I am a veterinarian and I need my hands to be 100% to allow me to perform surgery on my furry four legged patients. The other hand surgeon I initially went to see for my injury said that he would recommend I go to Dr Badia because of his skill level and high case load. The particular injury I had was not super common in the general population, and was associated more with athletes. Dr Badia is out of network for all health insurance policies. So you will likely end up paying more out of pocket than you would with other doctors. But in my opinion, it's worth investing in yourself to ensure the best possible outcome for your injury. I'm still in the recovery phase, so I can speak yet on the outcome...but so far so good. The staff is all very kind and helpful.

Despite being given clear instructions on how to verify eligibility through a third-party administrator (which was 100% in-network), they had absolutely no idea how to proceed. The doctor is in-network, yet the staff's lack of knowledge prevented me from even making an appointment. To make matters worse, communication was a major struggle, as the front desk staff had difficulty speaking English, making the process even more frustrating. I cannot speak on the doctor's quality of care--she may be excellent--but unfortunately, I will never find out because her office staff is incapable of handling basic administrative tasks. I immediately contacted another podiatrist's office, and they verified the insurance seamlessly without any issues. If this office wants to retain patients, they need to train their staff properly. What a shame if the doctor is actually good, but the front office is driving patients away.

Once there, you find out after waiting a half hour in an empty waiting room, that they add an obligatory ultrasound and consultation and you can't get service you paid for without more time waste. When you explain you have an appointment, an ultrasound tech with the worst attitude ever tells you your appointment is only a guideline that depends on how many patients they have, never mind they added a "free service" they never warned you about. I say, save your money. Even with discounts and Groupons, they're nothing but a big waste of time and a lot of needless aggravation. They should use all that energy into providing a good service and experience and people would be back and ask what more they can buy. But if you start by annoying people with surveys and requirements to trick them into paying more, you lose them forever. Me? Never again.

That being said, I can say from personal experience Dr Loria is extremely professional and considerate. He talks to you like a friend and is concerned greatly about getting the results you are looking for. Its his reputation on the line and because of his quality of work his is booked up for while. Took me 2 months to get my next appointment. I am a repeat "customer." His staff also keeps in touch with you DAILY to make sure you are doing well and to make sure everything is as it should be. They also are extremely nice and make you feel very comfortable. I have talked to at least 6 different staff members and they are all the same, super super nice and personable. At the end of the day it turned out to be a Lumbar Stenosis, HNP Herniated Nucleus Pulpous and a Lumbar Spondylosis that required surgery. During all this time, Dr. Silvana Gonzalez marked the path of my recovery and established the steps to follow that today make me return after surgery, to a normal life free of pain.
