The first one I've been to was out in LA next to dodgers stadium but the fact that this one is right here in west side of Long Beach makes the difference. I am so glad to live in Southern California where there are one million good options for affordable, filling, and quality Mexican food.  I got the Loaded Baked Potato, which came with approximately 2lbs of freshly sliced al pastor, loads of fresh salsa, cheese, onions, cilantro, and tortillas. It was so much food, I literally had three separate meals out of it. I also got the Al Pastor burrito to try and that was also just stellar. If you haven't been to Angels Tacos in Long Beach yet, you're seriously missing out. Their al pastor tacos are next level, super moist, packed with flavor, and the little slice of pineapple on top adds the perfect touch of sweetness that just takes it over the top. What really makes them stand out though? The handmade tortillas. You can taste the difference, soft, fresh, and they hold everything together perfectly. I will say, the guacamole wasn't my favorite. It's a little different here compared to other Angels Tacos locations for some reason, just didn't hit the same. But honestly, everything else more than made up for it. so delicious! I would definitely go back to angel's tacos again I will say, it is a bit on the pricier side as the loaded papa was $16, however, it was HUGE. I think I made around 6-8 tacos with it plus a bunch papa & meat left over as well. Tacos are $3.25 each too but they really pack on the meat so I feel it's worth it every once in a while. I've been to this taco stand a few times now, and after finally trying every type of meat they offer, I can confidently say I love them all. The seasoning is consistently on point, and it's always satisfying to watch the tortillas being pressed and cooked fresh to order right in front of you. At $3.25 a taco, they might seem pricey for street tacos, but the portion sizes make it completely worth it. Each taco is so loaded with meat that it could easily fill 2-3 regular tortillas. My girlfriend and I usually split 5 or 6 tacos between us, and for around $16 we both leave super full and happy. As for the meats: * The carne asada is a classic and delicious. * The chicken honestly surprised me -- I usually skip chicken when it comes to Mexican food because it can be bland, but theirs is flavorful and has become one of my go-to picks. * The chorizo has a nice kick to it and is probably the messiest option, but it's worth every bite. * The al pastor is my girlfriend's favorite -- perfectly cooked, thinly sliced straight from the roasting spit, and paired with roasted pineapple. * The cabeza is tender, juicy, and easily the richest of all the options. The atmosphere definitely leans toward the classic street taco vibe. The stand is right next to a big Savers parking lot, and a lot of people end up eating against the stone wall nearby. It's pretty dark since you're just on the street with street parking only (unless you grab a spot in the Savers lot), but that adds to the casual, local charm. This stand hasn't let me down once, and as a bonus, there's sometimes a churro stand set up right next to it. Six churros for $5 is the perfect dessert after dinner, and they're fantastic when fresh. One thing to note: the taco stand is cash only, but they also accept Venmo or Zelle, which is a lifesaver for people like me who rarely carry cash. Cash or Zelle only!!! This place is amazing! Their tacos are normally $2.75 but they tend to have deals where it will be $2 per tacos. You can follow their instagram for updates on prices, locations, and hours. For this location, the hours are 4pm - midnight but you may need to give them extra time to set up and prep, so I would suggest being there at 430pm but even then, lines are beginning to form already. Topping are placed on top of the food you oder by the cook but you can also ask for it on the side and they will also prep it for you. I def enjoy this bc it is more efficient and cleaner than everyone hovering around the toppings and doing it themselves. The tortillas are made fresh and the portion sizes are huge! I get their asada and pastor and they really pack on the meats. The quesoburrito ($12.50) is my favorite and I will def go back for it again! read more

Came here on a late Saturday night and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. Long Beach has had a major influx of TJ style taco stands, and from what I've heard Angel's is a pretty legit chain of taco setups throughout the LA county area. They have a convenient location as it's right in front of a huge plaza where most of the stuff is closed by night time, so you should have no problem finding parking. The staff were super nice and friendly. Prices are pretty good considering how much meat you get on the tacos--they don't skimp out! One of the things that makes this place stand out is they have fresh Al Pastor tacos (complete with the pineapple!) and they load it up with salsas and sauces ala TJ style tacos. I also had one of their keto tacos which was super yummy and cheesy, just keep in mind you'll need a lot of napkins! They have a wide variety of meats and they were all delicious so you can't really go wrong. My only caveat is just to make sure you're comfortable being on the Westside of Long Beach (although, it's not that deep in!). Definitely will have to come back here for tacos on another late night. read more

