Service: Came for Sunday brunch. Mimosas are weak and pre made. Never brought waters, got our found with no silverware. Food: horrid super cold you can tell it's pre-cooked and prob sitting around since the day before. My meat was that color where you can see the fat turn white so gross. (Chilaquiles with asada) The ambience is great and although the staff seem lost, they were very nice. Would def not be back even tho I live on the same block

This restaurant is located in downtown Long Beach and they have a parking structure nearby that you can park for free for the first 2 hours. (I didn't know until I paid for my meter parking) The only thing is that there's a bunch of different names for this restaurant, so it's really hard to find. There's a lounge connected to it that's called Agaves I think, idk the whole naming situation is super confusing. Taquitos ($12) - I really liked the presentation of the chicken taquitos and it was pretty delicious. I am usually not a big fan of beans, but they had a bean puree and it had a consistency of a thicker sauce and it was pretty good. The only thing is that the bottom of the tower got soggy from the bean puree and the taquitos weren't as crunchy. Steak Fajitas ($25) - OMG, this is a must get. For the portion they give you, it is definitely worth the money. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the veggies were so flavorful. They weren't too soggy and still had a nice texture to it. It also comes with a side of rice, beans, guac, salsa, and sour cream, however, I substituted my beans for more rice and it was a power move. You can definitely share this entree with another person. Overall, this was a solid Mexican restaurant. The inside is a bit small but they have outdoor patio seating as well. The bar was pretty cool and aesthetically pleasing and on theme. Only thing was the naming situation was so confusing cuz you can barely see 'next door'.

Y'ALL. This place has happy hour ALL DAY Tuesday and ALL DAY Wednesday. I repeat-- ALL DAY. This is not a drill!! I appreciated this deal for Taco Tuesday, but honestly those tacos were a bit small for my taste. The food was good, the drinks were served by attentive staff which I appreciated! They even have outdoor seating, where we brought our 30lb 5 month puppy and a 15lb poodle mix. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because we're in Southern California, and there's a lot of competition for good tacos. While I thought these were decent tasting, they didn't seem like anything to write home about, so I'm reserving a star for the truly epic food that's out there. The ambiance was pretty oriented to our location, DTLB in case you're looking for a party. But we just wanted some tacos so that didn't really apply to us.

I come to Long Beach once every three months for work and I decided to check out the Happy Hour at NextDoor (at Agaves) based on the reviews here. I passed a number of restaurants prominently displaying their happy hours along Pine on my way to this restaurant. When I got to NextDoor there was only one other party eating dinner there. The happy hour table top signs that you can see in a number of the reviews below were nowhere to be seen. I should've probably turned around and gone back to the Spanish tapas place which was very busy, but I decided I didn't want to support a colonial themed restaurant tonight so I decided to stay. I asked specifically about their happy hour. Yannin very graciously offered me a margarita for seven dollars and two carnita tacos for five. Both items were delicious. I ordered the house salad too, but it was unfortunately not as good. The spring greens mix was fresh, but it was too lightly dressed with a guava vinaigrette, that I could barely taste, and there were no apples in it as the menu described. I wondered if the chef was newish or not totally present. And then, I wondered if the space wasn't really a restaurant. Anyway, I feel terrible for not being able to leave a better review since Yannin was so kind. The decor was also festive and modern. It was just sort of weird being there all by myself.

I had a great lunch at this spot today, I found it on Yelp and all the food looked good so we went, Me and my boyfriend. He he got the asada steak, I got the taquitos, guacamole and 2 spicy margaritas and he had a michelada . ( jalapeño margarita and she made me a custom spicy strawberry one) all the food and drinks was 10/10!!!! My server holly was so sweet and professional! I liked her a lot. And she knows how to mix drinks that taste good. I'm so happy with the service and I'll be back!

My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant for happy hour as a break when I was moving into my apartment here in Long Beach. With such great reviews, we had to check it out. We ordered a strawberry margarita, which was delicious and strong!! They also give complimentary chips and salsa, so we definitely took advantage as we were starving. We also ordered the agave nachos with chorizo and the chicken quesadilla. While the nachos were delicious, the chips were really soggy by the end. The chicken quesadilla was so good! It had a little spice and lots of flavor. The guacamole and salsa on the side were perfect accompaniments to the spicy and cheesy quesadilla. I'll definitely come back for taco Tuesday!!

