During the recent heat wave our A/C failed where we needed an emergency repair. Checked multiple contractors throughout the area and were told across the board that we would have to wait until the following week to get anyone out to our house due to the high number of backlogged calls until we contacted Krane who sent a technician out the next morning. The technician was super friendly and courteous and diagnosed our problem in just a couple of minutes and fixed the issue in 5 minutes by replacing a faulty capacitor. Service aside which was great, the repair cost $215 for literally 10 minutes worth of work. At the time I was told the capacitor cost $115 and felt like I got taken to the cleaners a little bit but was OK at the time thinking that I paid a bit of a premium to fix the issue with labor at $100. However my issue was after the fact when I checked the price of the old capacitor which I kept and found it was a $13 part on Amazon. At that point I felt like I had been taken advantage of. Looking ahead, I have bought two back up capacitors on line and will fix it my self the next time. Relative to Kranes though I would definately recommend getting competitive quotes before they arrive and if possible check the price of the part on line once they quote the repair. Hopefully your failure will not be during a heat spell like ours was where you find yourself ever a barrel needing help with little or no options. read more

Jeff and Mike communicated their arrival time as described and at the time I was expecting. Where needed, floor coverings were used without request and work began efficiently. The new furnace is working quietly and the area was left cleaner then before, not that it was messy, The unit uses less ducting material so I was left with more room in the utility room than before. This company is truly as advertised. Absolutely amazing. They don't forget about customers after an instillation. We have had a very cold winter and my furnace stopped working twice. I have had to call a few times and always on the weekend. I was always able to speak to an actual person and my calls were answered promptly. They are so knowledgeable to the point that they were able to walk me through fixing (what I thought was a major problem and wasn't) myself at no cost to me! I recommend this company to all my friends, family, and co-workers. Would never use -furnavce out krane came out and said furnace heat exchanger cracked. Had only been there a few minutes and had done no tests, etc. Said furnace to old & heat exchanger not available. Gave receipt for $89 service call with proposal stating need new furnance, cracked heat exchanger. Decided should get other opinion. Had furnace torn apart and entire heat exchanger assembly removed and taken to be inspected by 2 experts (one licensed hvac company and one actual manufacturer engineer) and guess what - NO cracked heat exchanger. Also, with quick web search found multiple local companies that had the heat exchangers in stock. Could not be more disappointed and unimpressed, all appears to be a scam to get about $5000 worth of work. read more

Noticed the house was not getting warmer during the evening hours the night before thanksgiving, so decided to wait till the morning and give them a call. Called them as soon as possible in the morning. They were friendly, and promised to have their service person give us a call as soon as he was done with his current call. Received a call within the hour, and he arrived within short order after that. Darryl was friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, and got right to work. He quickly found the problem, ran a quick test to verify that his solution was working. He replaced the broken part within a few minutes, which he had with him. He was onsite for less than half an hour. He offered advice on our current system(which was 20 years old), made a few recommendations. No hard sell, no pushing a new system, just professional advice. Darryl came out the day after I made a call to look at our air conditioner. Since we had a unique unit he had to call the service guy to come take a look before he gave us an estimate. The guy came out the same day and had to call to see if he could get a part. Darryl called us two different occasions to assure us they hadn't forgotten us and was so kind when finally quoting us. They were the only company able to install so quickly and they didn't go over the quote even though they ended up having to call more servicemen out on installation day! We've used Krane twice, and both experiences were 5-star. The first time was a fast fix. The second was when our furnace was misbehaving then finally died on a cold winter night. We left Krane a message after hours and they called us back within minutes and spent a half hour on the phone to try to troubleshoot the problem in hopes it was an easy fix. It unfortunately was not. A tech was at our house by 9am the following morning to diagnose the issue. It was unfixable and they detected carbon monoxide. They shut it down and had a crew here to install a new furnace within hours. Every person we dealt with was polite, professional and courteous. And they left us with a cleaner furnace room! I'll be using Krane for regular maintenance from now on. read more

