Got stopped in Home Depot for a $25 AC tuneup. The first date was cancelled. The second date the tech came out and was professional. Where the wheels fell off was the absolutely ridiculous protocol of paying $25. There were so many waivers and forms to sign for Home Depot, then there were pages to be filled out just for the measly little check. It took the tech longer to do the paperwork than the tuneup. They asked me every question short of my weight and the name of my 3rd grade teacher. What a waste of time for me and this young man. Do not go for this promotion. Pay for the service without the Home Depot "deal"...if your time or privacy is valuable. read more

We lost our AC unit during a hot summer evening and called Andy Statewide for emergency after-hours service. They gave us a service window of 6-10 p.m. and assured us someone would come out to help. Nobody ever showed. Nobody ever called. At 9:45 p.m., we called to confirm someone was still coming. We were told a technician would call us within 15-30 minutes. That never happened. We waited all night with no air conditioning and no communication. Our house sat at 82° overnight, and we were left completely in the dark by this company. For an emergency HVAC company, this level of unreliability is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor - call someone else. Andy's is currently using my fantastic review as their " most relevant". It is concerning how wonderful an employee was. Well, I pay Andys $20 a month where an a/c check in spring and a heating check in fall is included. I realize today that they never called me for my spring a/c check. I call them and they can come for my spring a/c check in August!!!!! What?! First, you don't call me and now you can come the end of summer? Not acceptable. Andy's should be ashamed. Five years ago I inherited a family members home and they'd been using Andy's for the prior 10-15 years so I continued to do so. Over the last couple of years there's been nothing but issues with the operations side of things. If techs cancel or show up well after the appointment window and you're off doing the stuff you put off waiting for them nobody calls to reschedule. There was a fall season where the tech canceled and I couldn't get anyone to call me back to reschedule. Or the time when they came to check the furnace and AC but a lightening storm came which required postponement of the AC tune up. Again no call back. Recently they tried to reschedule my appointment to July because a coupon I didn't know I was using expired. I'd already waited five weeks for the appointment and took the day. As a homeowner I can't count on them to provide the service they're advertising. Which is a shame. purchased a whole home generator from Andy's, and has had nothing but trouble. Called on April 15 during the last storm that knocked out power and the generator did not kick on was told someone would contact me, they even read my name and address back to me. no one called me back and the generator still doesn't work. The ability to come out immediately was wonderful and the technicians were great...I have no issues with any of that; what I do have an issue with is the costs associated with addressing the problem. I'm not even talking about the diagnostic charge or the fact that the part was under warranty. I'm speaking of the labor cost (estimated to be $499) to replace control board. Well I see Andy statewide hasn't learned anything in 14 years. Had Andy's install a Mitsubishi heat pump through home Depot 14 years ago. After they installed it I had to go back and redo a few things I had a plumbing company for 40 years. First they ran the drain line in plastic and it had to make a 90 in the wall which completely pinched it off and the service guy said that after the weather got warmed up it would unfold.. right. Next the outside condenser unit was leveled right to left but was leaning back against my house about 3 in. The inspector said they only look for right to left level not front to back. After I redid it so it was level water drained out of the condensate unit for probably 5 minutes that would have been a nice rust hole. Then I told them when they put the outside lines against my house since I had stucco not to do self tapping screws cuz it'll crack but they didn't now I got little cracks. Fast forward 14 years I've always done the maintenance. The last couple years the heat and cool has become less effective I gather I have a small leak the unit is still an excellent shape. Call made an appointment in the next day the office lady calls me having too much of a good time telling me that since I didn't buy the unit from them they don't service it. I had to tell her that you guys installed at 14 years ago then I got hung up on called back what a joke. Took a look at the reviews 80% or negative so I called and canceled I'm done. I gather in 14 years they haven't learned anything still a POS company in my opinion. Goodbye POS Andy statewide. I'm going to bad my view every chance I get cuz you can't sue me for my opinion. Having my heating fixed was lovely, but