My friend and I went for a pedicure a few months ago and they did a great job. the second time we went it was not well done and cotton from the cotton balls kept getting stuck in the nail polish and the nail tech got the polish all around the nail and on my cuticle. she tried fixing it a few times but honestly, it would have been better just to start over. Looking for a salon after recently moving to Colorado, sadly I tried Angel Nails on Youngfield Street, Golden.... because it was near home. I didn't get the name of the technician because she didn't speak much English and avoided the question when I asked (not a good sign) but it's clear now why she may not have been willing to share that information. I went in for a pedicure, paid for the upgraded service and staggered out of the salon in pain, one of my toes bleeding from her yanking on cuticle and pulling it all the way up the side of my toe! When it started I flinched, she pressed my foot down and suddenly her English got better and she said, "still... I have to do this," and yanked! Geeze louse, don't ya just love paying someone to give you pain! I said, "no, actually you don't have to yank my cuticles off and don't do that to the other foot even if you feel it needs it!" She didn't, thank god. I've been having pedicures a long time, am specific when I ask for "short, clean pedicure" and I love red polish so that's easy too. She never cleaned under the nails which I specifically asked for, didn't cut or file them much and the polish has starting chipping off pretty quickly.... rare for me. Parking is easy in an empty lot, there's a reason there are no people inside the shop. Brutal experience, one that I'm not going to repeat. Sorry Angel Nails. read more

I have been going to Angel nails since I was 12 years old- decades ago. I moved out of Applewood a couple years ago, and went back to Angel Nails a couple weeks ago for the first time since i moved, and I was so disappointed. I asked to have my gel polish removed and changed with just a shiny buff. The woman who did my nails was not happy that I was not replacing the gel polish, and made me know it. I have never felt so uncomfortable getting my nails done. Oh, and she did a terrible job. I still have gel residue on my fingers, and they look like garbage. They have always done a great job with my manicure, pedicures and facial waxing! I tried another salon for a few months only because I wanted designs on my fingernails. I soon went back to Angel Nails. They have, by far, been the only ones to give me a complete pedicure. Wonderful on my summer, dry heels! All others skimp on the massage and trimmings (so I just have to go back that much sooner). I get a gel manicure every 2 1/2 weeks or so (great job with my French tips) and a pedicure every 5 weeks or so. I do recommend calling ahead, they are at certain times very busy. It is a surprise that there are not any other reviews on this place. This is the best nail salon in Boulder. You can tell by the awards on the wall from the local newspapers and magazines. Every single lady is thorough, gentle, friendly, and accurate from beginning to end. For example, my feet accumulate so much skin on the heels that every time they give me a free foot scrubber pad to take home with me. Be sure to call before hand to make sure they have time for you. It is best to get an appointment in the mornings on weekdays if possible. Alright Yelpers, here's the brutal, honest truth. I have horrible feet. My heels are always splitting and they're razor sharp. As a matter of fact, my husband refers to them as "claws". Angel Nails is the ONLY place that has masterfully buffed down the talons and kept my feel smooth. Now I can snuggle up with my husband without having to worry about scratching him. I've also had manicures and they've lasted 2-3 weeks. I love this place. Give it a shot! read more

They cut my finger badly with a nail file and my mom's tech left her with acetone on her dips and ate dinner in the back! She just sat there waiting and waiting. We started at the same time for the same service (dip removal and a new dip coat) and mine was done a good 45 minutes before hers. Also her tech answered his cell more than once and walked away talking on it and texted someone during her whole service. When we went to pay we didn't want to tip given the injury and bad service but the techs breathed down our necks and asked multiple times how we wanted to tip. It was very uncomfortable and incredibly unprofessional. I will not go back. 2 stars only because the dip lasted quite a while. read more

Worst mani pedi I've ever had. First and last time at this salon which is disappointing since I just moved into a house down the street. 3 nicked cuticles on my fingers still healing, uneven paint job...toes all cut slanted and crooked, not filed evenly. Now 2 days later and I have 2 ingrown toenails. This has never happened to me, I'm 35. The lady was nice enough, but as soon as I paid with a heavy credit card the attitude became over the top ingratiating and asking me directly about the cash tip was in poor taste. At least do a good job! The massage was nonexistent and don't cut me up! How can anyone be so bad and keep a job...? It was my fault for not speaking up...and leaving a good tip which I'm regretting now with sore hands and feet... I will spend my money elsewhere. What a disappointment. read more

My teenage daughter just loves this place! They always have openings and Sarah is so wonderfully kind and helpful! My daughter's nails always look so beautiful and the price is great! I called and made an appointment 5 hours prior to coming in, when I sat down I was rushed anyways - despite not being a walk in - yelled at constantly the entire time to "relax", and had my acrylics applied sloppily, so crookedly, and painfully. I asked for almond shape and got these wide, wonky paddles put on and when I said I didn't like it - I was yelled at some more in front of the entire store and told that I would not be refunded anything unless she cut off my nails and removed the polish. She kept pulling me towards her chair, as did a coworker even after I said I wanted no further work done. She said she would do my entire set over again in 10 minutes instead of a refund. This entire set took an hour and a half, I had no more time. I still had to pay $35 despite going home and redoing every nail myself. I will never come back here and regret ever considering them. I was embarrassed in front of an entire store full of walk-ins. My mom later expressed she's had a bad experience here as well. read more

