This dental clinic refuse to release copies of my dental X-rays, after I requested them to provide to my new dentist. On my first 2 attempts, I was told the dentist would get in touch with me, however, on the 3rd follow up, the person who answered the call said, the dental clinic does not keep copies of dental X-rays. These dental X-rays are part of this patients dental records and have been paid for by her dental insurance.

But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.

In the past, I have had so many bad experiences with dentists ignoring pain signals, rushing through everything without pausing to explain anything, and even recommending unnecessary invasive procedures. Thank you so much to Joanna, Stephanie and Dr. Armin for helping me today. I went in with a lot of embarrassment and worry after neglecting my cleanings for two years, expecting the worst. The entire team was kind and patient with me, and I had the most thorough exam and cleaning I have ever had in my life. They have all the new equipment and offer excellent explanations.