that isn't why I am going a little review crazy either. I wanted to take a moment to really highlight the technician that came to my house, Khaled Al Haraz, as he was awesome. He took care of the issue, but was very kind and personable as well, and just based on my interaction with him, I will absolutely reach out to Andy's Statewide for any future air conditioning and heating needs. I wish I could go less than one star. Our existing 2 ton AC wasn't enough to keep out 2nd floor condo cool so we called about getting a 2 1/2 ton. Salesman was here for a half hour on a Friday, agreed on the 2 1/2 ton and said we also needed a new coil and blower to handle the bigger AC unit. The paper I signed spells that all out, "Rheem 2 1/2 ton, 13.5 seer air system". Even went with a new furnace because the old was getting up in age. Monday the installers showed up, and said the condenser they brought wouldn't fit in the place for it outside. So they needed to come back with a smaller one, a Lennox unit. I double checked with them that it would be the same 2 1/2 ton, 13.5 seer unit. They assured me that it was. Tuesday they came back and installed everything. When they left, they gave us the "installation instruction" booklets for what they installed. And said the actual receipts would come in the mail. When our condo never got cool, we googled the part numbers, and called Lenox. Only to find out they installed a 2 ton. Friday, we had a supervisor out. He had a list of things that went wrong on how that "mistake" could happen and said they will be out the following Wednesday to install the correct products. He told me that the original salesman wrote down part numbers for a 2 ton unit all while telling us they would install a 2 1/2 ton. He also said someone named Robin would call us to talk about any sort of refund or discount for our "troubles". And we're still waiting on that call. If we had not called Lennox to ask them about the unit's size, I have no idea when, or if, we would have caught their lie. Update: I figure I should update. They came back the next week and installed what they originally said we were selling us. Their excuse for the mistake was that I should have double checked the part numbers (the part numbers that they didn't show me until after they installed), because I shouldn't trust that they were doing their job correctly. They gave a tiny discount, a couple percent off. Not nearly worth all the time I had to take off work for their multiple trips out (one sales appointment, the first installation appointment, the second installation appointment, the meeting with the manager, and then the finally installation appointment). My grand daughter hurried home from school to be there from 1 to 4 Dennis the next day,Dennis came at about 2:30 and said we were suppose to wait 24 hours before he could work on the furance. He said he would be back the next day between 8 and 12. I called Dennis as soon as he left, and he confirmed he would be back the next between 8 and 12. By 11:45, no Dennis. I called the office, and Renee said that the time slot wasn't available, and they left me a message to get an appointment. She checked availability and it was 2 days later No, I sorry for the confusion, Dennis should not have told us and basically said it was our fault not to listen to our message. I went to Lowes and looked at a Mr. Heater 80,000 BTU garage heater, Lowes price is $549.99 which is about average. I asked if they offered installation and they told me they could set me up with a contractor that would do it. An Andy's person contacted me and promptly set me up for a free estimate. The morning of the appointment I got a call from their office to explain that they would NOT install a Mr. Heater but would install a comparable Modine model, and complete package price would start at $7,900 installed. I looked at the Modine specs and although more efficient than the Mr. Heater, the average price for the Modine unit alone is $2,800. So that means Andy's was charging over $5,000 to install a heater that was going to require less than 5 feet of chimney stack and a 30 foot gas run. I found a local contractor that installed the Mr. Heater Big Maxx 80,000 BTU for $1,200, and purchased the heater from Lowes for $549.99 + tax. Total investment less than $2,000 versus Andy's $7,900. Received email for $69 tuneup from Andy's. I needed to get inspection at a rental property so figured I would try Andy's statewide. I called and they said it would be $90 just because it is a rental. Just a simple regular house furnace and I will be there, but they need to make extra money on me - the tone of the lady I called left a real bad taste in my mouth. After reading the reviews on yelp, I see many other complaints of price gouging in the marking up of parts and services well beyond what is expected. They were upfront with me that they wanted to charge me $90 for the $69 advertised service, so I didn't use them. I do wish they would stop spamming my email almost every day with bait and switch offers that they don't accept when you call for the service. read more

