The worst manicure of my life. It felt like when your baby cousin asks to practice on your nails. My usual nail place was full and I learned my lesson. I asked for an acrylic fill which was posted as $20+. She finished in 45 mins, half the time it usually takes. She kept bending my hand in awkward positions and snapping at me for not holding it there. When she free handed a French manicure with a regular nail brush i knew i was in trouble. In the end she charged $55 for the full saying it was for the medium length (almost 3x the posted amount). I learned my lesson about making an appointment with my regular shop. read more

This is so unlike me to write a review but I have to be so honest. I came in on a Saturday at about 4 o'clock and the owner asked me why did I come so late knowing I did not make an appointment but on a good note I got seated right away. I let her know that I had to wait for my daughter to take a nap in order to get out the house. I had just got my nails done two weeks before that and it was a medium gel set. I let her know I would like to get a fill and she charged me the price of a long fill and I told her I always get a medium set. Her response was " oh you crazy it grew out". I let her know that I never get Long nails . She charged me $60 for my fill + $15 because I had two broken nails ($7 dollars each to fix) + $10 because I wanted matte. That's $85 altogether just for a Medium fill. My gel pedicure was $38 coming up to be $123. Then she wanted to charge me an additional $12 because of the system that she uses for debit transactions I told her that would've been your tip I'm not going to pay that much extra. Came in for a regular pedicure and gel manicure on ungelled nails. They told me they had time. Several issues. 1) There is a $20 "regular" pedicure and a $28 "chair manicure" much further down their price list. I asked for the regular, but got the chair one. I didn't realze until much later that there was an upcharge for sitting in the massage chair, and they didn't make that clear or give me the service I'd asked for. I was charged the higher price. 2) After the pedicure, I was seated for about 15 minutes under some fans, and then with a gentleman who looked at my nails and began to work on them. Then, a walk-in came in asking about a fill. At this point, I was directed to go let my toes dry again at the drying station. I initially didn't understand, and told them I thought my toes would be dry by the time the manicure was over. As it registered that I'd been bumped for a walk-in (because I was a captive audience) the owner came over and said "Don't worry" and pointed to another manicurist who was in the middle of a service stating "Just two minutes." and "She's better anyway." 15 minutes later, that manicurist came over an said "Two more minutes," which was more like 7. 3) During my pedicure, I'd decided the dark green I'd chosen for my toes was too dark for my nails, and chose a slightly lighter shade of green. When we finaly got the the part where my nails were painted, the color that been transferred in the shuffle was an almost florescent aqua. I told the manicurist it wasn't the color I'd picked, and she suggested I go look at the swatches again. Defeated (and not wanting to risk her taking another walk in while I was up), I said the bright color was fine. The entire ordeal took about 2.25 hours. read more

I'm going to get straight into the details from my experience and I hope it helps you in your decision. Interior 5/10, due to it not having anything that makes it look like any other basic nail salon. Nail polish selection 4/10, due to the low ratio of polish to gel choices. I went in wanting a milky white polish and they only had it in gel. Service 5/10, because they were very welcoming and funny but I can sense the frustration when I didn't relax my hands and she had to keep reminding me. Also the whole service took so long because the nail tech had to keep going to assist a new tech that didn't know what they were doing and at one point there were 4 techs with one customer including my tech, I didn't have anything to do so I was not too concerned with the time. Nail job 4/10, due to it not being a great job from the nail tip application to the acrylic to the polish. I left there with nail polish on my hands and sitting under the dryer for 20 minutes my nails were not dried. Overall experience 4.5/10, because the nails were okay and I will be getting them fixed when I get back to my college town. read more