Los Angeles and street tacos are synonymous. Angel's TJ Tacos is probably the best and most famous taco street vendors. We are lucky to have an extension of Angel's in front of this grocery store in Long Beach. Their asada is good as you get a nice charcoal flavor, but it's their al pastor that is really nice as it's cut directly off the spit. I like to splurge by spending an extra $1 per taco for a quesotaco with the cheese fried into the tortilla. If you're really hungry, you should get a papa loca (translation: crazy potato), which is crazy because of how much they stuff into it. With the amount of meat and fixings they stuff into the potato my wife and I were able to get a few meals out of this by eating it in some tortillas. I have been waiting to try Angels Tijuana Tacos, first visit was five stars al pastor tacos from the spit were very good nice flavor and perfectly charred. Also tried asada, chorizo, and cabeza. Asada was a bit salty the others were good. This review is for the follow up since the location is convenient near the 710 freeway decided to get some tacos and picked up some al pastor unfortunately these were inedible due to the saltiness, quite disappointed since the first time this flavor was a hit with my son and I. At first bite tasted the saltiness, short moment later my son hands me back the plate and mentions the saltiness, being frequent taco stand patrons he knows his "red meat tacos". Friendly staff and efficient service. I don't know if I'll be back but hopefully this was a one off with the seasoning. Consistency is key in my opinion and this missed that mark. read more

Angel's is the go to taco stand, and I've been blessed to live by one for the past 3 years from the Eagle Rock location to Long Beach. I love trying new places, and I've tried all the nearby taco stands. No one else comes close! Everything is made fresh and by hand. The salsas, guac, pickled onions and grilled onions are always super flavorful and packs a punch. My wife and I usually go with the Al pastor potatoes and they are hefty! Decided to try this spot because I've heard lots about it and I'm a huge taco fan. I ordered pastor tacos and one asada. The tacos were a little salty for my taste, in the future I would probably get the meats in a burrito or try out the potato here just to mellow it out rather than eating it straight on a taco. This is by far the best tacos I've ever had, hands down! I found out about Angel's tacos while searching for tacos and made the trek to their Eagle Rock location. Worth the drive, everything was bomb!! I was pleasantly surprised to find out they have a location in Long Beach, CA. After finding out about the Long Beach location I am here on a weekly basis to get my taco fix. I highly recommend the queso al pastor tacos... It's heaven in your mouth. Sometimes I feel the tacos are a bit salty, however the flavor, taste and generous portion size outweighs a little salt. Give this location a shot, it maybe your next favorite go-to local Taco spot. i have been going to this tacos spot for years and it was always my most recommended place not just this location but just angel's tacos in general. the meats are amazing plus the sauces are delicious and the portions are beyond any other. unfortunately i have no idea what has happened at this specific location , recently i believe the staff was switched out ? but it was always a great group of individuals compared to those that are there now. i went over a couple weeks ago and the man that handles the main meat (salvadoran i think) had such a disgusting attitude towards the customers before me he was in a very ugly way telling them how they're suppose to ask for anything with cheese from the lady making the tortillas which in full honesty she looked like she didn't even wanna be there not once did she acknowledge anyone that showed up not once did she even asked if anyone wanted anything with cheese like the past lady used to at least say hi. later when the customers would tell her what they needed she continued to make regular tortillas while everyone was still waiting for the items they had asked for with cheese. when the customers would ask about their items since they were already moving the line she was still so careless and didn't seem to care with super super ugly attitude as if she wasn't getting paid for making the tacos. through the experience all 3 staff the tortilla lady the main meats guy and the al pastor guy were making comments and ugly remarks even the al pastor guy kept telling the guy to calm down or to chill if he was under pressure with the line which tbh i've seen it way more packed than that night (there was only 3 couples with myself there) . honestly with that man being super rude and having such ugly manners towards the customers before me i would never want to suggest this location to anyone again. mainly to anyone new that's never had these tacos who'd know how good they are and be willing to wait in a line being directed by them. when arriving home the tacos were falling apart and the tortillas tasted as if they were under cooked and mushy. please bring back the other staff or educate your new staff in manners bc they're gonna ruin your business at this location. read more
