    Philly Cheese Steak
    Tarik B.

Shoutout to BOSS! Got the Philly steak sub with some fries. And it's very important to note he didn't mess it up... plus he asked do I wanna make it spicy? Yes.. yes I do. I think it is very easy to mess up a Philly steak by overcooking the beef because it's a shaved ribeye gyro type of meat. The French fries had good crunch and appreciate that they were seasoned... if I'm being picky (personal preference here) I like my subs more Dearborn Michigan style where it gets out on a sandwich press and the outside gets crispy but that said the bun held up well didn't fall apart I got zero complaints. Excellent sub, great service, clean restaurant and most importantly all halal!

This is the best hummus chicken schwarma I have ever eaten in my life. Omg omg. There's a big menu. Please choose the middle eastern. Thought I was getting a sandwich but this warm and comforting bowl of explosive flavor arrived. There was the experience of smooth creamy garbanzo beans, accompanied by bright lemon, pungent garlic, a bit of hotness from chilis perhaps? The chicken was chopped and bundled on top. Olive oil unctuous dressed the surface. Now - the pita bread - wait for it - 2 pieces - sliced in half- warm, fresh, fluffy and you just tear it open and dig into all that amazing hummus and chicken. There is nothing like this in Milwaukee you simply must try this. GOAT. Clean, spare dining area. Love the rosemary plants on the tables and middle eastern music playing softly. Do not try to eat and drive!!!!!!! Thank you Grill Shack for delighting me today!!!!!

I was looking for something quicker during lunch on a work day and saw this place on Yelp. The Grill Shack is a smaller place in a strip mall. I believe it replaced Factory Ice Cream. I actually walked past Grill Shack at first. The menu is a unique combination of middle eastern and American and includes fries and pizza. The combos are $2 more for fries and a 12oz soda can. The sandwiches are around $8-$10. I can only speak for the one item I had, the Cajun chicken, but it was better than maybe grilled chickens for $16 I've had at a restaurant. The decor and set up is somewhat odd. There's a thin row of tables that led to the back. This is great for work lunch. Not great for groups or a date or impressing the in laws.

This has been a book mark for a while and since it has so little reviews or pictures I thought that a Steve stop by was in order so I went over for lunch. The place is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The menu is interesting because it has pizzas, sandwiches and Middle Eastern food so I went with the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. My sandwich came fast because I was the only person in the place. My first thought was that it didn't look right with the reddish hue to it for a Philly cheesesteak. My second thought after my first bite was that the bread was all wrong because it had a very chewy crust and soft inside that required extra bite effort which squeezed most of the meat right out of the sandwich, the melted cheese on the bottom only helped everything sliding out. The sandwich had a weird flavor like giardinera and it was very oily like maybe it's cooked in giardinera oil and it had melted American cheese in it, give us a cheese choice because it didn't work very well in the sandwich. This was the weirdest Philly cheesesteak sandwich that I have had and it didn't satisfy my crave for a Philly cheesesteak at all and I would never order it again and get something different.

Awesome food! Placed an order to go! Hummus is the best around, simply great! polish sausage was excellent along with a small Greek salad! Customer service by the owner was superb-down to earth and nicest person in the industry!

The crispy chicken Shawarma and falafel were so good sided with a Coke Zero. Wish there was one closer to me and wasn't a 35 min drive.

I have newly moved to the Milwaukee area from Metro Detroit (home to the largest Arab population outside of the Middle East) and therefore not only did I grow up with great food our restaurant options have always been elite. If I seem nitpicky I'm sorry but let's get to it! I got the mixed grill plate, Turkish salad, and a lentil soup. Highlights: the shish tawook was perfect, juicy, not over cooked, the kafta loaded with flavors, the hummus was solid, I loved the bed of rice it was on, and the soup delicious... "so T, what happened to the half star?" This is where I might be overly critical... the chopped veggie salad was in dire need of salt, or consider dressing it with the jalapeño mix that was on the hummus. The Turkish salad put me in quite a conundrum... was it delicious? Oh hell ya, was it spicy? Yes (inject it my veins), so what's the issue? My issue here was just that it wasn't a salad. It was an excellent salsa, but I didn't have chips to eat it with and this isn't a "salad" you can eat by itself. If they had fried the Arabic bread and seasoned it like the fattoush chips and gave me a bag of it with the Turkish salad that might be the greatest combo known to Milwaukee. Finally, the only true criticism of this place, the beef kabobs... flavor was amazing, it was tender too but it was severely overcooked. I don't blame the restaurant because as an Lebanese person I grew up with way too many over cooked bbqs and aunts and uncles thinking red meat was blood despite eating kibbee nayee (beef tartar-Lebanese style) but if that had two minutes less on the grill it might have the holy grail of mixed grill plates. All of this to say I was very impressed, Milwaukee has some good spots and I wasn't sure what to expect when I moved here but this place does it for me, will probably make it a rotational spot

We did a pick up tonight. Had we known it was so pretty, we probably would have made plans for a sit down dinner. Food is good and I'll get to it in a minute, but what truly stood out here was the service. There were two ladies serving/talking order, and both were over the top friendly, with beautiful smiles and super kind. Made whole experience stellar. Falafel One of the best I've had lately. It obviously just came out of the fryer and was so crispy on the outside and steaming delicious inside. Rice Rice is ok. Not the best. Beef Kafta Loved it! Meat was tasty and tender and yummy Baba ghannoug Pretty good - not the best I've had, but pretty up there Hummus I'm personally not a fan of hummus period. But hubby said it was good. Overall, I can't say it's going to be my favorite place ever, but it's really good and I'd go back when I'm in the area for sure! And dine in to enjoy the decor and the awesome service. It is a small family owned business, and mother cooks all the food. It's only been a month since they moved here from Layton, so they don't have a sign yet, but just go in to the Rayan super market, and navigate yourself to the back of the building. They do have a table off to the side inside the market if you're in a pinch and need to eat there, but I'd recommend taking the food to go. The family is friendly, and if you aren't too familiar with Mediterranean food, they will help you navigate their menu items. They have 2 types of rice. One is a smoked rice (first time I tried it, and it was good!), and the other one is cinnamon. I didn't care for the latter, but the smoked rice was delicious. I was only going to try a bite or two, but I ended up kicking myself off of keto and ate a whole bowl. Chicken special - with rice and salad Salad was a small portion of very fresh lettuce, tomato and cucumber in light oil dressing. Chicken was a bit dry for my taste. They did have the chicken in a warmer plate (like the buffet style) and it must have been sitting there a while. The flavors were good, but the dryness was disappointing. The menu says "half chicken", but we got 2 pieces of thigh+drum. In a way that's good, cuz any breast meat would have been so much more dry. Lamb special - with rice and salad We ordered the cinnamon rice for this dish and the smoked one for the chicken dish. Like I said, the smoked rice was better for my palate. The lamb was delicious. It was falling off the bones, but it wasn't dry. We got 3 large chunks of lamb with bone and one little piece boneless. In both plates, our server piled the rice so high! I hope they don't go out of business giving so much rice! But I'm not complaining. Overall, the meal was delicious and I would definitely go again. I'd love to try some of their appetizers and other meat items.
