Andrea (my sister, not the supposed founder of Andrea's Family Restaurant) and I were feeling adventurous whilst visiting Cudahy. It's a cute and charming little restaurant so you feel like you're doing something for the community by going. The food is a decent price for the amount you get unless you get the mozzarella sticks which are $8 for 6 sticks. They do not have any discounts for people named Andrea, unfortunately. I got a cheeseburger with fruit and it was just okay. However, the strawberry tasted acutely like a pickle, which was a little alarming. The service was good though. The person running the cash register did not point and laugh at me when I attempted to calculate my total including my $5 tip in my head, which I would not have blamed her for if she did. Then, we went to Dunkin for the second time today. Tbh, we were debating between this and Culver's, and Culver's might have been more economically efficient. So if you're in that position too, that's what I'll say. read more

Service was great. Chili was a lunch special... I love chili. This arrived at table and was loaded with cheese and onion as I had ordered. Unfortunately, it was cool to the touch and had to be sent back to reheat. Judging by its flavor, the main tomatoe ingredient was catsup. I just couldn't eat it. This was an epic fail. First, if we could give 1/2 stars, this is a 3 1/2 star review. My friend and I met for breakfast here, as it gas become his go-to, so I wanted to try the place. I would describe it as a typical family restaurant, and it looked pretty clean. I don't know if they are open for dinner, since we only had a breakfast menu. The specials on the board also looked breakfast-focused. We both ordered the homemade corned beef hash with eggs over medium, hash browns, and wheat toast. Everything was cooked perfectly and plated well, but I would have liked some/more seasoning on the hash browns, and my preference is for the corned beef hash to have some chunkier pieces, so it doesn't look canned. Our server was busy, but she spent quite a bit of time chatting and catching up with customers at the table next to us, while our food sat, waiting to be picked up from the kitchen. We know this because she made a beeline for the kitchen and brought our food. My friend told me they turn the food out quickly, so he pointed out that our order was waiting to be picked up while she was talking to the table next to us. The bottom line is I liked the food enough to go back and try something else. Corned beef hash is one of my go-to's to compare restaurants, as long as it is made in house. It wasn't among the best I've had, but it was good enough to earn another visit. read more

I was headed down to South Milwaukee for Black Friday shopping and left early enough to stop somewhere for breakfast. The two breakfast place bookmarks I had in that area didn't look appealing that morning, so I checked Yelp hoping to find a third option. I saw pictures of breakfast burritos from Andreas, so that also meant I could continue my quest to find the best breakfast burrito around. I ordered the sausage, bacon, and cheese burrito with hash browns and a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were sizeable compared to what size you'd think a short stack would be based on the name. I thought they were perfectly fluffy while still being substantial. They had only the slightest hint of sweetness without syrup, which could be good or bad depending on how sweet you prefer pancakes to be. Overall, I enjoyed them, but wouldn't have complained if they were a little sweeter. The hash browns were underwhelming. They were warm, not hot, and seemed like they had only been on the grill long enough to get the lightest touch of color beyond white on top with no color on the bottom or throughout. I suggest either getting the fruit option for the side or ask that they cook the hash browns on both the top and bottom. The burrito was perplexing. Only the top side was grilled, which seems sort of lazy. If you're going to grill it at all, why not grill both sides? The inside looked very omelette like and the shape was thin and flat instead of more cylindrical like you'd expect a burrito to be. My friend and I went here recently because we love a good diner; this was everything but. The steak was over cooked, the corned beef had was disgusting mush that was not palatable and simply over all the food was bland and unseasoned. When we asked why the server responded that we should season our own food. The owner clearly doesn't seem to care or take any accountability which is sad. I would recommend a Denny's over this place any day, it's a wonder how they are still in business. read more

I called in an order for my grandmother for her dinner to be picked up the guy was a complete jerk on the phone! Like it was a bother to do it to go order. When I brought it to her and she opened it up for almost $16 she ordered a veal cutlet and all that was in the box was a thin piece of veal cutlet some mashed potatoes no vegetable and you did get a cup of soup with it but senior citizens have to pay almost $16 for something like that? I've been going there for years and she's ordered it before and it was like $9 just last year. I know things went up but that's ridiculous. Plus if you eat in I think you get a vegetable with it anyway time to find a different restaurant maybe kind of hate pancake House they seem to treat you better. Today was the third time we went to this restaurant for breakfast. This first time our waitress was decent and the food was good. Second time the customer services was alright, the gyro meat tasted old and they tried overcharging us $20. Today customer services was awful, the waitress was inattentive and they tried to over charge us $20 again. The little man in the front when you first walk in was rude. The waitress left our appetizer plates and then brought us the main course (table was overcrowded with plates) and the bill was not adding up. When we told the little man in the front he told us to step aside that he'll have the waitress fix it even after he added the bill up in front of us. I feel bad for the seniors especially the regulars that go to this restaurant; I feel like overcharging is something they do on a regular bases. Beware. Never will go there again. read more

