If you're not in the mood to pay $40+/person after your best friend's wedding to her military man, stop by here on your way out of town. The area is pretty sleepy on Sunday morning, so street parking is relatively easy and free on Sundays. Breakfast is cheap, and the tomato, onion, and lox omelet is a great choice. Great place for breakfast. The Highland Falls Omelette was fantastic. Pretty sure it was cash-only due to the awful looking ATM machine in the center of the dining room. Service was great, waitresses were cute, food was excellent. Only complaint would be that it quickly got crowded and loud but didn't take away from the overall experience. Really great and friendly service. We just pulled off the highway to check out West Point and got hungry. Just walked in b/c it had a comfy Americana diner feel and I was driving around with a tourist from Asia. We had a burger and chicken Marsala with green beans (daily special). Andy's food is DELICIOUS! Everything was so fresh! The chicken Caesar salad had fresh crisp romaine and warm just grilled chicken on top. The club sandwich turkey was made with fresh turkey not the pressed sandwich stuff. The rice pudding was delicious too! John the owner was fun, with a great sense of humor. In short, this has become my go-to breakfast place when visiting West Point. I have been here maybe a half-dozen times or more - sometimes solo, sometimes with the family. I like this place. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the breakfast choices are hardy, varied, and satisfying. The coffee flows hot and fast. Andy's has a classic, Northeastern diner feel with counter and table seating overlooking their open griddle and colored by the sounds of clattering dishes and banter between the regulars. We made the mistake of sitting outside. Even though we told them we were out there it took forever for them to come out and even take our order. I had to beg for a second cup of coffee. The restaurant inside was relatively empty. I didn't think the food was ever going to come and what it did they messed up my order. Then I had to wait forever for them to fix it and get me the right order. Don't go here unless you have a lot of free time. read more

Having lived in Oregon for years but being from New England, Andy's brings me "back home". From the slam and jam pace of ordering and service to the banter that goes back and forth. They even let Joe, a fine Marine, in the place. He doesn't get bothered by the Army folks, however, because he could kick anybody's butt. Eddy on the grill is like watching a fine maestro in action. No matter how busy, he just keeps flowing and cranking out the orders. The Greek Orthodox family that owns and manages Andy's is a delight. Waited hours for food. Mediocre, bland omelettes, poorly done hash, iffy coffee. Cramped and loud with lazy service. Got about half of the things we asked for. All the food was cold by the time we got it despite the servers insistence that the plates were "really, really hot, don't touch them." 2 stars. 1 because we did, in fact, get food and 2 because they have super clean bathrooms. I mean just top notch bathrooms here. Come for the bathrooms, stay for the nothing. Don't stay. Go a block away for your edible needs. read more

I love Andy's. One of the few genuine diner's in New York I enjoy. Breakfast at Andy's is hearty and slightly greasy, as it ought to be. Eggs be they scrambled or fried are perfect, Bacon is crispy and sausages are to die for. Lunches are very good. I prefer the Gyro and fries or the Thursday special of corned beef and cabbage.