Awful spot. I still remember going in to get my nails done. Any place where I walk in and get stared at by every person in the salon but have no idea who to talk to about what I want is a bad start.... but, a lady at the front said 'What?", and beckoned me to her. I asked multiple times if they'd be able to do french tips on my shoes and then acrylic nails on my hands, and how it was my first time getting them done so what should I do? Cue them just staring, looking at one another..... then nodding. Cue this happening maybe eight times as I try to say things like "Can I get acrylic nails with french tips on them, and french tips on my toes?" Hostile silence and nodding, all that. They sit me in the chair, I try to explain to the guy working on my hands what I want. Same thing. To make a long story short, they tried to do my mani and pedi at the same time. Painful and overstimulating, not careful, hardly got anything off the bottom of my feet either. LOW effort. And the guy who handled my hands literally just soaked them in water, then painted a thin white nail on the tips of them.... I say "Is this the procedure for acrylics?" He says "What? No. No. Never asked for that. Your fault. Your fault. Next time. Your fault. Next time. Not now." And continued, expecting me to be ecstatic. I was shy back then, but I'd now curse someone out for trying to clown me like that. Plus the chick who did my brows was shady. "Long time, huh?" Folks, Skip this Joint! I went in and politely asked the main woman who handles people to enter if they were able to take a walk-in appointment right now, and she answered yes, come back in 15-minutes. Okay, so I found something to do for 15-minutes and returned. I was asked what I wanted and told the most smaller Asian lady that I wanted a gel pedicure. They told me I had to use hand sanitizer and take my temp. However, as I watched other women and one man come into the shop, not everyone had to have their temp taken or use hand sanitizer. Some of the other clients were not African America, and I'm African American. I was seated in a chair and had to ask the woman to turn on the massage in the chair more than once. As I looked at the colors, I was given the 'Gel' colors because I asked for a 'Gel' Manicure, Right? Right. After the initial cutting of my nails and prep, I asked the little lady for an orange polish; the lady clinician next to the one assisting me got me the polish that I requested, more than one time, so I could look at it. When it was time for my polish, I asked why she did not put on the clear before the polish. She said it would stay longer. She regularly polished my toes, even after requesting a gel pedicure. She did not use a base coat. She said she did the gel polish differently because it stayed on the toes longer, so she says. No. The little lady proceeded with regular polish; I was exhausted and under a time crunch to get out of there by now. That's why I did not take the time to explain again that I wanted a gel polish. When my nails were finally painted, she escorted me to the front to let my nails dry under the fan because she had not done a gel! She then asked if I would pay with cash? I told her I was using a card, and she said it would be another $3 because I was using a card. I explained that that policy was NOT LISTED ANYWHERE IN THE SHOP. She hunched up her shoulders as if to say so what I don't care and now you're in here and received the service! Now, what are you going to do? She was irritated that I needed to see more than one color wheel and was looking for orange polish. Go somewhere else where the prices and extra fees are clearly stated, and you will get what you want. I was trying to support a local business, but not anymore. I will drive outside Oakland and find a quality location to get my nails done and pay for the service. They will not get one more cent of my money. Find another location where you will be pampered, listened to, and have your request understood and respected. I do not mind spending money on a mani/pedi but at least understand my request and post your fees. Don't catch someone up short at the end of the Service and gouge out another $3-$7 bucks out of the service. Bad business ethic, selective pricing, and not good customer service. They were rude, seemed irritated that I needed to look at a number of colors, and the customer service was horrible. Go somewhere else where you will be respected and where there are no hidden fees, and where you will be treated well. This is not the place. read more

