Was very disappointed in the service i received. Called for an estimate and someone came out. Told him what i wanted and he told me that the estimate would be emailed. I waited for a long time (more than 3 weeks) for the estimate to be emailed. I finally called and the estimate included only one of the projects i asked for and when I asked about the priority project i was told I had to get another estimate. The girl who answered did not try to fix the problem after I expressed I wanted the additional information. Not helpful and not professional at all. Im good. If this preliminary service is any indication on how they do work i will shop around. read more

I filled out the form on line for a quote and never heard anything. I called to have someone come out to quote a new garage floor. Someone came out and said I would have the quote on Monday...he was at my house on Thursday. Monday came and no quote. I called on Tuesday and thee girl answering the phone said the quote is not done and she would call me back to let me know when I could expect it. No call back. Wednesday I called again and the man answering the phone was extremely rude. While talking to me put me on hold 2 times...had to ask for my address 2 times and then finally said ad soon as the quote is done they would send it to me. Customer service sucks! read more

Getting a new concrete driveway wasn't high on my list of priorities. I mean, I would have much rather spent the money on a deck, bathroom remodel, or any number of other home improvement projects. But as it turns out, I could no longer ignore the obvious. I needed to replace what I believe was the original driveway to my bungalow. It was broken into various chunks in some places, and crumbling into gravel in other parts. After obtaining a few estimates, I went with Andreas. They were professional and courteous, even when I had to change the order twice. This was due to the fact that I also had to replace the sewer line which was running directly underneath the driveway. They had to rip up the driveway, then the sewer line guys had to do their business, then Andreas had to come back to pour the driveway. A total hassle. But they handled it well and my driveway looks fabulous! I won't hesitate to call them for any cement work in the future! read more

I needed to have a new front stoop installed. The estimator and I discussed what I wanted done. What I got was a substandard job. It was a small job and I felt like I was an afterthought. I did not feel valued as a customer. The job had to be redone. I was told the reason it took so long to start was they were waiting for the permit. Truth was they had the permit for two weeks! Once it was finally completed, they left large pieces of overflow concrete under the bushes. I would never recommend them for any size job. I'm now the proud owner of a $2,700 from stoop that is two different colors! Beware! read more

We just had our concrete sidewalk and driveway replaced by Byron Andreas and his crew of very professional concrete workers. They did an excellent job putting in a brand new concrete sidewalk and driveway. Everything was done beautifully. Even the Village inspector was impressed with the framing and rebar job. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to take out their old cracked and pitted driveway and replace it with a beautiful new one! read more

Not sure why the small amount of reviews and not so good but let me tell you about this Contractor. My experience is not related to anything I purchased from them. I was a neighbor to this gentleman in Cicero. When it would snow heavily he would have his crew clean up the block! That was a nice thing to do for his community. For that alone, I would give him any concrete work I have. read more

Extremely unprofessional!! They completely messed up our stamped concrete floor and a year later we are still dealing with their mistakes. They do not return phone calls or fix their mistakes. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. read more

I contacted Robert R. Andreas & Sons, Inc. twice on their website email. First time was early September, second time was about 10 days later. Today, September 22, having not heard back from them, I called. They are in Cicero, I am in Prospect Heights. They said they probably did not go that far, they would look it up. He said they don't go that far. That's fine, they can stay as close to home as they want, but if I took the time to contact them twice, they should have the common courtesy and business sense to respond to me that they don't go that far. I believe I was mislead and probably outright lied to in dealing with Andreas & Sons. You are warned. July 23, 2018 Signed contract and 50% deposit for removal of existing driveway and installation of new asphalt driveway. At this time I was told asphalt work started on August 1 and the work itself would take 2-3 days. July 26, 2018 I was informed that a change order for $600 was needed because of village asphalt thickness requirements. Andreas & Sons represented themselves as having experience in the village and are on the village approved contractors list. Andreas & Sons should have been cognizant of the requirements and submitted a proposal that reflected these requirements. August 28, 2018 I was informed that Andreas & Sons were working on one job and there was one more ahead of me. October 5, 2018 Work started on driveway which consisted of removal of existing driveway, leaving muddy mess. October 12, 2018 The driveway remained a muddy mess until October 12 when stone was placed and compacted. October 23 Driveway completed. There were numerous non-rain days that the work could have been completed much sooner. read more

