Service: Came for Sunday brunch. Mimosas are weak and pre made. Never brought waters, got our found with no silverware. Food: horrid super cold you can tell it's pre-cooked and prob sitting around since the day before. My meat was that color where you can see the fat turn white so gross. (Chilaquiles with asada) The ambience is great and although the staff seem lost, they were very nice. Would def not be back even tho I live on the same block

This restaurant is located in downtown Long Beach and they have a parking structure nearby that you can park for free for the first 2 hours. (I didn't know until I paid for my meter parking) The only thing is that there's a bunch of different names for this restaurant, so it's really hard to find. There's a lounge connected to it that's called Agaves I think, idk the whole naming situation is super confusing. Taquitos ($12) - I really liked the presentation of the chicken taquitos and it was pretty delicious. I am usually not a big fan of beans, but they had a bean puree and it had a consistency of a thicker sauce and it was pretty good. The only thing is that the bottom of the tower got soggy from the bean puree and the taquitos weren't as crunchy. Steak Fajitas ($25) - OMG, this is a must get. For the portion they give you, it is definitely worth the money. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the veggies were so flavorful. They weren't too soggy and still had a nice texture to it. It also comes with a side of rice, beans, guac, salsa, and sour cream, however, I substituted my beans for more rice and it was a power move. You can definitely share this entree with another person. Overall, this was a solid Mexican restaurant. The inside is a bit small but they have outdoor patio seating as well. The bar was pretty cool and aesthetically pleasing and on theme. Only thing was the naming situation was so confusing cuz you can barely see 'next door'.

The food was good! Could use a little more spicy was but overall delicious. The ambiance is great! Lots of great Spanish music to fit the theme of the restaurant. Will come back.

2 x $5 happy hour tacos (super small!)

Y'ALL. This place has happy hour ALL DAY Tuesday and ALL DAY Wednesday. I repeat-- ALL DAY. This is not a drill!! I appreciated this deal for Taco Tuesday, but honestly those tacos were a bit small for my taste. The food was good, the drinks were served by attentive staff which I appreciated! They even have outdoor seating, where we brought our 30lb 5 month puppy and a 15lb poodle mix. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because we're in Southern California, and there's a lot of competition for good tacos. While I thought these were decent tasting, they didn't seem like anything to write home about, so I'm reserving a star for the truly epic food that's out there. The ambiance was pretty oriented to our location, DTLB in case you're looking for a party. But we just wanted some tacos so that didn't really apply to us.

I come to Long Beach once every three months for work and I decided to check out the Happy Hour at NextDoor (at Agaves) based on the reviews here. I passed a number of restaurants prominently displaying their happy hours along Pine on my way to this restaurant. When I got to NextDoor there was only one other party eating dinner there. The happy hour table top signs that you can see in a number of the reviews below were nowhere to be seen. I should've probably turned around and gone back to the Spanish tapas place which was very busy, but I decided I didn't want to support a colonial themed restaurant tonight so I decided to stay. I asked specifically about their happy hour. Yannin very graciously offered me a margarita for seven dollars and two carnita tacos for five. Both items were delicious. I ordered the house salad too, but it was unfortunately not as good. The spring greens mix was fresh, but it was too lightly dressed with a guava vinaigrette, that I could barely taste, and there were no apples in it as the menu described. I wondered if the chef was newish or not totally present. And then, I wondered if the space wasn't really a restaurant. Anyway, I feel terrible for not being able to leave a better review since Yannin was so kind. The decor was also festive and modern. It was just sort of weird being there all by myself.

Very nice ambiance, service was great, food was good and drinks were on point. However, $18 for a Cadillac Margarita though? That's a little too much.

I had a great lunch at this spot today, I found it on Yelp and all the food looked good so we went, Me and my boyfriend. He he got the asada steak, I got the taquitos, guacamole and 2 spicy margaritas and he had a michelada . ( jalapeño margarita and she made me a custom spicy strawberry one) all the food and drinks was 10/10!!!! My server holly was so sweet and professional! I liked her a lot. And she knows how to mix drinks that taste good. I'm so happy with the service and I'll be back!

My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant for happy hour as a break when I was moving into my apartment here in Long Beach. With such great reviews, we had to check it out. We ordered a strawberry margarita, which was delicious and strong!! They also give complimentary chips and salsa, so we definitely took advantage as we were starving. We also ordered the agave nachos with chorizo and the chicken quesadilla. While the nachos were delicious, the chips were really soggy by the end. The chicken quesadilla was so good! It had a little spice and lots of flavor. The guacamole and salsa on the side were perfect accompaniments to the spicy and cheesy quesadilla. I'll definitely come back for taco Tuesday!!

    Pre-made Michelada
    Mimi L.

Came in on Cinco de Mayo Sunday, place was very lively and extremely loud because of the dance club next door. I didn't know this Mexican restaurant, bar and dance club until now. They had a special holiday menu all day and a pre-made Michelada. I wanted my usual Modelo Michelada but our server said the pre-made one was the same. It tasted very light and refreshing but I usually prefer heavier ones. This restaurant and bar is very comfy and cozy with tall top booth seatings inside and regular booth outside. I really wanted to stay and have a few more drinks but the music was so loud to the point it was unbearable. Glad our guacamole came out fast and it was so fresh and tasty, chips and salsa were very yummy too. We were rushing to finish our one round of drinks and snack food so we could leave this unbelievably loud place! I really liked this Mexican restaurant and bar but it was a bad time to come in on Cinco de Mayo. Snack food was yummy, our server was very friendly and fast, we will be back soon for more food and drinks on a normal day!

My boyfriend and I paid 20$ each to get in. I bought a drink and immediately got in line for the bathroom. As soon as I got in the bathroom someone was BANGING on the door and when I got out I was assaulted by their security. I am a 5'4 135lb woman. I have a bruise/bump on my forehead and my elbow is hurt from your "security" punching me in the side of my head AND ripping my drink I just bought out of my hand after beating the shit out of me and my boyfriend and throwing us out the side door. We did nothing wrong. I reached out to the owner and I am waiting for a response.

Service = great! Music = poppin'! Went in a Friday night but didn't have to wait long for a table! It was around 930pm. The dancing started a bit later and that's when the crowds started coming in. The music was great, I was just dancing at my table! Only thing is I prefer my margaritas blended

Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat…read morethe atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

What an awful Tourist Trap. This is a place that once you come one, you will never return - and…read more the level of service and quality of food reflects that management knowledge. First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
