amazing conchas! stopped by this morning and grabbed a handful for about 15$ service was nice

A bundle of joy during the holidays -- half a dozen hot tamales for lunch.
    Doug L.

The holidays are not the holidays without Tamales. Half a dozen hot red pork tamales are a bundle of joy. They make them without the corn husk but that doesn't matter. They are a nice size not huge but the quality and taste are phenomenal. The masa is not dense and dry instead soft velvety texture paired with a moist melt in your mouth pork with a mild tasty red sauce. I asked for five but the senora said how about a six -- why not! My wife asks me always to not go crazy and get too much but I will definitely eat them. We like to exchange home made eggs rolls for homemade tamales with our friends in Compton at their local bakery and restaurant but after five decades and several generations they retired about a year ago. This time of year and actually any time you feel like a great authentic homemade tasting tamale come here. You won't be disappointed though you may need to bring extra napkins and sit in your car since there's no tables -- it's pretty much all to go. But I don't think you will be able to wait till you get home. I couldn't. Enjoy and happy holidays!

Bread is good. The green tamales are my favorite. Tried the jello today that they have in the fridge and it was good, I really liked it. My husband likes the pizza bagel

Happy Valentine's Day 2025! They had cute heart-shaped conchas today!

My family has been shopping here for our pan dulce for over 45years. They have a great tasting food and their prices are reasonable.

The best tamales in the area. Always a smile and great customer service! Their Pond Dulce is amazing, especially the pineapple turnovers.

Ask the Community - La Central Bakery/Panaderia

What's the average price for a dozen tamales?

$24.50 is what I paid just this month. As I noted in my post, it's a bit more pricey than what others might sell for 1 dozen, but our families love them!! =)

For this first trip, I found myself enchanted by the more traditional Korean pastries - the sweet potato creamy red bean bun, the curry croquette, the salt breads and rice crackers (one of their most popular items they said.) Most everything costs between $3-5. What a steal! I ordered their new item -- a banana latte made with their own banana syrup and cold foam to go with a double shot of espresso. It was tasty though seeing the old timers with their hot brewed coffees and bean buns made me wish I'd gotten something hot too. All in all, I had a great time at Cafe Bleu and can't wait to come back and try some new things. There are lots of tables and plenty of room to meet up with friends or work or do your homework.

The chocolate cheesecake castella cake was super moist, the custard bread had the perfect balance of sweetness, soft and fluffy with just the right amount of filling. The almond bread was tasty too, with raisins mixed in for extra texture. One thing to note for anyone with nut allergies: although the ingredient label only listed almonds, there seemed to be other nuts present as we experienced an allergic reaction despite not being allergic to almonds.