This is the fourth time I'm posting this review as for inexplicable reasons it has been removed. Hard to trust yelp if they are in the business of removing negative reviews on companies I see they have two profiles on yelp so I will cut and paste from their other profile and since I hate seeing them drive around in their red trucks I felt it necessary to repost.. After many months and failed attempts to resolve the problems with our driveway (installed by Robert R. Andreas in September 2008) which has only continued to erode more and more over time and contacting the BBB, we decided our only option, our last resort was to file a small claims lawsuit against them in Cook County (Maybrook Court). They were served by sheriff as well as another time by certified mail. They failed to appear in court twice even though Byron was coincidently at the same courthouse both dates that morning suing someone else. We received a default judgment against them and once they received that judgment in the mail they hired an attorney. Inexplicably, their attorney was successful in having the judge overlook the fact that they never showed up to court - the same attorney who got lost coming to court and had us reschedule. We had three judges. This particular judge sent it to mandatory arbitration. Their attorney filed a motion to have it thrown out of Cook County Court due to the fact that the contract had very teeny-tiny writing at the bottom of the contract stating that if we had a problem we had to settle our dispute at AAA Arbitration- deciding now if that's the way to go or appeal or what. Our attorney contends the contract was not legal in that we did not have the opportunity to opt out of the Arbitration Clause pursuant to some Illinois law and that the clause was never explained to us. The third judge didn't see it that way. All this information is public knowledge BTW at the Cook County Circuit Court Website. McDonald vs. Andreas. What has this lesson taught us? One) the court system is a big friggin' joke for - Somehow, we did all the right things and ultimately the court said that the company can do subpar/substandard work and we, the consumer have no recourse. None of the three judges even looked at any of our photos of the crumbling driveway, the bags and buckets of concrete that we routinely sweep up- none of them asked us when it began to erode- 4 months later- they did not care about the facts. It was get em in' get em out- on to the next case. If we failed to pay our $6850 bill, you better believe they would have sued us and won. Two) read your contract with a magnifying glass, then re-read and find an attorney to decipher it for you and make sure it's a LEGAL contract. Then cross out the part about AAA Arbitration. Three) The fact that a company says they are licensed and bonded means nothing- the court system proved that to us. I'm sure all their Jobs don't turn out like ours did but if it be subpar work remember you have no recourse. Buyer Beware. This was an expensive lesson to learn. Had a driveway poured in May of 2010 and all I have is cracks everywhere. They do not standup to their work. Talked with Byron and Frank a few times and they just say that's normal. Lots of complaints to the village of Westchester. In the past they have done a lot of quality work. The company has changed with poor work and quality. read more

Stay away! I saw the terrible job they did on my buddy's driveway. They refuse to admit their responsibility (even after the village inspector and the concrete supplier agreed that the materials were not the source of the problem) and fix their mistake. read more

Terrible company. Had a sidewalk from the crosswalk to my front stairs put in by them in oct. of 2007. When they were pouring the concrete, the temperature dropped near freezing and it started to snow. I commented to the workers about my concern but they assured me it would be fine, in fact they told me the cold weather is a benefit for the drying of the cement. Well after less than a year the sidewalk started to crumble especially around the corners. I called them but they said "there was no warranty for cracks and such." After another year it's getting worse. Again I called them with no satisfaction. I'm writing this review now because after only 10 years and many phone calls it has to be broken up and replaced. On my last phone call I actually had an employee tell me "maybe people had salt on their shoes and walked on it." What! Do not use this company just because their an established company. Do your homework and read reviews. There are many fine concrete companies out there. read more
