As a woman, going to an automotive repair shop can be intimidating and frustrating at times. But that is NOT the case here (or at the sister store, Lawrenceville Auto Center)! The front office staff is professional, knowledgeable and considerate and the services and prices are great! I left feeling well taken care of and respected. UPDATE: this morning Jeff the owner called me to discuss my experience with my AC repair. He researched the issue and stated their Freon machine was out of calibration last September when the original service was performed. He also took full responsibility and refunded my evacuation/recharge cost. He apologized and spoke to all involved to change how they handled my situation. I will give them another chance as they took accountability and made it right. Grayson Tire & Auto - so disappointed in their service and support. I had this shop repair my AC in September 2025 and experienced a strange issue where the AC would not turn on when the car was parked on hot days. I garage park my car so I rarely experienced the issue. With this hot weather recently the issue regularly appeared. I took it in as I had a two year warranty. After having the car for half a day they insisted nothing was wrong. They begrudgingly agreed to test again. After a few hours of the car parked in the hot sun, they saw the problem. They subsequently told me the Freon and PAC oil was way out of specs and I needed an evac and recharge. The problem is they were the only people to touch the AC and last to evac/recharge. When I explained this, they stated it was my fault as I must have had someone else work on it. I told them no one else but them worked on it. They said that is impossible. I pointed out how it could happen and they said even if they did make a mistake the Freon is not covered under warranty. When they originally fixed my AC they had issues and had to install a second compressor. Yet they stated they don't make mistakes. Customers vote with their wallet and they lost this customer of several years who has spent thousands on various services. Shame on you Grayson Tire & Automotive, do better. I will no longer recommend them on this platform. read more

They gave me a price of $848 for ONE TIRE! I originally purchased the tire 8months ago from Mavis. I called for another tow and had the car towed to Mavis who replaced and balanced the tire for $458...this is not the economy to take advantage of people...WE WILL REMEMBER! read more

I'm a person that reads a lot of reviews before making a decision. I confess, I typically don't write a lot of reviews however I felt that Grayson tire and auto deserved. An honest honest fair opinion of their service.. I have a 2016 Infiniti Q 60 and these cars are notorious on brakes and rotors . I knew that I needed brake work done but did not know how bad the damage was. The team there gave me an honest assessment that I need front brakes and rotors and that the back was just fine.. They did not try to upsell me or suggest any services that I did not need. They change my oil along with the services and did a wonderful job. I will be back. read more

Ask lots of questions before going here for a repair. You would think a mechanic might try to educate the customer before making repairs on your car's air condition. If there is a chance that a recharge won't make your system blow any cooler then you should let the customer know this so they can make a judgement call on whether to waste their money or not on something that has the possibility of NOT solving the problem! Update: Jeff (the owner) called me almost immediately after I left the 1st review. I explained what happened, and he was very apologetic. Told me to bring the car back so he could have it looked at. Turns out front rotors were warped, and I needed a tire rotation/balance and wheel alignment. Jeff repaired these items free of charge and I totally appreciate him for making sure he righted the initial wrong. Took my 2019 Chevy Suburban in because of some transmission shuddering and hard shifting. Told them that it was the transmission and could be the torque converter. Got a call later that day from Max explaining that there was nothing wrong with the transmission but the issue stemmed from bad spark plugs and I needed a tune up at $1100.00. I was relieved about the transmission and agreed to the work. Got a call saying the tune up was done but the transmission needed to be replaced for another $5500.00. This went from dropping my truck off at 7:30am with Christian music playing in the office to unskilled mechanics and thieving business practices in 6 hours. Not sure how many people will read this but I live in Lawrenceville. Everyone that I interact with in the Piedmont Healthcare system, Grayson Athletic Association, and the Veterans Administration (as others here I have served honorably) will here about this scam of a business for weeks, months, years. Marketing is funny like that, no money for advertising or commercials just putting the bad mouth on you whenever I get the chance. Misdiagnosed, $1000 more and 5 days without my truck US Marine Corp Veteran review I visited the Grayson GTA location after hearing a noise in my front left wheel. I did basic research and came up with it potentially being the hub, I even recorded the sound it made. When I brought it in I communicated to the office manager and shop manager where the noise was coming from, when it happened (when tires in motion) I played the recording of the actual sound I heard, and let them know I thought it was the hub. I mentioned that I'm no experts and I brought it to them because they were and the 300 plus 5 star Google reviews. Hours later they diagnosed it was my brakes and rotors totaling $1450 to repair. They shop manager and mechanic never came outside with me to confirm the noise. I emphasized that I wanted them to be sure because that was an expensive repair and the last thing I wanted was to move forward and still have the issue. They assured me that is the noise and issue. I proceed with the repair and came to pick up my truck. After a test drive with the shop manager. The issue and noise I came in for was still there. I asked the shop manager and explained that I told had told him what the noise was, when it happens and shared the recording with him, how could I still have the issue? Long story short, the "mechanic" heard a different sound and we went off of that diagnostic. Both the shop manager and mechanic never came outside with me to hear the sound so I can confirm it to them directly. They didn't even triage or check what I thought was the issue(the hub) in their diagnostic. They repair the wrong and repair was incorrect. They asked to keep my truck over the closed weekend so they can look at it first thing Monday. I receive a call on Monday afternoon to tell me the issue was exactly what I though and shared and that repair could be done in an hour. This repair would have been $700 at most with parts and their labor rate. In order to get my truck back I had to pay $1800 for a repair they misdiagnosed, reassured me that was the issue, to then Diagnose and repair as I originally shared. This repair if done correctly would have been done in 1 days versus 5 days without my truck and $700 versus the $1800 they charged me. I wanted to share my experience so it doesn't happen to others. I wouldn't recommend this shop because they missed the basics of a diagnostic, they put their interest before every everything I shared. It's hard to find an honest mechanic these days, don't let the hundreds plus review fool you. read more