Came in on Cinco de Mayo Sunday, place was very lively and extremely loud because of the dance club next door. I didn't know this Mexican restaurant, bar and dance club until now. They had a special holiday menu all day and a pre-made Michelada. I wanted my usual Modelo Michelada but our server said the pre-made one was the same. It tasted very light and refreshing but I usually prefer heavier ones. This restaurant and bar is very comfy and cozy with tall top booth seatings inside and regular booth outside. I really wanted to stay and have a few more drinks but the music was so loud to the point it was unbearable. Glad our guacamole came out fast and it was so fresh and tasty, chips and salsa were very yummy too. We were rushing to finish our one round of drinks and snack food so we could leave this unbelievably loud place! I really liked this Mexican restaurant and bar but it was a bad time to come in on Cinco de Mayo. Snack food was yummy, our server was very friendly and fast, we will be back soon for more food and drinks on a normal day!

My boyfriend and I paid 20$ each to get in. I bought a drink and immediately got in line for the bathroom. As soon as I got in the bathroom someone was BANGING on the door and when I got out I was assaulted by their security. I am a 5'4 135lb woman. I have a bruise/bump on my forehead and my elbow is hurt from your "security" punching me in the side of my head AND ripping my drink I just bought out of my hand after beating the shit out of me and my boyfriend and throwing us out the side door. We did nothing wrong. I reached out to the owner and I am waiting for a response.

Solidly okay mexican food, I've had better, and I've had worse. The steak in the fajitas was really soft, but I don't remember anything else being remarkable. The building didn't say "Next Door" anywhere on it, so I was unsure if we were at the right place. read more

Friday evening review: Sat outside since we had my puppy with me, the waiter was kind immediately and even told us which table was a little rocky. Service overall was good-not spectacular but good. Things seemed to take a while to come out and it took a while to get the bill but really no big deal. Food was spectacular though. Super high quality. I loved my seafood chile rellano, they did not go cheap whatsoever on the filling and it was enough to eat the next day as well. My husband got the birria tacos (not pictured) and they were also really good but a little steep for not coming with rice and beans. Ceviche was fresh as well as guac but guac did not come with the chicharron like mentioned in the description. Enchiladas were good too, loved the heat of the sauce. We will be returning if back in the area soon! read more

This restaraunt Is actually agaves. I'm sure they named this next door since agaves has a pretty low rating. Sad to say the ratings for agaves are about on par for this place too. Our service was very slow and the drinks took a very long time to come out. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, so I can't blame it on being very busy. My girlfriend ordered a mojito and it tasted more like a margarita than anything. Our appetizer was okay but for the price you pay you don't get much. My burrito was decent, nothing to write home about. But you could definitely get a better one in Long Beach for $5 cheaper. My girlfriend ordered a salmon special which was about $30. I've never had a more overcooked piece of fish in my life. When the server asked how our food was I informed her the food was extremely overcooked. She didn't seem to care and there was no offer to find some kind of solution. I wasn't expecting a comped dish or anything special, but a little acknowledgement would have been appreciated. I wouldn't reccomend this place but if you're going to the club there and want food I guess this could be a decent option. read more

Food was good, I was expecting ooh no my kids picked a bar place.. but to my surprise the food was great, staff was very friendly and our server was amazing.. will be back again and we are in our 60's celebrated Father's Day there. read more

Highly recommend. Food was on point! If you like spicy, you're going to enjoy the food here! Service was good but could have been more attentive. All the servers and what I think was the manger spent a lot of time huddled up chatting rather than checking on our table. I had to get up once to get our waitresses attention. Worth a visit for sure. I will go back for sure! read more

So delicious!! First of all, the restaurant name is actually Agaves. We enjoyed the Enchiladas, Fajitas, and Burrito. All were amazing! The guacamole, draught Pacifico, and agave margarita were delicious too. Highly recommend!! read more

I went to this place Sunday morning and ordered only two micheladas. The bill was $28 and I tipped $2 seeing that service sucked. They added more money to their own tip and charged me $48.66 to my account! They're stealing from customers! A black young girl was bartending me. Stole almost $19 from me! I'll be back back to get pictures of her to upload later. Make sure to take pictures of your signed receipt before leaving. read more

We came here on a Friday night during their happy hour. We were seated outside because we have our dogs with us. Happy hour food and drinks were good. I would only come back here for happy hour because free regular menu seems to be over priced for a Mexican food. read more

