Due to serious illness, I was slow to reach out and complain. They offered me a second grooming at 50% off. It was a TERRIBLE DISASTER!! They shaved my dog completely including his tail ( a POODLE!) He looked like a rat with all his hair shaved off his body and especially his entire tail!! That was brutal! His face was very carelessly trimmed. My niece, who is a nurse, used her scissors to clean up his very messy face. Both times I had him groomed there, he came out upset and traumatized. Far more serious was the fact that he could NOT walk properly for nearly a week and he absolutely could not run. ( he is a two year old poodle who runs like the wind every day) . Had I not been so ill myself, I would have dealt with this at the time. My poor dog could not WALK!! He'd take a could of steps then sit. He kept turning his head towards his bum. Goodness knows WHAT they did to him! He was clearly in some pain and it was awful to see him trying to walk. So, the other two places I had him groomed were fine. Darma Dog is a place I would NEVER set foot in again. Recently, I talked with a woman at Trout Lake. Her dog had been groomed at Darma Dog. He also could hardly walk afterwards but she determined that his nails had been cut way too short causing pain when he walked. I loved the name Darma Dog. They were warm and friendly but my dog got really HARMED TWICE!

Not one of those fast turnover outfits where there are cages for dogs and meet up pet areas (which Olive no longer enjoys). It was one on one attention. Olive happily entered and left equally happily, with a spring in her step. Kinu is a sweetheart. She has two elderly chihuahua-type dogs herself. Loved seeing the photos of them on the wall. She listened to our requests and took care studying the photo I showed of our ideal outcome. Hypoallergenic shampoo came as no surprise or issue. One hour and a half later we regained a puppy! We thoroughly recommend this dog spa. We'll all be happy to return when in town. A great relief because as our girl ages she becomes less keen on the whole beautifying procedure! I feel that Kinu will always be kind, gentle and take good care of her.

They butchered my dogs ear and instead of repairing his hematoma with buttons and stitches like I was told it would be, once we had him sedated and I was to leave my dog in their care, they instead chose to suture 12 tubes into his ear damaging perfectly healthy ear tissue and stitching entirely through his cartilage 24 times. Zero informed care and quite frankly, I receive better care and service advising from my mechanic. I was sent home post-op with no pain killers or meds to help my dogs recovery process and within 5 days of his surgery and 1 evening using the no flap wrap they insisted I put him in even with these gross tubes and sutures in place, he got an infection immediately. I was told there was nothing I could buy from them to help his bleeding sutures heal a bit, clearly they are unaware Otizole exists. I was provided the wrong type of medication for the site of his infection (clavaseptin instead of cefaseptin), and ultimately needed to bring my dog to a vet who actually knows what they're doing for surgical procedures and post-op care. After VVH operated on my dog, I called numerous vets in Vancouver/Burnaby area to talk to them about their hematoma repair process and NONE of them supported the procedure of stitching entirely through my dog's ear nor was it advised to have ever sent me home with zero pain meds or anti-inflammatories, or use a no flap wrap (I was told to buy one and put it on my dog immediately after his surgery) My original review was hidden by VVH likely due to the photos I attached with it which is truly comical considering their management noted surgery procedure was validated. Show the photos and full review if that's the case and stop hiding the work you're so clearly proud of and refuse to reimburse me for despite costing me $1600 in a botched hematoma repair PLUS a second surgery which I paid for at a different vet all together, and additional costs for gauze and a no flap wrap which I was told numerous times to buy and keep on my dog for 30 days. I'm lucky my dog didn't die from their malpractice and overall lack of care in our time of need.

You can expect your doggie to have walks, play and cuddles, but on occasions like Halloween, you can expect the staff to go above and beyond and add another layer of fun to the day. My Wee Angus really loves coming here. I really appreciate the environment Christine (manager), Laura and Jenna have created for the doggies & the positive work environment they seem to have with each other. This is a great place for small dogs and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a daycare for your small doggie.

The initial invoice was over $1,400, but when I said I wanted to leave, they suddenly lowered it to $800 without the 24-hour stay. This felt very unsettling. After paying, my dog had the x-ray and blood test, but the results were not explained clearly. We were sent home with pills. Also, the doctor later called us and said our dog needed to do another test costing over $1,000. Unfortunately, after 5 days, my dog's symptoms returned. We then went to another animal hospital with better reviews. They explained everything much more clearly and requested the records from Atlas. They even redid the x-ray -- and the results were completely different from what Atlas had given us. I had a very disappointing experience at Atlas Animal Hospital. In my opinion, their focus seemed to be more on money than on genuinely caring for pets. I felt that my pet's needs were not prioritized, and instead I was pressured about costs.

For my dog they did well, for my cat it's been an issue and the staff is afraid of a cat hissing. My senior cat was taken for blood work, she came out with a bloody neck and three puncture wounds. No one told me until I brought her home and saw the blood going down her bruised neck. Once cleaned I saw there were three punctures. I called and asked and was told the bruising will go down, and nothing about the punctures and failed attempts to take blood for a test. I get my cat was stressed and they could have asked me to go in with her or simply notify me of what happened. In my experience, Atlas is better at emergencies and procedures like teeth cleaning then table side manners or maintenance of my cat. All vets play on pet owners feelings, ALL of them. I only wish for transparent communication and clear instructions. My cat is okay but it's a lot of stress to know what's happening.