Racist salon - Don't spend your money here. Standing by the door that I had to be buzzed into waiting for a nail appointment for over 30 minutes, 4 young black girls attempted to come into the salon to wait for their aunt who was getting a pedicure. The woman that buzzed them in then proceeded to stand in their way and tell them they couldn't come in to wait for their aunt who was almost done with her pedicure. The girls were finally able to come in and sit down momentarily, until the rude woman working at the salon proceeded to kick them out after they were sitting quietly for only a few minutes. I went to this nail salon yesterday to get a pedi and my nails done with the shellac polish. I got my pedi and the lady proceeded to do my nails. I had black hair dye on and under my nails which common sense will tell you they needed to be clean. This dumb lady started buffing my nails and i said to her are you going to clean my nails and she said you dont need it. While the staff is very kind and attentive to their services, be ready for extra fees to add up. I came in for a fill. As advertised on their window, I expected to pay $25 plus an extra $14 for 2 nails that needed extra attention ($7 per nail). When I sat down and they looked at my nails, they asked me if the acrylics were from them, I said no. They told me that the fill would be $60 plus $7 per nail to repair. I needed them done before a trip so I continued with my service. The total was $74... I didn't bring cash (my fault of course), so they charged 10%. Brought my total up to $81... and I tipped $10 because the man doing my nails was very kind. Almost $100 for a fill is ridiculous. When I asked if $60 was the normal cost of fill they said it's that price because they filed down my nails. I came back two days later because my nail broke. It used to cost $7 per nail, but when I got charged at the register, they said it would be $10 because my nails were so long. I will not be returning. Pricing is simply unpredictable. read more

So incredibly rude and overpriced. I don't usually give negative reviews but I have really never encountered such a level of unprofessionalism at a nail salon in my life. I didn't even get my nails done - I just had to walk out. I said I wanted a gel manicure and regular pedicure, and they had me sit down in the spa chair and wait for about 20 minutes. When someone finally came to start on my nails, one of the women walked over and told me what I wanted would be $65! She said my pedicure & manicure would be $35, plus $5 to remove the gel on my fingernails, PLUS another $25 to paint gel back on my nails! Of all of the years I have been getting gel manicures, I have never in my life heard of a nail shop charging for the manicure on top of the gel removal and painting my nails. That meant that total, they wanted about $42 just for a gel manicure (since the pedicure was only $23). This is for my natural nails, no acrylic, no designs or anything. When I said I have never been asked to pay that much, the woman just shrugged and was like, "Oh well, that's how much we charge" with a very rude attitude. So I said that I wanted to leave. Then, when I got up to go, the man working there literally GRABBED ME as I was getting out of the chair so that he could lift the armrest. I had plenty of room to get out of the chair without lifting the armrest, yet he grabbed me and physical pushed me back on the chair. Honestly, these people are lucky I'm just leaving a negative Yelp review instead of taking it further. This is the WORST experience I have ever had at a nail shop. STAY AWAY. read more

The pedicure was fantastic. The chair was really relaxing and the lady did a wonderful job with massaging my feet and painting my toes, etc. For the manicure I got gel polish. It was my first time getting gel polish and I didn't know that I could get acrylic and gel at the same time...because I wanted a solid, longlasting color along with a little length, but I just got regular gel polish on my natural nails instead. This owner lady says "COME BACK LATER!" no hi no nothing just "COME BACK LATER!" I say "what, why?" she says "You late! supposed to be here a 945! She took some one else now" I look at her like wtf.. IM DONE so SCREW this place. i walked .1 miles. .1!! not 1 but .1, to the very near nail salon down the street BEBE nails. 5 stars for Hellen! She is by far the best at doing nails. My nails rarely break, and I am pretty heavy handed, plus I bartend. Occasionally they might overbook Hellen and she may run a lil late, but its not very often. But she's awesome, so I think she's worth the wait. I recently started using "mood colors" and will add the "ombre" in silver sparkle. The mood gel polish changes color with your body temperature. Sometimes it ends up looking like a colorful french manicure since the tips are usually a cooler temperature than your nail bed. I recommend using the gel polish since it dries solid under the UV light. read more

They continue to follow Covid safe protocols and check temp upon entering, masked and have partitions on the spa pedicure chairs. I felt very relaxed and they did a through and awesome job! I'm pretty embarrassed that I didn't walk the hell outta this place... lord knows I had plenty of reasons to. - Signage says $25 for gel, I was quoted $40 - Opted for manicure instead... $20 instead of the shown $13 on the sign. Seemed like a bargain? - Notice nail clippings were scattered around the floor... workers were checking Facebook instead of cleaning - they charge up to $5 to use your ATM card when you pay?! - nail polish was dollar store polish... 2 hours later and my nails are already chipping Do.
