Went back for Friday fish fry. The baked cod was cold. We mentioned it (politely) it but the staff was not very receptive. I had noticed that the service was not particularly attentive before and this visit confirmed it. The line on a Friday is out the door; and the food is good. "sit wherever you want " Received menus in a timely fashion. 15 minutes later, she shows up to take order. That was it. She didn't deliver the food (the cook did), she didn't ask if we needed anything. I had to find napkins only to observe her glued to her phone. Got up again to request something, again, hiding and chatting with another employee. Got my own "leftover box" Waited for the check which didn't come until waved down & requested. Its exactly what you want from a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Good daily specials, solid burgers, good priced drinks and a nice beer menu. Service is always personable and the food cranks out of the kitchen. We love the place but understand that you are going into a local restaurant that has a set menu that doesn't really change and everyone is good with that. Long wait for drinks that were incredibly watered down and missing garnishes as ordered. Fish was equivalent to frozen fish sticks. Pancakes overdone and inedible. Stopped in for dinner and drinks for a birthday party. Sat outside because it was a bit busy inside and service was fairly slow - we definitely felt forgotten about after a while. The food was good - highly recommend the Friday fish fry! On their menu they had a dessert option and we asked if they had dessert for a birthday celebration, but they didn't have it available. I used to not be able to rave about this place enough. We've come here for years for the Cod fish fry. I'm wondering if it's not under new ownership or maybe a new cook because tonight we ordered again. I ordered a 3-piece, and got two pieces. The french fries were easily 1/2 of what they used to give, the marble rye was dry (where it used to be very fresh), and one piece of my fish was just OK while the other wasn't good at all (and I didn't even eat it). read more

Dont ever accidentally spill a full drink if Andrea R is bartending. She unhappily wiped it up, and said "I suppose you want another". There were three of us. My drink was rail vodka and seltzer. I had two aside from the spilled one. The other drinks were two Bloody Marys, a beer and a Carbliss. The bill was $50.50. Quite pricey. If the service is good I cant complain. However, I was charged $3.00 for a spilled drink that was full. I questioned it, and she said she would deduct that. She then decided that she didnt want to run my card again. She slapped a free drink chip in front of me instead. Her prickly attitude insured me I would never return. Which is sad as we have been going there for years as a family outing when in the area. I apologized sincerely that she had to wipe it up, and told her that I could see that she was mad and upset. Its sad that one bad apple can affect an otherwise good business. My family's favorite spot for Friday fish fry. In fact, this place is the baseline we compare other places to for fish fry. My husband and boys love the bluegill and I love the fish sandwich. They are slammed on Friday evenings and be prepared to wait. Service is extremely fast and efficient. Bartenders make great drinks. I love their haystack onions and haven't found other places that do it equally well. My hubby loves their potato pancakes. Last time I was there, the wait staff messed up my fries and within 30 seconds, it was corrected. It's impressive given how busy they are. Even though we will try other restaurants for fish fry, we know we will keep coming back to Andrea's. read more

Food: Mostly winners here; burgers are very good here ( seems simple but so many can't do it right) with nice quality fries and buns at a price point you'd be challenged to beat. Sandwiches are not to be overlooked here as well with the reuben, club, french dip, and chicken portobello all above average. Service: Mostly attentive, rush hours can get hectic though. Stopped in on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. I thought that was a good sign, but it was not. The place is woefully understaffed. I sat for 15 minutes just waiting to be approached. I was actually looking for other restaurants in the area when I was approached. Ordered a burger, decent but nothing worth waiting 35 minutes for. The fish pieces were so very small not like it use to be and where were the French Fries they cut the portion of that too.. This use to be our favor it place for a Fish Fry. Another lunch spot in the Brookfield area. This place is actually a great lunch spot in my area and I've gone here often enough that it's high time I write a review. I was shocked to see only 3 stars. 4 minimum is where I personally rank them. They always have some kind of special and the service is solid. To boot the food is proper. they make a mean burger and have a solid fish fry. If I lived near here I'm sure I'd stop in for a brew or cocktail as they have a bunch of booze too. Now on to the one item that if it ever comes off the menu I will think twice an bout frequenting. It's so good I've never seen anything like it on anyone's menu anywhere. The PRIME RIB WRAP! Hands down this thing is a 5. Haystack onions, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a bunch of juicy tender prime rib! OMG! This is heaven and is so good. I order it 95% of the time I come here. it's just that damn good. Overall it's not the atmosphere that keeps me coming back. it's the easy in and out during lunch and the solid food selections. If your ever in the area give it a try. You won't be dissapointed. read more

