My dad referred me to Andy's because they are a reputable shop. Last year my timing break went out and I was told by two shops and a dealership my car would need a new engine. I took my vehicle there to get tips installed. I dropped it off as soon as they opened didn't receive it until 5:30 pm. When I saw the car, the tips were sticking out so far that it looked comical. I was so displeased I took the vehicle the next day to another shop. read more

Avoid this place at all cost. They are selective scammers. I went to this place to get my catalytic converter fixed which is very expensive and not even one year later I still have the same problem and have to pay over 2,000 dollars to get it a new one. They replaced my old one with a used one that broke down not too long after they claimed to fix it. I spent $1500 with them just to get completely screwed. Please avoid this shady business establishment, they do not care about how much you pay and doing good work they are out for your money and looking to do the least they can do to satisfy their customers. Was given a quote went to pick up my van and price doubled from quote, when I asked why was told they put a 2inch piece of pipe and a small hanger was not asked nor told until I asked about the price jump. Quite superior auto repair than any other we have experienced in Snellville or Gwinnett County. Not cheap, but the work really gets done and is done right. They'll check your vehicle for engine error codes, look it over & get back to you with quote. That part can take awhile, but once your vehicle is in the service bay and you give them the go-ahead to start on the work they can often fix it the same day, even if it is quite a lot of repairs. This is a locally owned repair shop. My experience with the corporate owned repair shops is that the work takes a long time and *I* have to keep checking on the status, but the Andy's staff kept me reasonably informed. Although the name says "mufflers," they do other auto repairs. UPDATE-They do not do emission testing. There are plenty of other places to get that done, so this not an issue, just an F.Y.I. read more

This was as best of auto repair experience I have had and I am planning on going there again! They emission tested my car for $12.95. Inspected my vehicle and gave me a list of recommendations (I had done this earlier at the Nissan dealership and their list matched up item for item.) To top it off it was at least 40% cheaper than what the dealer had quoted (they stated that they had the lowest price.) Ive never gone to andys for service work. I go to them for exhaust systems... There is a reason this place has been around for 30+ years. I just got my dodge dart a new cat back system installed. i provided them the muffler because pepboys had an unbeatable deal last week online. I told them exactly what i wanted and they delivered. not only did it sound great, I got on the ground and looked up under the car to check out how they rigged it up, and i must say it is one of the cleanest jobs ive ever seen and this is coming from a welder. When i was getting the job quote before hand i thought the price was a little high but after the job was done and i have seen the work, I couldn't be more satisfied with how it turned out. read more

My family has been going here for auto repairs, but no longer will I bring him or refer him to anyone ever again. I needed my brakes and rotors changed and he was saying I needed brake calibers on the rear and it was gonna cost over a grand, so I sought a second, third and fourth opinion on this. All of them said that at the most it should cost $700 max, they also said that I wasn't needing brake calibers and only needed my rotors changed. Even a mechanic who used to work for Andy's said that he's been doing this type of stuff to people. So I would be very leery of Andy's Muffler. I even asked the people from Auto Zone and they were shocked by what he was wanting to charge me and said it should be around $500-$700 max as well. He may do good work, but I feel you may be over charged for his services. Just watch out for him. read more

Grew up in the area and have used Andy's muffler several times for my exhaust upgrades. You know, I cannot recall having any problems and they have always been prompt and courteous. Also, my pet peave is that when I go to pay my bill, I want it to be what I was quoted, Andy's muffler was always good about that. Great job guys! read more

