aren't listed on the menu but you know a Yelper can spot a nacho cheese dispensing machine hiding in the corner when he checks out a new place. I'm not in the area often, but I intend on this being my new "go to" when I'm in town.
