Off a recommendation from my regional director, I drove to Andy's sandwich shop which is literally 3 minutes away. I called in my order in and waited 2 minutes and was out the door. Andy's has a wide dining room and I know it get crowded. $14 dollars got me a Reuben all the way, French fries and an enormous drink. I did not get napkins and a straw in the bag but I did not ask either. The Reuben was hot and fresh. The fresh were warm and unsweetened Ice tea was oh so cold with a lot of ice to wash it all down. All and all, Andy' s sandwich shop was worth the trip in 3 minutes. read more

Loved the good old fashion atmosphere at Andy's. I only tried their tuna salad, but my sandwich was bursting at the seams. This is not one of your cookie cutter sandwich, shops, you get it exactly the way you want it and next time I'm gonna throw in a curveball or two just to see if they'll respond They're not very close to my office, so I went by while I was headed out of town. I checked the yelp reviews and found that they got 4 1/2 stars, and they had some great comments about their food. If you long for simpler times or you made a difference , and didn't just have to order off a menu then you will love Andy's. I know I did. read more

A great treat! Do yourself a favor and order the steak pocket! It's my new favorite way to order a cheese steak. Nothing like filling a pita with shaved steak, mayo and melted cheese to make my day. Wash it down with a soda and some fries. You can tell this is THE local hot spot as you can see the line of work trucks during lunch. I hear their burgers are also excellent. Located on the edge of an industrial area, Andy's is it a hidden gem that sadly many will drive by without a second glance. I opted to go with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich you, truly a winning choice. My only regret was that I did not make it a combination lunch as the onion rings looked incredible. I will try them next time and there will definitely be a next time. For just over seven dollars, tax included, they gave you a lot of sandwich for the money. There was a noticeable weight to the bag they handed me. And on top of quantity, there was definitely quality. This is the kind of sandwich that when you want a sandwich is what you want. Service was extremely friendly, another huge plus. I saw them bringing out a hamburger while I waited and the burger look pretty good. I was also interested in the pastrami and swiss I would definitely recommend here. I look forward to my next trip to Jacksonville and odds are I will be stopping here. read more

Normally I can never get over here before they close. I'm usually a late lunch and late dinner kind of Yelper. However, after reading Naomi B.'s thoroughly informative and well written review complete with food visuals and menu pics, I made it my mission to finally get over there before they closed...and I have no regrets. Naomi B. knows what's good and I trust that. Truth. I went with the intention: Order the Reuben and save half for the boyfriend. And before I realized it, I had eaten the whole sandwich. It was so good. Really delicious. If you like Reubens, I highly recommend ordering this one if you're craving it. Perfect meat-to-bread ratio [I prefer mine with less meat than most] and it was nice and juicy from the sauerkraut and special sauce. It was $5.75 and worth every penny and calorie. The patrons were super nice to allow me to photogragh their food since I went solo and wanted to show other Yelpers what the regulars were ordering. And I, too, saw a lot of pita pocket-style sandwiches being served and ordered to-go. Must be good. Overall, I had a great experience and feel that this is how a real diner should be run. The efficient, friendly service, variety of offerings and solid food obviously keeps customers coming back. Just a simple game plan well executed. Andy's is a family owned fast food/takeout joint located at the beginning of an industrial district on Lane Avenue, serving up breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Considering the continuous hustle and bustle of eager patrons frequenting this establishment, you would think there would be a ton of reviews here to leaf through, instead of the scattered few. So I'm here to to pitch in, do my part, and give the Yelp masses my personal eyewitness account of an Andy's Sandwich Shoppe dining experience. The Vibe: Ultra chic foodie paradise this is NOT. Tables, chairs, and some booths, with red and yellow theme colors. Not much to note beyond that. Take time to read the extensive overhead menu in it's entirety before you step to the counter, along with the numerous signs on the back wall with different specials, because there's a lot to take in. The man (owner?) at the register will take your order, then your payment, and give you a receipt with a number on it. Don't be shy if you have a question about anything on the menu. The man is more than happy to provide the 411. A small army of staff works in the open kitchen like a well-oiled machine to prepare everything to order, meaning you get your food fast AND fresh. Not a heat lamp in sight, and that's always a beautiful thing. The Chow: I've been here a few times, twice with my better half, Faith, along for the journey, and I must say that I have yet to find something that I don't particularly care for. The simply divine pastrami and swiss on white bread is my top sandwich pick for lunch, though the majority of the clientele seem to favor the "in a sack" offerings. Maybe one day I'll give in and try one, especially that camel rider thing everyone talks about. Maybe. For breakfast, I enthusiastically recommend the Tater Special. Eggs, choice of meat (I got bacon....of courssssse), hash browns, cheese, and either mayo, mustard, or both, all stuffed into a warm fluffy pita. It's huuuuge. I almost didn't finish. Almost. It was too good not to power through and savor those last bites. Winningggg. And So: GO HERE. Eat here. Yes, it's a little out of the way, but it's well worth the trip. It's not fancy, it's just fast, fresh, and GOOD. No, it's not a chain, it's family owned and a staple in the community and that's a huge plus. I came across Andy s after a recommendation by a coworker. I used them for a large breakfast order to feed my drivers. Everyone loved the food. The service was excellent.
