Andy's is the most popular spot to eat in West Point and Highland Falls for good reason: it is the perfect diner serving perfect diner food. You won't find a better breakfast anywhere (or at least anywhere close by..) You have to try the amazing omelettes and pancakes (you won't believe the prices, so try it all and find your favorite!) For lunch, the burgers are great, the fries are amazing and I'm sure everything else is good, too (we just can't ever get past the burgers or breakfast!) Our server, Eva, has worked there for years and is as charming as can be. Any of the reviews mentioning beleaguered wait staff need to look around and see how hard these people are working. Also note that for many of them it is one of two or three jobs. Andy's truly represents the good food and good people that make up America. So let me start off by saying it's 6 AM. I've been driving almost 4 he's already and I am annoyed as hell. I'm tired. I'm hungry. I've got to get something to eat. Andy's is a typical diner experience; bar behind (or is is in front of) the griddle and the cook, regulars seated and talking with one another, waitress at the ready to keep your coffee cup full. I can't believe a restaurant that depends on the public for their livelihood could treat people like they treated me and my wife. We stood at the front door waiting politely for someone to seat us or at least acknowledge that we were there. Without even turning to face us a rude little woman mumbled" Sit wherever you want." Andy's is a small local diner with roughly ten tables in one room and a bar lining the kitchen in the other (also has another three small tables). To be honest, I have only gone to Andy's on Sunday afternoons so my description maybe only accurate to this time but it is also crowded. Be prepared to wait 15+ minutes especially if you want a table. I always go for the Black Knight Omelet, scrambled with egg beaters (extra) and have never been disappointed. Went here for breakfast one morning while visiting the area. It was Saturday around 8 am, so not very busy at all. We were sat right away, our waitress was friendly, and the service was great! I went to this restaurant with some friends after our visit to West Point. Old, somewhat rundown establishment, with some charm because of that. We all ordered salads. I can't speak of the others, however I found mine to be old and somewhat wilted. The goat cheese and the walnuts on it were tasty and plentiful. What a great local breakfast and brunch restaurant. Brings back some really great memories. I ordered the veggie omelette while my beau ordered the gyro omelette. Both were very good but I think the gyro omelette may have been better. Coffee was pretty terrible though. The food came out very quickly despite us coming at prime breakfast hours on Saturday. Naturally, the restaurant was packed with West Point cadets, which is always pleasant to witness. The portions are pretty giant. They serve probably the biggest pancakes I have ever seen and they also have a really large variety which I love. So I love Andy's for its sentimental value but if I were to review the food objectively, I'd say the food isn't great. It's decent. Your classic small-town America diner. My sandwich came out piping hot and packed with turkey. My fries were hot and crispy. I got a pile of yummy pickles. All for under $10! I forgot to take a picture until after I had already eaten half the sandwich! So imagine two more portions on the plate. I got my toddler a pancake and scrambled egg, they came out fresh from the griddle and WOW! I'm picky about pancakes and it was delicious. My one complaint (and I've seen this a few places in NY) is that your syrup comes in a plastic tub, like a fast food condiment.