Not sure why this place isn't rated more highly. I had breakfast there this morning with my grandparents and it was delicious. More importantly, they liked it. If you can please my grandma, you're gold. Coffee was regularly filled, server got our order right despite the many special requests from gma and gpa. The food was good. I'm a big fan of corn beef hash so I went with that which included two eggs (I chose over easy) with hash browns or fruit (who gets fruit? Not me) and mini pancakes or toast (pancakes tempting but do I love toast). Seating is your typical diner restaurant, booths on the edges and square tables with chairs in the middle. I noted they have some video poker and slot machines in their entrance so while they weren't crazy busy while we there, there is something to pass the time should you have to wait for a table. I go to dinner here with my father because its simple for him. The host (owner?) does the bare minimum to seat you, he grabs menus walks to a table and sets the menus on the table as he walks away. Doesn't even turn toward his guests. The food has been less than subpar on both occasions. Terrible, maybe safe with breakfast, I'm not sure. Our waitress looked forced to stop by and check on us once. She couldnt tell me what was in the soup of the day and instead of finding out, asked if I wanted her to find out. They're happy to take your money, but could care less about anything else. Solid neighborhood Greek-American diner, good choice for breakfast or standard diner fare. I like their Greek dishes, but the best thing about the place is the way they know their regulars. Yes I like to be called "honey," and I do still appreciate the bottomless cup of high octane coffee. This place does not deserve the one or two star reviews, if you're coming to a diner for a high fiber, organic locally sourced vegetables, unique fusion recipe culinary experience, there's something wrong with you. I also don't quite get the five star reviews, there are so many good family diners in Milwaukee, it's one of the things I love about Milwaukee, but if the five star reviews are coming from (or on behalf of) regulars (or regulars' grandchildren), then I totally get it. I don't like to leave negative reviews - but in this case I feel obligated. What a hot mess. I visited Andreas for breakfast on Sunday with my family, and I don't understand how you can botch breakfast so badly. Everything we ordered was almost inedible save for the Egg (over easy) that my son ordered. I ordered an omelet, simple bacon and cheese. The eggs tasted like some sort of food service grade egg liquid that came from a bucket, they were spongy, wet, and smelled of wet dog. Covering my omelet was a greasy gelatinous orange substance that resembled cheese, but fell way short of being able to earn the title of even "fake" cheese. I guess I would call it more of a cheese flavored sauce... that had to go. So I scraped it off and was hit in the face with that wet-dog, burnt hair, smell that egg protein gives off when it's burnt. This smell matched the brown burn marks on both sides of my soggy puke pouch. It made me ill, I had to remove it from the table. Considering my 4 year old asked Daddy what that terrible smell was, I think it would have been reasonable for the cook, or the server to notice (and subsequently refuse to serve) this horrible abortion of an omelet. The hash browns were also left on the grill too long, and it looked like the cook tried to revive them from their obvious burnt state by pouring more butter / oil on them and scraping them around the flat-top before they graced the presence of my plate. The result was burnt, bits of grill scrapings mixed with what was once a shredded potato, saturated in oil to the point of dehydration/reconstitution. I politely mentioned to our server that my omelete wasn't quite satisfying. I didn't get as graphic as I did in this review, I kept it light, just to feel out her customer service skills. She apologized, and that's where it ended. Despite removing the entire uneaten omelet from our table, I was still expected to pay full clip for it. I'm not the type to argue, there's more important things in life. I approached the owner on the way out (while paying the bill) and told him quietly and privately the issued that I had with the omelet, thinking that he would be happy that someone brought it to his attention. He seems rather unphased, and was more interested in completing the "negotiation" phase that frequently follows a customer complaint. He offered to take the soda's off my bill, (both of them). Free soda doesn't change the fact that I had a bad experience, which is why I'm here to share with my fellow Yelpers. If I were a restauranteur, about the worst thing that I could think of would be one of my punters leaving hungry. read more

There was absolutely nothing that stood put here and this is a place for locals who don't want to go far or try something unusual. The wait time for food was long and the food generic nothing special and I couldn't whip up from a supermarket. This is about as average as an eatery one will find. read more

A co worker suggested I try Andreas for breakfast so I did. The place was empty at first opening so seating was any place I wanted. The place looks like your typical diner. Service was kind of slow because one woman was working the whole place and about four tables in use. The menu has all the standard diner items. I ordered the ham, bacon and sausage skillet with greek toast. My food came fast and hot but no toast, she said she would be back with the toast. I'm waiting while watching her bring other tables there food, I can't start with out the toast because I'm going to make a mini sandwich out of the skillet. Minutes go by and she finally brings the toast, WTF. I finally start my breakfast and the eggs were perfect. The skillet had just enough ham,sausage and bacon so every bite had meat in it. The potatoes in the skillet were very good, not hash browns but silky smooth. I noticed after the second bite that the skillet was really delicious and the best skillet I have had. How could this skillet be so tasty, what is the secret here. Over all my service was lacking but the food was outstanding. It would have been four stars if the service matched the food. I will be back for that skillet when I have an itch for a skillet. I will post pictures of Andreas. I can't speak for lunch or dinner but the breakfast really good. read more

Grandma loves it. Geriatric hangout with contemporary music playing so I feel relevant lol. Honestly, I've never had bad food here and that's why I want to give it 5 stars! You will like it if you don't mind the classic diner food - nothing fancy. Grandma loves it because they serve stuff you can't find at contemporary restaurants. I stop in here at least once a month because it's my Grandfather's favorite place for us to go grab a bite. I'm 30 and I always feel like the youngest person in the restaurant by far, but the food is always very good. They have a large menu and I always try to get something new when I order and the food is always good. The service has always been great and the restaurant interior, while a bit dated, is always clean. He's back! John, my friend the certified Italian Chef returned from hiding out in Florida recently and I knew we had to celebrate the occasion. When I told him I was buying and to name a place we haven't been to in a while, he said "Andreas!" I repeated that I was buying and he swiftly reminded me that it had been months since we were last here. So Andreas it was! John claims Andreas has the best giant House Salad ($7.25) in Wisconsin and this seasoned veteran knows his foods. He almost leaped up to take the huge platter from our server Kerry's hands, so well filled and presented, she needed both hands to bring it. My Liver and Onions ($5.95) dinner on the Senior Menu was like his salad, as good as it gets. A complete meal from soup or salad to entree, potato or pasta, vegetable and dessert.