I'm not a nail girl but my daughters are. So where do I take them? I was referred her by a client of theirs and was not disappointed. My 10 & 12 year olds were treated kindly and courteously. They wanted mani/pedi's and they were more than happy to help. They asked what cute little designs they could apply for them and tried their best to fulfill both of their wishes, butterflies, flowers, ladybugs and all! I've gotten pedicures here 4 or 5 times - they have a clean, large salon which is usually well staffed, I have only had to wait once, and then for less than 15 minutes. Located by Starbucks in the King Soopers shopping center right off I-70 at Youngfield (not in Boulder, that's a different Angel Nails). The employees are friendly and seem to care about doing a quality job. If you go here, pay with cash, but if you don't go, you'll be better off. Let me start by saying that I've gone to this salon exclusively going on 4 years now. I am reluctant to even give it one star because the last 1.5 years that I've gone in, I've noticed a distinct change in the quality of service. First, it was just a bad manicure. Then, a set of acrylics turned into multiple bleeding cuticles because they couldn't keep their sanding dremmal on my nails instead of my skin. Now, their credit card reader has either been hacked, or their nail technician stole my credit card number and racked up over 100 dollars of fraudulent charges in 1 day alone. The technicians here are so friendly. I brought my 4-year-old daughter and we both got manis and pedis. Of course hers took a fraction of the time compared to mine. Karen was so sweet and patient with her and basically babysat her while I finished up. I was able to relax and my daughter felt very comfortable there. Over priced for the service you get. I used to go here often and services were great. The last several times I have been in the last several months service has been horrible. The nail tech cut my fingers enough to draw blood ! NOT even a sorry was uttered for my pain, intend a rather nasty stare from the tech about her cutting me. WOW, you hurt me & then ask for a tip, heck NO. I am all for tips for great service but I am NOT one to tip someone for inflicting pain and drawing blood. A discount should have been offered as well as a I am sorry. NEITHER happened. Needless to say I won't be back soon as this is not the kind of "quality" service I am willing to pay for. This place is beyond amazing! I had gone to another nail place a couple weeks ago and after only a couple days of having them done they were chipping and breaking. I went into Angels and they fixed a broken nail and did a rebase immediately and were very friendly and professional. They pushed me out their doors before my nails were even dry!! I have never experienced this type of selfish service before, and I will never return to "Angel" Nails again. I arrived as a walk-in at 5:45 pm; knowing they closed at 7. I asked if they had time for a mani-pedi, and they said yes. At 6:45, they were done with my nails & parked me at the light booth. Then, 5 minutes later, they said were closing & I had to leave. I told them my nails weren't dry & she said, "Oh yes they are" & sprayed something on my nails as she escorted me out at 6:50. I got in my car & 8 out of 10 nails were completely smudged. I was so done with them, I just removed the polish at home & repainted myself. Awful service. read more

Just went for a pedicure. The tech was pushing back my cuticles on my toes and the instrument had a sharp edge on it and it cut my toe badly! She then felt the instrument with her finger and realized how sharp it was and threw it away. Then they all started chattering in vietnamese with each other and it seemed to get pretty tense. I've been to this place a few times. The pedicures here are pretty good and they do take their time spending at least a half hour on the pedicure. The manicures are ok but the last couple of times I've gotten a manicure I've had to refile my nails at home to even them out. Also, I've paid extra for the shellac and it has started peeling after about a week. Another drawback is that they raised their prices by $10. That's not much but I think that they should have some sort of sign notifying people that the prices have gone up. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE... When i moved to Colorado I was nervous about finding a good nail place to go to. If anyone is like me getting your nails done can be nerve wrecking if they mess them up.. I was at ease here. After one visit they knew me by name. They get to know you and talk to you. I would listen to them talk to their regulars and the customers laughing. They were so nice to a mom that brought her daughter and 9 of her friends in for her birthday. They were very accommodating. I absolutely love them and this is the only nail place I will go to... AMAZING!!! I have already recommended them to my friends and family. We all go here and will continue to go. They are amazing with putting artificial nails on to. I bite my nails if their not done and when I went in the first time they made them look amazing even though my real nails were so short. Hands down my favorite place. I'm surprised people are giving this place such high reviews. While the people there were very friendly, I'm not impressed with this place at all. I really wanted to like it because it's so close to my house, but I don't think I'll be going back. It's dingy inside, and doesn't seem super clean. My gel manicure started peeling/chipping after 7 days, and my cuticles are a mess (getting hang nails galore). My pedicure only looked good for about a week as well. They also burnt part of my upper lip when getting waxed. I will definitely be trying somewhere else next time. read more
