This has been a debacle from day one with them, and I don't know if they're not training their employees right or their systems are so archaic. I would NEVER recommend East Lawn. First of all, it is far more expensive than, for example, the Catholic cemeteries in town that charge far less. My mother's gravestone has always looked lousy (very poor craftsmanship), the decimation of all decorations is completely random (though it is posted to be cleanup at the first of the month), and the employees are thoroughly unhelpful in resolving grievances. Spare yourself a world of aggravation and take your loved one elsewhere. I wish I had. read more

My wife and I went to east lawn Cemetery to see about burial issues since my folks are buried there. My sister who lives in California had the deed of the folks plot and sent it to East Lawn for me and the Cemetery gave me a copy of it and will not give me the original unless i give them $490,00.It's bad enough that they charge you so much for everything knowing that you are grieving for your loss and it seems they don't care, it's all about the MONEY! They should be regulated, to ensure public health, safety, and those that can't afford to bury their love ones without going into debt because they are at the mercy of the Cemetery! It seems if you can't afford to pay you will be handled by the County's burial service and that could be potter's field. People we need to stop the gouging which means making (someone) pay too much for something! Don't let this happen to your love ones! read more

I was working with an associate for the last 6 months on several issues for services from Eastlawn. Since December I've been waiting on a callback to finalize burial plans and to replace a marker on a grave at another cemetery. No callbacks so I called Eastlawn to contact my advisor. Three times without a callback. The excuses I've heard were, he's busy, he's not here, he's with a customer. So I left messages 3 times for callbacks. Still no calls from Wally. Good luck dealing with him apparently. read more

Janice I don't know why I continue to receive such unacceptable customer service. First issue was the fact that the payment for my funeral arrangements never went through. Numerous phone calls were made to you with no response to our query.. Bob and I had to escalate the problem to Nina for resolution after many phone calls and voice message to you that were left unanswered. It took from 9/3 when we met with you till 9/19 to get a resolution. Now, there is another issue that needs to be addressed. We called and left a message for Nina and sat around all day waiting for a return call. (we have better things to do than sit around all day waiting for the phone to ring) I had to make two phone calls to Global Atlantic. Their customer service is fantastic. I never received a contract in the mail indicating a policy number. Bob's contract arrived within a couple of day. I gave them his policy number and they confirmed his policy,. However, they had no record of me. They even tried looking up my account by Social Security number and date of birth. They said someone on your end failed to send in the policy information. They said I should take the matter up with you. This is so frustrating. I'm not employed by East Lawn Palms but feel like I am doing all the work because of incompetency. I should be on the payroll!!!!!!!!! I called and asked for Nina. I refused to talk to you because of your Track record of not returning phone calls. This issue needs to be resolved immediately. read more

They helped provide a nice graveside service for momma May 26th and I ordered her headstone paid in full in June knowing it was going to be 8-10 months before it will be installed. No rush, however they have negated the contract, making changes after it was signed expecting me to agree to it but there is only so much I'm willing to agree to! I'm looking into another company to provide the headstone before I request my money back. read more

My dad died in May 2023 and Jeff was helping me in these awful moments. He was tactful, respectful and arranged everything. Elise and Mark were guiding our family on the day of the funeral and were absolutely amazing. I will always remember how moving and so worthy of my father everything was. On the negative side, Death Certificate, that we were supposed to receive within 6 weeks, reached us 3 month later (and after 6-7 calls and inquiries). We paid immediately $18000 for funeral and the gravesite (we were told that the money due as soon as the death occur). I was crying the eyes out every day for many months from the loss of the most dearest person in my life. And it wasn't helpful at all, when Billing department started calling me every 10-15 days after the funeral and sending me endless invoices with requirements immediately to cover the balance of two bills with total of $18000. Every time I was explaining that it's already done and referred them to Jeff and two credit card transactions, they contradicted me that THEIRS records indicate UNPAID balance. It was so tone death when they were telling me - you have another account to pay. I was immediately bursting in tears and couldn't come down for hours after. it lasted many many months until in September, after many promises to settle the problem, Jeff finally put the issue in order. I was almost begging him to spare me the awfulness to explain every time all the circumstances and that they have an error they need to fix it and I have nothing to do with this. So it's a mix bag - my dad had a wonderful funeral, family and friends were able to say goodbye in the most touching service imaginable; and yet I was left with months and months on hand begging for favors... It felt almost if the company did all the services Pro Bono and I am trying to get out of them something extra. It left rather unsavory taste. read more