I accepted the quote and gave them $2500 as a down payment. 2 Days before starting the job, Jeff (the owner) and his head installer come out to measure it and find that Johns plan will not work. I called on Friday, July 17 for a quote. They set an appointment up for Wednesday, July 22 @ 2:00. The salesman Jeff calls me 2 hours before the appointment, stating he has to cancel the appointment because they're too busy, that they have too many customers and aren't taking any more and that he doesn't even know why they booked the appointment. I was not really thrilled with this company. There were some good points...when our heater broke late on Halloween we were able to talk to someone and get someone scheduled to come right away the next day. The guys that came were friendly and did a good job. However, the initial estimator told us that there were all these savings that according to the owner we later found not to be true. We were told there were more tax breaks to it then our accountant said there was. We tried to get them to come out to start the air conditioning unit that we put in and they stood my husband up twice, who had to rush home from work to meet them. I left them messages and they would never get back to me. They didn't seem like their office was together really and I would say that was probably my biggest complaint. Like I said though, the installers were really great but considering the other issues I had with them, I would not use them again. (Update) The owner responded on here but this was the first time I have been apologized too. I received an email from him following this review where there was never once an apology. I would like to say it again, the biggest issue was lack of contact. My husband lost time from work when they never showed up. We were fine if they had to cancel, that was totally understandable, but it was the not even bothering to call. One response when we had to track them down was "its to cold to turn on the air." This is totally reasonable, but it would have been nice to have received a call concerning this. That being said, I was to reiterate how great the service itself was from the installers. They were friendly, did a good job, were completely curteous, etc. If they could just get the front office running smoothly (and perhaps by now they have), this would be a great company. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. The servicemen are so knowledgeable, kind, courteous and friendly. I've had multiple service guys in and out of my house when my furnace broke (which they had replaced within a day) and every single one was just as friendly as the other, not to mention these guys know what they're doing, I was very impressed with their professionalism and ability to troubleshoot all the issues that came up throughout the process. From the servicemen, to the installers, the owner and especially Supervisor Brian, are real team players and such gems! I wish there were more service companies out there like this one. read more

The staff were extremely professional, polite and respectful to me and my home when they were replacing my furnace and ac which was an all day job. They were knowledgeable and friendly too. The clean-up they did of the job was perfect. They arrived on time and left as anticipated at the end of the day! I love the new unit too. REVISION on Aug 6, 2017 Received a call from the Gen. Mgr at Krane on Sunday afternoon. After telling him our story, he indicated he was going to review the situation with the repairman and refund our service call payment. Based upon this conversation, I felt we may have experienced one not-so-good repairman that impacted the company. The man I spoke to on the phone was very professional, he really cared about the situation, apologized and refunded our money so I upped my rating to 3 stars. Original Review was 1 Star: Our AC unit at our home was blowing warm air so we called Krane to give us a diagnosis. Guy came over, went and looked at the unit, came back probably 45 seconds later and said our compressor was failing. Then, that we needed a new unit for ~$4,500 and that was the fix. I went and got another estimate from a different company, they pumped in some refrigerant and it has been working fine since, blowing cold air nicely. Granted, it may fail at some point in the future but $300 fix vs. $4,500 all new unit? I would not recommend Krane at all just based upon their shady repairman that we experienced. read more

Bought a new AC unit AND furnace (month ago) from them this year. My first floor is freezing! I called to have them come out to see what the problem is. I spoke to "Jeff" who told me "I" should call THEM back in a week! I understand this may not be an emergency to them but they should at least call ME back! I've used them a few times and never had any issues. I recently called a competitor for an estimate and was completely ripped off. I called Krane and the employee was very nice and knowledgeable. He laid out all of my options for me (buying a new unit vs. repairing my old unit). He did not try to upsell me on anything. He repaired my unit and it is a working great. There prices are fair for the service they provide. More importantly, it is nice to know I can trust them to treat me with honesty. read more

Called 4 companies for service for an AC outage. First 3 blew me off with soonest appointment 3 weeks. Krane booked me in 3 or 4 business days and fixed it within 10 minutes and were gone.
