If you're looking for a small, local Thai restaurant, Angels Thai will be a hit. I don't know if it's family-run, but it definitely has that feel. We saw several people stop in to grab takeout and chat with our waiter, so it's definitely a neighborhood favorite. I wish we lived closer, but my waistline probably is glad that we don't! We sampled the fried wontons (always a hit), eggrolls, pad see ew with beef and green curry with tofu. We went for a small amount of spice with the curry and it ended up coming with the perfect amount of kick. Our waiter (who may also be the owner, now that I think about it, from the way he was interacting with clients) also had some military gear on, so great place to come if you want to support a veteran. :) read more

Really really excellent Thai food. This was our first time and we ordered in advance and picked up. We had spicy Thai basil with Shrimp (mild) and drunken noodles (pad kee mao) also with shrimp but medium in spice. It was quite hot for me but the other diner loved it. Ingredients all high end and very fresh. This is as good as the best Thai food in San Francisco and definitely better than any that we have had in Phoenix/Scottsdale. It's a little cute neighborhood restaurant and service and timing of our order met expectations. We will definitely be dining here often in the future. This is a husband and wife team here and the love comes right through in the food. You never get a bad meal. the service is top notch. you should try the tofu!!! I mean some places just can't get it right but from the sauce to the drinks to the service You will be coming back. I know i will be back again many times. I don't love that they don't have fountain soda (that's just me being picky!!!) but they have great tea! it's a little small in there not many tables but there are enough to have quick lunch. We had pad Thai, green curry, pineapple fried rice and some kind of chicken basil dish. They were all delicious and so flavorful. The waiter had good suggestions and was very nice. It's not a big restaurant but it's comfortable and has some nice design. We will definitely return. read more

Was craving pad see ew so I stopped in. Service was great and the food came out quick. The pad see ew was not the best I've ever had but it was good and the spice level was great. A note to the chef/owner - this was just an observation and I could be entirely wrong, so if I am, please ignore. It appeared that the food was being cooked on nonstick pans with plastic handles. The plastic handles really stood out to me because I've never seen that in a restaurant before. Typically restaurant grade pans are made of carbon steel (also non stick) and can be used over and over again for a long time. My concern with using nonstick teflon pans is due to the well-known health risks involved with using metal utensils on the nonstick coating as well as cooking over high heat with the nonstick coating. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances our chemicals that can be released into the food and have long-term health consequences. if you are using Teflon coated pans, please for your customer's and chef's health, consider changing to carbon steel or another alternative. read more

Last two meals here have been horrible. Seems like they got a new chef who enjoys dousing the dishes in excess oil and other liquids. The angel hair pasta was inedible with a swimming pool of grease surrounding them and causing major water logged noodles. The previous meal had a ton of liquid sweet sauce drowning every thing. This review is from a visit on November 8th. The Tom Yum soup was the best dish of everything we ordered. The shrimp satay was almost raw. The yellow curry was watery and VERY thin. The atmosphere and comfort level was nothing special. The big man who appeared to be in charge and directing traffic, sort of reminded me of a veteran who married an Asian woman and opened a restaurant here. Not that there's anything wrong with that. He just looked sort of lumbering and out of place. Would not return due to the thin curry and raw shrimp. read more

the food here is AMAZING. i am visiting Arizona for a week right now and the thai place i frequent in my hometown is really good, so i was walking into this place with high expectations. they did not disappoint. i ordered the tofu pad thai and my sister got pad see ew. both of them were really good! my pad thai was literally perfect and it tasted really authentic and had a nice color to it. the workers were very kind and overall the service was great. the only thing i'd note is my sister ordered mild for her pad see ew but she thought it was pretty spicy even though she has a decent spice tolerance. also, we felt like the vegetable to noodle ratio could've been better (too much veggies, barely any noodles). still, flavor profile wise everything was great. we ordered food for takeout so i can't really discuss the ambiance, but i do think there's a decent amount of tables inside for dine in. loved this place and i will try to stop by again before leaving. read more

So this is my go to thai spot in the area, or should i say, was. Service was amazing, as usual. But after spending over $30 on 2 dishes and getting home to find the quality has changed. I dont know what has changed at the restaurant but i have always ordered my dishes medium here without an issue. Today, both dishes were so spicy i could not tolerate them. My basil fried rice was a little mushy/wet but flavor was good, just too spicy for medium. My tom yum soup was spicy but mostly flavorless. It was definitely missing something. Been going here for over a year and had multiple great experiences, but todays was bad enough i had to share it. Hopefully this was just an off day. read more

Great flavor depth on all the items we had!! The Papaya Salad was fresh and crisp with a mild amount of heat. The Shrimp Satay was grilled to perfection and with the peanut sauce it was a must have. Yum awesome curry! I like to try all the thai places near me and was so excited to see this one open up! You can order online, they use toast tab on their website. I ordered a yellow curry with tofu and added vegetables too. Sometimes when I get curry the chunks of vegetable are so huge that I have to cut them up before I eat them or I scald my mouth, and that was not an issue here! They use smaller chunks which was perfect. The curry is creamy and a mild was good, sometimes mild can be too mild but theirs is a true mild. Tofu was yummy too. Would for sure come back read more

A Hidden Gem I have tried many Thai restaurants across the valley and I can honestly say that Angel Thai Bistro is one of the best Thai restaurants I've come across. The entrees at Angel Thai Bistro are absolutely delicious. On this visit we ordered the Pod See Ew with chicken and an order of springrolls. Our entries were fresh and flavourful. The chicken was moist and tender and the Pod See Ew sause was savory, slightly sweet, the perfect blend of deep rich layers of Thai flavor, you could taste the difference in quality and authenticity with every bite. I wish I would have taken a picture of the springrolls but we devoured those pretty quickly. The springrolls were light, crispy, and served pipping hot, paired with the perfect homemade sauce. I could have eaten all four but I shared. If you enjoy Thai food you have to give Angel's Thai Bistro a try. The service is great, the portions are large, and the prices are wallet friendly.