Terrible customer service. Responsiveness was great before the sale and awful afterward. Took about 1.5 years from my mom's passing for her interment to be completed. This was partially my fault for missing a document that needed to be signed (of course I missed something, I was grieving). No one followed up with me to tell me anything was missing. Unfortunately this delayed the process for almost one YEAR. Completely unacceptable and only prolonged the grieving process. Zero responses at the end of the transaction. Would not recommend and would never use them going forward. Which is sad because I have several family members here. read more

My wife's mother is Buried at East Lawn. They have been a pleasure to work with throughout the years, very responsive to our needs And the of my wife's mothers grave site. However on Mother's day we went to visit her Grave and wife badly springed her ankle in a gopher hole. When is your Cemetery going get rid of these rodents? At least fill the holes up so nobody else Can injury themselves. read more

I went to my uncles viewing last week. The staff were very nice to the guest that showed up, however near the end of the service I had to go to the restroom, on my way down the hall I saw a mouse run into the back room area. With the hurt of losing my sister to cancer in 2022 and losing my Father in 2019, my Mother wanted a beautiful plot to put my Father and Sister together. We ended up at East Lawn Mortuary in July of 2022 and decided to put them both in their final resting place in the Nature Garden. We had a beautiful service for them, and the customer service was outstanding. At the time of contract signatures, we were informed that the Niche plaque that was to be put on their plot was on backorder, and would take a couple of months to be put on their plot. Keep in mind, this was in August of 2022. Between October 2022 and March 2023, I had left numerous messages and emails checking on the status of their plaque and none of those messages or emails were ever returned. Here it is, 7 months later, I finally spoke with someone about the plaque. I was informed that they had the order, but they needed to find out what is going on. I was then informed that they would call me back the next day. My only gripe that I have is the lack of communication from this company. I physically went in 2 separate times, left messages, and none were returned. I can only imagine how families may feel dealing with not only the loss of a loved one, but a company that is very unprofessional about their business. I am still extremely sad and heartbroken of the recent loss of my sister, and consider this a huge insult to both my Father and sister. Because of how the company dealt with this situation, I would not recommend this company to family and friends. read more

Total nightmare!!!! We have been waiting to have a funeral for my mom for 8 MONTHS with no hope in sight, because of the most extreme incompetency, horrific communication, and unprofessionalism I have EVER seen from a company. I just have to keep calling over and over- they tell me to leave a voicemail and no one calls me back. I have to send email after email and it takes MONTHS to get a reply. I FINALLY got confirmation that her headstone had been ordered 4 months after my mom passed- well that turned out to be untrue. Sooo frustrating. I kept checking in - email, phone text- and asking for some sort of anticipated date it would arrive so we could plan a funeral (all of us kids live all over the country so we have to fly in), and couldn't get anyone to answer me. Today I called again and demanded to speak to ANYONE, and was told it didn't get ordered until 2 months after that-- the day after I was finally able to talk to the manager, Nina, who profusely apologized, yet DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY to tell me it actually hadn't even been ordered (!!) and never returned any of my calls after talking to her the first time. We have to wait for the headstone bc it's going to hold her ashes, and we want to do the funeral in Tucson where my mom grew up, so it's pointless to fly into Tucson from all over the country without the headstone w/urn. I hate that at my mom's funeral- PROBABLY A YEAR AFTER SHE PASSED BC OF EASTLAWN- I'm going to be at Eastlawn bc I'm BEYOND FRUSTATED with them. I would have asked for a refund and put my mom's remains elsewhere, but her parents are buried there and she wanted to be next to them. Eastlawn- this is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. read more

My dear sweet Mom passed away on September 4, 2023. Initially everything with East Lawn was wonderful. The staff was compassionate, and caring, and we were happy with everything UNTIL it came time for her headstone. I called the gentleman helping us multiple times but got no return calls. Finally in early October I went in to the office and asked to speak to the Manager, where I was told that the employee I was working with was no longer with East Lawn. Nice of them to let me know. I then ordered it directly with the Manager who said she would see to it that it was ordered that day, and she would try to put a rush on it. I signed off on it, was told it would be in by January at the latest. At the end of January it still wasn't installed, so I asked the Manager about it. She said it came in with errors so it was sent back for corrections and would take an additional 3 months. I highly doubt it was ever ordered in the first place. In April my Sister went in to find out why it still wasn't here, and they told her I never signed off on it and they did not have a valid email address. She asked to see paperwork, and right there on the paperwork was my signature for the sign off in addition to my email. Excuses, excuses. Now we have been told it will be July before it gets here. This is incompetency, and complete disregard of our feelings. My mom deserved so much better. We are disgusted with East Lawn. It is unfortunate because up to this they were great. Initially I would have given 5 stars but with this extremely frustrating situation, I can no longer do that. One star at best. read more

