Straight up real deal Chinese food! We found this place on Yelp and so glad we did. It's casual, great food, lot of bang for your buck Chinese food. The atmosphere is very traditional Chinese restaurant with soft music played on the flute & strings with decor to match the vibe. It's clean, a little dated but still charming. We were asked to seat ourselves which was fine w us. Our server quickly came over took our drink order and returned shortly with our water. He asked if we were ready to order and we were. After our order was placed our food did not take long to arrive piping hot and just the way we asked for it. I requested for very little sauce and I'm glad I did because it was plenty sauce even with that request I don't like my food, drowning in sauces I like to actually taste the ingredients which I was able to. My husband had the Hong Kong fried noodles, which he totally devoured he loved every bite! I had the chicken and vegetables, easy sauce with chili sauce added, and we split an order of the beef Moo Shu. We had so much food we had to take the Moo Shu go! We were very happy with our dinner. It was simple, delicious Quick, and just what we were looking for before we checked into our hotel. We drove in from Vegas that day and after a long drive and day on our feet playing tourist, we were ready to sit and enjoy a casual meal and that's exactly what we were able to do. I have to take a star away. Unfortunately. The food is amazing but the service was trash. The kid up front welcomed us, sat us, and then he sat. I had to ask for water and then I never saw him again, while he sat. The older gentleman was running around and clearly they don't want to hire more people. He was short and clipped and just wanted to hurry back to doing whatever he was doing. Golden wok has beautiful dining room, but today we wanted to get takeout. We ordered our usual suspects...beef chowfun, bok choy, chicken and vegetables, and mooshu pork. Everything was as expected. Flavors and seasonings were spot on. Our favorite dish was the mooshu pork. It had nice crunch from cabbage and mushrooms with plenty of pork strips in each bite. The staff were helpful and friendly. Ordered take out from here for dinner and we really liked everything we got. We ordered the Beef Chow Fun, Sun Devil Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Szechuan String Bean. Everything tasted great and had lots of flavor. The Sun Devil Chicken and Szechuan String Bean were spicy, as advertised, but not overly so. The order was ready in about 20 minutes, so very quick. I always love a Chinese restaurant with decent vegetarian options. We have lived in the neighborhood the past decade, and am surprised it took this long to visit Golden Wok. Service was friendly, attentive, and the space was comfortable. Amongst the list of appetizers, vegetarian offerings include the veggie egg roll, veggie lettuce wrap, and veggie pocket. We opted for egg rolls which were yummy and a perfect starter. The soups do not look too veg friendly aside from the tofu soup. It sounds plain and likely something I would not choose. We ordered the tofu with veggies, mixed veggies, and veggie chow mein. The clear sauce in the mixed veggies was perfect as the tofu dish was on the saltier side. The chow mein was just ok. I do not really enjoy the thinner noodles, but the amount of veggies were perfect! Overall, I enjoyed Golden Wok and would love to visit again, maybe even add it to our rotation. I noticed that they had a lot of take out orders AND in person diners. A little different than our typical take out place. Would recommend! read more

I met my sister here for lunch last week and it was great! They have a fairly large lunch menu and the prices are reasonable. The service was spot on and very friendly. The egg drop soup was delicious as was everything we tried. My sister liked hers so much she ordered two meals to go for dinner that night for herself and her husband. The ambiance is nice as well. I grew up eating Chinese food, it's easily something I crave all the time, and to satisfy this - the last several orders on my doordash have been Golden Wok! I am so surprised at how tasty and consistent this location is. Almost everything I've ordered hits close to home and leaves me wanting more! Even my toddler will eat the Hong Kong style pan fried noodles (super picky). Every dish has been savory, flavorful, and consistent. When I order from them and try something new I'm always happy and satisfied. Tonight my husband and I were craving Chow Fun (wet style). Usually when you order chow fun it's "dry," with bean sprouts and onions. We submitted our order to see if this was an option, no expectations cause it's not on the menu, wet style with black bean sauce and bell peppers, they did it! So amazing. They also called to confirm what type of peppers! The food has already got me hooked but now that they went this extra mile, I'm a huge fan and will rave about them to all. Just wanted soup. I get it's Christmas Eve, but they won't even pick up the phone. So I drove there. Several people in line picking up orders, but the restaurant itself wasn't even full. I flag down a guy and ask how long it will take to get an order of soup. He seems very apprehensive to help me at all, but he says he will go ask. He wanders around the dining room for a couple minutes, then goes to kitchen. He returns, sees me again and blows me off. I eventually flag him down again and just ask if he knows how long it will be. He says (verbatim) "Probably too long." He still acted like he was going to find out, but I told him not to bother and just walked out. It's a shame, the food is pretty good here. But terrible, lazy customer service. read more