Definitely coming back here for food ambiance and service were all fabulous. Is there on Friday night before the nightlife began which is perfect tempo for me as I don't like it loud but there was music playing that eased me into the weekend vibe. My friend and I ordered the chips and salsa with the cauliflower tacos. Both were very tasty and went perfectly with our cocktails: Cadillac Margarita and my friend had the sangria. CEASER is the Man! Actually came here when we saw Chili Relleno on Yelp but was disappointed to hear it was out of season but we were not upset since everything else that came out from the Menu was top notch!! Got us Jalapeño Margaritas and started from there with their Steak Nachos. Then the Carnitas Fajitas came out and oh boy, melts in your mouth. Next was the Lobster and that was just HEAVENLY. Lastly we had to order the Guacamole just to finish it all!!! You won't be disappointed but don't get me wrong you'll pay well for it all. I wandered into Next Door to grab a drink because I parched and I really had to use the bathroom! What I did not know was they were having a soft opening and they are still preparing for the general public. Lucky for me they were able to take care of my immediate needs. I initially chose the watermelon and pepino homemade infusion but alas it was not ready yet. Hence the infusion portion. I cannot wait to come back and try this creation on my next visit to Long Beach. After discussing options with the bartender I chose the Paloma Negra because I like drinks that are light and citrusy without being too sweet. This was a perfect choice and it came in such a pretty glass. I was also asked about eating and we discussed several menu items. Everything sounded so very good but I wasn't hungry. The decor looked modern and comfortable with high chairs that had arm rests and outdoor seating available. I just wanted to touch upon the service, the bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I will be back in the future! Thank you. read more

I love next door's food , the service is great the G.M William always give us an amazing service , we visit with some family , our favorites from the menu are the surf and turf tacos , cauliflower are awesome , also the Ensenada tacos , the esquite is good as a appetizer, we enjoyed the music the ambience, this is a great place to visit at evening if you just want to tear something with some friend or family or at night if you want to dance and have some fun , I love next door! read more

I will never go to this establishment again. I was told I had to use the public restroom, eventhoug I was a paying customer, due to the fact my dd was under age. She wasn't even going the the bathroom. I was then told I needed to pay $25 for a wrist band, so I could use the restroom. Again my underage dd was not with me. I was also paying for food and drinks. It wasn't until my friend spoke to the bouncer, did he let me go in to use the bathroom. Then there was no seat covers or toilet paper. He wanted me to pay $25 to use the restroom. Fuck that!!! And nobody is on the same dance floor. Check your cameras read more

This establishment was wonderful. Around 5 pm it was a bit empty but was informed this place have live band, and once their done it turns into a night club. I was very surprised. Food was good. Boyfriend loved the fish tacos and it's very hard to get him to let me know if he likes the food when we go out for dinner.. My best experience was watermelon cucumber margarita unfortunately didn't get the gentleman's name who worked the bar on Saturday evenings but he did his thang with those for sure. This was very peculiar...I showed up and sat outside. I was handed a menu that said Agave's, not Next Door. The vegetarian options I saw in the pictures here were not on the menu. I looked up above the door and saw it said 200 B. That's the address. I looked at the pictures and saw that I was in the right place. My cousin joined me and we asked if this spot was Next Door. The woman told us 'no, that's in the alley behind us.' We walked into a very dead alley with no restaurants. Was she pulling our leg? We asked the parking attendant at the garage in between. She said there were no restaurants behind and the one we went to was the right one. We went back and asked a worker if this was Next Door and he had no idea what we were talking about. This was our first stop on our beer and taco tour. We made it just in time for their happy hour (5-7pm). It's $5 beers, $6 margaritas & app specials. I asked for a Stella and they said they were out. I asked for another beer on the HH menu. Strike 2! Settled for a margarita. The tour was then changed to a drink and taco tour. Did a couple rounds of margaritas. A mistake was made on one of them. Not that big of a deal. The margaritas are smaller, but they are good. We ordered the duo ceviche and taquitos. The taquitos are 8 mini ones pilled on top of each other. SUPER tasty! The ceviche had good flavor w/ small cuts of jalapenos in it and avocado on top. It comes w/ three giant chips. Odd. The welcome chips you get have some sort of spice on them that makes it a bit caliente. We were there for dinner and it seemed as though our waiter doubled as the bartender. This place has like five names! It was a little confusing to find at first. "Next Door" "Agave Kitchen & Tequila Restaurant". Their drinks are okay, food isn't anything fancy, infused bar food. During covid they had pretty cool set up. The restaurant inside is okay, nothing fancy. During the day you can see it's wear and tear of a night club. The restrooms are not clean. I wouldn't go back to dine, maybe for weekend. read more

