First time visit, and the customer service was outstanding. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted, checked on throughout the entire time as we were eating, and before leaving, asked how everything was. Our waitress, she was very personable and did not sound like a robot. The food was delicious and they give nice big portions. Pricing is very reasonable as well. This restaurants sits on the corner end of a building so it's very small but yet cozy on the inside. Overall great experience if I'm ever back in Milwaukee will visit here again.

Very good burrito. Excellent salsa, guacamole. Bloody Mary had a nice spice. Not too hot. Just right.

I drive uber and try diners all over the Midwest, this has been the worst. price is reasonable for a reason. Portions are small, I got the 2 egg breakfast for total of $14.50 and got 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, "one" diced $0.25 potatoe and two bread slices. Cost to make $3.00. Most diners similarly priced will at least load you up with potatoes, but not here... also no utensils napkins and 1 jam for 2 toast.

Terrific food. Great relaxing place for breakfast. Good service and connection. I recommend.

Plopped down in the front and was greeted immediately. Service was impeccable and suprisingly quick, the corn beef skillet was just perfect. Great combination of flavors and not a flaw I can think of. Lil splash of cholula and I was feastin'. For the portion (even with egg shortage price raise), the price was very reasonable, I left very satisfied. Was looking forward to trying their biscuits and gravy though, hopefully some day it will make its way off the Saturday Specials onto the everyday menu. 10/10

The food is always delicious, the service is truly impeccable with well trained, friendly servers, and it's very clean and homey. I had an egg special, and my choices included two (perfectly cooked) poached eggs, three crisp on the outside sausages, a well balanced fruit bowl with fresh pineapple, melons, and grapes, and a short stack of their light and fluffy pancakes. My husband had over easy eggs, bacon, pancakes and fruit, plus we both had The Coop's rich, deeply flavorful coffee. Everything was excellent and at a most affordable price. Fast forward several hours: my daughter and her young sons were in the area on an errand, so we met up and of course the boys were hungry, so as The Coop was, once again, very close, we went there. My daughter was very happy to see decidedly different menu options for kids' meals than the usual. Two of them had grilled cheese sandwiches with fruit cups, the third had a scrambled egg, sausage, a pancake and fruit, my daughter had French toast, and I had two cheeseburger sliders with fries. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere, and they all want to go back. Two great experiences in one day!

I like to try something a little different, so I ordered the Avocado Toast with Eggs. I requested my eggs over easy, and they came out perfectly cooked. For my side, I chose the hash browns instead of the fruit. I asked for them to be extra crispy, and in hindsight, I should have asked for them to be extra-extra crispy. They were still very good. Service: We arrived right as they opened, so there were only a few occupied tables. We were seated immediately. Our server did a great job getting us settled in, gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made us feel rushed. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our meal. Atmosphere: The restaurant has a welcoming feel. Large windows fill the dining room with natural light, and the tables and booths provide plenty of space. The noise level was low enough to enjoy a quiet conversation. I also liked how they used wood posts and beams to break up the large dining room, making it feel more intimate. Nice touch. Overall, it was a solid breakfast experience. I'd love to see a few more inventive daily specials to complement the menu.

Well - there was *nothing* to worry about, other than where I was going to put all of the delicious food I was consuming. We both have always loved the salad and soup bar there (matter of fact, I'll often just order that for lunch or dinner), and as always, the soups were hot and tasty and the salad bar offerings were fresh, and the area was well maintained and cleaned. There were several choices for both breakfast and lunch entrees; I enjoyed the fried fish and beef burgundy, while my husband said both the fried chicken and the beef (I think it was prime rib) were good, but the beef was on the tough side. The French toast was puffy and moist, but the Belgian waffles were hard and bone dry. The scrambled eggs were rather dense, but the bacon, sausage, and cheesy potatoes were, we agreed, flavorful. The dessert selection was meager, primarily cookies and some bar cookies, and the breakfast pastry selections were rather tasteless and beginning to harden. I'd guess they'd been out for awhile. Our pleasant server was prompt with keeping our beverages topped off and clearing the table. This restaurant, due to its rustic look, is always darker than most restaurants; as this was daytime and our dining air had few windows, brighter lighting would have been nice.

At one point, I worked as a restaurant and wine critic in NYC. One of my favorite restaurants,…read morecalled Dean Street Cafe, was located across the street from my apartment. They made a terrific burger with a slab of blue cheese topped with tart pickled red onions. But their signature dish, if you will, were the perfectly cooked handcut french fried they served with their burgers. The fries were long, expertly crispy and pillowy soft inside. The last fry was as crisp as the first. My brother, a chef from Ohio, came to visit once and I took him there. His eyes popped at the first fry he ate and exclaimed, "Damn, someone in the kitchen cares about potatoes!" That happened to me the first time I ate at Mimosa. I ordered an omelet with the house breakfast potatoes, which taste like they are slowly cooked in olive oil until fork tender and crispy on the edges. Easily some of the best potatoes I have had in MKE. Then I reached across the table and stole a handcut french fry from my daughter's plate. Late in the meal, the fry was still warm, brown and perfectly crispy. "Damn", I said, "Someone in the kitchen cares about potatoes!" Then disaster struck. The regular french fry cutter die must have broken in the kitchen, and now they cut the fries terribly thick like Lincoln Logs. Sure they're still beautifully brown, but because they are so think and have a higher moisture content to surface area they simply cannot get crispy enough. Within a minute of the hitting the table the logs of fries are soft and soggy, and no amount of fry time will help. If it were not for the great fry debacle, a story I have yet to confirm with the restaurant, Mimosa would easily be one of my few five-star restaurants in the MKE. The menu is large and offers something for everyone. Including many gluten-free and plant-based options for myself, old school corned beef and hash for my dad, terrific south of the border specials that my wife loves, and plenty for our kids. Sure the fries were once legendary (and I hope the chef will read this and order a replacement die for the fry cutter), but if you've made it this far in my review rest assured that every dish here taste like it is cooked by someone in the kitchen who cares about their craft, and the house potatoes are an (almost) fine substitute for what was once Milwaukee's best french fry.