I need to be Authentic! Chinese food has not been on my Radar for the past 3 decades . Yesterday , knowing my good Friend Vaughn enjoyed Chinese he picked this Restaurant. The Decor is Dated 1970's! On the other hand from the Egg Drop to the Pork filled Pot Stickers my Taste Budd were awaken . Light food, well prepared and very delicious... I chose Spicy Chinese Chicken with vegetables . Our meal was very tasty. I had the House Special Chicken on the lunch menu and my husband had the House Special Egg Foo Young. The lunch special came with deep fried chicken, egg drop soup, chow mein and rice. The chicken was freshly deep fried, served with a garlic sauce and topped with green onions. The waiter gave my husband soup too! The portions were good and it was all freshly made. It's a lovely looking restaurant and very clean. meh....2/10. I was craving chicken fried rice today and decided to get takeout out from Golden Wok. What a huge disappointment. I opened the takeout box and immediately knew by looking at it that the fried rice was dry as hellllll. Tasted terrible. bland, dry, not hot, the chicken was like jerky, there's absolutely zero vegetables in it and it's giving 3 days old. Who makes chicken fried rice without onion, carrots, peas or some kind of veggie? I didn't even bother eating and threw it away. The orange chicken was just as bad. While I am a regular at Golden Wok and either order dinner (in-person or to-go) or the lunch special (in-person) often, today was my first time ordering on the Christmas menu to-go. I thought I would share about my experience for others looking for authentic Chinese food on Christmas when most everything else is closed. Last year, Golden Wok planned to remain open but ended up only being open for to-go orders. This year, I planned ahead and placed an order on Christmas Eve for a 5 PM pick-up on Christmas Day. According to their website, they were open for dine-in and take-out on December 24 from 11 AM to 8:30 PM and on December 25 from 11 AM to 3 PM for dine-in and pick-up though only pick-up from 3 to 8:30 PM. They also had a special menu for the two days that could be found at https://www.goldenwokaz.com/menu. The menu was shorter than usual with some increased prices for the dishes, which made sense. It was still much less than some of the other Chinese restaurants with dine-in options on Christmas Day. I arrived on Christmas Day around 5 PM to pick up my order from the day before. There was a long line when I arrived though it turned out that most people in the line wanted to place an order or missed the note about no dine-in being available. By 5 PM, Golden Wok stopped accepting to-go orders due to how busy they were already. The line quickly shortened to just those picking up orders like me. I paid for my order and then waited with a half dozen others for our 5 PM orders. It took about 20 minutes for the order to come out as there was just one gentleman working in the front, one woman bringing orders from the kitchen to the front, and I'm not sure who was in the kitchen. The order was accurate, and the food tasted delicious as usual. My order was double and triple checked before given to me. While I may have dropped my review rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, I did feel bad for the staff working. While they were short-staffed and behind on giving out orders, they were doing the best they could and I'm still so grateful to be able to have had delicious Chinese food to-go on Christmas Day. I may plan to order my food to be ready a half hour earlier than I need it next year. read more

For the price and the quality it was quite good. Especially when compared to other local Chinese food experiences. Tried chicken & veg lunch combo. The vegetables were fresh and the quantity was sufficient. One annoyance is the lack of knives in table setting, you must request. Why I ask? My first time here. I drive by this place practically everyday and decided to give it a try. I ordered to go. They have a good amount of selections, which I love. I ordered the house special Chow Mein and added ginger to it with a pork egg roll. The food did not disappoint. There was a good amount of meat and veggies in my chow mein. Is sesame chicken and orange chicken the same? No, sesame and orange chicken are not the same because they differ in the base sauce ingredient, cooking method, and taste. Sesame chicken mixes soy sauce with sesame oil, while orange chicken uses soy sauce and orange zest. However, both use boneless chicken meat. Well, apparently, at Golden Wok, it is. Add some sesame seeds on top of the orange chicken, and there you have it. I know this because the chef brought me orange chicken; I said I ordered sesame. The waitress said to put the dish down, and I will be back. She then shook some sesame seeds on some chicken pieces. What? See the photo below/ No longer a fan, I have allowed this place to shine for months since they purchased the restaurant from the original owners. They don't match up. We come here weekly. Did you know for the past three weeks, they have just run out of noodles for the soup? How lucky are we that three Mondays in a week, they just run out? She even offered us the crumbs this time. We hadn't gotten food from here since we moved from the area over 4 years ago and after ownership changed. It was our favorite Chinese place but after we got an order delivered recently to our new home, we sadly realized that it's now inferior. I got Mongolian Beef and pork potstickers, my wife got House Special Chow mein, orange chicken and garlic shrimp. Orange chicken: pretty standard although I typically don't go for batter fried Chinese food; Chow mein: meh, not bad but not great; Mongolian beef: worst I've ever had anywhere, tasted like pot roast with a pale gray sauce instead of mahogany, and the flavor was off, and not close; pot stickers filling was very dense with just pork with no vegetables or other component to lighten them up, probably the worst I've had, too. Can't speak for the garlic shrimp, didn't try it. I'm glad we gave it a try out of curiosity, but we will not go back. The new owners ruined a good thing. read more