Don't take your car to this establishment unless you like paying way to much for any mechanical work. May be OK for tires and oil changes, but they will wind up charging you for things that you don't need and over charging you for things you may need for mechanical work. For example: Cars was running a little rough- still running rough! $ 130 to diagnose + $580 = $710 for 6 cyl tune up of wires and plugs $200 for BG fuel system cleaning? probably just put in some fuel system cleaner Replaced upper engine mount $209 & $75 labor for 10 min. job. Can buy part almost anywhere for $25-75 Replace tail light bulb $45 easy job, might take 10 min. Replace frt. hub assy.'s $638 about right $100 for a front alignment that I had to take back and have redone, on my time, and they tried to say it was probably the drivers fault for hitting a hole or something. They did realignment, but begrudgingly. It couldn't have been that their tech didn't do it right the 1st time! You get the picture. You may as well go to a dealer, if you want to get taken advantage of, and they will give you a warranty. Won't be taking this car back here again! read more

Previous customer before the new owners took over and always felt like I got a good deal. I took my 2004 truck here for some rattling in the front end. After a $49 diagnosis fee they told me I needed $1,700 worth of repairs to fix the noise. I decided to invest in the vehicle since I could probably get another year or two out of it. Sadly they never told me when it was finished, I had to call and check on it. I went up there and paid, jumped in the truck and took off. Same noise, took it back and they told me it was another part and they forgot to tell me about it. Also said it would be another 1/2 hr labor +parts. Bottom line I think their work is quality, but customer service is lacking. I may be shopping for a new mechanic. Update: 8-2-2019 Thank you Grayson Tire and auto for offering to install the sway bar links free of charge. However you already charged me for them. I was filing the receipt today and noticed I was charged for them. $203.90. I called this place up late one evening almost about one hour to closing, I found a screw on one of tires while I was changing my brakes, I asked if the patched tires they told me they did but they weren't going to be able to help since it was almost closing time, I asked them again if they could please help me out that I needed my car to get to work the next day, they finally agreed to, I brought the car over they patched the tire and when it was time to pay they told me it was free that I didn't have to worry about anything just to bring them back business in the future, I would recommend this place due to my past experience. I had been going to them mainly for oil changes in the last couple of years. One day I went through some water on the road and did not realize that the cover under the car that covers the parts came off. It cost me $700 to replace. My mechanic said it probably was not tightened after an oil change. So the next time I went to them for an oil change I told them what happened and asked them to make sure that they tighten the cover back under the car. Recently it rained and I went through a little water and I started hearing scraping on the ground. I took it back to my mechanic, the cover is not off but he said that many of the fasteners were not there. That means they had to NOT put most of the fasteners back on even after I told him what happened before. I'm just finding this out today. But since then I went to them to get a battery. The guy asked me how much did I plan to spend on a battery. I had already looked at prices and for my car it was around $290 And I told him so. When I got my car I noticed that things were not responding as usual inside the car. When I looked at the battery it was not the right one and it needed to be a grade higher. They tried to convince me that it was the right one but offered to upgrade it for free. For free? They didn't put the right one in in the 1st place. Friendly people, clean environment but lousy work. I've taken both my cars down there because I was new to town and felt like they had decent reviews on another website ( at the time I did not know they had sold the company to new ownership.). I had a wheel bearing making noise on my Silverado so I had that replaced and to my dismay whoever repaired chose to "adjust" my warning bar on my brake pads and the counter rep tried to tell me they only had 4% life left. So needless to say I wasn't squeaking before I pulled in but I was when I left. I took the truck home and jacked it up took the wheels off to see a goo 50+% of brake pad left but the warning bar was bent near strait into the roter. I fixed this issue and just was content to move on. However, my wife who did not know better saw her tire was flat and went to the same shop because I had not bothered to complain to her... They wanted 240+ dollars for a single tire! What an obvious cash grab! I sent her down to Discount tire after hearing the quote and got her 4 brand new tires for a little over 350. My assessment is this was once a great shop owned by good people and now it is a new shop who is willing to take good money from hard-working people who do not know any better. read more

Took my car in for an engine light. They said it was the catalytic converter. They replaced it. Engine light came back on one day later. They said it must be some sensors, which they replaced. One day later the engine light came back on . They said it must be some other sensors, which they then replaced . One day later the engine light came back on. I was finally through with Grayson Tire and Auto and took it too Nash Chevrolet. They said it was an incorrect catalytic converter for that car. They replaced it with the correct converter and the engine light never came back on. $1600. dollars down the drain at Grayson Tire and Auto. They refused to reimburse me for a job not done. read more

Grayson tire and auto center does not value your time. I took my car there at 8 o'clock in the morning. The mechanic did not touch the car the whole day. The next day when I asked if it was ready, He said that he tried to call to see if he should fix the brakes. (The very reason I took the car there in the first place ) I looked at my missed calls and he never called. The next day I was there all day until 5 o'clock before he finished the vehicle. It was only to replace rear brake pads. I would not recommend this mechanic shop. They do not value their customers or their time!!! read more

Second BAD experience with this business. The first was on my Cadillac Catera a few years back. They put breaks on my car. When I started on my trip to Fla. the next day, something didn't feel right when breaking. A mechanic checked my car and said the rotors were damaged. I pulled the paperwork out of the dash, and I'd paid for the rotors to be turned. The mechanic said take it back and have it fixed. No luck getting this fixed when I took the car back. They just argued with me. Now, my neighbor had her front bearings replaced in her car there. The antilock break sensor light came on. It wasn't on before she took it. They were very rude. I sent her to my mechanic. He said it's very common to break or cut the sensor wire when changing the bearings. read more