I have driven past this place for years going to the majestic theater an always wanted to check them out. The place looks like a property that has buildings hodgepodged together. There is an outdoor door Seating that is elevated and enclosed to the building. When I walked in I noticed the hodgepodged rooms and tables in the dimly lighted place. When I walked in the U shape bar on the right, high bar tables on the left and on the far left cheap cafeteria tables and chairs. I felt like it started with coach seating, business class and first class at the bar thus the hodgepodge feel. I chose the business class high tables to sit at. The place is very divey with poker machines, music box, flat screens etc. The service was really good with a busy x-mass eve lunch crowd filled with regulars. The menu is burgers, sandwiches, wraps, appetizers etc so I ordered the Ruben and I was asked for an up charge they could substitute frys etc instead of chips that come with the sandwich. When you go to a sit down restaurant and they serve chips with the meal it is really low rent. My opinion is that they are cheap and lazy because potatoes and vegetables are inexpensive and they could have put out a better product. Maybe it's a gimmick to offer chips so they can get the extra $1.50 up charge because who wants chips with a Ruben either way I was turned off buy it. I started with some tap IPA and I was completely satisfied because THE TAP BEER IS COLD and stayed cold right to the end of the sandwich. The Ruben came pretty fast and I noticed it looked just like an Arby's Ruben, see my pictures. The marble rye was fresh/soft and lightly toasted. The cheese was nicely melted. The corned beef was warm moist/juicy with the right amount sauerkraut and dressing but seemed small for $10 with chips with comparable places. I can't say it wowed me and the $5 Arby's Ruben would have satisfied me just the same. The nasty mustard bottle with very old mustard and ketchup caked on it would have come to Stevie wonders attention so I can only imagine how the kitchen looks, see my pictures. My final thought is that price vs quality vs value are there is better places to go to and I would go to them. read more

We just went in and sat more towards to bar. The service was sub par at best. Our waitress/bar tender totally messed up two orders big time. Both order 1/2# chees burgers. No way these were 1/2# burgers, more like 1/4# if you were lucky. Ordered fries and an order of haystack onion rings and when we got our food, one order had no fries, the same amount of haystack's that one of the other people got with their sandwich vs a full order of them. Did not get the fries with the order, no lettuce or tomato with the burger. Ended up getting the items. Was charge for a full order of haystacks vs the little that was on the plate with the burger. The one burger was not cooked the way it was ordered. I really don't like to complain, but when you spend over $100 for 4 people for just basic burgers, you expect to get what you ordered. Totally disappointed with the overall experience. Unfortunately, we will not be back. read more

I stopped in for a late night cocktail or two with friends before tucking into my hotel on Bluemound Road. The multitude of corporate chain restaurants and bars lining Bluemound Road were becoming sickeningly homogeneous. It is absolutely disgusting how Brookfield accelerates strip mall development, which has become even worse with the new mall anchoring the west end. The Red Rooster is a true Wisconsin bar with no pretensions or robotic aspirations. It serves its role perfectly as an oasis amongst the homogeny of white bread Brookfield. I applaud its existence and will frequent The Red Rooster when I am staying overnight in Brookfield. read more

