This AFC is right off the freeway and so has good access. Getting to it in the strip mall can be a little confusing but not too bad. Service here was fast and friendly. It was deserted and quiet on our visit on a Sat around 6:30-7:30. We got a medium and large concrete. The quality is better than Freddy's, comparable to Sheridans and Good Times. The hot fudge only goes half way down the concrete on applicable items, so manage it for good distribution for your food. There is adequate parking in the lot. It is well lit. The area should be reasonably safe. The Yelp 4.4 star average is probably a little low due to entitled customers complaining. They are a solid 4.5-5 star business. Definitely give them a try if you want a nice desert. read more

The service here is usually very good and the ice cream so yummy. Tonight however, my friend ordered a peanutbutter cup concrete and mine contained no peanutbutter. I guess the mixing machine hadn't been cleaned properly and I found peanutbutter cups mixed in with mine. This Andy's location is a God send. There was nothing like it in this area before and now I visit regularly... even during winter lol. If it's your first time going, I highly recommend getting the vanilla frozen custard so you can truly taste and appreciate the unmatched eggy flavor. It gets a little lost in the chocolate custard but don't get me wrong, the chocolate custard is 10/10 too. There are a couple of cute red benches outside for sitting. But I love that they have a drive-through and while you wait in line there's a youngin who will come out there with their iPad and take your order so then when you get to the drive-through window, they just take your payment and give you your treats! read more

Sometimes it comes out awesome, other times portion control seems to get the best of whoever made it. Their custard is consistently delicious! They offer custard: concretes, sundaes, splits, milkshakes, malts, etc. So many options! You can also take pints of your favorites home! I always get their chocolate concrete and mix in toppings. On my most recent visit, I got the triple chocolate concrete. It had melted chocolate chips and cookie dough. Sooo good! Their custard is always thick and creamy. Don't forget to get an Andy's frequent buyer card, bc you will be back! A side note: order custard at the window or drive thru only. I usually don't have any complaints when I come to this Andy's but today was different. I didn't get what I ordered even after I repeated my order and had it read back to me. All the orders weren't exactly what my family and I wanted. An additional topping I requested was put in another concrete and the size I ordered for one was wrong. The female that took my order seemed really rushed for some reason even though I was the only car in the drive through at the time and the walk up only had two people. When my order was read back to me I turned to my daughter to ask what size I said to confirm my order. When I told the employee I said a different size for one of my orders, her facial expression and body language lacked professionalism. When I went to the window she handed me two of three so I had to remind her I had one more waiting. I'll give this location the benefit of the doubt since it may have been teens behind the counter making the concretes and taking orders but a little advice - don't rush through the orders or you'll get it wrong, which leaves the customer dissatisfied and disappointed with the service. read more

Every now and then I get a real craving for just a vanilla swirl ice cream from Dairy Queen. I happen to be up by Kroger on Subletting Road, had a craving. Unfortunately the closest Dairy Queen was all the way down on Broad Street and I happened to notice in the same parking lot as Kroger was an ice cream stand called Andy's frozen custard. Wow. Best custard I have ever had. At first glance I was skeptical, thinking it would be too sweet, but everything was just perfect. Contrary to what we expected, there is no in-store seating. You can either order via drive-thru or order at the counter from outside, which adds a pretty neat vibe to the place. I would highly recommend the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer (picture attached). The peanut butter just seals the deal. I only give it 4 stars because although what you're getting is delicious, it still seemed a little pricey. Come check this place out! I cannot express how much we adore Andy's. They give great customer service and their frozen custard is on point! I had the seasonal BlackBerry concrete, my hubby had his usual the James Brown funky jackhammer, my 7yro had one with oreos and chocolate fudge, and my youngest had a kids strawberry shortcake. They were all devoured as usual. We used to live near the Dallas location off Audelia Rd. When we we found a rental in Arlington we knew we were in the right house. I mean it was meant to be. I am going to start with saying that I love Andy's and have been coming to this location about once a week since it opened. Concretes are always great and delicious. Now onto cones....Still delicious, but today I was handed this (see picture) as a medium chocolate in cake cone. When I *politely* asked the lady if this was a medium and why it is all melted, she informed me with a noticeable attitude that "yes, a medium is 3 scoops and it is hot outside." Then she wrapped 4 more napkins around it and handed it to me while dripping icecream on my hand and the side of my car. Yes indeed, it is hot outside. However, if the custard was scooped once I'm *at* the window and paid for it, it would not have had a chance to melt to this degree. This thing was scooped when I ordered it, several minutes prior, 4 cars back, with the lady who was outside taking orders with the tablet. I am not even going to touch on serving size. It was probably 3 scoops at one point.... This is a recurring issue and today was the 3rd time I paid for a poorly constructed, melting, dripping cone. I used to love Andy's when visiting family in Missouri and was very happy when I noticed that it was close to my kid's swimming lessons. It's now our ritual to go after the lessons are over. I've tried most of the concretes and all are wonderful, especially the seasonal ones. They don't use a speaker for ordering. If the line is long they will have an employee with a tablet come out or you just order at the window. The only reason why I subtracted a star is that it seems like staff aren't really trained in how to use the app. The app works really well for frequent visitors because you can accumulate points for a free treat. You can also add money to it and use it as a payment method like so many other restaurants have these days. More often than not, though, there seems to be confusion as to how to pay with the app and a lot of the times it seems like the cashier is unaware that it can be used as a payment method. It always gets resolved in the end, though. read more

I had an old fashion soda with raspberry and it was delish. I didn't try everyone else's but mine was super delicious. The only complaint is I wish you could order when you are looking at the menu. By the time I got thru the long line to the window to order I confused the girl and she didn't know what I was talking about so had to ask coworkers if an old fashion soda was on the menu. I will definitely return. Everyday I pass by and it's super packed at the window and drive thru so everyone must also love it! I just inhaled a stolen brownie sundae. They take a super soft, fudgy, melt-in-your-mouth brownie and douse it in creamy, hot fudge. This is topped with 2 generous scoops of their to die for vanilla custard and sprinkled with pecans. So yum. So decadent. I am in love with their custard. I can't wait to try the chocolate one next. The only other custard I've had in the area is shake shack (Dallas) and this was just as good, if not better, because there are so many toppings and different customizable options. There's only a drive thru, no indoor access whatsoever, but there are a few benches outside. Service is super quick, like INSANELY quick.
