I have loved Andy's since they opened so many years ago! The Tam family are so kind and I think the food is excellent. The portions are extremely generous. I tried the General Tso chicken many years ago and have never chosen another entree. I've had bites of others, but why stray from my favorite? So this is the first disappointment in my series of restaurants that I've been to that occupy old Bells! As the majority of them I've been to have been awesome to more awesome but that's not the case here! Chinese food is something that I look forward to as it's supposed to contain bold flavors but that's not the case here as the food I received was totally tasteless! So let's start with when I opened the plastic bag I smelled a kinda burnt smell coming from it which I would later find out that it was the broccoli as it was over cooked and horrible! Of the options I went with the general chicken spicy it wasn't spicy at all and it was just totally flavorless in many ways I do give them some credit because it looks like they make it themselves but it comes out poorly executed boring and just blahhh! The rice is the same flavorless and boring like not even good for rice even with some soy sauce just leaving it for no hope at all! The egg rolls were the better part of this bland meal as they kinda had some taste to them but not much as they too needed some help! Overall bland food that wasn't worth the money rarely do I throw out food but this I couldn't even finish as it was just not good and tasted burned in a few ways so this concludes this chapter in the Bell series as we definitely won't be back here again! read more

Yea....this place. Ordered the sesame chicken, sweet & sour chicken, special fried rice & 3 eggrolls for 4 people. First of all, everything was very greasy. The chicken in both meals was overly breaded with what was similar to corn dog breading. Not at all the usual light crisp tempura found at 99% of Chinese takeouts. I was never inclined to try this place but after hearing some rave reviews by friends, I thought I'd give it a go. Upon entering there was a nice saltwater tank and the decor was done well enough that there was only a hint of the previous taco bell. Had I not known, I might not have even noticed. The counter attendant was cheerful and helpful asking us what we liked in our dishes and pointed out a few specialties. The menu is streamlined into numbered selections with combo options so ordering's a breeze even if you're not familiar with this genre of food. We found a table and when our ticket was called over the speakers went up and got our dishes. Up to this point our visit was pleasant enough but I wish I could say that carried over to the food. Even though we were dining in, our food was served in styrofoam to-go containers. The portions were huge so maybe it was just to eliminate the obvious but I found it a little tacky. I had ordered the hunan chicken and my first bite was rubbery with a large piece of cartilage or something that I had to spit into my napkin. Being optimistic and willing to forgive a small oversight, I tried a few more pieces to find that all the chicken in the dish had a strange rubbery texture. Like clam strips.... I eventually pushed it all to the side and stuck to the rice and veggies. They were pleasant but nothing phenomenal. It's a shame that the food isn't prepared and presented with more care. The place is on to something with it's simplicity and great staff but based on the food, I doubt I'll return. read more

Tried Andy's last year when we went to Cedar Point. Being a fan of chinese food and in Cedar Point for almost a full week I was craving some good chinese. We used to spend the whole day at the amusement park eating junk food and by the time we left were so exhausted and all we needed were naps. Andy's was one of the only few places that were open at that time. Enjoyed the food thoroughly, cheap, good quantity and he makes it spicy if you ask him. We went there twice during our one week stay in Sandusky Ohio. Will definitely go again if I ever end up in Sandusky ohio again! We met the owner and he was also the chef! read more

Quality has declined over the years. I have been a regular local customer for over two years and after my most recent experience, I will no longer buy from them. I'll start with the only pros: Fast and friendly delivery people. Unfortunately, that's about it. They have recently hiked their delivery minimum from $10 to $15, while the quality of food has steadily been decreasing. Not that it was too great to being with; very greasy and I've ordered white rice before that was covered in what looked like dirt. However, the worst has been their decline in customer service; the customer is NOT always right when it comes to the owners of this establishment. Today, me and my girlfriend ordered two combos with no vegetables, as we do almost every time we order. The food arrived, to our disappointment, with vegetables. We had recieved incorrect orders before, but let it slide without calling. This time we called back to explain the problem, and the lady on the phone was extremely defensive and rude. She argued that 'I was wrong,' and that 'she wasn't paying attention and that I should have made sure that SHE got the order right.' She started to say how 'vegetables are good for you anyway,' and that I should be happy with my order. At this point, I tried to politely ask for a refund, to which she replied 'no, it wasn't our fault. We can send another order, but you would have to pay an additional delivery fee,' to which I had enough and hung up. Do NOT bother with this place. There are many better Chinese places in Sandusky. I would recommend the China Dragon Buffet in the Walmart plaza. It is right off of 250 near the exits to Rt 2. read more

