We went here on a recent Sunday. We ordered the Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy which came with two eggs, stuffed ham and egg Crepes covered with hollandaise sauce, and a made to order Omelette. All came with breakfast potatoes which we found to be quite tasty. The Chorizo gravy was very good, a nice blend of spices with a little kick on the end. Our server was very attentive, professional, pleasant. The restaurant is decorated nicely with plenty of tables. Wish they had some high top tables for those of us with bad knees. First time visit, and the customer service was outstanding. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted, checked on throughout the entire time as we were eating, and before leaving, asked how everything was. Our waitress, she was very personable and did not sound like a robot. The food was delicious and they give nice big portions. Pricing is very reasonable as well. This restaurants sits on the corner end of a building so it's very small but yet cozy on the inside. Overall great experience if I'm ever back in Milwaukee will visit here again. read more

This is from a door dasher perspective and needs to be brought to management attention, I went in your establishment early before pick up time for the order, and when I got there the order wasn't ready, but your employee marked that the order was ready on the tablet, I asked the server where the order was and she said it was barely getting started after your employee marked it as ready for pick up. I had to wait 12 minutes for the order, after the facts, I was the one that got dinged and because you guys marked the order as being ready when it was not, it marked me down as being late, but you guys lied and falsely claimed order was ready when it's not. This is such a hidden gem! We drive by all the time and thought we'd stop in to see what it had to offer. We loved the breakfast! Coffee was great. I got the breakfast burrito and it came with a delicious sauce (maybe chipotle?). It was a huge portion and my leftovers were just as great. I drive uber and try diners all over the Midwest, this has been the worst. price is reasonable for a reason. Portions are small, I got the 2 egg breakfast for total of $14.50 and got 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, "one" diced $0.25 potatoe and two bread slices. Cost to make $3.00. Most diners similarly priced will at least load you up with potatoes, but not here... also no utensils napkins and 1 jam for 2 toast. read more

This was our third time for breakfast at the Crossing and it just keeps getting better. We had the Mexican Bowl, and the flavor combinations were done to perfection. It was so good!! Great combination of flavors and not a flaw I can think of. Lil splash of cholula and I was feastin'. For the portion (even with egg shortage price raise), the price was very reasonable, I left very satisfied. Great little diner hiding in a strip mall that serves food that tastes like a home cooked meal. I've gone there for lunch 20+ times and never been disappointed. Service is friendly and quick. Prices are fair. Their soups and chili are top notch and certainly cooked from scratch. Favorites of mine are their chicken tortilla, chicken noodle, and chicken dumpling. In addition to their main menu they have 4-5 specials each day. My "go to" entree is the crossing's skillet. I have been trying to get here for a while now but with the closing at 1 pm on the weekends I just never got there so I decided to go for breakfast instead which works much better. At 6:55 am I was the first one in and my choice of seating was anywhere I wanted. The place is in a strip mall in a cool corner of the building. The place has a fresh modern look with high ceilings and exposed ducting. The dark seating was a nice contrast with the wall colors. I posted the menu since there is no online menu. The menu has breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, salads etc and a daily special board as you walk in. I was the only one there for the first 10 minutes before people started coming so my service was great. I would have the crossing skillet with two eggs and toast, see my pictures. The skillet was bacon, ham, sausage and not breakfast sausage with mushrooms, green peppers, onions and hash browns topped with two perfect sunny eggs and cheese. The skillet was very good and fresh tasting to say the least. I liked how the soft and crispy hash browns contrasted with the fresh/crisp vegetables with the melty cheese holding it all together. This skillet was very tasty but the sour dough toast was very weak and if I was blind folded I would have said its white bread. Overall my breakfast was very solid even though I was trying to get in for lunch but that just has not worked out. I would defiantly recommend the breakfast here and I would rock it again. read more

While famished and looking for breakfast on the way back from Milwaukee to Madison, we pulled up the trusty Yelp app and found this delight. Don't let the fact that's it's in a strip mall deter you. My 30 year old sister and brother in law brought up the median age in this joint by a solid 10+ years.....so you know what that means. Great food at an extremely reasonable price! A skillet, omelette and country fried steak were the dishes ordered and inhaled. All were fantastic and hit the spot, with the check coming in at under $30 for 3 people (inc drinks). My family and I went into this restaurant this morning for the first time. We were in from out of town and it got great reviews. The place was easy to find, clean, nothing frilly, but nice atmosphere. Our server was not overly friendly but she was a very nice, polite young lady. Our food came as ordered and was served hot. It was very good. I was looking forward to returning. When given the bill, it was handwritten - something not seen in years -- which is fine. The writing was very neat and legible but it was confusing. Towards the bottom there seemed to be a charge for $1.99 for all bacon (it was written right next to the charge). The total was off by $3.50 and I couldn't figure out why. Computer generated receipts are nice because it is easy to see what you were charged for what food. When I approached the cashier, I told her I didn't understand the bill -- it looked like I was charged for "all bacon" $1.99. She wasn't sure either for a moment but then stated it was the tax on the bill. She put the amounts into the register to show me it added up and she put in $3.50 which did not appear on the ticket. She told me it added up correctly and asked if I wanted to add it in my phone. It was the $3.50 throwing me off. I stated more to myself than to her that the ticket was kind of a mess. She then curtly stated that she didn't think it was a mess at all and she thought it was done well. I stated to her that the writing was very nice but that wasn't what I was referring to. I told her that I am glad that she thought it was nicely done but as a customer it is confusing to understand what you are being charged. As I said that we turned and were walking out the door when she yelled out at me something about it not being confusing -- I didn't hear exactly what she said but it was directed at us. I never raised my voice, nor did I curse, I just simply stated what I believed and expected a professional response but got none. I waited a couple of hours and had my husband call to see if he could find out who owned the restaurant. They wouldn't give him a name but took his number and we received almost an immediate call back. Well, it was her -- I was thinking that was the case since she thought it OK to speak to a customer that way. I again stated my case. At that point, I once again explained the issue, told her she shouldn't argue with the customer and told her how she should have handled it. She then said "well you brought a drink in from Starbucks and you should know you aren't supposed to do that". At that point I stated that before entering with the drink, I looked to see if there was a "no outside food or drink" sign on her door or window and that I didn't see one. I asked her if there was a posted sign? She didn't really answer that question but said it wasn't allowed because of COVID and they could get in trouble from the health department and that she reprimanded her server after we left. I told her that if that is the case she should have a sign and that I had been into several restaurants in the morning with the same cup all week and not a single one said anything to me about it. I also stated that if she would have had sign that I would have honored it. I spent $40 on the meal so I didn't think me bringing in a fruity cold beverage that they don't sell would be that big of an issue. So was the $3.50 charge because I brought a drink in? Maybe or is it just something they do hoping people don't notice? I will never know. She told me she would just refund my money because she had too much going on to deal with this. I told her it wasn't about the money, it was about her behavior. We won't be back. I try to highlight local businesses during our trips as a freelance travel journalist but unfortunately, this place won't make the issue. read more