We went on April 29,2022. We ordered off the menu and the menu prices chicken strips and fries 9.95 for with order of cheese curds 8.95, they were not breaded cheese curds, they were square cubes. We get the ticket, everything was a dollar higher, when we questioned the price we were told there with signs through out the bar saying something about price change. It's only a dollar yep 3.00 Why did the menu not have a note taped to front saying the prices were changed, why did not the waitress tell us when we ordered price was changed? The woman said we don t know where prices will land so we don t want to print new prices, so we could go Tomorrow and maybe the prices will be 12.00, and next Friday 13.00 I Understand price change in this time, my concern is transparency. You use the menu and charge higher, with out a person's knowledge is wrong read more

Our last experience was awful. The owner is rude! We had occasionally enjoyed a beverage and food here. A while ago, my husband played the gambling machines and won $120, but they didn't have enough to pay him and told him to come back. There was no expiration date and no explanation as to how quickly it needed to be cashed in. We just went there for a fish fry and took the ticket which had the bartender's name, my husband's name, the amount, and a note that says "did not pay." The owner would not honor it. Not only that, but when we spoke to her for further explanation, she started raising her voice, told us we were being unreasonable, and told us to leave and never come back. I absolutely love this bar. I can't speak enough about this place. I call it my bar because it feels like family here. I am a regular of Red Rooster for many reasons. 1) great, very hard working people who work here. Even when it gets busy (very busy) they bust their butts to make sure everyone is taken care of and has a good time. 2) the food is always consistently great! Maybe on 1 occasion the Italian beef was too salty, but that could very well be me because I am not a salt person. However, their wings on Wed are always great, the 1/4lb burger special on Monday is so tasty and cheap, the tacos on Tues are casual but the chicken is delicious! The Friday fish fry is outstanding! This last week the wait was over an hr long because everyone knows the Rooster fish fry is good old-fashioned WI fish fry. 3) The bar always makes great drinks! Ian and Kristi are the best back there! They can make whatever you want...sometimes when it gets really busy they would rather you get something simple (for obvious reasons) but they will do their absolute best to accommodate you even when it's very busy. 4) The owner is always working hard to make sure everything is OK and everyone is doing well! Come in on Wed nights for bingo! Ester Flonase is the bingo caller and she is hilarious! Seriously cannot speak enough about this place! I am sad to say that my experience today at Andrea's Red Rooster was not a very good one. I had not been there in many years...back before the days before Andrea owned it. My favorite meal was the famous cheese burger. So, I was looking forward to having it again today. It was definitely not the same, and most definitely was not any good. It was overdone and dry...not juicy. The lettuce was limp. The haystack onions were greasy. I will not be back. read more

This place was never a five star, but the food was generally good, the popcorn was a nice touch, and the service was spotty, but generally acceptable. The staff is always friendly, that was until last Friday night, when my wife and I went for the fish fry. Over the course of dinner I ordered two drinks, one at the start and one almost at the end, when I also asked for some more shrimp cocktail sauce. It took quite a while to get the extra sauce, and my second drink never came (they were very busy so I understand that). I asked for the bill and a to-go box and when I got the bill it had two drinks on it. I pointed out to the waitress that I only received one and I wanted her to take the second one off. After a while she came back and she was sure she had brought it, and I would have to take it up with the bartender if I wanted it taken off, so I told the waitress to send her over. The bartender, who immediately announced she was also the manager, proceeded to tell me that she had poured two doubles and that they were not on the bar waitress station, and the server told her she had served them, so therefore I must have received and drank them. I asserted I had not, and that I was not going to pay for something I had not received. The manager's response was AMAZING: "I will take if off, but I will ask that you not come back". When she returned with my credit card and the slip I asked her if she really wanted to run off a regular customer (2 or more times a month) over an $11.00 drink. She said "yes", and reiterated that I should not return. Don't worry, there is no danger I will ever come back. In examining the bill I also discovered they charged me 25-cents for the extra cup of cocktail sauce...really? Tells me a lot about Andrea's Red Rooster! read more