Update on previous review from 2022. When person came to fix holes in wall made by installer, he reviewed the work and indicated chimney wall was never installed, vent on furnace should not have been placed there, pipe allowing air to directly escape from the furnace should have been capped. One of the two original installers returned to fix everything but only because of the findings of person who thankfully noticed their sloppy/undone workmanship. They offer to perform a/c maintenance (through Home Depot) for cheap rate and convince customer they're in need of some expensive repair e.g., new capacitor $300, freon at $300 for 1 lb. or a new unit, $8500. Requested estimate to replace a/c unit, and, price quoted (by different salesperson) was twice the amount a relative was quoted for exact same unit. Contacted another Company for 2nd opinion who performed maintenance and assured me, "capacitor was operating properly, freon was at capacity, a/c unit did not require any parts or replacement. read more

Came out pronto in fact, I felt very rushed uncomfortable to install a new furnace and a couple heat pumps left before completing the job. Numerous phone calls. One supervisor came out noticed more things that were wrong. Offered an appointment sometime in January. This was from the end of November Now they're demanding $19,000 for an incomplete job. A/C unit went out, Andy's Statewide came out within 4 days of calling. Employee came out, stated the furnace and a/c unit needed to be replaced. Furnace is 12 years old and has been working fine. I refused replacement. Employee then asked, "Do you make your own decisions?" I am a home owner and a physician (however I am a woman), so YES I am capable of making my own decisions. Employee stated, "well I can fix your A/C unit but I cannot guarantee it will run once I leave this house". Employee (Zeek) emailed me the bill. Charge for fixing A/C was $557 and he added $240 for a service plan. Employee never mentioned service plan, asked if I wanted one or told me about a service plan option. I called company 3 times and finally spoke to woman who credited back $240. This left me believing this company charges people for items not spoken about, in hopes they don't notice and pay their bill. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anyone. 1st they installed the wrong furnace. Then they're electrical work almost burned my house down. If my house wasn't made of brick it would have. The final straw was yesterday when they came out for repair. They lied about the extended coverage and then told me i needed a new furnace, when I refused the new furnace, they wanted to charge me $1035.00 for a presser sensor, and that was with a 15% discount. I was taken advantage of when my ac was broke and they sent a repairman who was actually a sales representative to fix the ac. Even after begging for a repair given that weather was in high 80s, he said there was no way to fix it. He said all the right things a salesman would say and made be believe there was nothing I could do but buy a new ac. Tried to sell me a $16974 furnace and ac, with a measly $3974 discount. Got a more trusted repairman who replaced the capacitor and cleaned the coils, costed me $125. AC is now functioning perfectly. I am very upset we had to go with my daughter and spend the night somewhere else due to Andy's sending an incompetent repairman or scamming me by trying to take advantage of the situation, with the temperature being close to 90 degrees Everyone else I have called, have estimated under 10K for a replacement furnace and AC. I begged him to find a solution, but the issue was he refused to repair the AC and lied saying it wasn't repairable, and then without my knowledge disconnected my AC (which had been running, just not blowing cool air). If he did his job and looked in the AC unit he would have seen the capacitor needed replacement. Or he did see and choose to commit fraud. I was guaranteed by a manager the next day I would not be charged for anything as well. Somehow this "repairman" took my credit card information and charged my Lowes card $6,500. I DID NOT authorize this. I DID NOT give him my credit card information. I was guaranteed by manager that I would not be charged, and I received no HVAC system to be charged this amount. I was told this after reporting this amount as fraud, that it was done by ARS also known as Andy's Statewide. I will be updating the Officer in charge of this case and requesting criminal charges to be pursued. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. read more

We made an appointment at our local home depot (canton mi ave) after the gentleman caught us in the aisle for a tune up for our ac and furnace. We cancelled our other appt with another company. Big mistake! Today is the day of our appt. and they called at 12 to inform us they were cancelling our appt because of the heat wave and other people making appts!? The women also said this isnt how we do business.. well it is if it is happening! It wouldnt be such a big deal had we not cancelled our other appt. and re arranged our schedules to be home for it since we work in and out of town while getting our new to us home ready to move in. Not H. I agree with you that Andy's Statewide DOES take advantage from customers. I have a small furnace that needs to replace the gas valve. I was charged $913.00. I found later on that the cost of valve is about $200. It took him about 30 min to replace. So, the labor rate is around $1400/hr. Here is how they take the advantage. They quoted me a service call of $99, and don't provide the labor rate. They told me the $99 will be included in the repair quote after the diagnosis. I was quoted $913.00, but they didn't provide the materials cost and labor rate EVEN I ASKED. I was trapped because I don't have back up. I have to stay with him considering it may take additional 2 days to find other company. I will NOT recommend this company. I suggestion to understand how they charge and labor rate before making appointment. read more