Brought my truck in here for a head gasket replacement. Originally quoted me $1000 total and 3 days in the shop. I had asked them to let me know about the timing chain because if it did need it now would be time to do it @ 200k + miles. Not only did I not get a phone call during all of this work but I had to call them after 5 days and not hearing from them at all. So I call and they say it's ready. Not sure why they didn't let me know it was ready muchessential about the timing chain. I go to pick up the truck and they mention that due to machining costs the price is now $1500. Reluctantly I pay the $1500 but when I got to start my truck it does not idle properly. Once driving it's fine but at idle it sounds like it's misfiring. I leave the truck with the shop for anot her 2 weeks and they were unable to determine why. And they never gave me a single update during the 2 weeks. I kept having to call and see. IMPORTANT: My general observation is that this shop has too high a volume for the number of workers so they do the bare minimum in order to get the vehicle back on the road. Not to mention that After being exhausted with no solution I took possession of my vehicle that is now running rougher thanot before I brought it in. The proof behind my general observation...before I brought the truck to them I replaced all spark plugs....brand new. Here is the list of things they did or did not do appropriately: 1. Exhaust manifold was missing 2 bolts 2. Much of the brackets that route cables, wires and hoses were not put back. This is just plain laziness and while not required for operation, you would expect the parts of your car to be placed back. Those brackets route those cables, wires and hoses for a reason. To prevent wear and tear from friction and heat. 3. The number 2 spark plug is completely rounded off. I still can't ascertain if during the course of replacing a head gasket they looked at other issues and saw theach appropriate time to repair other items. Because again they never called me to discuss any of this. So now here I am having to take the head off completely undoing what I paid for because they failed to inform and properly inspect other items. Over all a poor shop. Unless you have to go to them for a simple oil change or coolant flush don't bother after all they are a "muffler" shop. They also will probably charge too much for the oil change or the coolant flush as well. When I talked with Andy about all this his response was. "You're not going to find another shop that will be able to diagnose. Toyota calls me when they don't know what it is." My advise is to take your money elsewhere because they will either over charge or leave your vehicle worse off when it comes to engine repair. read more

Excellent! If your looking for honest, trustworthy, hard working, knowledgeable, Mechanics... then look no further. Matt worked on my family vehicle a 2000 ford excursion. We had nearly given up after some shameful work from Hennessy Ford and another mechanic telling us we needed a new motor. We were told to give Matt a try as he had fixed a vehicle for a friend of ours. We are over joyed that we did. For the first time in six months our family was able to go to church in our family vehicle rather then splitting up and taking two cars. The service at Andy's Muffler was impeccable, I was shocked how quickly we received the call that it would be ready for pick up! With more then reasonable prices they had our family back on the road and we are confident that we are in the best hands now. I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Andy's Muffler and Repair Shop this week. I had used it's facility once before when I had a muffler put on my Ford F-150. That muffler lasted for approximately 155,000 miles before separating from the tail pipe via a burn out. Nick who checked me in was extremely Professional, knowledgeable and courteous also performed the repairs on my truck stated that all I needed was a muffler and that the tail pipe was fine, since it was made out of stainless steel bak in 2001, the year of my truck. Andy's only performed the work that was needed on my truck and not sell me, less say a tailpipe that I did not need. As a customer, I really appreciated saving money and tell business not trying to take advantage of me as a customer. I knew immediately that this is a very honest business and I will definitely tell my family and friends about this business in case they need work performed on their vehicles. We should SUPPORT GOOD BUSINESSES LIKE ANDY'S. I will definitely return in the future for my automotive needs. Their work is affordable, as well. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE... HORRIBLE MECHANICS... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... I took my car there because I was having problems with misfires. I was wanting to get my 96 Impala back on the road as a daily driver. After getting my car serviced at another shop and having my emissions done, I decided to look into why the car was misfiring. I took it to another company and they wanted me to pay an unreasonable amount for a new catalytic converter. I called Andy's and they quoted me a better price, so I took my car to them to diagnose the problem. Well, they found other issues that "THEY THINK" could be causing the misfires. They suggested replacing the spark plug wires and the serpentine belt because it was sounding like it was having issues as well. I agree to the work and paid my tab. A week later my car is running extremely rough, misfiring, jerking, running hotter than usual, so I contact the shop and drop it back off with them to correct the issues. Four days later they can't find a solution to the problem. (Over those four days, I constantly have to call them for updates) I pick my car up on the fourth day and I'm given an enormous list of issues with my car totaling $1500 and my car running even worse. Before I can get home, my car is smoking, running hot,misfiring and making even louder sounds than it ever had. I get home to find fluid all over my engine and continuously spewing onto the engine from the coolant reservoir. I take it back to them the next day to discuss the work that has been done and possibly a refund. There is no way I'm going to let them continue destroying my car, yet their answer was to leave my car with them and let them continue to investigate. They accused me of lying about the car passing the emissions test and blaming their shoddy work on the fact that my car is old. Now I have to take my car to a real mechanic shop to fix the new issues that they have caused. If you are looking for reviews on these guys, this is it. STEER CLEAR...