So far this had been one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in the area. I'm from the Chicagoland area and Chinese food is prepared differently where I'm from. It's great to find a place away from home that has food with good flavor, a friendly staff, and makes you feel at home. My friend and I have tried a dozen places in the area and he is from Columbus. This seems to be the one that has top them all! I definitely recommend you give it a shot, and Have an open mind if you're from an area that does Chinese food differently. read more

Tasty food and friendly service. They have delivery and even a drive-thru. Very convenient to swing through on your way home and pick up your order at the window. They have really good egg rolls and other appetizers. I haven't tried every item on the menu, but my favorites are Almond Chicken, General Chicken and Mongolian Beef. The portion sizes are very fair & filling. Almond chicken is battered white meat chicken pieces over a little bit of fresh cabbage. Slivered almonds on top and DELICIOUS sauce. The General chicken is different from most other restaurants I've visited, but I still like it. Same battered white meat chicken as the almond chicken dish, but a tasty/spicy brown sauce instead. If you like spicy dishes, the mongolian beef is great. Strips of beef with plenty of fresh veggies. You can order it mild, medium or hot. I only have two negative things to say, but they aren't enough to sway me from frequenting the restaurant again. One, I wasn't a big fan of the fried rice that came with the entrees. It was a little plain, but no big deal. Two, as others have mentioned in reviews, the food is served in sorta flimsy styrofoam containers. It can be a bit messy carrying your items home with the sauce leaking out. (I love how you get plenty of sauce in your meal, though. So, I'm hesitant to complain. lol) read more

This restaurant serves the typical Chinese American food. It is prepared very well. The rice is not greasy and there was a good amount of protein in the dishes I have ordered. The portions are very large, I can eat half for lunch and the second half for dinner. They offer a choice of spice levels that seems to be very consistent. They customer service is excellent. Ate here a few years ago and noticed a burnt taste in my fried rice. Ate here again yesterday because the wife and I felt like Chinese and there is not much to choose from in Sandusky. Food had that same burnt flavor while not over powering it was still there in the fried rice. I had the golden dragon fried rice. It was edible but not great with the burnt aftertaste. Wife had egg foo young which was according to her was " ok". Egg rolls were ok not bad just ok. They did have a homemade hot mustard sauce for them that was really good. Probably won't eat here again, mostly because there are better places in other towns but for what it is worth it's probably the best in Sandusky. We were tired from being at Cedar Shores all day. So when we got home, we decided on Chinese food for dinner. We were able to order online, see the prices for each item. The website was easy and comfortable to use. Sent an email confirming they had received my order and my order was promptly delivered 15 minutes earlier than the website said. Now for the food, it was hot when it was delivered. Wonderful flavor. We ordered the beef fried rice and beef and broccoli. Also ordered crab ragoons, and vegetable lo mein. All wonderful meals. Got severe food poisoning from here. One of the dirtiest Chinese restaurants I've ever been to and would not recommend this place to anyone. Went here with four other individuals, ordered food and experienced ridiculously slow service, and when we got our meals it all tasted like burnt, charred meat and salt. I made the person on the phone repeat my order (which is the only thing I could do on a phone in order) and he got it right, after I literally spelled out part of my order. And yet, it wasn't complete when I got here. The sole good thing was that they didn't charge for what they didn't send. Other than that, when I called in to explain, I was put on the phone with a very rude woman who said they'd fix it, but I'd have to pay another $5 for delivery... another $5 for their mistake to the fella I'd already paid $5 to deliver and to whom I gave a $4+ tip. Horrible! We ordered food at 7 online which was supposed to come at 7:45. At 8 we got a call from the driver that she was no longer then 10 minutes away. At 8:25 she pulled in and only gave us half of our order. I called and the owner just kept talking over me about how busy they were and that they do their best but couldn't do anything for me unless I wanted to return all my food. She then hung up on me while I was saying I would like our food, that was our families dinner but I would like you to make it right and give me the money back for the forgotten items. After several minutes of her yelling I gave up and told her to bring the food. At 8:45 the rest of our order arrived and the driver let me know that the owner called her right before she pulled in and told her not to bring us the order. Terrible customer service. First drive thru chinese restaurant Ive ever been to. I was expecting to wait in the car for 10-15min, but they were surprisingly quick within 5 mins. I ordered the large general tso chicken combo with drink and egg roll for about little over $11. Large without combo is $8.50, regular is $6.50. I rate chinese food based on how good their general chicken is. Sandusky has disappointed me again. This is the 2nd chinese takeout I've been to in town and both their general tso chicken suck. The general chicken here doesn't take like general tso chicken. Theres just something missing. It tasted like mcdonalds chicken nuggets just covered with a sauce.