On May 23,2023, your technician came out to do a maintenance check on my ac. He cleaned the unit, took covers off, and tested it. He told me that it tested 29 instead of the 30 something. He said I could try to repair it but would most likely not get much time as the ac is old. Never gave me a repair estimate, only a replacement one. Something I told him I wasn't financially ready for at that time. Almost two months later and my ac quit. I called another company to service it. This technician determined that the compressor was locked up because of a bad capacitor. His 30+ year professional opinion, the capacitor should have been replaced back in May when it was registering 29 instead of the 35. Your technician's desire to sell a new unit has cost my family stress and expense that we should not be expected to incur. read more

Had a technician come out yesterday. Said the heat exchanger was bad as well as blower shaft was loose. Then he said we should probably replace the whole unit and that a sales person could be out within the hour. Had the HVAC company that is associated with our home warrant come out today and he said that technician was completely wrong. Furnace was operating as it should be. This second technician could have said yes it needs to be replaced and I would not have been the wiser. But he was honest. Do not use this company. They sent a specialist out today from Andy's to take another look at things. Very professional and knowledgable. The specialist took the entire unit apart and showed me where the cracks are in the exchanger. All for no cost. I rescind the comments I made above and truly appreciate Andy's follow up. Had a furnace installed in 2020. There's a 5 years parts warranty. Recently the AC stopped working (on July 4th hottest day of the year) with a 41 week pregnant wife to top it off. They did come the next day to diagnose the problem. That was 109 dollars. They said they would be back to fix it the next day. Never showed or called. So I had to call them and they told me that it would take another day to fix. So 2 days later of 90 degree heat they finally showed up with the part to fix. It ook the technician 15 mins to install. They charged my wife 312 dollars. I called to check what the charges were because the part was covered under the warranty. The lady said to come out again and for paper work to get the part. Devon, the electrician, replaced our service box and was pleasant, helpful and very concerned with quality work and fast service. The heating and HVAC system was installed in the cold months so the the ac operation could not be checked. The tec was to come in the summer to check it out. They did check it. Before the season was over there was a problem with the ac. A tech came out and checked the ac system and found it was leaking. The tech said it was the a-coil. The labor portion on the new system was now up. We were charged $700+ for the repair. Since that repair the ac makes a noise at the furnace in the basement that can be heard all over the house. A tech did come out and could not duplicate the noise at that time. He stated he would make a note that they would come back when the weather was warmer and fix it. The note was never recorded. Now they want to charge to come back out. The owner commented that I should call Robin there quality assurance Mgr. I have called 3 times. It does not ring but go's direct to voice mail. Left message with my info a week ago. No response from Robin. No quality in that. read more

They are big, can get needed things from their network, and are very efficient. Not too long after, my water heater went. That was just as well done as my furnace. Pre-sales process was fine, and so far the furnace is working, although that's pretty much where the good news ends. Came into contact with this company (as other have) from a Home Depot promotion. The installation was done haphazardly. The installers, made a mess of the furnace area, destroyed the casing for my electronic air cleaner, left debris all over the place. Very sloppy caulk work, PVC compound dripped all over the place, bits of wire, wood chips, pipe pieces on the floor. The NEW outlet box mounted on the furnace was held in place with ONE SCREW! I had to add more screws myself to better secure it. Have called several times about the $750 Home Depot gift card we were supposed to receive months ago, and other than some story about an "admin problem" where a wrong part number was entered, we still haven't received our $750. We also CANNOT get a straight answer on whether or not the requisite paperwork was summited for our tax and utility rebates for the new furnace. So far the only saving grace is that the equipment they installed seems to actually be working. Other than that I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this company. read more
