He was on site every day, actively involved in digging, grading, and overseeing the entire process. Drainage was a top priority for me, and Juan made sure everything was done right. His team installed a trench drain and carefully graded the area so water flows exactly where it should. He was always responsive, easy to communicate with, and his pricing was very fair. The project took about a week. Day 1: Digging, adding soil, and grading Day 2: Trench drain installation, more hand grading, soil compacting Day 3: Soil compaction and rebar placement Day 4: Concrete pour On pour day, his crew showed up strong, about 10 people on site by 5:30 AM, even during a heat wave. They worked efficiently to stay ahead of the curing process and used an additive in the concrete to prevent rapid water evaporation, so we didn't need to keep watering it afterward. Three days later, they returned to remove the forms, and Juan personally did a final walkthrough to check for any issues or cracks. He is very detail oriented, and his proposal was clear and straightforward with no surprises at all. He also handles concrete demolition and concrete retaining wall work. If you are looking for someone reliable and skilled, I highly recommend Juan. Juan is the king of concrete!

I would like to recommend Ivan's Masonry for your outdoor improvement projects if you are looking…read morefor outstanding craftsmanship and value for your money. We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE our raised patio that Monroe Masonry built for us!!! It turned out so well and…read moreworking with Eddie and his team was such a positive experience that even though it was almost a year ago they did the work, I just had to share. We got other bids on the project but none compared to the honest, straightforward communication we got with Eddie. We benefitted from his years of experience but also from his long-held contacts in the field. During the building process things came up like needing the footings for the posts of a pergola another contractor was going to build for us on top of the patio but he was out of the country at the time. Not a problem. Eddie had worked with him on previous projects and was able to get the footings and install them for us. Then we needed to make decisions regarding any electrical we wanted on and around the patio which needed to be encased in tubing with all the other underlayment and Eddie's electrician buddy came right away to help us so that our project didn't get delayed. We didn't work with an architect on this project. It was just me laying down a garden hose to visualize what a patio would look like and going over it with my husband. Getting the elevations right was tricky since we didn't want a railing to obstruct our view of the garden. Eddie was so helpful with this but he also has the smartest right-hand-man, I think his name is Manuel, who saved the day for me. I wanted to extend the patio out a certain way and in telling him what I envisioned he improved the design on the spot! He eliminated one of the steps transforming the design making it more seamless and elegant. A small thing and yet it was huge in the scope of things. Don't hesitate to have Monroe Masonry do your job. Your only problem might be that he'll be too booked with work when you call.

Except for the LIEN we got from the concrete pump company he used. This was after the fact of paying Edwin. It was unnecessary stress on my elderly family members. I had to get mad at Edwin for not paying his subcontractor which then affect us and our property. I would suggest to make sure he has current insurances and that all his sub contractors are paid before your final payment to him. So maybe get their phone numbers to verify first? What a terrible experience. The work was decent and is a 5 star. But the business ethic of getting his people paid and affect people's title of their property. Not ok! Zero stars for that. I don't want to hurt his business by giving just one star so I will give 3 of 5. UPDATED. REVIEW. Maybe I should lower the stars though because Edwin is saying he doesn't know anything about this which is now a bold face total lie and I'm gonna post photos of our text messages of him saying he's gonna clear it all up. Edwin, you should've just said yes you screwed up instead of trying to cover up your light now you should get less stars. Reply No, the text chain you are in that. Don't try to deny it because I can prove it if I open it up it will show your name Edwin. You'd be better off saying yeah you screwed up you're a human you're not perfect and just admit to it but now the people will see you're not honest and if you get the photo taken down since it's a real photo and a real text chain, I'm sure I can get it back up You are the contractor who holds the license who signed the project contract, who agreed to make sure everything runs smoothly and you're the one who carries supposedly Insurance for that You should actually be sued for the situation because you cause two elderly people major stress and compromise their title to the property. Shame on you.