We found the interaction with the sales team and representatives at East Lawn is not much better than dealing with a used car salesperson. They are very unprofessional with no reliability or accountability. Make sure to get your contract digitally as they are using old school hand written contracts along with unreliable pricing. My mother and her husband are in the mausoleum at East Lawn. Her husband past away 28 yrs ago and at that time my mother paid for his and her crypts in full. My mother passed away in November of 2020 and at that time I was told her marker, because of Covid, probably wouldn't be placed until this past September. Here it is December, more than a year later and her name is still not placed. I was told someone FORGOT to order it so it wasn't ordered until 9 months after she passed. I consider this a huge insult to my mom and her family. AND EAST LAWN STILL CANNOT TELL ME WHEN HER NAMEPLATE WILL BE PLACED. My husband and I had a peculiar situation as we had made arrangements for my mom to be transferred at death to California from another city in northern AZ. I had checked out several of mortuaries in Tucson early 2018 and they didn't really give me time nor concrete information because my mom was still relatively stable. But, when I met with Judith at East Lawn, she went beyond just possibilities, but really looked into my moms circumstances and the added costs of logistics from Tucson which is what I was looking for. I knew then when the time came I would be going through them. My mom went home mid December and I cannot tell you how thankful I am that in my time of need, the staff at East Lawn made our grief less stressful. There were a lot of logistics in getting my mom to the cemetary in California, including an overnight at a local mortuary in California before her graveside service. They were on top of everything from start to finish. Michelle, Judith and the two staff members who transported my mom were amazing. Even with the holidays in the way, all the paperwork and logistics were completed for a 28th of December burial. Luis and Danielle who transported my mom were accommodating in California and the staff at their sister mortuary Glendale Mortuary were also amazing and loving with our family, hosting my mom overnight and allowing us to come and follow the Hearst to her final resting place. I have no words to thank the staff at East Lawn and Glendale Mortuary for their kindness, efficiency and professionalism. Forever grateful! read more

This is one of the best cemeteries I have ever had the privilege of working with. They were kind, respectful, treated my family with dignity and we were very pleased with everything they had to offer. The funeral was wonderful, the staff were very clean, polite, and helpful. The funeral coach was immaculate and clean, the explained everything to us so we knew exactly what to expect. The grave-side service was amazing. They had a staff member available to us as we gathered and the our family said a few words. The folks at East Lawn made this easy on us. Worked with Michael H. on getting my daughter's marker raised after it 'sunk' from years of rain. He delivered as promised and even had the marker cleaned and the old vase replaced, all at no cost. I live out of town, so he called a week later to let me know the work was complete and even texted me a picture. My grandfather is buried here. My family and I found the staff to be very helpful, sensitive, and sincere during the plot selection and burial process in 2007. We felt well taken care of through a very rough time. We experienced many kindnesses and are very pleased with the maintenance/upkeep of the grounds since losing my grandpa. The cemetery is well situated with a beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains. I find it a peaceful place to go and remember the loved ones that we have buried there. read more

I had a terrible experience with these people, possibly because I was making arrangements from out of town (and they took advantage of that?). Mainly, there were issues with the paperwork involved with sending a headstone that was ordered online. The woman who arranged the memorial service, Mary, was very helpful and the service was nice. However, once that was over, Mary failed to inform me that I needed to be in contact with others at the company for headstone acceptance and placement. The headstone company couldn't reach Mary and Mary wasn't supplying the info/contacts to them or myself. There was very poor communication with these people, not for my lack of trying. There was a huge delay, frustration, and sadness that memories of my mom's resting place will always be negative. Eventually, I felt I had to travel there to make sure they were doing their job. Also, at the service, I had asked for the flower holders on my brother's and father's nearby graves to be cleaned and prepped for use (dirt had "glued" the vases immoveable over the years). But when I showed up to check on things several weeks later, nothing had been done. An apology would have made things so much better, but the woman in charge of handling the headstone issues couldn't even be bothered to see me; she sent out a new employee who tried his best to patch up the company's mistakes. read more

Used East Lawn services in 2016 when my mother passed. Staff was courteous and helpful throughout the process. We never felt pressured to upgrade services or buy products through them. We even bought an urn from an outside company and my mother was cremated via another agency in town, and East Lawn handled all the details regarding the deceased with no issues that I'm aware of. Final placement is a niche in one of the buildings on site (semi-secure-mag card or code required). WARNING: I recently discovered (Dec 2017) that her niche was broken into and items stolen that belonged to her. I immediately reported this to staff and her response was "this hasn't happened in awhile." Very disturbing. Beware. read more