Tonight we came to celebrate my friends birthday and we had a blast. Our waitress JULIA was amazing. She was very understanding and patient with such a loud group of girls!!! Currently out of town and visiting the Long Beach Area and needed an accommodating restaurant for the three of us (keto, gluten free, sesame allergy). Very clean & very attentive staff! The food was very tasteful & fresh. Didn't take very long to come out either, we ordered the carnitas nachos which were delicious! We had originally tried to use the yelp check in for Agaves, not knowing that the businesses were considered to be different.. but the manager was very courteous and gave them to us for free. We also ordered the duo de ceviche, carne asada tacos, a quesadilla, the fuerte carne asada plate, & the camarones tatemados a la diablo.. & topped it off with 2 margaritas! All in all very satisfied with their food & service! Definitely coming back! Only problem was the cleanliness of their bathrooms, no paper towels & trash on the floors. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.

Originally, we were going to try to hit up Zuzu's petal, but the line was ridiculously long and the parking was a nightmare, so I decided to take her to my 2nd choice, which was Kin Long. I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill local, Thai place with food that is more homestyle and tastes slightly above average to hit the Thai food fix. Boy, was I wrong! First and foremost, they have their own parking lot, so YAY! It's starting to sound like my standards are low, but they aren't. OMG- their restroom is clean! JK. From the outside, it looked nice enough, but I was impressed when we entered. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. Servers were very polite and accommodating. I let my friend order since she was the guest. She ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and scampi shrimp to share, and the Thai tea drink with the ice cream bar. I ordered 3 cocktails (Jalapeno + tamarind, Lychee, and Thai tea martini) and they were all good (not overly sweet and weak sauce, but balanced, tasty, and had the right amount of buzz). We had a light lunch since we had AYCE hot pot later that evening (Mikiya - yes I'm a good host). The garlic noodles exceeded my expectations - shrimp were huge, seasoned well, and just cooked through, the noodles were broad, float, tender, and had a slight chewiness to it. The scampi shrimp were huge, tasty, succulent, and cooked perfectly (not surprised since the shrimp with the garlic noodles were so good). NOTHING WAS OVERCOOKED OR MADE ME GO.... "MEH...." and I've been to many Thai restaurants even the highly stylized kitschy ones like Farmhouse Thai in SF. The waiters were very attentive. They made their rounds to make sure waters were filled and all guests were taken care of. It helps they were also handsome too! LOL. I generally find many places nice in the competitive LA, but not nice enough for me to travel from the SGV. However, I will go out of my way to visit KL again to try the rest of their menu (drunken noodles, pork jerky, crab fried rice, papaya salad, etc.) because they left a good impression with me. Prices are reasonable and the quality of food, cocktails, clean restrooms, ambiance was coastal modern, has its own designated parking lot, and service was lovely.

I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The server changed the tip amount on my bill after I signed it. Only had two drinks and tipped appropriately ,but when I checked my statement later, I noticed that the amount had been altered and was significantly higher than what I wrote. This is absolutely unacceptable and borders on theft. I called the restaurant to address the issue, but they did nothing to resolve it. This kind of behavior is not only unethical, but it also ruins the trust between customers and businesses. This was our first time at this restaurant. We stopped bye on Christmas Day and the food was amazing. I definitely recommend the ceviche or guacamole for appetizer. For dinner we ordered fish and shrimp tacos. Plentiful proportions to say the least. My wife and I ordered margaritas for dessert! We're staying at the Hilton Long Beach and walked over from our hotel. William and his staff made us feel right at home. I definitely will be coming back when I'm in the LBC area. I was so hungry that we ordered 2 appetizers for my 2 friends and me. I was doubting on having the taco platter, thanks God i asked my server Julia and she recommended to order the 2 tacos plate, which was phenomenal cause i was full with the surf and turf, but my other friend who eats more than me, he was placed that he had the taco platter. "Next door at Agave" is the place to be for Sunday Brunch!!!
