I opened a project for rodent proofing in Yelp. They replied to me with the price I agreed. When they showed up, they did not do the job. Instead, they tried to upsell me $17000 whole attic restoration. Honestly, if you can't keep a word do the rodent proofing as we agreed, why people trust you for a bigger project? This is not how you gain business. I end up signing up a contract with other company for the full service (rodent proofing + attic insulation replacment). They are more transparent and upfront with the price and service with no surprise. read more

He sealed them up, set traps, and explained everything clearly throughout the process. I had Terry come out to do a full inspection for wood destroying pests when I was in escrow. Nice guy. Punctual. Seemed to know what he was talking about. Then when I closed escrow I hired Terrys team to do the repairs. All they found was a little bit of wood rot around the deck and some said I needed to dig out the footings of the deck. Five footings were buried completely. Bill came to $735. They only dug out one footing and didn't even do that all the way, they just pushed some dirt to the side. The remaining 4 footings were completely buried, and one was so rotten when I had it uncovered by another company that the entire deck post had to be replaced. I spent $735 on this company to do an incomplete job in the repair. Very disappointed. After I paid this company, I hired another company who had to do the work this company didn't finish. I basically paid twice for the work because Plateau Pest did not adequately assess the damage to the deck during escrow nor did they perform adequate repairs when the time came. Highly recommend Plateau Pest Solutions - We had a very unexpected Flea infestation after coming back from vacation and they were a total godsend. Their prices are far more reasonable than any other place I spoke to, and factored into the price that our home is less than 500 sq ft. We were absolutely covered in fleas despite our pets still being at the sitters, and DIY treatments weren't doing a damn thing. Sam at the front desk is very helpful and was able to get us on the schedule quickly. Jaime was our tech and he was incredibly kind and patient. He even had to deal with my landlord who was a bit surprised that I had hired someone and there was a minor confrontation when Jaime started the outdoor portion of the treatment - but Jaime was a total gentleman and answered all my landlord's questions and addressed all his concerns with a level of calm that I did not have at the time. I noticed bees problem when tenants moved out recently and started looking pest control company. Terry was really nice to provide me a quote range just by photo so I can know how much it could be. And he mentioned if any updates just let him know so he can quote more accurately. Due to lots house repair things going on I forgot to pay attention to bees situation. I highly recommend plateau pest solution. I had rodents problem at my home. They scheduled to come out next morning. Hymen was very professional, knowledgeable and very nice. He listened carefully to the problem and asked the right questions. He set the traps and did everything needed to be done. He is checking now every couple of days for the next 2 weeks but I think the problem is already resolved from the first visit. I called to get someone to come out and give me a quote for front wood refinish of my house that would include taking care of the old termite damage that was treated in the past. Talked to a nice lady on Wednesday Feb 16 4pm who told me that she's too busy at that time, but that someone would contact me by tomorrow. Nobody did. As my job will be more of a building contractor to upgrade the wood around the front of the house than the termite control - which will still be a part of the project which will be given to a different company - I will not be using Plateau Pest Solutions. read more

I'm giving these guys 5 stars, and I haven't even paid them a cent yet. Here's why: My wife and I heard a scratching the other night we thought was a rat in our attic. We'd had a possum up there years ago, and had it trapped and the attic sealed, but as we had a new roof installed recently we thought maybe they'd opened up one of the entry points while doing their work. I had 3 inspections. First guys came out and 'confirmed' all our worst fears. Telling me that our roofer had really messed things up, several of the entry points we re-opened, and yep, we had rats living up there again. Even the new vents we had installed were bad, and small rats could go right in them. Everything would have to be re-sealed. A big job. They quoted me $1950 to re-seal everything, and trap and come back several times to get rid of all the rats. And an extra $3000 to get rid of all the insulation and replace it. $4950 is what it would all cost. I thought that was kind of a lot, so got a 2nd inspection. The second guy again blamed the roofers. Pointed out potential entry points (though they said the new vents were fine, as they are rat proofed from the inside, totally contradicting the first guy.) This 2nd estimate: $1200 to reseal everything again and trap the rats, (that was after subtracting a $360 'discount!' for something I still can't understand). FORTUNATELY, I got a third estimate from PLATEAU PEST SOLUTIONS...$350 bucks to trap and exclude. I couldn't believe it. I was even a little suspicious. They also changed my appointment time, and after reading that 1 star review, I was getting nervous. But this morning, Jaime, the Plateau Pest Inspector showed up, bright and early. And he went over our house from top to bottom, climbed all over the roof to inspect every potential entry point, took his ladder around, climbed walls, peeked into scary areas with flashlights, and he found...NO UNSCREENED ENTRY POINTS AT ALL. In fact, he showed me that ALL the possible places the other inspectors had CLAIMED were entry points were, in fact, still well sealed from the previous work we had done years ago. I saw with my own eyes how they were either metal screened or foam sealed. There were NO apparent holes into the attic at all and actually NO SIGN OF ANY CURRENT RAT INFESTATION. Jaime even complimented us on the quality job our roofer had done, assured us that they hadn't broken any of the seals. And that the new vents we had installed were top quality, and were designed to keep rats out. In fact, he doesn't believe that there are any rodents currently living in our attic at all! And thinks that what we heard was probably a rodent scratching the new shingles ON TOP of our roof, and NOT inside it. But just to be sure, Jaime sprinkled some harmless powder inside the attic, so we can check for rodent footprints...and he set a trap inside the attic as well, to make certain there is nothing up there. And he didn't charge me anything for the inspection or these initial traps, as he believes our attic is already well sealed, and said he wouldn't charge us for work we didn't need. Obviously the original estimators were either really bad at their job, or, more likely, were blatantly attempt to cheat me. They specifically pointed out holes and vents that were in fact already sealed. And marked up their price according to my neighborhood. Fortunately, I'm not that stupid. And even more fortunately I called PLATEAU PEST SOLUTIONS. Terry (the owner) and Jaime (the inspector) at Plateau Pest not only earned my trust. They literally saved me a thousand dollars!! I GIVE THEM MY HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION! So nice to find good, honest people who work hard and clearly know what they're doing. Thank's again, guys!! read more

He set traps, and a within a short period, he or another Technician came back out to my house to collect the dead rats and re-set the traps. Problem solved!
